The appearance of a stress in the life of an organism (population) will have different possible consequences, it is important to consider with the eye of an evolutionist. The duration of the stress will determine many things, including the response that is mobilized, and therefore the effects on the population. Besides, as stress is biotic (predators or pathogens) or not, the situation is quite different.

We can distinguish, with a spoon, two situations. In the first, we manage stress, and a simple adjustment of physiology enough to get by. If the temperature increases, we can always respond by producing halos (say, under the arms) as unsightly as they are physiologically justified. Even if the answer is not, a priori, selective, we do have a price in terms of fitness, the fitness that determines whether or not we pass our genes (try to land someone preceded by a good old smell of perspiration if you doubt the previous point). The second situation is more difficult: no one is doing more by responding with a slight adjustment of its physiology, it must now be genetically adapted to the new situation in order to survive: stress will become a selection factor, which will lead to the elimination of susceptible individuals in the population.

If the intensity of stress is a factor that determines whether action selection, the exposure rate is also crucial: even if a stress is very important, if not longer applied, or not often, the effect of selection may be minimal. And if the alternating stress (that is, if we oscillate around the optimum), it may take something quite interesting: the selection of different strategies. We saw the two main types of strategies that could be met: either we face stress (resistance), or you live with the consequences (tolerance).

One issue that arises when one is an organization that wants to survive stress and is of course "how we get out? ". By what devious trick we going to get out of this predicament? The answer is pretty obvious. If we want to resist stress, it is a busted adaptive mutation, and the best way to do this is to go as soon as possible to accumulate mutations. Particularly in bacteria, increasing the mutation rate has an important adaptive value in the context of stress (1). An interesting way to quickly acquire mutations is to divide more quickly, ie to increase its growth rate. We have the assurance of having left descendants, and the more you increase the chances of hitting a beneficial mutation.

You see that we must listen to those who tell you that there is no better anti-stress than sex!

Except that, as always, there are parasites. By definition, the parasite modifies the features of life of its host, reducing its fitness, and overall, making every effort to make his life impossible. In short, it's a stress like any other. Again, we can say that the more you breed, the more likely to fall on the mutation that makes us strong. And besides, in the presence of parasites, it was noted that those that mutate most do best (2). Except that if you want to increase their chances of mutation breeding in addition, it is a bit in the process of shooting itself in the foot. For one simple reason, too: the more you are, the more it gives the parasite the ability to reproduce, and therefore, the more likely to pick ourselves a parasite. Besides, also in the case of bacteria, it was shown that the more one is divided, the sooner we help the parasite to do the same (3).

To summarize, we have a strategy that seems great advantage in case the stress is not alive, but becomes incredibly dangerous when the same becomes biotic stress. This is an example that highlights how the interaction with the environment and with other related species, and organisms grow in directions often very different.

The research published in the online edition of the June 23 issue of Nature shows that live in the city is associated with higher activity in certain brain areas, but could not directly link this activity to the development and installation of social stress.

This research observed the brain activity in response to social stress among urban and rural populations. The study authors state that previous studies have shown that mental health problems, such as schizophrenia, anxiety and negative mood are more common among those who live or grow up in cities.

To test this theory, researchers at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and McGill University in Canada, volunteers exposed to negative verbal messages and asked them to solve puzzles while their brains were scanned by MRI, stress levels were assessed by measuring cortisol levels, heart rate and blood pressure were measured. Previous epidemiological studies have shown that the "urban" have a higher risk of psychological disorders including depression, schizophrenia and anxiety.

Living in the city was associated with higher activity in the amygdala, a brain region that reports of negative emotions and environmental threats. This area plays a very important role in anxiety disorders, depression and violent behavior. This activity is higher in the amygdala of the citizens. The increase in the activation of specific brain regions in response to social stress, can not be directly at this stage, linked to psychological disorders. In conclusion, brain activity differs between individuals high and living in urban vs. rural. These differences are identified in areas related to schizophrenia, anxiety and negative mood. But we can not determine why these differences in brain activity occurred and whether they are related to mental health problems or stress.

But it can relieve or reduce a large number of events experienced in moments of crisis or anxiety.

