Here are some piecies of Aris Geldis‘ jewelry to bedazzle you… They’re all made from gold or silver plated brass and Swarovski crystals.

The earrings are my favourite =) The gorgeous dresses are by Spijkers en Spijkers and the silicon belts are from Alldressedup.

I gave you a preview of the cape in my last post on Antonia. But here are the pieces in the ‘flesh’. All the garments are made in Germany. I have never come across clothes made in Germany before, except maybe  for some exquisite vintage pieces.  All the black dresses, leggings and capes are made from wool or wool jersey. They are so wearable and warm. The gorgeous printed kaftan dresses are made from silk georgette.

This is my favourite look – the cape is paired with Karla Spetic’s velvet skirt and the mannequins is adored with an exquisite necklace made from real Swarovski crystals (they’re huge!) by Aris Geldis Paris. She looks demure, classy. Simple elegance, in a nutshell.

The mannequin on the left is clothed in one of Antonia’s stunning silk georgette creations, in rabbit print- can you see the rabbit head on the chest? The print of the dresses are in perfect symmetry. One is sure to stand out in the crowd and attract many many admiring glances in one of these creations. The dress can be worn belted, layered or free and flowing.

The black dress is ‘lined’, front and back. There are more lines on the back and when one moves in the dress, the lines dance. The mannequin on the right is also wearing a neck piece by Aris Geldis paris.

Antonia’s pieces are limited. Our capes were sold out within a week! I was going to wait some time until I purchased the Ruffle dress but I didn’t want to miss out again! So here it is, in the flesh..

I’ve paired it up with stockings with bows and Repetto booties. On my first day of wearing these booties, I stood for 10 hours straight. These French heels are the most comfortable shoes I own. The necklace is a vintage favourite.

Whoever is lucky enough to own anything made by her will attract many ‘compliments-per-wear.’ I cannot wait to see Antonia at Fashion week in Paris and try on her new collection!

Day One: Aris Geldis Paris jewelry arrived after waiting for the pieces for a few months! All the neck pieces, bracelets and earrings are hand-made in Paris in his atelier in Paris. Aris Geldis used to design the haute couture jewelry for Christian Lacroix. He now designs free-lance for Chanel and Givenchy. More on him on a later post =)

Day Two: Antonia Goy arrived- to say how excited I was and how much I am in love with her pieces would be an understatement. I’ve never fallen in love with an entire collection like I have with Antonia’s. I would wear every single piece. You can see her collection on our Shop Chic blog, here.

Day Three: Sara Phillips visited my boutique. I did not recognize her with her cute warfare Rayban glasses. But I somehow knew she was in the fashion industry after learning that she was from Sydney and that she doesn’t go shopping much. I cannot believe I did not click when she told me that she’s friends with Karla Spetic whilst browsing Karla’s pieces. She was so lovely to let me have a photo with her and her friend. I was quite awe-struck, I hope I didn’t say anything ridiculous…

Here’s Sara Phillips, a photo you may be familiar with from Vogue. The Iris dress from her AW10 collection has received a lot of press, it’s so pretty!

I’m no model, but here’s a shot of me outside the boutique. In my opinion, this tree is prettier than me.

In case you were wondering what I was wearing, here are the details:

Spijkers en Spijkers Big Star Top, Dr. Denim Jeans, vintage Maltese cross necklace, gold ring, snake-skin belt and velvet heels.

These jeans are a good investment. I like Dr. Denim’s slogan ‘A matter of life and denim’.

I used to live in denim, now I am clad in dresses and stockings, but every now and then I still try to squeeze into some jeans. I think it was my Dr Denim jeans that caught Sara Phillips’ eye.

Wearing matching hats, Sean’s on a step! I guess it’s every musician’s dream to snag a pretty model. Think Kate Moss and Jamie Hince, Irina Lazareanu and Pete Doherty,  Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg…you name it! I guess musicians may be more interesting to date than actors…

Eclectic style is an understatement when describing Charlotte’s unique attires. I remember seeing Charlotte for the first time in this picture and I didn’t think twice about having to blog about her. The kimono is stunning, the bag is cute, but the blue lips! They are what kills me.

