Well, I got the iPhone 3G back in August before the Droid teasers started coming out. I've played with the G1 and the MyTouch, but neither really grabbed me. I love the idea of the Android platform, and I'm glad that it's a serious contender to the iPhone, but it's still playing catch up. The only thing that had me hesitant with getting the iPhone was dealing with AT&T. But so far, they haven't been an issue.

Another option you have is the Motorola Cliq with MOTOBLUR. It's based on Android but has a different front-end UI. Not sure which carriers will get it. (I think T-Mo might be one of them.)

Yeah, some of these apps mentioned that they suggest using a handheld scanner to scan the barcodes. At Food Lion they used one of the "flatbed" scanners which, I would imagine, wouldn't be as able to read the barcode. In my design, I think one of the issues with it is the barcode is too small. Plus, having it oriented the way it is could potentially be an issue. Since I had it stored in Photos, it rotates when you change orientation of the phone... could make scanning the barcode more difficult.

Actually, some Starbucks stores (none here in Columbia) can actually can scan a barcode on their app to charge your starbucks gift cards. If their scanners can do it, I imagine the ones at grocery stores would work too. Worth trying out. Definitely going to check out some of the apps Wes mentioned.

Did you consider the new Droid? What were your thoughts, reason for not going with it? I've been seriously eye-balling it for when my T-Mobile contract ends (although rumors abound that a very similar phone is coming to T-Mobile soon).

I need new business cards because one of my cats knocked the last pack of 200 cards I had off the counter and into her water bowl. That's a true story. Tell you what... you give me the cards, I'll give you a gently-used, slightly obese cat. Deal? deal.

Fireworks also supports PNG-32? Photoshop doesn’t have that.

This is actually very incorrect. Photoshop supports PNG-32 just fine, even though it labels it as 24 (wrongly). It's counting 8-bits for just RGB and the 8-bit transparency as optional. I presume it's done this way because the transparency can be toggled on/off, rather than having to choose another setting between 24/32. I can see how this would be confusing.