Chronic anxiety and generalized anxiety is characterized by an excessively apprehensive. Relaxation therapy in the first place will help to manage the proactive type ruminations thoughts (which "run loop", regardless of their serious nature). Other techniques affect the attenuation of muscle tension and palpitations. Finally, exercises facilitate sleep, even when you are upset or worried.
Panic disorder ("panic attack" "anxiety attack") will be addressed in a management crisis, as soon as possible upstream. The premise felt by the subject often created a tense fast, which increases or accelerates the crisis. It is "the snake biting its tail."
Relaxation therapy techniques involved in prevention, calming breathing, conditioning a sign of relaxation (also called signal-sign). The person subject to these crises can also learn to manage dizziness, especially when it is in a public place.
As for the phobia, the sophrologist coordinates with that of the therapist following the "phobic". In fact, the phobia is often a mental mechanism of protection to an intense fear - fear being moved to another object (or situation), the more "mundane (e)". The principle here is rather "a train can hide another." Hence, if we "remove" the object, the risk of making up an excessive anxiety is unmanageable.
Once these prerequisites are installed, one can use techniques of habituation or "desensitization" as the gradual acceptance sophro-or-sophro sensory substitution.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder can be as a medical treatment. Relaxation therapy may respond to second-line globally to help the person relax (relaxation techniques classics like sophronisation base, for example).
Finally, the disorder post-traumatic stress will also be addressed initially on a medical or psychotherapeutic. In addition, relaxation therapy can have a very significant action on hyperactivity of the nervous system, providing about relaxation exercises both physical and mental. A re-education that is expected to positively stimulate the autonomic nervous system para-sympathetic (the regulation). The technique called "moving the sophro-negative" also helps to release tension and negative emotions associated with the traumatic event. Finally, this type of stress (often resulting from a collision, accident or injury) is accompanied by flashbacks ("images that run in a loop") that can be mitigated with the serial sophro-correction.

In summary, a large panel of technical exercises are quite adaptable to experienced anxiety, and easy to learn, and especially practice.

Drugs? or Surgery? Nothing beats a maintenance and regular monitoring of weight associated with a reasonable physical activity. These updated recommendations of the Health Authority are to remind health professionals of the importance of follow-up BMI, and weight curve in children and adolescents, and reaffirm the need for control of the nutritional balance and physical activity while discouraging drugs or surgery, except in specific and support.
BMI, the first indicator of overweight: According to the World Health Organization (WHO) definition of overweight and obesity is an abnormal accumulation or excessive body fat that can affect your health. Body mass index (BMI) is used to detect and assess overweight and obesity. So far the most useful, but it is a rough guide because, at the individual level, it does not necessarily correspond to the same degree of fatness in different individuals.

WHO defines overweight as a BMI greater than or equal to 25 kg/m2 and obesity as BMI greater than or equal to 30 kg/m2.

Drugs? Then this hypothesis was tested on a group of 400 volunteers with high cholesterol.

They were divided into three groups. The first was a diet with low saturated fat. But the second and the third group tested two versions of vegetarian diet. In total, volunteers have been on a diet for a period of 6 months.

After that, people in the first group had a reduction in the level of low density lipoprotein or "bad cholesterol", an average of 8 milligrams per deciliter. But the second and the third group had lower cholesterol at 24 and 26 milligrams per deciliter, respectively. In addition, the baseline level was typically about 170 milligrams per deciliter, while exceeding the level of 160 milligrams was considered high.

The diet was herbal and natural fats included in the form of nuts, seeds and whole grains. With the plants, the diet contains virtually no cholesterol. The duration of sleep during the night is known to strongly influence the health of the body of a person.
Less than 9 hours of sleep makes children find it difficult to learn in school the next day. A study of 142 primary school students trying to compare the number of hours of sleep with the performance of academic skills.

Children aged 6 and 7 years who have sleep deprivation tend to find difficulty to communicate and do math, spelling, grammar, and understanding is also disrupted. Memory and learning ability are affected.

The study also found that more children are allowed to use computers and televisions in their rooms. The computer equipment and television are one factor that can cause lack of sleep.

"Most children have a quantity of insufficient sleep time, which is important for their intellectual property. In fact, it can not be repaired, "said Ramon Cladel of the Autonomous University of Barcelona who stressed the importance of good sleep at night.

The study found that students who sleep 8-9 hours have lower performance than the students who slept 9 to 11 hours.

"Currently, there is great concern about the practice of the child watching television, playing computer or video games in the night that makes the child not to sleep at the same time every night," he said.

Professor Russell Foster, head of neuroscience at the University of Oxford said: "It is clear that sleep from 9 pm to 9 am is vital to optimize cognitive performance in children. "

Bad habits of sleeping late at night affect the performance of a child in everyday tasks, and make it difficult to find a solution of complex problems.

If the children need 9 to 11 hours of sleep, adults need 6.5 to 8.5 hours of sleep.

This surgery allows it to live longer? It is not so obvious, concluded the study published in the June 12 edition of JAMA.