Charlotte is happy in her heels as well as in Converse sneakers. With a figure and a face like hers, she can wear (and get away with) anything. The musician and his muse in front of the Ritz- what a darling couple. I secretly like Sean’s coat and did you notice that they’re wearing matching shoes! How sweet!

You may have seen this ad in magazines or on the bill boards in Paris.  Zadig & Voltaire casted the dynamic duo for their couples ad, see the Eiffel behind them? I’m sure their appearance drew many to the stores.

The only time you will see Charlotte by herself is for an editorial. Cuddling a monkey and wearing sheer couldn’t get more sexy… And yes she’s definitely with the band. Pictures from L’Officiel Russia Feb 2010.

Not just a pretty face,  also a fabulous body. Loving all of her outfits, whether it’s heavily Gothic-inspired, toyed with vintage lace or simply divine and demure. Who’s game enough to channel her?

I found a picture of her (right) when she was of tender age. Even then, she was stunning.

And oh, she likes shopping too! Here she is with the same fluffy bag as she was wearing with her blue kimono. Oh no, where’s Sean? Probably paying for it already at the counter.

Ah…the MeMy showroom was a dream. I felt like I was in candy land, eye-candy-land. There was a lovely designer around every corner showcasing their exquisite pieces, waiting for the right buyers ‘acheter’ to chose their collection for their boutiques. I wanted to support them all but I had to be brutal. The Von Koontz collection sent me on a style high and I nearly, so close, chose the label for my boutique. Maybe next time, I hope.

This was my favourite dress from her AW10 collection. A modern dress in a timeless hue, the perfect little cocktail dress. Can you see my blue patent Pauric Sweeney bag in the background or are you distracted by the colourful dresses?

You know how much I love nude, this colour is my perenial favourite. This silk dress is a classic, I can see the First Lady wearing this.

Here’s the back, or backless,  what a charming dress. The length is perfect and there’s a slit for the lady who likes to take big strides, like me =)

Sorry if you don’t like fur, but we’re talking about an Italian designer.  You know how much Italians love fur. This furry scarf is really sweet. The black spikes are made from bone and joined by a leather chain to the fur scarf. I’m wearing my Miss Sixty cardigan, Nudie jeans and vintage accessories.

Meet the beautiful designer – Kimberley Von Koontz.

Here’s Kimberley modeling her gorgeous reversible wool coat for me. Don’t you love her booties! Europeans are so fashionable.

This printed sleeveless dress channels 60s mod and is remniscent of a certain exoskeleton.. the neckpiece is the one I was wearing.

For fur lovers, this short-sleeve jacket stole my heart. It’s also reversible and so warm. It was freezing outside in Paris, I wanted to buy this from her show rack and coccon myself in it. The reason why I decided not to stock this amazing label is fur. Melbournians are still quite sensitive when it comes to animal hides, so I decided to put the label on hold.

I hope to see Kimberley again at Fashion Week in September!

Dear reader, let me know your views on fur.

Recently I had a major wardrobe cleanup. I am a major hoarder and have way too much for what I am incapable of wearing. So finally after putting my foot down firmly (and  taking a few bags to the local vintage shops), I have made some progress.

One rack got special attention. This is my work wardrobe rack standing behind me. It contains some pieces I own from the boutique paired with my vintage pieces. I have decided to let this rack be my main rack and the rest of my wardrobe is the ’storage’ and I will rotate garments periodically. That is the plan.

Wearing a vintage top and cardigan with my tallest Marc Jacobs heart heels. I’m trying to wear my more ordinary shoes out (see in the background) before I wear the pairs I treasure, still sitting pretty in their boxes.

Do you remember that Karla Spetic cardigan I liked to wear up side down? See here =) I tested it on this vintage stripy number. See how the horizontal stripes became vertical? It’s magic! Oh by the way, Karla’s last name is pronounced ‘Sh-peti-ch’!

