The 16th of September the Dutch band Valerius released their new single ‘Whenever’ at a special release party in Bitterzoet.

One week before this release, Valerius did three exclusive mini-concerts in Hilfiger Denim stores across the Netherlands. Readers of the magazine Elle Girl could win tickets to these special mini-concerts where the band performed live and had a signing session for their fans afterward.

I was asked to capture the spirit of these three mini-concerts in Rotterdam, Utrecht and Amsterdam. The pictures were used by Elle Girl and Hilfiger Denim. Professional printouts were made in cooperation with ditisfris that could be picked up at the stores by the girls a few days later. Too bad I couldn’t attend the release party itself because I was abroad at that time…

The fashion week in Milan is just over and I’m heading to Paris right now. Mission: shoot more people in the streets and outside the fashion shows.

You can view a selection of my pictures from Milan at the streetwear section of the Team Peter Stigter weblog. Also, pictures from Paris will be posted there on a daily basis, including pictures of the fashion shows.

Some of the trends seen so far: lots and lots of short shorts and skirts, the “Margiela shoulder”, Ray-Ban sunglasses and the small(er) bags are back.

Next stop: Paris!

Friday I received my Olympus PEN with 17mm (=34mm equivalent) pancake lens. I think it will be my new best friend from now on. dSLR quality in a compact body, sounds to good to be true eh?

Below are some quick shots I took in the Albert Heijn (what better place to test the undercoverness of a camera than the supermarket?) using an artistic (grainy film) preset from the camera. Already thinking about getting the Summicron 1:2/35 (”king of bokeh“) lens . I will try to post more pictures this week.

The downtown (publicly) program of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week opened officially today with Fashion in the City at Heineken City.
