I was trying a new substrate for my paintings. It is called "Aquabord" It is interesting to paint on, not the same results as on WC paper, but fun all the same.

This was painted with Japanese watercolors, much more semi-opaque than my other watercolor. It is 6X6

Wow, sorry about the lack of posts, I have had an awful year but the Lord will sustain me.
The Northern Plains Watercolor Society Show has started and I sold both paintings, which was an answer to prayer. I was asking the Lord for a miracle concerning my artwork. Thanks to the Lord he hears us. The top painting is titled "Amber Waves of Grain" and the lower painting is "Under the Crag"

Hi ! Happy Aug. 2 . Preseason football starts soon and I am so happy about that. A big Broncos fan here, and I am not afraid to tell anyone. Ha ha. We have been watching our six year old grandson for my son and daughter in law this week as his summer camp does not run this week. Actually my husband has been watching him the most...what a dear. I have not felt real well from allergies and have no energy. I am looking forward to get back to my art and start a new project.

Windy Wednesday ! From Sesame Street, and South Dakota. I have been getting ready two watercolors for my local watercolor society by getting digital photos and framed. I have another painting getting ready to ship to another juror show in WY. I hope this all comes together, and since my RA doctor took me off my shots because they were giving me an allergic reaction. It has been over a month since my last med, so my joints are feeling it.I am slower than usual. I have more paintings in my head just getting excited to come out. Have a happy Wednesday!

Abstract of my City

I am on an adventure of fine art. I love watercolor, but have started playing with other mediums.
I also have fallen in love with abstracts. Many think that abstracts are easy and doesn't take any fore thought. They can be easy at times because they are fun. But when I do an abstract I take time to pick my colors and design before hand. That takes some time to get my inspiration, and techniques. With saying that I thought of maps and came up with my latest abstract: Rapid City.

I have two watercolors to have framed for the watercolor show here in Sept. It seems like I am a deadline type artist. Not that I want to be that way, I just don't always get my best idea's until the last minute. Then I had to take pictures of them for future art shows. I didn't want to take them just in case I didn't do a good enough job and wouldn't get excepted in the show because of a poor photograph. So, I went on-line and looked it up. I found some good easy tips and took some photos. Some of that I think are good. Now, Photoshop. Now, that is another learning experience. I can't post the art work until they are hanging at the show, but I did an abstract from an aerial photo of my city. I'll post that soon.Thanks for reading.

I know it has been forever since I have blogged, but here I am non the less. I have been taking many on-line art classes and painting everyday.And with having to take care of my house keeping chores, wife, and grandmother doings I get too tired from my RA, and Fibro junk. That is my excuse and I am sticking to it. Any how, I hope to be here more and share all of my art with you.

Hi ! Long time no "see"
I have a new painting to show you and I wanted to share with you the artists that inspired me the most. I have to honest my inspiration comes from God, but He placed in my path two wonderful artists' my grandmother and my mother. I was also blessed to have art supplies and art books at my disposal. When I saw Winslow Homer's watercolors I was hooked. I have been striving to be an artist worthy to be called an "artist"

Top of the morning to you! It is before noon here so I guess it is still morning. Being an Irishwomen I enjoy this day, but I don't drink and corned beef is not my fave. We will have sauerkraut (cabbage) with our brats tonight. LOL
