Fairchild Tropical Garden is a fantastic place to spend the day. Located next to Matheson Hammock State park and close to the restaurant filled, Miami neighborhoods of Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. There are many things to see and do before and after a visit to the gardens, making a whole day trip a memorable outing for the whole family.

Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden is extensive and offer thousands of varieties of palms, cycads, cactus, orchids, and other plants in a beautifully maintained sanctuary. Older and younger visitors can enjoy a tram ride to get accustomed to the layout of the sprawling gardens and then perhaps meander around the areas they find most beautiful. There are also guided walking tours offered of the butterfly garden.

Fairchild Tropical garden features the glass art of Chihuly and other artists year round. It is a photographers heaven with beautiful shots around most every corner. Our family and guests always enjoy Fairchild. We would recommend it to anyone who enjoys being out in nature, or enjoys a peaceful walk. It is a true sanctuary near the city.

Take at least a half day to explore Oleta River State Park. Famed for their mountain bike course and great Kayaking trails. Oleta has 4 miles of Novice trails and 3 miles of paved bike trails. Oleta is a true paradise found in the middle of busy Miami Beach. It reminds us of an urban park kind of like Central Park in New York City. Located at 3400 NE 63rd Street, North Miami, 33160. You can also park at the Blue Marlin Restaurant pay the parking fee and Kayak or Canoe for a good length up (or down) the Oleta River.

Just outside the rat race a little bit of peace and tranquility.

Graziano’s is a family-owned restaurant that has been in the Miami area for 20 years, offering high-quality foods for patrons to enjoy. The owning family immigrated to American from Argentina and opened the restaurant to provide a touch of South America to the United States. Some of the dishes also come from Europe, where they originated before European immigrants brought them to Argentina. The restaurant offers separate menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner along with menus for panninis and the bar. All meats are cooked over an open fire as this is the traditional method used in Argentina for cooking. To start your meal, you can start with either hot or cold appetizers or a salad. For a main dish, choose between pastas and grilled meats. A children’s and to-go menu is also available. If you are looking for something lighter, you can order a pannini or pastas from the pannini menu. Those who go to Graziano’s looking to relax, the restaurant offers an extensive wine list and drink menu, including martinis, cosmopolitans, manhattans and more.

Located in the Arts District of the city, the restaurant features unique decor that includes a glass mosaic mural and marble table tops. Its location makes it the perfect stop for those who are attending performances in the Performing Arts Center. While the restaurant is best known for its signature pizza crust, it also offers many of the traditional Italian dishes if that is what you prefer. Traditional offerings include gnocchi, spaghetti and rigatoni. However, most people come to Joey’s for its pizza, which has been named one of the top pizzas in the country by Food & Wine magazine. Other popular publications have also ranked the pizza highly, including the Boston Globe and Wall Street Journal. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day of the week except Sunday.
