Hear ye! Hear ye! The Amazing Race Asia is back after a two-year absence.
Wohoooooooooo! Are you excited? Are you? Are you? I sure am!

The Amazing Race Asia 4 (more commonly known as TARA4) will return to AXN on 23rd September, 9pm Thursday. Make sure you mark this date.

I happened to stumble upon ‘TARA4 Racers Revealed’ repeat show yesterday midnight. From what I saw, I know season 4 will be even better than past seasons. I love some of the teams already. Mind you there are some that just act it out and so cheesy *yuck*. You’ll know why below.

Here’s a quick summary about TARA4:
- The host is Allan Wu (of course!)
- 10 teams
- 2 teams from India, 2 teams from Indonesia, 2 teams from Philippines, 1 team from Singapore, 1 team from Hong Kong & 2 teams from Malaysia!!!
- As usual ‘some’ of the contestants consist of models, actors, actresses & TV personalities. If you want me to count it… well we have 4 actresses, 3 actors, 3 TV personalities (reality show bachelor, beauty queen & TV presenter) and 1 model. LOL (I am no going to complain anything this time; it’s the way TARA works. But a few disappointment has been voiced out in TARA facebook page regarding this issue)

I am liking our 2 Malaysia teams. I hope they’ll do great in the race.

p/s: The Amazing Race 17 will start on 27th September, 7pm Monday AXN. Woooow! In one of the legs they’re going to Artic Circle. Double WOW!

Ok let’s move on to the main agenda… Ramadhan Bazaar!

For years we wanted to try this famous Penang Popiah stall at SS14 Ramadhan Bazaar. And for years it has eluded us until last Saturday. The reason was because the queue was always very looooooooooooooooooooong and very slow moving (worst than tortoise speed).

I was at Digital Mall to get my ‘reserved’ Toshiba SDHC 16GB card from All It Hypermarket. It was around 3.20pm. I thought I will surely miss the Ramadhan Bazaar there since it’s too early?! But whaddya know? Many stalls were just setting up and some are already busy selling buka puasa juadah.

And then we saw it. The Penang popiah stall!

The queue is already long in my standard but my mom insisted on queuing.
We’re like behind 14 to 15 people.

Only RM1. The fillings consist of turnip, scrambled eggs, bean sprouts, prawns & home-made sauce.

Guess how long it took us to buy 5 pieces of popiah from this uncle? 1/2 hour under hot sun!

Because no one wants it.
Unfortunately my whole family didn’t like the sweet taste of this popiah. The sauce is sweet and so is the turnip. There’s nothing special to it. What a disappointment. Hai hai

I checked out other blogs that blogged about this popiah. All of them like it except us. LOL

Anyway here are some other juadah that we bought.

Lontong!!! This is my first time trying lontong and I like it a lot. Bought at the stall opposite Penang Popiah.
Lontong consist of ketupat, hard-boiled egg and eaten with stay kuah (kuah kacang), vegetable curry and squid sambal (extra)

My most favorite Malay kuih: Kuih Cara.
With curry chicken, green onions, coriander and slices of chili in the middle. HEAVEN!!!

All in all I think I much prefer buka puasa juadah from Shah Alam and Bangsar. What say you?

Very often now when I’m at the kitchen, I can easily observe 1 or 2 rats scavenging for food.

My 2 reasoning why they’re able to populate that fast.

1. There’s a new restaurant near our place. Just 200m away from my back door. This means food for rats.

2. Because my dear neighbors (3-4 of them) occasionally throw leftovers at the back alley for cats, pigeons and crows to feed on. Little did they realized rats are also scavenger. 2 of my neighbors had been doing this for decades. And the worst case is they threw the leftovers near our place. And now another 1 is following suit. Cilaka!!!

What really irks me is that the rats make camp at our backdoor or should I say they poo-poo at our door. ARGGH!!! Rats are super dirty creature and they bring dangerous disease.

That aside…

Why am I showing pigeons? Coz I couldn’t find King Rat. That’s why. Haha

But why now the rats are the king of our back alley?

The answer: There are fewer cats.
No idea where they’ve gone. Died? kidnapped? migrated? unable to reproduce? lost to rats in battle? LOL

Totally no idea.
The last time I check which was on Friday, I didn’t see cats at all! *tai wok*

So to human we must depend to bring peace back to our back alley. The human is my mom.