After decades of rapid growth, the incidence of obesity peaked: In the United States, the prevalence of patients with a BMI over 35 increased by 39% between 2000 and 2005, the prevalence of obesity severe (BMI> 40) increased by 50% and the prevalence of superobésité (BMI> 50) increased by 75%. Obesity is difficult to treat and bariatric surgery has now been proven in weight loss for severe obese. The rates of obesity surgery in turn increases rapidly, however there are few studies on long-term survival after Bariatric Surgery.

To date, no studies have examined the long-term survival of patients at high risk of mortality associated with obesity, who underwent bariatric surgery. Here, a cohort of male patients at high risk rather old, which the authors compared in December 2008, with a control group that did not undergo bariatric surgery.

Mortality was followed for 850 veterans who had bariatric surgery from January 2000 to December 2006 (mean age 49.5 years, BMI: 47.4) compared to that of 41 244 controls (mean age 54.7 years, BMI average 42.0) on a median follow-up of 6.7 years. Several statistical models were used and compared.

· Among the patients who underwent bariatric surgery at 1, 2, and 6, the crude mortality rates were respectively 1.5%, 2.2% and 6.8% to 2.2% , 4.6% and 15.2% for control subjects without bariatric intervention.

• After modeling, bariatric surgery is associated with reduced mortality by 36% (HR 0.64, CI 95% 0.51 to 0.80). After adjusting for covariates, bariatric surgery is still associated with reduced mortality (HR 0.80, CI 95%, from 0.63 to 0.995).

· But in 1690 a group of matched patients, bariatric surgery is no longer associated with a significantly reduced mortality or unadjusted (HR 0.83, CI 95%, from 0.61 to 1.14) and not after adjustment over time (HR: 0.94, CI 95%, 0.64 to 1.39).

Conclusion: After adjustment with other possible risk factors, weight loss surgery is not associated with reduced mortality within 6 years of follow-up study.

Source: JAMA Published online June 12, 2011. “Survival Among High-Risk Patients After Bariatric Surgery”

The presence of drugs in trace amounts in water has been demonstrated by numerous studies. If the ecological impact is established, the health impact to humans, yet little known, is inseparable from that associated with exposure to multiple pollutants. Faced with this emerging risk, regulatory measures appear insufficient.

From the Journal of Environmental

untitledCette times, trout drugged with antidepressants us that these drugs leave their mark in their livers and brains. Oh, they do not complain, they have seen others, and the worst (click the image against, source: National Geographic).

As you read this article, I see once again that the independent research raises troubling questions. IGNORE it admits the long-term health of fish ... but there is an impact on their brain activity.

Reassuring ?!?!?!

Despite their reassurances, the scientists did not convince me of the innocence of these results. To believe them, there would be no problem for human health.

However, various toxic chemicals / pharmaceuticals endless build up in our waterways. When it is not industrial waste and domestic programs that are fluoridated drinking water, according to some panacea, poison for others.
St. Lawrence River - Fish addicted to Prozac

MONTREAL - The fish splashing in the St. Lawrence around the city are addicted to antidepressants and this has consequences for their brain activity, according to researchers at the University of Montreal.

The team of scientists led by Professor Sébastien Sauvé, Department of Chemistry, found traces of drugs in the liver and brain of trout exposed to river water.

The researchers also noted a reduction in brain activity of trout put in contact with water contaminated with antidepressants. It is unclear what effect this will have on their long-term health.

"We know that antidepressants have harmful side effects on humans but we do not know exactly how these chemicals affect not only fish on the St. Lawrence ecosystem," said Professor Sauvé Friday.

The chemist wants but reassuring with respect to humans. The concentration of drugs in the water is too low to harm the health of a person. Sauvé says, in effect it is equivalent to a grain of salt in an Olympic pool. "Drinking two liters of water a day for 70 years would allow us to accumulate a dose equivalent to one tablet," he said.

An estimated quarter of Montrealers took antidepressants like Prozac. However, the water treatment system such as the City can not eliminate them.

The research findings should raise interest internationally, as most large cities have water treatment systems similar to that of Montreal.

Researchers at the University of Montreal intend to continue their work, particularly to assess the subtle effects of antidepressants on fish.

The research results were published earlier this month on the website Chemosphere.

Scientist responsible for carrying out this investigation, called Susa Davis of Monash University in Australia, has certified that a lot of things that society takes for facts are in fact just rumors and that she wanted to prove.

The scientists assured that many of the problems that women face are completely linked to sex: pleasure, desire and satisfaction are only three of those shots. In women it is often a problem because doctors often do not take into account or do not consider them as true because they can not see them as when a man with erectile dysfunction.

The investigation was conducted on 300 women and although scientists said they still need further investigation, preliminary results showed that study are very promising.

