This weekend at Crosspointe was electric. As we gathered, God's presence was strong! The Crosspointe Band did an amazing job leading us in to worship and I know many lives were changed!

I concluded the series, "Heroes of the Home," and lead five people to Christ! To use a phrase made famous by Pastor Perry Noble, "that never gets old!" I love it. There's nothing sweater. There's nothing better. Those five individuals are only the beginning of what God has in store, as we begin HERO HEADQUARTERS VBS tomorrow night. Our VBS is unlike most and we are believing that this year is going to be the best yet!

This past week was awesome! A week ago, our son, Carter Blaise was born at 10:05 AM at Norman, OK. He weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces and was 19 and 3/4 inches long. Carter and Jennifer are at home resting comfortably. We appreciate the love and support that you have shown to us the last fewweeks.

Father's Day at Crosspointe was incredibly powerful as Pastor Chad lead worship with an (almost) all man band! One of my favorite moments was when he lead the old chorus, "I Exalt Thee" to a new sound. It was off-the-hook!

In addition, a young couple rededicated their lives to Jesus. That never gets old!!! It was an awesome moment!

We are in a series, "Heroes of the Home" and I challenged the Fathers and Men of Crosspointe to be the Spiritual Heroes in their homes. I used the story of Private First Class Ross McGinnis to challenge the father's to be willing to lay their lives down for their families. You can find Ross's story here. The challenge for the week was/is for Crosspointe dad's to outserve their spouse. Do it!!! Many men responded and I was able to encourage them with prayer.

I dedicated three beautiful baby girls to the Lord too. Congratulations to the young families who are raising their girls in Godly homes. It was a special moment for them and me.

It was a great joy to welcome four couples to join our Team of Deacons, yesterday. Congratulations to Roger and Rhonda Cupps, Luke and Michelle Turner, Standle and Christine Anderson, and Tony and Kim Cupps who were unanimously confirmed by the congregation to serve as deacons and deaconesses. We will honor these couples by a "Commissioning to Service" on Sunday, July 11 during our 10:30AM gathering.

On Sunday, I was pleased to announce that two of our staff pastors will be transitioning to new positions to continue to provide excellent ministries for our children. It has always been a high priority of ours to provide awesome ministries for our children. This move is to further provide excellent ministries for the children of Crosspointe. I firmly believe this will take all the children's ministries to the next level!

Here are the transitions...

Pastor Scott Oltmans will transition to leading Crosspointe Kids, which is our ministries for those ages 12 and under. He will also oversee the recruiting and training of the many volunteers who serve at Crosspointe Kids. In addition, Pastor Scott will continue to oversee Crosspointe's Media Ministry.

Pastor Chad Large will transition to leading Elevate Student Ministries by overseeing all junior and senior high ministries. He will oversee the recruiting and training of the many volunteers who serve at Elevate. In addition, Pastor Chad will continue to oversee Connection Groups and Leadership Training.

These transitions will take place during the first part of August and will include new logo's and room designs for many of our ministries. Please prayerfully consider serving in one or more of these impacting ministries.

We (the pastors) will be sharing God's principals that will guide you in loving your spouse, raising your children, brining the Presence of God into your home and reaching your community for Christ.

Today we honored all the graduates of Crosspointe. My childhood friend, Brent Kellogg, Pastor of Cornerstone Church spoke and did an amazing job inspiring our graduates to make wise choices.

The youth band did a great job leading worship and I am so grateful for Pastor Scott and Steffanie's leadership in leading Elevate the past four years. God has used them to raise up a mighty army of young God-servants.

I am super pumped about what God is going to do through "Hero Headquarters" V.B.S., which will be July 19 - 22 at 6:00 PM nightly. It will be an amazing week as we serve the children of our church and community.

Crosspointers, continue to invite people...let's keep the momentum going through the summer months!

The purpose of Crosspointe's Super Summer is to create events where you can get connected to others in a fun environment that is filled with fun and fellowship.

EVENTS - All events will run from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

June 2 - Ice Cream Social at Wintersmith Park - Kiwanis Area
Please bring a carton or gallon of your favorite Ice Cream and meet us at Wintersmith Park. We have the rides, putt-putt golf course, and horse-shoes reserved so there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
June 9 - Star Skate Party & 55 & Better Gospel Singing
Please join us at Star Skate located at 15936 County Road 3563 Loop in Ada to roller-skate with your children!
Just Older Youth (J.O.Y.) will host a Gospel Singing in Crosspointe's Fellowship Hall.
June 16 - Swim Party & 55 & Better Game Night
Please join us at the swimming pool at Wintersmith Park to enjoy a fun-filled evening of swimming and fellowship.

