On a whim I wondered what it would look like if I took a still image with my S90 every couple of minutes/hours on my recent weekend trip to Singapore and then made a time lapse from it. For the motorcycle shots I fabricated a neck strap from an iPhone cable and some masking tape that the hotel gave me. Kind of like a cheap version of the Microsoft SenseCam

If you look hard, when I deplane on the Tokyo to Singapore flight you can see my Uncle and me - he was randomly on the same flight.

L'idée : Clip hommage à Serge Gainsbourg. Sorte de voyage dans le temps à travers les superpositions de graffitis du 5bis rue de Verneuil depuis ces 5 dernières années.

- 5 ans de prises de vues superposées. Des milliers de photos.
- 40 générations de recouvrement de graffitis. (30 visibles dans la vidéo faute de temps)
- Partie droite du mur non encore traitée.
- Source en FullHD 1080P 1920x1080 et supérieur.

Si un jour un musée voit le jour rue de Verneuil, cela aurait aussi fonction de "témoignage" de l'histoire de ce lieu et des inscriptions qui y ont été laissées.

Mr Johann Sfar, est visible dans ce clip (photos prises sur le tournage rue de Verneuil) et bien qu'il s'agisse d'un projet personnel de graphiste, il a tous les droits sur son image... J'espère cependant qu'il me donnera son autorisation. Son oeuvre, bien qu'éphémère, fait parti de l'histoire de ce mur.

La musique vient d'un album remix de Serge Gainsbourg : "I Love Serge Electronic Againsbourg" et le titre en question est "L' Hôtel Particulier"

Avalanche Skier POV Helmet Cam Burial & Rescue in Haines, Alaska

In April of 2008 I drove from Lake Tahoe to Haines, Alaska up the Al-Can highway through British Columbia and the Yukon with an enclosed 4-snowmobile trailer and a ton of gear. I told myself the year before after a few years of getting "shut out" with heli time, that I wouldn't come back up without snowmobiles....instead of sitting around drinking myself into oblivion on a "down day."

Well thank God we did that because we definitely had down days again right from the get-go. The sledding up at Haines Pass is out of control good. Even staying closer to town like below Old Faithful is great. Can't say enough about how much fun it is to ride snowmobiles up there with no trees.

So the first legit day after that main snow storm cycle, we still went out snowmobiling one more time wanting to let the snow set up a bit more....while another part of our group went up in the bird. Actually two groups went up in the bird, and the first group did all the normal day-after-storm-cycle snow pit and snow quality tests.

The first group decided that while the dangers remained elevated, that it was good to go. They all made some of the sickest pow turns in their lives I was told. The next group then - a couple hundred meters or so over - set up for their descent.

The guy in the video was the first one to drop from their group and while not a guide, he had a lot of Utah and AK backcountry experience. He had a Black Diamond Avalung on, but as you can tell from the video while he's talking as he's dropping in, it wasn't in his mouth to start. He tried to shove it in the instant of starting to get sucked down, but it didn't stay in fully during his ragdoll descent. It was just off to the corner of his mouth he said, and he definitely got some snow / ice in his mouth still.

So as he drops in you can also see the sluff to the skier's right immediately start building....and that's actually the chute that was the intended route down. For whatever reason - well pure, unadulterated powder will do it to you - he didn't go make some strong "skier cuts" into the upper pack to do one final snow check as instructed by the main guide who was doing the "tail gunner" work.

Instead he just sent it. And it didn't take more than a few turns out on this big shoulder above this cliff band to break loose.

This was a decent sized avalanche. 1,500 feet the dude fell in a little over 20 seconds. The crown was about 1 - 1.5m. The chute that he got sucked through to the skier's right was flanked on either side by cliff bands that were about 30m tall. He luckily didn't break any bones and obviously didn't hit anything on the run out.

He was only buried for 4 and a half minutes which is incredibly short. I cannot stress these next sentences enough; that in and of itself to be unburied in ONLY 4:28 is miraculous if you have any understanding of being caught in an avalanche and what it takes to be found. It could literally be some kind of "world record" just on how good the guide and supporting cast of other skiers was in getting to him. It also shows why you should ALWAYS be going with people trained in avalanche rescue / first aid....as well as why you'd want to be going with a guided heli operation. Sure this was terrifying for him, but he would've probably been dead if not for going with a guide.

He also got very lucky to be honest. In the time that he's buried, you can hear his breathing already accelerate. The ruffling noise back and forth is his chest rising and falling and the noise that his jacket makes. The intermittent whimpering noise you hear is him trying to swallow and get some air since the avalung wasn't fully in his mouth and instead just to the corner of his mouth. Still sends chills up the back of my neck. Oh...the luck? They located him so fast because his right glove came off just before he came completley to rest and there was an excellent visual of course.

