Mt. Washington is hungry for a new local sit down restaurant option that will serve as a social space in the community and draw young families to the area.

Combined with ideas on a community garden vocally supported at the meeting, a hyperlocal restaurant could likely make a large impact immediately, giving the residents a place to walk to, hang out at, and spend some cash.

So, investors and restaurateurs, I know of at least 40 dedicated advocates (and, if those 40 were representative of the community, many many more) that would gladly support and market this option. Go, check out this great community and see the opportunity to add some interest to a unique Cincinnati neighborhood.
Within 30 minutes of getting home (go ahead and try to leave a cupcake
box untouched), the Coconut cupcake was divided and conquered, a
delicious victory. As mightily as I tried, the cupcake box called me
back for a second round later. The second cupcake, Peanut Butter Cup, is definitely for peanut butter fanatics, the peanut butter frosting was perfect for me, but was a bit too rich for my fiancee.

Still waiting to be eaten are Maple Buttermilk, Vanilla Buttercream on Vanilla, and Carrot Cake. On January 25th, MiCA's original O'Bryonville store will bid adieu and join up with its sister store, MiCA 12/v in Over-the-Rhine. The new combined store will feature lines that were previously exclusive to each MiCA location. While both stores saw an increase in holiday shopping in 2009, owners Mike and Carolyn Deininger decided to combine their resources into one store in order to work on product development, their own artwork, and to give the full attention of both owners to customers at one location.

Mike Deininger said the success of MiCA 12/v and the growing Gateway Quarter area were a large factor in consolidating both stores to the Over-the-Rhine location. "While we have
loved being a part of the O'Bryonville Business District, the early success
and customer loyalty to our second store in OTR's Gateway Quarter has
opened our eyes to the great potential of this historic neighborhood at
Cincinnati's core."

According to co-owner Carolyn Deininger, the extensive customer demand to support Over-the-Rhine's development has been a welcome surprise. "We've had customers
at our O'Bryonville store ask if we can transfer items to the OTR store
because they prefer to buy things there to support that store in that
neighborhood. Our customers care where their money goes, they care
about what those dollars support, and they want to support the positive
changes in Over the Rhine. We love that."

We wish the new combined location much success in 2010 and look forward to seeing all of the store's best lines in one place.
The event starts at 5pm and will culminate at 6pm (midnight in Munich) with German New Year's traditions from delicious to strange. A large, hand-made pretzel will be presented by the chef, fortunes will be told, and a cult classic (in Germany) British 1920s short film will be shown. The Meckelenburg German buffet can be had for $20 and an upgrade buffet including champagne toast for $35.

Fountain Square
Free ice skating, an ice bar, and New Year's fireworks are in store for
Fountain Square for New Year's. The ice bar, a hit during last year's
festivities, is a sight to behold. 20 ft. long and 10 ft. high, this
year's bar features a Red Bull ice luge and faucets that are frozen
inside the bar for ice cold beer. Count down on the Square's big screen
and cap off the night with Rozzi's fireworks.

Know Theatre's Speakeasy Party
If you yearn for the style of the Prohibition days, Know Theatre's New
Year's Eve Party, sponsored by Citybeat, is the place to get down. Play
some Black Jack or Roulette at the game tables, grab a Christian
Moerlein, and dance to Stardust Trio, DJ Aaron Glorius and "that guy
from Okinawa."

NYE @ Grammer's
Following last year's new tradition, Grammer's in OTR will drop a
Cincinnati icon at midnight. In addition to the famed dropping of the
pig, Grammer's will have fireworks, a DJ, and a FREE champagne toast at
midnight. Even better, there's no cover...and man do we hate covers.

Northside Tavern
The Tavern is hosting an appropriately superstar show for New Year's.
Bad Veins, certainly the city's breakout band of 2009 will headline,
supported by lighting love, with more music by our friends at Dance_MF
to keep you dancing into 2010.

After 15 minutes of playing, we were sold, and Quick Count Football made it on our inaugural Holiday Guide.

This year, Jeff and Michelle Spelman are back with a new name and expanded gameplay. Jukem Football builds on Quick Counts strong suits, an easy to play format with a healthy dose of strategy, and makes it easier for fans of all ages to outsmart the competition.

The revamped game brings the opportunity for more players, a
color-coded scoring system, and new types of cards, including "Fumble,
Interception, Blitz, Kick Return, and Pancake Block" along with a
special card that lends its name to the new title.

Because the game was initially created for the couple's children, it makes a great holiday gift for kids. But don't be fooled by the easy to learn gameplay, after a few snaps of Jukem even the most seasoned football pros won't want to stop.

Jukem's website has a full list of the great local stores you can pick the game up this holiday season.
