Ragini Dwivedi of Veera Madhakari fame turned 19 yesterday. She said, "I'm feeling very independent, more confident and dreaming big". She celebrated her birthday with her family in Chennai. Her father and brother visited her at Chennai, where she is shooting for her first Tamil film, titled Ariyaan.

The model-turned-actress recently signed another Tamil movie. She said,"It's a story about friendship with a suspense ending. I'll start shooting for this film from June 15". Ragini is already signed with Shekhar for a new Kannada film recently. She further said, "She is planning to move to Mumbai, as she is getting a lot of projects from Mumbai".

Controversies seems to be chasing our Priyamani always. Priyamani the National Award-winning actress isn't worried about them. First, there was a reprot that she would be on the cover page of men's magazine with a bikini in the Telugu flick, Drona. Then there was a report which mentioned she was paid an additional Rs.20 lakhs for her biniki act in Drona and because the film didn't do well, the producer's didn't honour the payment.

Then, came the news, she will be soon act with Mahesh Babu for his forthcoming Varudu movie and it was reported the two had done a photoshoot together for the movie. When a journalist ask her about this. She said, "First of all, I've never done a two-herione project, which is what Varudu is expected to be. Secondly, I've never seen or met Mahesh Babu. So where's the question of me even doing a photoshoot with him?". she laughed and further said, "If it's a lead role, I wouldn't mind working him."

Well, there seems to be one actress who is sure what she wants. What can we say, "Way to go girl".

Well, it is a known fact in Sandalwood Industry that a lot of Kannada Producers and Directors have been trying to get Telugu Actress Illeana D'Cruz in one of their Kannada Movies, which as been in vain till. Now suddenly there seems to be buzz in the industry that Illeana will be debuting in Bindas film Producer Chandrashekhar's forthcoming flick.

Now, if everything goes right, Golden Star Ganesh will be acting alongside Illeana. Ganesh who is shooting for Ullasa Utsaha will be shooting for next movie with Preetham Gubbi. Industry sources feel there are all indications that Illeana will start shooting after completion of Preetham Gubbi's movie.

Bharath who had directed Kanti with Murali and Ramya in the cast will be directing the movie. After the movie Kanti, Bharath who did not get any offers and is reportedly eager to direct Ganesh and Illeana in the movie.

Illeana, the 22-year old actress born in Mumbai is a Roman Catholic and mother is a muslim. She entered the film industry through Telugu movie Devadasu. Illeana who had been a model had appeared in Fair and Lovely ad earlier. Illeana became a household name in Andhra Pradesh with the blockbuster Pokkiri along with Mahesh Babu.

Kichcha Huchcha's shooting as commenced in Bangalore which will be directed by Gurudatt, produced by K. Manju and Mark Balaji. The movie has Sudeep and Ramya in the lead roles and was launched in the first week of this month. This film is a remake of Tamil Hit movie Chiththiram Pesudade which was directed by Myshkin.

Gurudatt said he is following the script faithfully, though a little changes as been implemented into it. He further said, Srinath will be see in a special role of a father and daugther in the film.

Sudeep said the title of the movie is not connected to the film and it as been chosen because of commercial interests. He said, he hoped Gurudatt will do a good job in the film, as he has a good story to back him up.

Ramya the lead of the movies said she is playing a role of determined girl. "It is sweet role. I am once again teamed up with Sudeep. We are providing to be lucky and I hope that we will continue giving hits."

S. Narayan is back again with Chitra!

S. Narayan's son Pankaj, who had a disastrous debut in Chaitrada Chandrama will be back with Chigurina Chilipili. Not able to bear the blunder created with Chaitrada Chandrama, S. Narayan is once again directing this movie for his son with title Chigurina Chilipili.

S. Narayan's movies which almost starts with Cha or Chi is becoming a sort of numerologically secret. Earlier his movies which were named Cheluvina Chittar, Chaitrada Chandrama, Chellidaru Sampigeya are examples to the numerology twist to his movie titles.

After debuting in Sandalwood Industry, Shubha Poonja was never had any hits till date, maybe with dubious exception of Moggina Manassu. But still Shubha Poonja is being signed for a movie opposite Diganth recently. Shubha Poonja who appeared with Vijay in Slum Bala and with Prasanth in Anjadiru didnt set the cash registers ringing. The girl is currently working with favourite co-star Vijay in Thaakath and with Vijay Raghavendra in Golmal.

Diganth who is also on the same page as Shubha Poonja with limited acting skills, is getting abundant offers from the filmmakers. His current projects which include Manasare from Yogaraj Bhat, E-Preethi, Housefull and Bisile are some of them to prove.

Namma Director Dinesh Baboo who debuted with Idhu Sandhya in 1988 as director, who also created a record by filming the movie featuring eight stars in 48 hours with a shoestring budget of just 1.5 million INR is at it again.

He as just finished two movies in just two weeks. Now, that is really a trend setter for Namma Sandalwood Directors, who are struggling to give good movies to our Sandalwood Industry. Idhu Sadhya which set a Guiness Record of fastest completion of an Indian film was hugely sucessful thriller in 1988. The movie which was a drama theatre where the film was shot mingles into the theme and almost becomes a character of the movie. The movie was a trend setter because of its brilliantly handling of direction, screenplay and cinematography.

Dinesh Baboo who has always found shortcut route to filming the movies, he wrapped up - Eradane Maduve with Anant Nag, Suhashini, Prem and Jennifer Kotwal in 11 days and Mr. Painter with Yogi in 15 days time. Even though the films were made with an high budget of Rs.1 crore each, he maintains he has not cut corners to film the movies.

