Verbul to show – „a arăta” – are sensul cel mai general dintre toate:

Verbul to demonstrate – „a arăta”, „a demonstra” se folosește în următoarele contexte:

a) se referă la sentimente personale ale omului manifestate prin acțiuni:

The boy demonstrated his love for the puppy by taking good care of it.
Băiatul își demonstra dragostea față de cățeluș prin faptul că avea grijă de el.
