I’ve let my life run away with me and never take time for any of the things that I really enjoy or want to accomplish because I keep telling myself that the laundry won’t do itself, and dinner won’t cook itself, but, honestly, I can make my projects a priority just as I have to do with housework and looking after the kids.

So, here’s my final goodbye to the old Chez Crazy, and a happy hello to what could be.

And here’s the quick list of what’s new around here:

• We paid off all our debt
• We started house hunting
• We bought a gem of a foreclosure that needed hardly any work
• We moved
• We spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to make a neglected rental look great for the final walkthrough, just so they could tell us that we probably won’t get any security deposit back even though most things that are wrong with the house are a result of shoddy repair work and an inordinate amount of neglect on their part
• We are still unpacking a few odds and ends that we haven’t found places for yet
• We had money saved up for closing costs, ended up having no closing costs out of pocket, and bought new (and really nice used) furniture for the house
• Eddie got his big plasma tv he’s been wanting
• We got pets: a puppy that has since gotten HUGE, and two cats–an enormous long-hair and a scrawny, stupid shorthair
• We have room to put in a real garden–not huge country size, but nice city-size
• I got all my herbs planted and they are doing incredibly well
• The house came with all new appliances in the large (compared to what we had before) kitchen and I’ve been cooking like mad and thoroughly enjoying my new kingdom
• We were finally able to get a second fridge and have plenty of room now to keep 10 gallons of milk on hand since we can’t get away with having a cow in the city
• I have a front porch complete with wooden rockers and a glider
• I have a back deck which is a perfect place for my little iron bistro set and the huge gas grill we got for Eddie
• Life is good–really, really freaking good.

And if all that wasn’t enough, my awesome sister Gretchen who just happens to be my best friend got to fly down at the beginning of the month for a few days, and my brother Pat also came down the same weekend and we had a great time with family and thoroughly enjoyed our first round of company in our new home.

I’ll try to put up some pictures soon, but for now, I’ve got client work to get wrapped up, dishes and laundry to do, an office to clean up, kids to teach, and about a million other projects to prioritize.
