Hi, it's been a while, how you doing?

Today makes it exactly 2 years to the day since CHANNEL-3 was officially launched and the first income was generated. Business. Things have been very quiet in terms of CHANNEL-3 as a brand, clothing and promotion as of late, I've been working on freelance artwork and design projects, some of which are currently posted on my website http://www.channel-3.co.uk/, some of which will be on there in due course.

For those who are presently unaware, the new 2010 channel-3 website went live over the weekend and can be viewed here...

It feels good to finally get this out there to you, it's been in the pipeline for so long. This is a real new direction and it's the future of channel-3. Artwork & Design.

Take a look around the new site, get familiar, enjoy. There is currently a free desktop background available with more on the way, plus the 1969 ss moon t-shirt design will be available online from late february along with more t-shirts, sweatshirts, posters, and other art, all on the way.

Keep an eye out because constant updates are now iminant. It's tweek week all this week then main promotion from next. So take this site as a sort of BETA version this week, so please do give me a shout if you notice any problems/issues etc. Ironing out the creases.

- Paper Shoes by Bristol based illustrator David Brownings.

David is currently in his 2nd year at UWE doing illustration. Common posted these paper shoes on his own blog, Think common, last month after peeping them via LikeCool. For those who are presently unaware; Common is a Chicago born rapper/hip-hop star and actor (he can be seen in a number of blockbusting films including Wanted, Smokin' Aces, American Gangster, and Terminator Salvation). It's good to see, and inspiring for other designers like myself, that design work from so close to home (Bristol is about a 2 hour drive from where I am in Plymouth) can connect with people on such a global level. Good work DB!

Wish I had seen the newer GITD tour, the one with the solo space ship stage design, we went to the Plymouth show in November of 2007 where it was the original older stage, pre-europe. NASA HAVE FOUND WATER ON THE MOON.

"What exactly has Nasa found?
The equivalent of 24 gallons of frozen water, mixed in with the rock and dust that was thrown into the air when a rocket was deliberately crashed into a crater near the Moon's south pole last month. It is far from the science fiction fantasy of an underground lake, but still pretty impressive for a satellite long dismissed as arid and dull.

Didn't we know there was water on the Moon already?
Scientists have long suspected that there was water on the Moon, but have struggled to prove it. The sensors on orbital craft have detected evidence of hydrogen on the lunar surface, but the quantities were tiny. A major breakthrough came last September, when India announced that its Chandrayaan-1 craft had detected that chemical reactions producing water are still taking place.

Where does the water come from?
No one is certain. One theory suggests that hydrogen released by the Sun in solar winds could have reacted with compounds containing oxygen in the Moon rock, producing tiny amounts of H20. Another explanation proposes that the water came from vapour produced when comets and meteors crashed into the Moon's surface.

What does this all mean?
Nasa has been so keen to find water on the Moon because it brings the dream of a permanent lunar base one step closer. If water exists in the quantities that Nasa now believes, it could be drunk by astronauts, turned into oxygen to make stations inhabitable and – most excitingly – converted into fuel. The Moon could then become the space equivalent of a service station – acting as a staging post for manned missions to Mars."
