This is the new swingset we got for the girls. When I was a kid, we wouldn’t even call this a “swingset”. We would call this “the park” or a “playground”. I mean, really… what are we doing to our children? Perhaps I was really deprived as a kid and now i feel the need to spoil my kids??

The neighbor’s granddaughter looked over the fence and said “I want to go there!”. Go “there”?!?! What is this, an amusement park? Come on already! I dunno… I think we’ve gone overboard. I NEVER wanted my kids to be spoiled but I want them to be happy. Where do you draw the line though?

What do you think? I am always learning….

Politics & religion both cause nothing but division. Music on the other hand, this is something that brings us all together.

This is a beautiful video put together with over a decade of work from Concord Music Group. I really like this kind of thing. It’s this spirit that brought our family to Austin, and it’s this spirit that will keep our family traveling abroad.

Today I picked up the new Nikon Nikkor 1:1.4G 50mm for our D90, after being turned onto it by Rob Page. I am VERY happy with this lens. It’s going to help me make some really great pictures.

Some of my initial samples are below. Yes, more Alayna than Elizabeth and that’s because she’s home with us all day. I’ll be getting plenty of Elizabeth in the coming days though. ;)

There was really no time to respond. We had about 10 minutes straight of golf ball sized hail – most of it coming in horizontally.

Luckily the car was parked in the garage, but the truck took on $4000+ in damage. Pretty much every car in our complex ended up with at least one broken windshield. According to local media, the storm damaged more than 22,000 vehicles, 15,000 homes and did $160 million in damages so I guess our $4k isn’t too bad.

I don’t ever remember TRUE “golf ball sized hail” in MO. They always talked about it, but I personally never saw it.

These shots are from one of the rare instances when I didn’t get a total attitude for interrupting them, once again. :)