One of the most remarkable is that this investigation was not conducted by a private company (pharmaceuticals, for example) and therefore it has no commercial intent. Therefore they declared that it is completely true.

Results disturbing because the traditional theory is that a high intake of salt leads to increased blood pressure, an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Findings published in the May issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).

2 in 3 men and 1 in 3 women have higher intakes of salt to the French guidelines and 95 to 99% of the French beyond the limits of salt consumption set by the WHO, 5 g or less per day, which reminds us that too much salt in the diet is a cardiovascular risk factor. In France, approaching these recommendations, PNNS and Public Health Law has proposed a pragmatic approach to reduce the average salt intake of the French population of 10 g / d to 8 g / d. The objectives proposed by the High Council Public Health (HCSP) in October 2010 also set a decrease in salt intake in the population to reach in five years (2015) 8 g / d for men and 6.5 g / d for women.

The study, conducted by researchers from the European Project on Genes in Hypertension (EPOGH) looked, in fact, the ad hoc level of salt in the urine of participants and not in their power and we must remember that the only measure of Urinary excretion of salt is not necessarily the volume of salt consumed. Conducted on 3681 people, free of cardiovascular disease at baseline and during nearly eight years, she has also measured their risk of hypertension, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and related deaths.

Deaths from cardiovascular disease among participants in the lowest levels of salt in urine: Major outcomes researchers identify 84 deaths from cardiovascular disease, but noted with surprise that 50 of these deaths from cardiovascular disease occur in one third of participants having the lowest levels of salt in the urine, and only 10 deaths in those with the highest levels. Of the 3,681 subjects of the study, 232 had a fatal or nonfatal CV as a heart attack during the 7.9 years of follow-up. There were 84 cardiovascular deaths, which were distributed as well as the level of excretion of salt:
• low tertile (mean urinary sodium 107mmol): 50 deaths
• medium tertile (mean urinary sodium 168mmol): 24 deaths
• highest tertile (mean urinary sodium 260mmol): 10 deaths

With adjustment for other factors, participants in the group "the lowest" have a higher risk of cardiovascular mortality (HR 1.56, CI% I 1.02 to 2.36) compared with the risk calculated for the overall cohort as a whole.

The researchers conclude that an increase of sodium excretion is associated with increased systolic but not diastolic pressure, however, this association is not related to an increased risk of cardiovascular ...

As the excretion of salt does not necessarily equate to the consumption of salt, if these results draw attention, they also involve undertaking further research on the association between salt intake, blood pressure and related cardiovascular mortality.

Source: JAMA. 2011, 305 (17) :1777-1785 doi: Fatal and nonfatal 10.1001/jama.2011.574 Outcomes, Impact of Hypertension, and Blood Pressure Changes in Relation to Urinary Sodium (Visual NHS)

The chlorophyll in the grass will help to reduce body odor.
You can also use baking soda to your armpits and your feet to reduce body odor.
When you shower, add white vinegar to one cup of water and use it to rinse the armpits. It will certainly help to reduce body odor.
One of the home remedies to treat bad body odor is to put a few drops of rose water or tea tree oil in the bath water, before taking the bath. It will provide you a lasting freshness and serve as a good substitute for deodorant. You can also add a teaspoon of alum (phitkari) or cup of oil of camphor (Kafoor) and boiled mint (Pudina) to your bath water. Use antibacterial soap or deodorant soap when you shower.
To reduce the pH of the skin and armpit odor, you can use apple cider vinegar instead of deodorant. Put it in a cup of water and use it to rinse the armpits, while bathing.
Take showers, at least three times a day during the summer when we tend to sweat a lot.
During the summers, you can apply baby powder or talcum powder on your armpits instead of deodorant.
Try to avoid refined foods such as hydrogenated oils and other processed foods. Eat healthy foods that contain lots of fiber, whole grains, wheat, soy products and green leafy vegetables. Also remember to eat less meat and dairy products.
Abstain from spicy foods and other spicy things. Frequent usage of foods containing garlic (lehsun), curry and cumin (zeera) can cause overwhelming odor emanating from your pores often up to 24 hours after the usage of these items. Try cutting these spices and see if it helps.
If you want to smell fresh and sweet body then you should take plenty of water. And if body odor still lingers on clothing then wash your clothes daily and never wear the same outfit without washing. If you are someone who sweats a lot, wear something with sleeves as often as possible. Wear cotton clothing to absorb perspiration in the summer.

Body odor is a big issue for humans. It is a concern that affects both men and women equally. We are concerned about our body odor because other recognize us by our smell, and they use this information to decide if we are worthy of their friendship. So to be socially active, take care of your body odor. Fresh smell!

