Awesome post, man! It was nice to hear about your organization. Im sure a lot of people can relate to your story even if your experience was specific to a niche club.

You don't need to download anything from the site so you shouldn't be getting any viruses from there. You just need to read the default guide to know how to forward the port to the outside world.

I'm also assuming that you're running on a static IP address so you didn't have to setup DynDNS for routing.

Hi Bry,
Thanks for your fast replay. Unfortunatly it was a big mistake. My Virusscanners standing direkt on his hands and I also have had to reload part of the operatingsystem from SP3. Thanks God the computer is still running good. So I will not reload this bag of Virusses (PortForeard.com).
By the way what I wont is just going in from the Internet via the Modem to one of my Computers where an Internet-Site is running. I use 3 Computers on the Modem plus a Internet-Phone. All having fixed Adr. in the Network. The Problem is, I can easy go to the Site from one of the other computers on the LAN but I'm not able to access them from the Internet (WAN). It must be a configuration option on the Modem (Telelink) where I'm not so good in.

Regards

Are you talking about port forwarding? If so, there's a link in the post above to the PortForward.com guide for the modem.

Hi,
Just tell you my story. Was using a DSL-1 PLDT Modem since abt. 4 Years. It was always working fine. But the last 1/2 year I get more and more problems. At the last it stops 20-30 times a day.
The PLDT techn. are here several times but the result was not good at all. Finally I was trying the "Hint" of buying the Telefonica Modem. Putting in the configuration and within 10 minutes I have had a good working Modem. No problems at all. Just working fine. I only have one question:
Please can you tell me the changes on the configuration to access one of the computers from "outside". At the LAN it work fine and assigning port 82 to the configurator works fine, but I cannot access the computer from the WAN. The configurator is accessable fine from the WAN when I call them with port 82. Please can you help me to configure the Modem. I'm sure it is a command via Telnet? but I'm not so comfortable with them and I don't like to make a GOOD working Modem a not working one Hi.