Your Dream will not Outrun your Leadership.

Recently I had an “aha” moment in my leadership as a pastor and boss. Here it is, "my dream will not be able to outrun my leadership ability." One can have a big dream and a comprehensive vision, but without the leadership skills to steward that vision it will not make it to the finish line. And, there will be a high-level of frustration in the heart of the leader and the team. That frustration will show!

A few years ago, I witnessed this very thing. A leader had an amazing dream and strategized a vision to make this dream reality. In the beginning the leader assimilated a highly talented team that were able to cause instant momentum in the organization by their shear ability. There was a highly talented staff, there was excitement, there was momentum, thus all seemed well. However, as time passed those on the team began to realize that the dream was larger than the organizations leadership ability. Frustration quickly grew among the staff and their focus began to become blurry and the momentum quickly halted. In fact, people on the staff began to leave. What could have been an organization with an amazing story, fell apart. It crumbled quickly!

John Maxwell defines leadership as “influence.” In addition, leadership is influence built on character and maintained by integrity. Go the extra mile to develop your leadership skills by reading books, learning from leaders in your life, and studying God’s word as your dream will not outrun your leadership ability.

Our gathering today was very special. God sent a special flow of His spirit to touch many hurting people. I love God's love for the hurting. In fact, when I was spending some time praying a few weeks ago I felt the Holy Spirit reiterate His love for the hurting. His grace is sufficient. I'm honored that I get to facilitate His love to those who need hope and healing.

Today, I encouraged Crosspointers not to be distracted by the pain or noise in this life and to stay tuned in to God's silence. Taking the text from 1 Kings 19 - God spoke to the prophet Elijah in the "still small voice" or "whisper". The Hebrew translation is "silence". Have you ever missed God because you were distracted by the pain or noise in life, which can deafen our ears to the voice of God if we allow. Through Faith, Hope, and Rejoicing (Romans 5) we can be assured that God is with us in the pain of this life. Remember, pain builds character!!!

It was a joy to dedicate Mynni and Anna Dickinson today. They are so cute and are a blessing to their parents and Crosspointe. I love serving children! Afterwards, I had a deep appreciation for the many volunteers who serve weekly in our children's ministries! You guys are Awesome!

I had to play drums on Sunday, which is something I haven't done in a long while. I could see people looking for me and wondering where I was hiding...behind the drums! I thank God for our worship leader Steffanie Oltmans and the Crosspointe Band. You guys are the Best.

I am amazed at the Godly leaders God has placed in my life. Pastor Robert Barriger shared an insightful sermon on Manhood and it impacted our church deeply. Pastor Robert leads a great church of over 10,000 in Lima, Peru called Camino de Vida. You can follow him on twitter by clicking here.

I traveled with Pastor Robert on Sunday evening to New Beginnings Church in Stratford, OK and he brought an inspirational word on bringing God's justice to this world. It was great seeing Pastor Charles and Sharon and the people of NBC.

On Monday, Pastor Robert spent an hour challenging our staff to dream big and prepare for the next level. It was a highlight in my life that I will never forget.

The Crosspointe Band's performance of "Here is our King" was exceptional! Seriously, off the hook - amazing - anointed - the best! Sure, I'm biased because I'm their pastor, but their relentless pursuit to lead us into worship is awesome! I appreciate you all!

Our staff has worked hours to produce, organize and serve our people. You guys are the best and I am so honored to lead you! You are truly the best!

I was able to preach a message entitled, "He is My King..." It was a joy to share. I felt like an evangelist...it was an honor.

The crowd has been the largest in my four year tenure as lead pastor and my six years at the church! There were over 400 people who gathered to worship on Friday and Sunday! Thanks to the many Crosspointers who invited your friends and family!

There were tons of guests in attendance. It was a blast getting to meet and visit with many them/you!

This has been the best Easter that I have ever been a part of as a church leader! It was epic and has given me great insight at what is to come to Crosspointe.

