There are lots of rumor about Linux, especially among those who doesn't know about Linux. They claims that Linux doesn't supports all of your hardware. So why not give it a try. But you'll turn away if you have no alternative to install your Linux in your Hard Drive only. But look here, there are lots of Live CDs available for Linux, which runs directly from your Optical Disks. But Optical Disks are not much convenient place to store your data, as there is much chance of loosing it in just a single scratch and also that, they are slow, slower than USB Flash Drives.

I am going to describe you to test your Linux in your USB Flash Drive.

Creating a Xubuntu 9.10 Live USB Flash Drive in Windows

Download and run XU910p.exe, a Xu910p folder is created
Download the Xubuntu 9.10 torrent and use your favorite bittorent client to download the ISO
Copy the Xubuntu 9.10 ISO to the Xu910p folder on your PC
From the Xu910p folder, click Xu910.bat and follow the onscreen instructions
Once the script has finished, restart your PC and set your BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot

If all went well, you should now be booting from your very own Xubuntu 9.10 Live USB with the option to save changes that you make back to the USB device and restore those changes on subsequent boots.

Kubuntu 9.10 Live USB Flash Drive Creation from Windows

Download and launch Ku9.10p.exe, extracting to your PC. A Ku910p folder is automatically created
Download the torrent and proceed to download Kubuntu 9.10 ISO using your favorite torrent client
Place the Kubuntu 9.10 ISO in the Ku910p folder on your computer
From the Ku910p folder on your PC, click Ku910.bat and follow the on screen instructions
Once the script has finished, restart your PC and set your BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot

There are also other Linux OS which you can easily install in your portable drive either from your windows or from Linux itself. One of them is, DSL (Damn Small Linux).

Get Quick Launch toolbar back

Right-click the taskbar, choose Toolbars / New Toolbar
In the folder selection dialog, enter the following string and hit OK:
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Turn off the "lock the taskbar" setting, and right-click on the divider. Make sure that "Show text" and "Show title" are disabled and the view is set to "small icons".
Use the dividers to rearrange the toolbar ordering to choice, and then lock the taskbar again.

Right-click on the taskbar and choose the properties dialog. Select the "small icons" checkbox and under the "taskbar buttons" setting, choose "combine when taskbar is full".

Starting explorer from "My Computer"

Old behaviour for Windows Live Messenger

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\ and set the properties of msnmsgr.exe to Vista compatibility mode. This will place the Messenger icon back in your system tray and remove the 2 annoying tabs on the taskbar.

Hacking other's google adsense account

Few days back, my friend's google adsense got hacked by unknown person. Needless to say that he never reached those phishing sites, neither he gave his secondary email's password to other. How was his password hacked?

When I tried solving his problem. I asked help for google, by clicking on "can't access my account" link. After following some instructions, I was welcomed to this screen

I let him fill out the form with as much information as he had. Then after few hours google replied him in his mail with a link to reset his password. Thank god then he recovered his password. But again the same problem repeated, the account got hacked once again. I guess the person who might have hacked his account must be so much clever that he again used the same method to use get back the adsense account.

The game of recovering and recovering is going on an on. The theif never quits as every time the password is recovered, he applies same technique to recover the password back again. And so does my friend.

I hope there is some better solution to make your adsense account more secure. I wish google to read this post.

If you are a normal use then if you are downloading files from Megaupload you have to pass through two “protections”. The first is a captcha while the second is a countdown timer. This means that users need to enter a captcha code whenever they want to download a file from the file hosting website. Even worse is that, they also have to wait some time before the download file becomes available.

Now I have a secret tool for you, it is Muautolink, a firefox add-on. Muautolink will immediately display a file download window when the user opens a Megaupload download page in the Firefox web browser. It bypasses the Megaupload captcha and countdown completely.

It even works if the Megaupload website is embedded in another website like several Megaupload search services have implemented it. It can be downloaded from the official Mozilla Firefox website from Here.

You may notice just under the lower right coner of the video window, some videos have an option to “Watch In High Quality”. By default, these videos will play as a 320×240 FLV file at 320Kb/s. Check out this sample:

What else are you gaining besides increased video resolution? The video is compressed with H.264 compression, so you get better video even at the same data rate. You also go from a low fidelity mono audio feed to stereo @ 44.1Khz sample rate.

&fmt=6 increases the resolution from 320×240 to 448×336, Flash 7 video @ 900Kbps; audio @ 44.1KHz 96Kbps Mono CBR.

&fmt=18 increases the resolution to 480×360, H.264 video @ 512Kbps; audio @ 44.1KHz 128Kbps Stereo. Note, the bandwidth may be lower, but it’s utilizing a more efficient compression codec.

&fmt=22 increaes the resolution to 720p HD video if the source was uploaded at a high enough resolution.

