I know, this looks too good to be true, but come May, you'll all be able to get your hands on these AMAZING Scholten & Baijings x HAY glasses.

And yes, Scholten & Baijings are indeed the geniuses behind that tablewear collection I raved about a few months ago (here). You only have to check out their website to fall in love with every single thing they've ever designed. From tableware to cars to furniture, seriously, they can do it all. Oh and HAY, don't get me started on them. I mean seriously. They have it all. Cool furniture, cool bed linnens, cool desk accessories. You can't walk into a HAY shop without screaming 'I WANT IT ALL THANK YOU YES PLEASE' (I dare you).

Of course, Scholten & Baijings are no newbies when it comes to working with HAY, they've done countless of designs for them - and they work together SO well. This is what happens when two great teams join forces, it's called syngergy you guys.

Now feast your eyes on these... There's a carafe + water glasses that come with a blue tint, yellow tint or spot of gold on the bottom, a red wine glass with a stroke of pink, a white wine glass with a black grid on the side and lastly a champagne flute with a stripe of gold (what else).

I used to post something Hedi Slimane-related probably once a month, but... it's been a year since I last mentioned him on here (I checked). Shame on me, this is not proper die-hard-hedi-fan behaviour. Still, love you long long long time, Hedi. (and please, let this be a gentle reminder his name is STILL Hedi, not Heidi. The times I've seen his name misspelled is ridiculous).
These are some stills from his Diary, he still updates it all the while working hard on that ~~Yves~~ Saint Laurent collection, needless to say I'm overjoyed. I am the first to admit I like his photographic work better than his fashion-work, which doesn't mean I don't think he's talented by the way -he's absolutely brilliant- it's just not so much for me. THAT being said, he's doing some photography for Saint Laurent as well, please, look at them here.

I've been a bit obsessed with this Scholten & Baijings x Arita 1616 tableware ever since I first saw it on Dezeen back in April. That's almost 6 months ago by now, so I think it's about time I presented it to you all.

Let me give you a proper introduction - Scholten & Baijings (of HAY fame) are a Dutch design duo who took on the assignment of Arita 1616 to bring some colour & European vibes into their ceramics. They did wonderfully, creating a set of tableware that looks absolutely perfect. The shapes & colours are based on their extensive research in the Arita archives; pastel blues, yellows & pinks combined with a fiery red and a serene white... The collection feels very modern yet gives a little wink to the Japanese heritage of Arita and is crafted with the extraordinary workmanship & experience of the original Arita ceramics.

In short: this is the best & coolest tableware I've ever seen, the end.

It took me 3 months, but let me give you a quick look at what my trip to Berlin in july looked like...
Part 1: in which we visit the zoo. (The Berlin zoo is awesome.)

My travel companions in front of our humble abode... We found it through Airbnb and had such a lovely stay. The big chunck of bloody meat on the floor is kind of icky - not that I'm a vegetarian, but still. BUT, this tiger was beautiful, such an elegant creature. I'll give you a list of all fun things to do/visit/... in Berlin at the end of this series, so keep an eye out for that.

I like a good movie now and then, the only problem I always have is: what should I watch? I don't discriminate between bad romcoms or weird artistic movies, frankly I just watch everything. That doesn't mean I like everything though. So I thought, why not pick a few movies I DID like and share them with you. Sound good? All right, here we go:

I watched this in between 2 exams last month (some people do yoga or read books to clear their heads, I watch movies.) and I think it actually is a perfect movie for that. It doesn't have a mindblowing plot or anything, it's just a peek into a recently graduated girl's life. You might recognise Lena Dunham if you watch the series Girls.
Funny story though, turns out mother & sister in the movie are her actual mom & sis. You kind of get that the mother & sister are related because, well, one just looks like a younger version of the other, and Lena's way of saying "Hi Mommyyy" and hugging her kind of gave it away as well. Imagine making a movie with your mom & sis, I mean, that's pretty cool.