And then the digging out is utterly amazing. I don't think that you could've paid a Hollywood crew to stage something better. The fact that he could've been facing any 360 direction and yet he's looking right up into the sun-filled blue sky with that first full scoop away of the shovel is borderline spiritual.

This is simply a very sobering and unbelievable video. However, you should take away from this video all the positive things that you can learn from it. Yes there are risks to the backcountry - but with proper gear, training, and guide(s) with avalanche and EMT training - you can greatly lower your chances of getting caught in an avalanche in the first place.....and coming back alive if you ever were to get caught in a slide.

Respect Mother Nature for sure. Learn from this. But just like a Craig Kelly in the snowboard world or a Shane McConkey in the ski world who died out in the backcountry (Craig via avalanche and Shane via ski B.A.S.E. jumping), they left this earth while doing the things that they were truly passionate about. And while they would stress the need for the proper gear and training....neither one would want backcountry enthusiasts to curtail their adventures because of their accidents....or this video.

Please check with your local resort for classes on backcountry training, or try starting with a place like AIARE - the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Training. Their website is avtraining.org.

Additional info:
- I never finished my original goal of walking to Germany. Instead, I walked for a year and roughly 4500km, passed the desert of Gobi, and then decided to stop walking for now.
- All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi has been completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things.
- I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful.
- Obtaining the necessary visa for a trip like this was not very easy, hence I had to go back to Beijing a few times to resolve some issues.
- The songs I used in the video are 1) Zhu Fengbo - "Olive Tree" and 2) The Kingpins - "L'aventurier" - visit the Kingpins website if you want to know more, they are very cool I think.
- This is not a strict "1 pic a day" video, because I wanted to make it a bit more alive by adding some additional movement. Sometimes during the film you would follow me turn around, or something would happen in the background. I tried to capture these moments to make the video more interesting.
- The core of this project is in fact my website "www.thelongestway.com" where I have posted my extensive travel diary, starting from day 1 (Nov 9th 2007) and describing every single day until the end one year later.

The briefing was to show an evolution of computer games.
The documentary itself is about different people, based here in germany, showing their everyday life, and their addiction to the same specific, famous MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game):"Wo.."

Every game character in this prologue was reinterpreted, redrawn (...one pixel at a time), and animated frame by frame.

Letting followers know that fresh goodies are ready right now. But bakeries don't want laptops or phones lying around in the kitchen. Flour, eggs and technology don't mix so well.

So we built BakerTweet.

It's a bespoke piece of hardware (with Arduino-based guts) that allows our friends at Albion across the road to select what's just been baked and ping the relevant Twitter message to local customers. Meaning that you can time your trips to Albion to pick up the freshest freshness.

In June of 2006 I was replacing empty feeders with clean ones and this hummingbird landed on the feeder as I was carrying it to the pole. I stopped instantly and stood perfectly still because motion will scare hummingbirds away. From this came the clips you will see in this video. It would eat from any feeder or cut flower that I would offer. Someone suggested I try to feed it directly from my palm and success came the first day I tried. This hummingbird continued this behavior until his 2006 migration to Central America. In April of 2007 he returned to the same little plot of land in Louisville, Ky for more of the same behavior. Par cette impressionnante performance, l'artiste aura sans doute voulu exprimer la détresse du pauvre internaute face à son reader qui reste bien silencieux en ce jour de léthargie hebdomadaire. C'est un acte militant visant à soutenir l'élargissement du domaine d'application de la loi pour le travail le dimanche à la blogosphère internationale.

Cette séquence a été tournée à l'improviste dans les caves d'Abbey Road que les spécialistes connaissent sous le nom de studio "Kitch Tahiti Beach"

Imagine a Mac OS touch is little project about what's news if the computer was touch.

Dock :
The dock need to keep the "magnification" like all Max OS X.
A long push can open an animated menu (like the right click)

iTunes :
The window is optimised to have a large CoverFlow.
New animations : stacks, random, fusion.

iPhoto :
Like iTunes a new navigation optimised for a best visibility.
Sort menu, made for sort photos of an album :
- to keep a photo, drag it on the left or right side of the screen
- to put the photo in an other album choice the album tool (down)
- to modify your shot use modify tool (up)
- to rotate a photo use two fingers and rotate it in the good sense
- to remove a photo erase it like in the animation

Pages :
3 modes to write :
- Keyboard (customisable, specialy for doveloppers ^^)
- Draw it (useful for index and specials caracters)
- Tell it
To delete a part of text, select it and shake it !

GarageBand :
Possibility to use many keybord in the same time
Made custumisable table for DJing (like Logic) with GarageBand effects (Bitcrusher, Overdrive...)
Possibility to play with your friend on-line to make music and share your tables

I had many others ideas but add it in the animation were so long.... ^^