How to run automatic chkdsk using a batch file

If you have a lot of partitions and you want to run checkdisk on all of them, instead of doing it individually for each drive, you can use this batch file.

Copy and paste the following code into a notepad and save the file with a .bat extension.
Eg. "checkdisk.bat"

1. When saving the file, use the quotation marks in the file name so notepad doesn't assign the default .txt extension.
2. Run this batch file(double click it to run) from any drive other than your windows drive.
3. Edit(right click the batch file > edit) the file depending on how many partitions you have.
4. Your windows drive should be the very first.
5. In the below code my windows drive is C: so I started with ECHO Y| chkdsk C: /F
6. Got it? good. If not good luck.

After serving 15 great years of free web hosting, Yahoo! shutdown its GeoCities services today. Before Twitter, before Facebook, before MySpace – heck, even before Friendster, there was a service known as GeoCities. For those who grew up on the Net in the 90s, it was about as close as you get to what we know today as social networks. It was essentially an organization of like-minded user-created homepages in different topical communities like sports, entertainment, and tech.

GeoCities was once known for pioneering the personal portal era where anyone could build up their own personal pages. GeoCities got acquired by Yahoo! for $2.87 billion in 1999. However, the service suffered badly in the last eight years or so as blogging platforms evolved and the website-creating and hosting services gradually became cheaper.

GeoCities could never cope up with rapidly changing technology and failed to update their platform. Despite that, GeoCities has been pioneers for web page building. It allowed adding picture, text, web page visit counter and guest book.

Yahoo! urges their existing GeoCities customers to move their pages to Yahoo! Web Hosting service. This web hosting service will include personal domain and other tools like email, site building, unlimited bandwidth and diskspace and more.

However the official reason is yet to be revealed.

Say you have downloaded pinball.jar in your computer. Now all you have to do is extract it with 7zip, win-Rar or any file extractor. Now in the extracted folder, go to MANIFEST folder and extract the MANIFEST.mf file (every java file contains manifest folder and file).

Open MANIFEST.mf file with notepad. Copy and paste the following code:

We usually download trial versions of softwares and games.But we really get annoyed when these trial versions expire after a fixed period of time.we always wished to use them as full versions.Now I have got a solution to this problem that makes us use trial versions indefinitely forever.

Here is a list of some softwares that uninstall the expired softwares completely without leaving any trace so that you can install the trial version again for reuse.

Altiris Software Virtualization Solution:Altiris Software Virtualization Solution (SVS) is a new way to use software. By placing applications and data into managed units called Virtual Software Packages (VSP's), SVS allows you to instantly activate, deactivate, or reset applications, to completely avoid conflicts between applications, and to remove them cleanly without altering the base Windows installation.

Once installed on a system, SVS runs continually. If you install a program under it, SVS grabs all changes to the Registry and file system (including added and deleted files) that the installer makes and puts them in what Altiris calls a layer. Thereafter, the virtualization software directs file and Registry calls to the layer or to the base system as appropriate. The SVS-installed app looks perfectly normal, but disappears without a trace when you deactivate the layer. You can turn the app on and off like a light switch.
Sandboxie: When you run a program on your computer, data flows from the hard disk to the program via read operations. The data is then processed and displayed, and finally flows back from the progam to the hard disk via write operations. Sandboxie changes the rules such that write operations do not make it back to your hard disk.

Intercept changes to both your files and registry settings, making it virtually impossible for any software to reach outside the sandbox.
Traps cached browser items into the sandbox as a by-product of normal operation, so when you throw away the sandbox, all the history records and other side-effects of your browsing disappear as well.

Total Uninstall: Total Uninstall helps monitor any changes made to your system during the installation of a new application.It allows you to perform a complete uninstall without having to rely on the supplied Add/Remove program which can leave files or changes behind.Total Uninstall creates a snapshot of your system prior to installing a new application. It then takes an additional snapshot after the installation has completed. It then compares the two snapshots and displays all changes in a graphical tree view, marking all registry values and/or files that have been added, changed or deleted. Total Uninstall saves these changes and if you decide to uninstall the application, it will reverse the changes to the previous state. Any other computer activity during this period that makes changes to the file system and/or registry will also be monitored.

Extract the contents of the archive to your phone but DO NOT OPEN!

Open xplore, leave it open in the background.

Open HelloCarbide, select Options -> Menu1. You should get a message saying "done... Probably". Select 'Yes'.

Open xplore from the background. Navigate to where you extracted the Caps On/Off files and copy the file CProfDriver_SISX.ldd to C:\sys\bin

Restart your phone and install Caps On and Caps Off.

Now you'll have access to system directories, whenever you select the application "Caps Off". To turn off system file access, open the application "Caps On".