There is no reality in widespread notion that body odor is the smell of sweat. Our bodies produce two kind of sweat: eccrine sweat smell without appearing all over body playing the role of regulating the body temperature and apocrine sweat, a thick substance that is produced by glands in the armpit and groin.

What are the causes of bad body odor?
There are different causes of bad body odor. Some are controllable and others are involuntary. These causes are:
Health problems (such as liver and kidney disease, fungal infections, hypoglycemia, diabetes)
    Alcohol consumption
Tobacco use (smoking and its variety)
    Dental problems
    Tooth decay
    Deficiencies in vitamins and minerals
    Poor hygiene
    Heavy physical activity and sport
    Toxins (home, food or environment)
    Stress
    Hormones (especially during menopause)
Drugs (certain types of drugs causing bad odors and to be released in the body)

Many of these actions are result from the development of a business: consulting environmental health or housing inside: What? why such an adviser? what are its inputs?

What's this?
In 1991, Professor of Pneumology of the Regional University Hospital of Strasbourg Frédéric de Blay, also president of the French Society of Aerobiology and environmental expert with the European Parliament, created the profession of environmental consultant Interior (CIAM ) or Habitat Health Adviser. Their role is to identify the various sources of household allergens and pollutants in people with respiratory diseases or allergies.

What training should I do?
CIAM is a professional Diploma by Interuniversity Respiratory Health and Habitat or a professional license of Health and the Environment Professionals . These teachings are transmitted only in the universities of Strasbourg, in partnership with those of Brest, Montpellier, Paris and Toulouse. Graduates are trained to perform audits of the indoor environment and to establish preventive measures.

When do you call a CIAM?
Housing-health counselors are solely at the request of a physician after a diagnosis of pathology in relation to a pollutant of the indoor environment (asthma, eczema, cough ...) and ideally after a review allergy. Unfortunately today many doctors do not usually advise these requirements, mainly for lack of knowledge and information.
Also note that the CIAM can exercise in private (the cost of intervention rises between 150 and 300 €) or not. In this case, consultation is free.

Why?
Between our home, office or school and transportation, we spend an average of 20 hours per day inside the various venues of life. But the air of these places is a mixture of physical contaminants, chemical and biological materials and human resources from around us. It is the paradise of small animals such as dust mites, cockroaches, molds and allergens! It therefore becomes essential to monitor and control their home!

What are they?
Housing-health counselors realize an audit of the indoor environment. They investigate room by room, according to a specific questionnaire, and produce samples (air, dust, mold, dust mites ...) to issue a progress report. They then propose measures to reduce exposures vis-à-vis the pathogen or household pollutants ... in short, they teach us to adapt our home and our way of life for comfort!

A trade in vogue?
This occupation is still poorly developed due to the weakness of opportunities offered to young graduates. But this is bound to change.

The first records we have of the fermentation of fruit are the year 800 BC in Arabia, and then in the Middle Ages used the alcohol derived from fermentation of fruits to cure diseases.
At the same time it began using for medicinal and religious purposes. They diversified the sources to cover a wide variety of fruits and grains from which alcohol was obtained, and mixed with various ingredients to create different drinks. Currently, main use of alcohol and snuff is recreational along with the legal drugs most commonly sold throughout the world.
The amount of alcohol you drink in beverages is very variable. It ranges from relatively low alcohol beverages, including beer, in which the concentration of alcohol is 4' to 7'per 100 milliliters, to whiskey and champagne
in which the concentration of alcohol is 40 'per 100 milliliters.

Alcohol has many effects on different organ systems of the human body. Because of its chemical properties,it is rapidly absorbed in the stomach and small intestine, so soon after reaching a high level of alcohol in blood it shows its effects on the body. Although alcohol has effects on virtually all-organs, organ systems, the most important are the changes that occur in the brain and behavior, on the cardiovascular system and liver.

Alcohol has significant effects on the esophagus and stomach, and directly damage the mucous layer that protects them, and also causes lesions on the outer cell layer of the mucosa, favoring the occurrence of ulcers and gastritis.
In the brain, changes caused by alcohol are directly proportional to the dose ingested, and become completely opposite: low doses cause a state of joy that comes to euphoria, while high doses cause drowsiness, sleep and even coma or death (see box). The amount of alcohol that causes the symptoms is variable, as everyone processes it differently: Some people experience very little alcohol intoxication data, while others may consume large amounts without apparent symptoms of severe alterations.