Talking to Bangalore Times, he said, "Most of the films that are shot in 35-40 days have six songs and three fight sequences and are shot in different locations. However, both my films are shot at one location and have one song each." Both the films are currently under post-production and are slated to release in the first week of June.

Now, we need to see if Dinesh Baboo being one of the in-demand director would deliver who as churned out good movies from time-to-time. Let us wait and watch!

Well, when everyone is forgetting about getting a pay hike in their salary this year, Sandalwood as surprised many with Sandalwood Top-Stars getting their pay packs being hiked.

Sandalwood's top-stars like Shivarajkumar, Darshan, Puneeth, Ganesh and Upendra have crossed Rs.1-crore mark pay hike for their movies. Puneeth was the only one who was close to a 'crore' mark after churning out hits after hits in the recent years.

Puneeth Rajkumar's remuneration per film as been doubled to Rs. 2 crore with 'Raam' movie on the floor. Darshan, Shivarajkumar, Ganesh and Upendra have got what they want in the movies which are on the floor. Sudeep who used to be in Rs.50 lakhs bracket as start to get more with his new movies on the floor.

Of course, this numbers are unofficial and no actor or producer will go on record about their remuneration to invite a trouble from IT department.

Hatrick Hodi Maga is a heartbreaking film!

Even hip created with the title controversy of the movie would not be able to save the movie. R.G. Vijayasarthy review on Rediff says it all. The publicity design created by Hatrick Hodi Maga is a heart breaking film. It is indeed one! Now, that was the expression from one of the regular review writers on movies.

Kannada film fans who look at Rajkumar family's movies look out for a decent and family value movies. Hatrick Hodi Maga doesnt create that environment at all in the movie. Shivarajkumar, one of the serious-most and experienced actor in Kannada is seriously getting into habit of churning out bad movies.

Shivarajkumar who as acted in some of the wonderful gangster movies like Om, Jogi and AK 47, so let his fans once again with the contrived plots in the movie. Director PN Sathya who has given many gangster films to Kannad industry earlier has dished-out yet another crude film. Sathya who is also the story, screenplay and dialogues writer for the movie as completely lost out on the movie.

The story starts with Surya, a well educated young man who enjoys a peaceful life with his mother and a physically challenged sister. His family's existence is threatened by rivalry between two dons in the city. Surya's sister is kidnaped, raped and killed by one of the don. And the revenege saga takes over from there on.

Shivarajkumar is good at fight sequences and dances as usual. Despite age catching up with Shivarajkumar, he has been able to extreme agility on the screen. Nicolette Bird has an insignificant role that is limited to a few songs and some scenes. As usual Shivarjkumar is good in fight sequences and dances. Despite his age, he shows extreme agility. Finally, it can be said, Hatrick Hodi Maga is going be a worst movie of the year in Kannada.

Sudharani's daughter debuts!

Sudharani's daughter debuts in Kannada movie Idu Chakravyuha. Nidhi aged seven will be appearing with her mother in Idhu Chakravyuha. Sudharani who debuted at the age of 13 with Anand, which was also the debut movie for Shivarajkumar. Shree Pranja finishes 10!

Shree Prajna who will be seen in the future release Preethse Preethse, Malle Billu and Kencha as just finished her 10th class. Shree Prajna was on the cloud nine, after she passed her tenth standard. Speak to Bangalore Times, She said,"I was thrilled to see my results. I prepared for the exams just three days in advance and I couldn't believe that I got more marks than I expected."

She further said, "My scores have inspired me to take up higher studies. I might take up arts". Prajna who is a Bhartnatyam studies will soon be appearing for junior level. On the career front, she already has three movies lined up for releases in the month of June.

Shruth's divorce episode takes a new dimension with Journalist Chakravarthy who had earlier directed movies like Januma spoke to Chitraloka journalist said, "Yes, I was in love with Shruthi from past one year. But for the break-up of Shruthi with Mahender, I am not reason".

Chakravarthy also know as Chandrachud is married and is having a six year old daughter. Show timings changed from May 15!

Kannada Film Industry think they have found a magic formula to bring the unwilling audience to the theatres back. The Producers of the Industry have decided to change the show timings for the theatres from May 15. Currently, morning show starts at 10.30 a.m., matinee shows at 1.30 p.m., first show at 4.30 p.m. and second show at 7.30 p.m.

Now the shows as been scheduled to start at 11.15 a.m., 2.30 p.m., 6.15 p.m., and 9.00 p.m and finally this timing would come to effect from May 15.

The producers after a series of flops and not able to give good movies decided to change the timings at the Producer's Association and Exhibitors meeting. Many Producers reportedly insisted on these changed timings would bring back the audience to the theatres. Now, it needs to be seen if the audience will be able to make the Kannada Film Industry wishes come true!

Ambareesh fans protest at Jaggesh's comments

Kannada Actor-turned Politician Ambareesh fans burst out on Comedy Actor Jaggesh after his insulting comments on Ambareesh. All Karnataka Ambareesh Fans Association held a protest march seeking Jaggesh's apology.

Earlier in a Election campaign, Jaggesh had said, "Ambareesh is not a great actor. Dr. Rajkumar is the best actor for him." This comment had irked Ambareesh fans and lead them to burn Jaggesh's effigy. They said, "Ambareesh had contributed a lot to Kannada films and Karnataka politics. Jaggesh has shown his cheap mentality by making comment on such great actor".