To install files without signing or using SignSis, use these files:

installserver.exe for Symbian OS 9.1 (Pre-FP1 Phones)

installserver.exe for Symbian OS 9.2 (FP1 as well as FP2 Phones)

Part 2- Installing NGAGE application on your phone

Step 1-

Install the ngage launcher ( Any build ) that i'm providing on your memory card

(Unofficial) N-Gage Installer v1.10 Build 1318 for all s60v3 phones

Install the symbian os PIPS V1.02 to memory card that i'm providing after completion of Ngage installer.
Note- FP2 phone users and those who use Build 1318, omit this step.

Step 3-
Now copy the 20001079.txt file that i'm providing according to your respective phone model and version to the folder c:/private/10202be9 with any file manager. For example xplore.

This step should be omitted if you have phone with front cam. They already have 20001079.txt file in the phone.

NOTE- The one from Landscape.zip- 4 those phones in file name, rest FP1 and FP2 phones

For all phones except Officially compatible phones and Nseries phones, games can be played in portrait mode using file 20001079.txt given in ngage all files and installservers.rar

TO DO THIS, YOU MUST CAPS OFF TO SEE PRIVATE FOLDER.

Step 4-
Now install patch file that i have provided to memory card. For this add proper installserver to c:/sys/bin

PATCH INSTALLATION IS MUST FOR EVERY PHONE, EVEN FOR N81, N82, N95

Step 5-
Now open the ngage application, do nothing and exit it. After doing this, go to xplore and you will a folder created named e:/n-gage. exit xplore.

Step 6-
Get an .n-gage game file from download links given in my next post.
Now copy the .n-gage game file to e:/n-gage with xplore, after this close xplore.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SHOULD COPY THE FILE, YOU SHOULD NOT MOVE IT TO THAT FOLDER.

Step 7-
Now turn the caps on. Launch ngage application. Installation of game will automatically start. Install it on memory card. After installation finishes, Simply launch the game by clicking start game. Game will start in about 10-15 seconds. Enjoy gaming.

Send the file to your phone.

Open X-Plore and copy the '20001079' to the following location C:\Private\10202be9\20001079.txt

Search out the file C:\Private\10202be9\persists\20001079.cre and delete it.

N80 and 3250 users don't delete this .cre file

You can now turn CapsOn. To install a game simple run its exe file on pc and extract and then copy its *.n-gage file to the Ngage folder on your memory card (Detailed description given below)

Time Saving Procedure to install Ngage Games on your phone

Open the .exe file of ngage game you want to install on pc.

Don't connect your mobile to your pc.

When you get a window asking you if you already have metro trk n ngage application, click on both and proceed.

New window will appear saying that metro trk port not found.

Don't worry. Simply click on extract n-gage file to pc. In a second or two, you will find n-gage game file in the same folder.

Copy this file on your phone to e:/n-gage folder n installation will start once you open ngage application from your phone. Done. Enjoy gaming.

This hack tutorial will allow you to install unsigned applications in your any symbian 9.2 OS featured Cell phone. It will allow you to give applications full permissions. This hack has been confirmed on the N95, N95 8GB, N82 and some others. If you perform this hack, please tell me your phone model

Tools you'll need:

Download ActivePython FROM HERE, install it.

Download and install PySerial from FROM HERE.

Download and install AppTRK (to your phone) FROMHERE.

Download Hack Perms FROM HERE.

Download the S60_3_1_Prof_v1_62.zip file FROM HERE

After downloading and installing the above softwares, connect your phone to your PC via USB in PC Suite mode.

Go to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>Ports OR Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Device Manager>Ports(Windows Vista ).

Once you're there, look for your phone, in my case it's called 'Nokia GSM Phone USB (COM3)'. Make a note of the number after COM, you'll need it later.

Open AppTRK on your phone and press cancel when it trys to connect via bluetooth. Go to options>settings>connection and change it to USB. Go back and press options then connect. This is what you should see:

Now open up the Hack Perm python file in notepad on your PC, press CTRL+F on your PC and search for "ser =" (Without quotes). Once you're there change the 5 that's in the brackets to the 1 less than the number that followed COM in the step above.

For example, if your number was 6, you would change the number in the brackets to 5 and if your number was 5, you would change the number in the brackets to 4. Once you've done that, save the python file. Please don't be mistaken, you must choose save not SAVE AS.

Once you have done this, just double click the Hack Perms file and wait for about 5 seconds, during this time, you should see this, notice the "!!!!!!!!!!!candidate!!!!!!!!!!!", this shows you've been successful:

This hack will be temporary until you follow these steps

Go to your applications folder and open it, it should be called profiler.
Go to: Options>Profiler>Start
When you see 'Status:Sampling' at the top of the application's screen go to Options>Profiler>Stop.
Now wait for about 1 second for it to show 'Status:Finished' and then exit the application.
Download this file from HERE, rename it to CProfDriver_SISX.ldd and paste it into C:\SYS\BIN on your phone by using X Plore or another file browser to replace the existing file with this one.