The consumption of small amounts of alcohol in its several forms, wine, beer, spirits, has been shown to have beneficial effects on health, as it helps to process fats and stimulates the digestive system and brain. However, consumption of high doses of alcohol is associated with an increased risk of many diseases, and greater likelihood of having an accident.
Alcohol abuse is very serious implications, not only physical but also mental and even social. One is that the growing body needs greater amounts to achieve the desired feel, which makes alcohol levels become increasingly hazardous and toxic. Alcoholism occurs when an individual can not control himself the amount of alcohol consumed and not stopping until they almost lose consciousness. It is a public health problem, because it causes significant damage to the health of individuals and affects the society in which we live. Alcohol intoxication is a problem that may endanger the life of an individual for the treatment of these cases there are drugs to counter the effects of alcohol and thus reduce their toxicity. In such cases, it is always necessary to go to a hospital seeking professional care.

Beware of the breathalyzer

This device is like a small bag with a tube at one end, which the police is used to detect people who are driving vehicles while intoxicated. With this simple measure police has prevented many accidents, especially in the early hours of the holidays. What you do is put the driver of the car to a simple test in which he blows into a device that measures the level of alcohol in the air leaving your lungs and the level of alcohol in the breath is equivalent to the alcohol level in blood, and from a certain point it is considered that this person can not drive a car, as your reflexes and mental state in general are not optimal and may cause an accident . The Breathalyzer does not measure the level of alcohol in the mouth, so the use of pills or gum to try to fool the device is useless, because what is detected is the alcohol out of the lungs.

Methanol- Danger for Sight

It is a compound very similar to alcohol, not only from the molecular point of view, but also physically: both has lack of color and evaporated and dissolved in water easily. Despite their many similarities, there are very important differences between these two compounds, the main one is that if the methanol comes into contact with the agency (either through the skin or ingested in adulterated drinks) causes alterations in blood and irreversible damage to the retina of the eye, causing blindness. 15 ml enough to cause blindness, and between 70 to 100 ml to cause death if the patient does not receive timely care. Methanol is cheaper than alcohol, so it is sometimes used illegally in the production of alcoholic beverages to cut costs and increase profits. It is therefore very important not to drink bottled that are not properly labeled.

The spirit of the pharmacy is not for drinking

We often think that alcohol sold for clinical use (in drugstores), also called "Spirit of 96", we can drink and it is not, even though it is derived from sugar cane (such as rum and some spirits).Industrial process which is subjected during its production to add (glutaraldehyde) to produce large quantities quickly is highly toxic . It is difficult to leave house to go to the gym or a walk in a cold, wet day. Never give up your health during the colder months! These tips can help you stay warm when the weather gets brisk.

Dress in layers for testing. When you start your workout, you will still be cold and need the extra heat. As you warm, you can remove as many layers as you need to.
Wear a hat, Without a hat, much heat is lost through your head. Make it hot, and make it comfortable then you'll want to wear it! Avoid spicy or uncomfortable hats.
Pick-weather gear for rainy or snowy tests. You do not want to be out if you are wet and cold. Take the reflective gear if you are going to be out at dawn or dusk. Is this more to help people the way you point, rather than make you more comfortable - but what could be more comfortable that not being beaten by a car? Distract yourself with the company! Get proof that a partner will help you stay motivated and dedicated during the dead of winter.
During really cold days, have a backup plan. Pick a fun test DVDs or planning to visit a friend who has a home gym equipment. The real advantage to stick to this test during the colder months? You can work harder and burn CDs more calories without really feeling it. In cold weather, your body still generates much heat but that heat is dissipated faster. You will work at higher intensities, but not feel sweaty and uncomfortable.

This affects not only their physical but also psychological and social condition.

The integrity of the human body is vital for the organs and systems to function properly, the mouth is no exception. Have teeth in good condition is not only important for chewing and good nutrition, but also has an important role in the aesthetic, the mechanism of language and quality of life. The mouth may be a reflection of the person's health education, nutritional status and certain systemic diseases and the means to help identify adverse reactions to multiple drugs. Taste disorders may also occur in this time of life, including candy is the least affected, followed by salty.

if there are lesions or sores on the surface of the tongue, or the amount and odor of saliva, the color and appearance of the mucosa and the existence and condition of the teeth should be studied by exploring the oral cavity. If you wear dentures, it must be correct. The best way to prevent problems such as gingivitis and periodontists, is oral cavity cleaning should be performed with anti plaque products with proper brushing. Regarding dental caries, the best is a good cleaning with fluoride rinses, and to go for a dentist to remove plaque and tartar after every six months. Anti plaque mouthwash, followed by a thorough tooth brushing and flossing ,actually prevent plaque from building up.

Ear
Too often older people have hearing problems, and this is extremely important because it predisposes to isolation, introversion, and feelings of distrust.