There may be some pieces you can recognize from the rack. Like the Zara tweed jacket in the middle of the rack, as seen here, or the vintage green dress, gifted by my auntie, at the end of the clothes stand, as seen here…

This top is one of my favourite vintage finds, it has gold lines all through it. Labelled a size 14, it still fits well and you should never judge a garment by its labelled size. Always try it on and see how it fits. The Chloe horse-shoe necklace is also a very lucky vintage find.

And since we’re on the topic of ‘rings’, recently I got  2 new rings- a squirrel, gifted by the beautiful Jess from whatwouldkarldo blog, and a lion. I love animal rings, they are finger pets!

This is the collection I chose for the boutique. All the black garments are made from 100% wool jersey so they are a dream to wear in winter. Berlin gets so cold in winter!  The dresses have a futuristic spin but are so wearable. I love the leggings with the knee pads (very first garment on the rack).

This was my favourite dress- the chiffon Ruffly dress, it was actually two dresses (can be worn together or separate) in one. I remember taking a billion years to get it on in the hotel toilet at the Ritz, because there wasn’t a mirror in the toilet. In the end, Antonia came to my rescue. How embarrassing!

Love the shoulder pads on this one. The neck piece is removable. The cascading curls double as a necklace as well as as scarf. You can see a glimpse of the silk dresses on Antonia’s right.

This dress is going to be my winter staple. I cannot wait to wear it with leggings. It reminds me of the gladiator tunics. This dress calls for a statement belt.

Here is Antonia showing me how to wear one of her silk creations. Look at the lines and the colours!  These dresses are trans-seasonal, you can wear them layered over your winter attire and still wow a crowd at the beach in a bikini in summer.

An apron dress that will certainly make you stand out from the crowd. I love the ruching details and the symmetry. Yeah those colourful sneakers are pretty cool too. But I’m more of a heels girl.

The print on this one is just gorgeous. Be sure to get noticed in these dresses! ‘Guten tag!’

Kristofferson munching on a corn kernel, isn’t he adorable?

Kristofferson has settled in well at home, Theodore is not a big fan of him, here is a photo for your viewing pleasure.

I watched the movie on the way back from Paris Fashion Week on the plane and it was fabulous entertainment. I have not stopped raving on about it to my friends. If you have not watched Fantastic Mr. Fox- I highly recommend it. Watch how the wild animals outsmart  humans. Kristofferson is the fox in blue PJ’s on the left.

My adventure with Kristofferson begins! He is a very friendly rat, and a curious one at that. I forgot to shut his cage door one night and he went exploring our laundry room. He found all the dog biscuits under the washing machine to munch on and returned back to his cage the next day. Talk about the ‘prodigal rodent’! Oh, and I think he chewed on some wires and destroyed our washing machine….

Rats are so intelligent. I will not take Kristofferson for granted, that’s for sure!

AW09 Runway in Singapore.

Luxury Internet store Net-A-Porter also stocks Alldressedup. In fact, that was where I was first introduced to the label. Our boutique is currently their only Australian stockist. We are lucky enough to have a very large range from their SS10 collection (see below).  On my summer holiday last year in Singapore, I visited the concept store and the AW09 collection blew me away. I adored all the necklaces!

When asked about the name of the label, ‘I was all dressed up at the age of six!’ explains founder and creator Tina Tan-Leo referring to the philosophy and inspiration behind her Singapore-based label.

I met Tina in March earlier in the year in Paris at Fashion Week. She is one stylish lady! With 30 years of experience in the luxury and fashion retail business, Tina takes her inspiration from ‘the bohemian spirited traveler in every women who owns her style’ and chic urban women who are not swayed by fleeting seasonal trends. For spring summer 2010, Alldressedup present vivid jewel tones, lavish draping and exquisite detailing including knotting, ruching and ruffles. The collection is named ‘Pop Asia’, each garment is named after a city in Asia and each accessory (necklace, bag, passport holder) is named after a holiday resort in Asia.

Here are some pictures of their current season, the colours are literally ‘eye-popping’. The coral ‘dress’ in the second picture is actually a jumpsuit, we stock it in the black, and we have the blue bag!
