New Youtube Channel for Google Mobile

Google Mobile has just got an upgraded feature in place for its users, in the form of a new YouTube channel, which sports a new look and more.

By now, some of you may have noticed our new Google Mobile YouTube channel, with a fresh look that includes a video box that rotates among multiple axes (we love the Rubiks Cube here at Google), a recent post on Google Mobile Blog reads.

According to Google, the box can turn in many ways, and those who will access YouTube from their mobile phones should be able to enjoy all of them while they are searching for new videos.

In our channels featured section, we highlight some of our mobile search capabilities -- like search by voice, sight, and location -- that really help you take advantage of your phones unique technology, the development team notes.

Many mobile phone users might have not come across these search models until now, and Google is set to explain to them how things work via some new videos.

To start with, check out our Shoot This series of videos for Google Goggles. Goggles can actually recognize much more than just bar codes and book covers, and these videos really let you take Goggles for a test drive, Google continued.

The embedded annotations should offer users the possibility to easily navigate through videos through fast-forward or rewind.

Other features are also in place for mobile phone users, it seems: When looking at all apps, you can not only check out any of our latest videos at a glance, but also quickly sort them by mobile platform or by app.

Moreover, Google announced a series of other enhancements too, including the possibility to easily share videos via email or through popular social networking sites.

New videos should soon be added to the new Google Mobile YouTube channel.

All that users would need top to is to hit this link and subscribe to the channel. Those already subscribed to the old channel would have to subscribe to the new one separately.

Oracle sues Google over Java copyright infringement on Android

Better late than never I suppose. It looks like Oracle has finally completed some copyright research and found out that Googles Android operating system uses a little language called Java that they picked up with the Sun Microsystems purchase earlier this year. Oracle issued a press release saying that Googles Android and the Dalvik Virtual Machine infringes on 7 US patents.

There is no word on the exact technical details of the patents, but Oracle did say that,

Google has been aware of Suns patent portfolio, including the patents at issue, since the middle of this decade, when Google hired certain former Sun Java engineers.

When developers and engineers fight over this intellectual property stuff, it sure does get ugly. Google has not had a chance to respond to the claims of the suit as they have not yet been served. This looks like its going to be one of those ugly, drawn-out intellectual property fights that will eventually become so confusing and expensive for both sides that it wasnt really worth the fight to begin with.

There is not much more to say at this point as the story is developing so we will keep a look out on any official word from Google.

Since a couple of days Anderweb is teasing the ADW.Launcher User with
Screenshots of the upcoming 1.0 Version.

Of course they are awesome and the whole Android Community was waiting
for the new release.

Tonight is the night. ADW.Launcher 1.0.0 hits the Market and our Download
Section is allready updated with the flashable System Version vor
Donut. Eclair and Froyo will be coming soon.

The major change of this Version is the build in Theme Support. As of
today the user can now pimp his Launcher with Custom or self made
Themes. As usual there are also a lot of bugfixes and tweaks, but the
biggest Step is definatly the Theme Management.

    The System version is intended to be a direct replacement for the standard Home.

Wir, as in Mario und ich, kamen die Tage ueber Umwege zu geekoiden Shirts und da zu den Vertretern der Gattung "fail hard!". Geeks, Nerds und andere Sonderlinge erfreuen sich in der Regel an Oberbekleidung mit grossflaechig appliziertem Code, Piktogrammen oder sonstigen, ihrem Fachgebiet zugeordneten, Aussagen. Diese sollen von Aussenstehenden moeglichst nicht verstanden werden, um den "Gnihihihi, er/sie hats nicht verstanden!!!1!"-Effekt nicht zu gefaehrden. "There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't" ist ein entsprechendes Beispiel. Nicht verstanden? Gnihihihih. Zur Not mal hier mal nachlesen. Binaer wird es spaeter auch noch einmal. Nun aber zum ersten meiner Top Two der Shirt Fails.

"Unix is sexy". Ausgedrueckt werden soll dies durch die vermeindlich geschickte Verknuepfung verschiedener Kommandos die nacheinander ablaufen. Ungefaehr so: "who | grep -i blonde | date && cd ~; unzip; touch; strip; finger; mount; yes; umount; make clean; sleep" (1). Dies soll eine vielen Shirttraegern unbekannte Situation beschreiben: Das erfolgreiche Werben und Balzen eines Troglodyten um ein blondes Weibchen mit anschliessendem Koitus in der eigenen Hoehle. Erwerben kann man so ein Shirt z.B. hier. Oder bei getdigital.de. Nur dort in einer imo unlustigen, unterbrochenen Variante. Bereits 2003 haben wir bei einer Sammelbestellung bei getdigital.de nach etwas Mailverkehr und einem "Dann habe ich den Witz auch nicht verstanden" sowie "da ist was dran... vielleicht ändern wir das Shirt" der Betreiber eine Sonderedition mit allen ";" bekommen. Danke. Geaendert hat sich am Design aber bis heute nichts, und auch auch auf anderen Shirts setzt sich das fort. Besonders huebsch finde ich die eingesandten Photos stolzer "Unix is sexy"-Shirt Traeger, als Beweis der eigenen Kompetenz und Ueberlegenheit vor Microsoft Messestaenden posierend. For teh lulz! Da Fefe ja momentan Werbung fuer getdigital.de macht, kann er vielleicht Nachhilfe geben. (Kritisch. Shitstorm inc?)

Aber nun wird es episch. Oder anders gesagt: It's going to be legen, w1000 100 it, DARY! Der Spreadshirt Usernipheon hatte bis ungelogen gestern dieses tolle Shirt (Soup.io .jpg) im Angebot. Google Cache hat es noch: Nerds-1000 EVER! Und als "Insidergag" kaeme die "4 in Bit-Schreibweise", schreibt nipheon. Gnihihihihi. Merke: Binaer 100 ist Dezimal 4 und Binaer 1000 ist Dezimal 8. Das kann man, weil relevant, noch bei Wikipedia nachlesen. Auch wenn das Shirt seit gestern nicht mehr zu bestellen ist, verfahre ich ganz frei nach dem Motto "fail is temporary, glory is 100-ever!" und behalte ihn im Herzen. Immerhin gibt es ja eine richtige Variante in schwarz, die man auch als weisses Shirt mit weisser Schrift ordern kann. m(

Nun aber zum Geschaeft. The Hipstery verkauft einem fuer $25 ein T-Shirt, dessen Motiv nicht vom Kunden selber sondern anhand einer von T-Shirt-Wissenschaftlern durchgefuehrten Psychoanalyse des Kunden ausgewaehlt wird. Freudentraenen garantiert. Und wenn es nicht gefaellt? Macht nichts, der finanzielle Verlust ist laut Anbieter ja ueberschaubar. Angeregt durch diese grandiose Idee biete ich ab sofort fuer nur unglaubliche, auf mein Konto bei der First National Bank Niederlaendische Antillen anzuweisende 150 Euro (Kunden aus Griechenland und Frankreich zahlen nur 1500 Euro) eine Scheibe Dauerwurst, deren Geschmacksrichtung von fuehrenden Wurstologen anerkannter psychosozialer Einrichtungen anhand eines genau ermittelten Kundenprofils bestimmt wird.
