Myles Cochrane, writing for the Times-Standard out of Eureka, asked us a few questions about our favorite gig in Phillipsville and our plans for the immediate future.
Farm Fresh to You posted a lovely promo video of their Second Saturday farm tour events they host in the Spring and Summer months. What band has eight thumbs and has a cameo in this video?
Loreen owns the Riverwood Inn in Phillipsville. Shes not hot about Cal-Trans’ building a new road through the old growth forrest there (neither are we). And it’s best not to mess with Loreen.
CM Wilcox had some nice things to say about us at the bottom of his Billy Joe Shaver review of our recent show at the Palms Playhouse in Winters.
Last week we got a last minute call to open for Billy Joe Shaver at the Palms in Winters. You know, just your usual last minute call to open the show for a country music legend.
Marie Chapman covers the Capay Organic Farm Tours for Davis Life Magazine. We played this event in April and had a blast—as is apparent from the photos here.
This is a great family friendly event. Bring a picnic, ride a tractor, dance to some music all in the picturesque Capay Valley.

Hi folks, we’ve officially awoken from our winter hibernation, and are ready to kick things back into gear. We played our first show of 2010 last night and debuted a few new songs. We’re working on our plan for the year and have some good ideas in the works.
Our PA (or public address system, as we lovingly refer to it) caught fire recently. Yeah, huge amounts of billowing, electric smelling smoke poured from its every orifice one evening before a rehearsal. Repair? Replace? Upgrade? Those are the questions. How do you want to hear the Bottom Dwellers?
You know what? Radio doesn’t actually suck. We have three great stations in the Sacramento valley that play fantastic independent music or all types, including plenty of Bottom Dwellers. KDVS, KVMR, and KXJZ to name names. Start tuning in and find new music.
Obama trumps McCain in our tip jar shootout last Wednesday at the Davis Farmers Market.
The New York Times reports on one less pioneering honky tonk steel guitar player left in the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, there aren’t a lot of steel players to go around. Indeed, this is a worthy and lucrative instrument to pick up. And when you do, give us a call...

On our recent whirlwind weekend trip to Humboldt County, we stopped by KHUM for a little in studio performance. That performance is now available in iTunes.
You may have noticed that we have a new website. If you hadn’t, well, we do. We hope the particulars will be fairly obvious to most of you, but it may be worth while to call attention to a few of the changes since many of you use the site for different reasons.
It’s finally here! Our brand new album, “Think I Need A Drink” is now available for purchase at your local internet retailers.
Just because the propane hasnt been flowing through the veins of the Bottom Dwellers tour van, doesnt mean we havent been working our keisters off. In fact, we have. On a new record, specifically.
Whos a CD Baby Editors pick?
Indeed, ladies and gentlemen, if youre into that classic Bakersfield sound, wed be remiss in not telling you to give the Bottom Dwellers a try. Go ahead, its okay. If we didnt think so, we wouldnt be doing it.
[UPDATE] Well, we were finally replaced. But our buddies Stars And Garters are in there now! Shit howdy. Great new record, boys.

For those of you who werent able to attend the Sammies Country/Bluegrass showcase the other week, Its pichers! Its almost like you were there, only quieter.
You really do like us! The Bottom Dwellers have been nominated for the 2007 Sammies, and were all atwitter with delight. We received the following email from W.Bradley Pope, Professional Window Installer/Musician:
Dwight Yokam,Steve Earl, and Jack Ingram suggested to us that the lost highway goes in many directions. You guys prove it. Welcome to the lunatic fringe of country music.

What do you call a musical group consisting of an NGO project manager, ex-punk rocker, high school teacher, and a multi-media designer that just piled out of a blue propanefueled passenger van? Answer: The Bottom Dwellers, a new country act out of Yolo County, Ca., whose cut, "Company Truck" was recently featured on NPRs Car Talk.
The Bottom Dwellers are my new favorite country act in town. This CD is ample proof of why that is. Eighteen tracks of country tinged by the demon rock and roll.