It is common that hearing loss may be secondary to problems in the outer ear, as the hardened wax plugs may come to occupy the ear canal, the growth of hairs in the ear canal or the stiffness and dryness of the
walls. These are problems that are detected by physical examination and easily corrected. Because the skin of the ear canal is very thin and sensitive it is easy to hurt, so a specialist should perform cleaning in ears. No need to use cotton swabs to clean, it causes the wax to compact and hurt the skin of the ear canal and tympanic membrane, nor should any water in the ears while bathing.

In addition to altering the taste and hearing age also affects the sense of smell. The nose is to assess the symmetry and to feel its structure, to observe the mucosa and humidity, whether the septum is aligned and if the permeability of the mass is correct, clean nose by cutting the vibrio-forces (hair) and clear the nasal secretions with the help of cotton swabs, tissues and perhaps saline to facilitate the procedure.
Although not overdo the cleaning of the orifice because it can injure the skin or mucous membranes but it is important to note these hygienic measures to avoid these problems.

These changes occur by decreasing
testosterone levels, diabetes mellitus, peripheral vascular disorders, medication and neuropathies.

Diagnosis

In any disease, the diagnostic process should be detailed enough to find the correct etiology and to determine the most appropriate treatment. In the case of erectile dysfunction we often not succeed in establishing the exact etiology or an accurate diagnosis, or if achieved, the cause is not reversible, for example, it is possible to reverse diabetic neuropathy.
To establish the diagnosis can be followed several techniques such as arteriography and pressure measurements of the cavernous artery occlusion, with some benefit in selected cases. However, with the advent of effective oral medications, many patients do not want an evaluation, but only receive treatment prescription. In this way the diagnostic process, that once was pretty invasive, can now be tailored to each individual.

Treatment

The physician should inform patients about treatment options, detailing the advantages and disadvantages of each. Should clarify whether the choice it offers is curative or palliative aims to restore permanently the first erection of the patients and includes the correction or suspension of the causal factors. The palliative treatment only give an adequate erection at the time of intercourse, so it should be used whenever the patient has an event of this nature.
After many years of applying invasive treatments, the medical community now has compounds that, while not perfect, are much closer to the ideal treatment than anyone could have imagined just a decade ago.
As mentioned, before 1973 the treatment options for erectile dysfunction were limited, but in the middle of that decade the development of effective penile prosthesis made to increase the number of patients seeking this alternative. In 1982 the accidental discovery of intracavernous injection of papaverine caused the erection created another important therapeutic option; Intracavernous self-injection of vasoactive drugs.
Little progress occurred in the late eighties with the use of vacuum devices, since the mid-nineties, with the approval of intrauterine therapy of alpostadil retral. But the most marked in the history of sexual medicine occurred in 1998 when it was approved sildenafil, the first truly effective oral medication for erectile dysfunction.
Today there is a group of drugs that share the mechanism of action, ie inhibition of phosphodiesterases, such as tadalafil, the var-denafil and the same sildenafil, drugs that cause vasodilation in the corpora cavernosa, which resulting in an erection.
However, there is a percentage of patients who do not respond to these treatment options, either by the severity of vascular damage, or the underlying disease of the disease and in those cases will have to consider the use of vacuum pumps or prostheses, which are rigid, malleable and inflatable.

It is also a condition that is increasing worldwide. Epidemiological studies show that approximately half of men over 40 years of age suffer from erectile dysfunction, and according to some statistical projections, by 2025 there will be over 300 000 000 in the world of men with erectile dysfunction. Before 1973 the treatment options for erectile dysfunction were limited to psychotherapy and intramuscular injections of testosterone, but since then, with the emergence of new alternatives, has significantly improved its handling.

Epidemiology

Erectile dysfunction, defined as the persistent inability to obtain or maintain an erection sufficient to carry out a
satisfying sexual relationship, is a common condition among men around the world. In 2005, more than 25 million men aged between 40 and 70 years had this condition in the United States. In Latin America it is estimated that between 40 and 46% of the population in that age range have some form of erectile dysfunction. Specifically, in 2001 a study in Mexico showed that 55% of the sample of 1200 men between 40 and 70 years of age, and 9.7% of men between 18 and 39, suffered from some degree of erectile dysfunction.

Risk Factors

There are a number of factors associated with erectile dysfunction, the most common are diabetes mellitus, hypogonadism, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, hypercholesterolemia, use of certain drugs, neurological disease, Peyronie's disease, alcoholism, smoking, depression and kidney's failure.