This movie really surprised me, I mean, I liked it a LOT. The story's perfect (adapted from the book 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret'), the filming's absolutely perfect, the music's perfect,... And this may be a weird thing to say but I'm strangely attracted to the colour palette (notice how everything's the same kind of colours).
One thing though, please please please watch this in a good quality (if you don't see the dust particles flying around, it is not good quality), so much effort is put in all these little details so don't ruin your viewing pleasure by watching a crappy movie theater camera recording (and that actually applies to ALL movies, if you watch those: SHAME ON YOU).

And another movie adapted from a book, this time it's Jonathan Safran Foer's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. I haven't read the book yet, but if the book's as good as the movie I'm in for a treat. Again, this one's beautifully filmed, the images are absolutely stunning (can you tell I'm kind of a visual person?). It's a story built around the 9/11 tragedy but in a very different way. Hats off, seriously.

I can be very short on this one: if you like Woody Allen movies, watch it. If you don't, leave it. I'm not Woody Allen's biggest fan (don't hate me), I find some of his movies kind of "meh" (Midnight in Paris), others very entertaining (Manhattan Murder Mystery), but I guess I'll need to see more of his movies to make up my mind on him. This movie's got a few different story lines - one of which features Anthony Hopkins in a midlife crisis, which is kind of hilarious.

This one's kind of interesting. The movie is filmed in a real-life time frame (ugh, don't know how to say this, I mean that if the movie's 1:30 hrs long, exactly 1:30 hrs has passed in the movie's timeline). I can only compare it to ONE movie, a 1957 one at that, 12 Angry Men (which you should also watch, because it's a great movie) which is VERY similar to this one. Well I guess you'll have to see it to understand what I'm trying to say here, but trust me on this one.

I really hope most of you didn't notice I haven't blogged in 39 days (...oops), but what can I say, real life caught up with me? So anyway, this post's long overdue, meet Paper & Chain!

I got myself the Brass Vega studs (TREAT YO SELF! - no worries if you didn't get the Parks & Rec reference) and have been wearing them on/off for the past 3 weeks (well that's how long overdue this post is).
Paper and Chain is designed by the lovely Ismay (check out her awesome blog!) and Naomi. Because their designs are all handmade it does take a little while before your order is sent out, but let me tell you: it's worth the wait. Don't know if I've ever gotten so many compliments on my earrings before (granted, I don't wear earrings that often, but still).

I've been following Karla Spetic since her very first collection and she keeps surprising me every time I see pictures of her latest collection popping up. This time (this is her AW 12 collection), she put together a lovely colour palette of her usual pastels (peach, light blue, cream) together with bright yellow & red - added bonuses are the leopard print and Roy Lichtenstein reproductions!
I'm loving the flowy organza skirts as well. They're not that wearable (unless you don't mind walking around showing off your granny pants), but fantastic nonetheless.

I couldn't help myself so I put together a little oufit featuring one of her dresses, when you're done drooling over these pastels, scroll down to see the lookbook!

YSTERIKE - SUMMER EDITION

So, I've talked to you guys about french brand Ysterike before and well, here I am once again.
Short introduction in case you're just tuning in: Ysterike is designed by lovely French lady Sarah Lespagnol, key words for her collections are sweet & cute, playful, colourful, ... You get the point.

So what's new? Well, it seems Ysterike is doing great! Her latest collection just arrived and is - in my oppinion - her best one yet. PLUS, there are a few new international stockists(!), I don't think I have to introduce you guys to Pixie Market, right? Check out more stockists here (Opening Ceremony NYC & LA are also on the list, pretty impressive for a small French brand that's only a few seasons old if you ask me...). I think a CONGRATS is in order!

Personal favourites are the little Chloé dress (the peter pan collar/col claudine & triangular opening in the front one) and the pink blouse/liberty print skirt combination. Oh yes, and err...e-shop's right over here guys ;)

Niels Peeraer only graduated from the renowned Antwerp Academy of fine Arts last summer (piling up the awards & prizes on the go) and there seems to be no stopping him. Take a look at his latest collection, "the lotus and the snake, the curse of the white fox". Beautifully designed accessories in natural coloured leather: handbags, bracelets, an amazing head piece etc. I'm swooning over that little handbag (and every other piece).

If you're in Paris for PFW, be sure to drop by the Ra Showspace (rue de la corderie, 14), from march 1st-4th to see his work!