1. This weekend has been incredible! Pam Santos brought a powerful word at the first DIVA Women's Conference and the team from Harvest Church - Antlers did a great job leading worship! The stage design was off the hook and I appreciate everyone who volunteered to make the DIVA Conference a life changing day for many!!! This will not be our last women's event!

2. Palm Sunday was one of the best Sunday's that we've had in a while! Our band is in the best stride that I've witnessed - They are super anointed!!! Pastor Hal of Grace Church at Fairview Heights, IL brought an epic word that challenged us to reach the next generation with a sermon entitled, "When a Child's Life is Changed, Everything Changes!" Crosspointe will never be the same! God is doing some powerful things!

3. I am humbled to lead such an incredible team, staff, church, and family. God is doing some amazing things at Crosspointe and I look forward to seeing what each day holds! Everything we do is for the Cause of Christ.

Here at Crosspointe Church we love kids, and that’s why they are a huge part of the vision we have for Ada and it’s surrounding communities. We believe every child should have the opportunity to hear the gospel and that they should know that having a relationship with God can be and is rewarding and fun. So not only do we learn about our relationship with God here at Crosspointe Kids we have fun doing it.

We are excited about both the present and future of Children's Ministry here at Crosspointe and all that God is doing in the hearts and lives of our children. We believe church should be an experience where kids meet Jesus on their level. I count it a privilege to minister to the kids of Crosspointe.

The most rewarding part of my week is watching them learn about God, grow in biblical character and express their hearts to God through worship.

Ministry is something you cannot do alone and we have in my opinion some of the best volunteers that I’ve ever worked with. They truly care for the Spiritual well being of all our kids, here is a list of our Crosspointe Kids directors.

We are offering an additional Gathering on Easter Weekend (April 4th) and need your help in deciding when to have it. Our desire is to get the maximum amount of people here to hear the Gospel and want to know what works best for the most people. The Gatherings will be identical in worship and teaching, so you will not miss out if you attend one or the other.

Kids, Kids, and More Kids.

In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 19 we see that Jesus welcomed children in to his ministry as he took time, out of his busy schedule, to minister to and pray for children. Although we see this example in the Gospels many churches ignore the importance and significance of ministering to children. In fact, many pastors hope for just one volunteer to 'baby-sit' or entertain children during the weekly service. Expectations are low, thus getting by week-to-week is the norm. There is no vision, nothing new, and nothing fun. A felt-board is as good as it gets. By the time a child becomes a teen no wonder they are ready to exit the church as fast as they can never to return. This ISN'T the case at Crosspointe!

I'm grateful for the heart that Crosspointe has for Children's Ministry and the vision to reach out to children in our community! In a recent survey, Barna.org found that 64 percent of people who accepted Christ in America did so before they were 18 years old. So, Jesus exemplified it...The numbers prove it...We should do it!

Today, at Crosspointe, was a landmark day as we had 70 children from infant to age 12!!! Throw in youth to the age of 18 years old and the sum is that approximately 45 percent of our congregants are 18 years and under!!! Now before you give me a lecture about how numbers don't matter and we shouldn't count and we should just preach "Jesus." Let me say, that these 'numbers' say many (great) things about Crosspointe. Here are a few...

1. You are not afraid of children running all through our building.

2. You are not afraid to step up to volunteer in children's ministry, events, and outreaches.

3. You are not afraid to encourage and minister to children!

4. You have an understanding that children are not tomorrow's church or the next generation rather they are today's church and the now generation!

5. You are not afraid to give generously to finance ministry for children.

Finally, Crosspointe is an awesome place to raise children with a warming atmosphere for families and a commitment to impart the truths of God's Word in the life of every child!

1. ROOTS has been an incredible series to share with you. In ROOTS we are rediscovering our Salvation. Great Stuff.

2. Today was the best "all around" day that we've had in a while. Crosspointers are so friendly! It is the number one comment guests continue to make in describing us! Great job volunteers!

3. I loved praying for people at the front. I am believing for miracles of the "God" kind!

4. Today we had 7o children from newborn to 12 years old in church! That is off-the-hook!

5. Jets won! I didn't think they had it in them. Maybe Sanchez is the next generation quarterback that will rival the likes of Elway, Montana, and the Mannings. I'm just saying!

6. I am looking forward to the FORWARD CONFERENCE. This year's theme is "Forward in Focus!" Each night Lynn is going to encourage us to "focus" on the right stuff. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday can be the best 3 days in your life!