Diabetes mellitus

In these patients the vascular causes of erectile dysfunction can be prevented by reducing or eliminating risk factors including smoking, hypertension, obesity, hypercholesterolemia and sedentary, the prevalence in these patients increases with age, but there is no statistical correlation between duration of diabetes and erectile dysfunction

Hypercholesterolemia

In a study conducted in 3250 men showed that when they exceeded 60 mg / dl of HDL there is a 30% chance of suffering erectile dysfunction, and it increases to 80% when the HDL is less than 30 mg / dl, This demonstrates the importance of the levels of HDL cholesterol in the pathophysiology of the disease.

Hypertension

Systemic arterial hypertension leads to a deterioration of erectile function in most patients, which is aggravated by the association of factors such as diabetes and smoking.Erection also significantly decreased by antihypertensive drugs while in response to vasoactive drugs useful in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Smoking

Smoking is a risk factor for the development of atherosclerosis in the pudendal and penile arteries, common in young patients with erectile dysfunction. Strong smokers or heavy smokers have more atherosclerosis with hemodynamic alterations than that of light smokers. Arterial damage occurs by acceleration of the sclerosis of the intima and by changes in cholesterol levels associated with smoking.

Hormonal disturbances

Alterations of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis may be related to erectile dysfunction. At age 70 testosterone levels are 30% below the lower limit in younger patients. With increasing age, there is also a reduction in the production of prolactin.

We have some amazing technology available - and some amazing stuff coming down the pike. Go look at some new technology that will soon be available for diabetics.

Nasal insulin sprays are currently being tested by two different drug companies (Bentley and Nastech). The early data from both drug companies show that insulin is absorbed more rapidly when inhaled rather than injected. This could mean that managing blood sugar will be faster and easier in the near future.

Tired of pricking your finger and squeeze a drop of blood every time you want to check your blood sugar? Researchers at the University of California, Irvine working on a breath test that can check their blood sugar levels. The experimental test measures levels of methyl nitrate in the breath - these levels are much higher when blood sugar levels are high. With an easy test, diabetics could quickly and easily check blood sugar more often throughout the day. This would help them recognize patterns - when blood sugar club and when it falls.

Combine the speed, ease, and convenience of an alcohol test with an insulin nasal spray and the disease could be much more manageable. I know my grandmother is not a fan of the finger stick test, and struggles that test their blood sugar more often than not. I would love to see her be able to use a breath test to measure their blood sugar four times a day your doctor has requested.

And there may well be a cure for diabetes in our lives.

Researchers at the University of Washington School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri working on a way to cure diabetes in monkeys. They have successfully taken cells that make insulin in the pancreas of a pig and monkeys have been implanted in diabetics. The researchers are confident that this will cure diabetes in monkeys and human evaluations initial look the same procedure in the next few years.

Now Dr. Mary Vernon and other doctors prescribe a carb-free diet and see their patients go through amazing changes. Vernon said that removing carbohydrates from the diet of a diabetic can reverse symptoms and release a lifetime of injections and medications.
Since 1980, diabetes has increased in the United States at 47 percent. Diabetes is a major cause of heart disease and comes with other potential complications such as vision problems, nerve damage at the ends, and kidney failure. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for people with diabetes.
Vernon's strategy is a simple. Fat, protein, and fiber have little to no impact on blood sugar levels. Carbohydrates (such as starches and sugars) are rapidly divided and absorbed into the bloodstream, causing dramatic changes in blood sugar levels. Almost makes sense that limiting (or eliminating) carbohydrates can help control blood sugar. You really need a certain amount of carbs in your diet to provide fiber, vitamins, and minerals. But they do not have to be the main focus of your diet.
As an added bonus, cutting carbs often means eating fewer calories in general - that can help a person lose weight. The drop extra pounds means that you take the strain on your heart and reduces your body's resistance to insulin.
Some doctors criticize the long-standing recommendation of the American Diabetes Association diet focused on grains and carbs. Look at the food pyramid: most of a person's diet should come from grains.
History may be on the side of the carbohydrate-free diet. In the late 1800's and early 1900, Elliott Proctor Joslin, MD treated dozens of patients with diabetes with a diet was carbohydrate-only ten percent. However, once insulin was put into regular use as a treatment for diabetes, dietary change fell by the wayside. A Duke University study from 2003 says Dr. Vernon and other doctors who encourage a carb-free diet. More than sixteen-week study, 17 of 21 participants were able to reduce or discontinue their medication for diabetes after switching to a carb-free diet. But do not end up a low-carb to be worse for you, because it is high in fat? Not necessarily. Studies show that the change of diet can work very well for short-term diabetics. And look at Inuit in Greenland for example - your diet is mainly protein and fat with very little carbohydrates, and only one person in 1800 suffers from diabetes.

How to use carbohydrate counting to control blood sugars for a diabetic diet in this free healthy living video
