Great turnout!

The night’s diverse concert will feature songs by composers representing each letter of the alphabet.

Tickets are on sale at the Rudder Box Office for $5.

After the concert will be a meeting of all Century Singers Formers in Rudder 401 to discussed proposed bylaws changes, so be sure to stay after for refreshments and the meeting!

Many formers have expressed interest in the Century Singers t-shirts we sold this year, so we have decided to re-order them and open up the opportunity to all formers.

The shirt, as depicted in the attachment, is being sold for $10. If you would like to have the shirt shipped to you, please include an extra $3 for shipping and the address you’d like it shipped to. Another (preferred) option is to buy a shirt and pick it up at our spring concert on April 23^rd!

Attention Former Century Singers!

The Association of Former Century Singers (AFCS) has been dormant for quite some time, but in the last year, we have been working hard to revitalize it.  There are so many Formers out there that if we come together, we could do amazing things for the current members of the group.  And hey, we Formers could get together and talk about the days of Old Army!  This can’t happen without you guys.

We are trying to put together a newsletter, an e-mail blast, social activities for Formers, and many other things that will help get our Association alive and kicking again.  What we need from you is a current e-mail address and your snail mail address, which you can submit using the form below:

Howdy! We want to personally invite all you Formers to join us at the annual Holiday Spirit of Aggieland concert, to be presented on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at 3:00 pm in the Rudder Auditorium.

Our group, the Association of Former Century Singers (AFCS) will be hosting an informal get-together prior to the concert, at 1:30 pm in the new (temporary) home of the Choral Activities Organization in the basement of the *Commons* area, which is in the Aston-Dunn-Mosher-Krueger residence hall complex.

We would really love to see as many Formers as possible at the concert, and at the open house so we can catch up with you all. We had great turnouts of Formers of all generations at the President’s Concerts in Austin and Houston last spring, and we want to keep the momentum going so we can join together and build a great organization.

Please take a look at your calendars, and set aside time on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, to come support the Century Singers and the Association of Former Century Singers. We hope to see you all there!

Here is a little bit of info from Gregg:

I am the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2010 (A-WHOOP!), and have been in Century Singers since my freshman year, at the suggestion of my older brother, Steven Kite (for any of you who may know him), and my love for the group has continued to grow all six semesters I have been a member, and even goes on now during this seventh as the new pollards get acclimated to their producers and begin to get more involved. I’m also extremely proud of my own pollard family, which is now dominating about an eighth of the choir. Century Singers has been the focus of my life for the past three years, and I intend to help make this group as coherent as possible, so that the transition into the real world will be easier for those who leave, and so that those who have even the slightest bit of nostalgia will have a place to turn to reminisce.