On Saturday night my mom place a rat trap which consist of rat glue and some yummy baits outside our backdoor. I joked at my mom “What if you caught a biawak?” Haha *biawak = monitor lizard

Next morning my mom told us the trap caught something. Thank god it wasn’t a biawak. It’s a rat!!! Yipeee. So 1 down 4 to go.

Maybe we should just hire Tom (from the Tom n Jerry show). LOL

Just few weeks back, he turned into this ugly-ferocious-scary-nightmare dog again. GULPS!

Oh ohhhh he’s changing…

But you know what? I’m not afraid anymore. Here kitty kitty kitty. Muahahaha

My dear dog was once my morning alarm clock. But after quite some time I began to ignore my ‘live’ alarm clock. Oh yes why not? After all we can get use to the alarm from our handphone and table clock where they’re no longer able to wake us (I know you’re nodding in agreement), so why not a barking alarm? Hehe

So my dog sort of gave up.

And then one day my dog alarm come alive again! And this time he won’t stop barking until I get up. Saying “I’m coming, Chester” has no effect. I need to open the door and greet him. Aiyoooooooooooo Chester!!!

A slight noise like the knock of my bangles against the bed or sighing will set this wild, uncontrollable alarm off too!

And if I try to turn a deaf ear to his barking?

My mom would say this to Chester “Call Amy.”

SHITTTTTT

But then sometimes when I try to wake my sister up and she won’t? I’d say to Chester “Call sis.”

And when my sister wants to take revenge on me, she’ll say to Chester “Call Amy.”

SHITTTTT (I’m in a lose-lose situation here hahaha)

Then there’s also some rare mornings where I’ll wake up before my dog alarm go off. I love to slowly creep out of bed, open the door and surprise my dog. Haha

But he’ll get back at me. Oh yeah. OoO yeah!!!

So that’s the story of my ‘real’ dog alarm.

You thought I would just stop with 2 Golla products? As a matter of fact I did. Haha This 3rd Golla product, a GPS bag was purchased by my sis. It’s a real cutie.

My sis took a very very long time contemplating (how long? even after I’ve bought my 2 bags) whether to buy this one or another one which is larger in size called the Day Tripper L. In the end she chooses this one because she only wants to fit the GPS in the bag. Day Tripper L is good if you want to keep accessories or other stuffs.

Noah uses VOIP on iPod Touch which doesn’t need the use of cellular carrier. Cool eh? Another friend of mine, Candy who recently bought a new iPhone asked me for opinion about apps for iPhone. I of course have no expertise in this area.

Introduces Noah to Candy and they immediately click leaving me behind. *fuming* After Noah had helped setting up Candy’s iPhone VOIP both of them are treating me to a lunch meal. Wehee! Not bad eh for helping friends. Hehe

I bought my first laptop late last December. However until now my laptop has no clothes to wear. Haha Do you know what I mean? It means I don’t have a laptop bag.

Well, after Saturday I’m proud to announce my laptop is nude no more (borrow the famous quote from Threadless). LOL

After getting a Golla camera bag for my camera lens I went to look for a laptop bag. At first I thought of getting a Targus backpack but after looking at a few Golla laptop backpacks I decided to get another Golla product. They are after all much more prettier (not the boring black) and besides they’re cheaper compared to Targus. Plus I love the funky designs and bold colors used in Golla bags.

This bag is actually a 2008 collection but ahh I don’t care. As long as I like the design.

My Golla Laptop Backpack: FESTIVAL Brown 15.4″ G369

At first I wasn’t very keen on the shape of this backpack because it looks a bit like a turtle shell.

Say hello to Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles (TNMT)! Haha But this laptop backpack looks really slim which is something I really want. I hate those bulky type ones.

It has 3 compartments. First compartment consist of several see-through pockets with zippers. Second compartment is suitable for keeping files and books. I can even fit my DSLR camera in here. Laptop backpack = camera backpack. Not bad.

The third is a side and padded compartment which is for laptop. It fits a 15.4″ laptop. Mine’s 14″ fit just nice with a little space to spare. So I wonder. Can it fits a 15.4″ laptop seriously? I dunno.

At the handle top is another small compartment.

Love the bent zipper edge.

Most important, I love the ‘swirling’ design.

I was looking at another similar backpack which is red in color with the same flower design as my Golla lens bag but decided against it. Brown is good. It’s not attention-grabber. Haha
