CSI: Miami Heat Wave tests your snooping skills in a unique way. You step into the shoes of a rookie crime-scene investigator as you join the likes of Horatio Caine and other popular “celebrity” investigators. You will do everything a crime scene investigator does - snoop around, interrogate, use state-of-the-art lab equipment to search for evidence and catch criminals. And since this is a Facebook game, expect some fun social elements to help you make it a memorable interactive crime-themed game.

Evidence-Hunting and Interrogation Tips

The game is all about evidence-hunting and interrogating suspects. You will also have your own lab to conduct tests with the evidence collected from the crime scene. Once you find a lead, you get to interrogate a suspect. Hitting the right question earns you “Funding” (green dollars) and other goodies. Here are some more gameplay tips:

Hunting for Evidence

In every new case, you will have to reach a crime scene and click on tiles to search for evidence and items.

For every tile-search you spend one Energy. Choose your tiles wisely.

Try to click on those tiles that are closer to traces of blood, fallen shards of glass and other suspicious items beside the murdered person. This way, you might find evidence quickly.

Hitting the right tile does not always give you evidence, but it does give you a trace. You can then follow the trace arrow and collect evidence. Remember that each click costs precious energy points, so you can skip a tile or two while following a trace. This is one good way to spend less energy.

Clicking on tiles also gives you a random chance to earn Funding and XP. So don’t worry if you miss on an evidence item. You will always get something from a blank tile.

Make sure you have collected all evidence and items before leaving for your lab. Just click on the quest icon to check whether you have completed searching for all evidence or are there any more items remaining in the crime scene.

Processing Items and Evidence

Once you have collected all evidence, you ready to move to your state-of-the-art laboratory. There, you can process evidence, which will lead you to a suspect.
To process evidence, you will need some forensic chemicals. Called supplies in this game, these chemicals can be extracted from lab stations, which need to be built inside the lab. The supplies range from bio-agents to revealers and silicones to stabilizers.
Each supply can be produced using a station. Bio agents can be extracted from blue stations, revealers can be extracted from green stations, silicones can be produced using orange stations and stabilizer can be extracted from purple stations.
To build a lab station click Shop at the bottom-right corner of the screen >Buy Lab Items> Station Tab and then place the station on an empty space.
Click on the station to extract supplies. They can be extracted every after 60 seconds. Some stations are slow at extracting supplies whereas others are quick. You will get to know about each station and its features if you place your mouse cursor on a lab preview in Station tab.
To process evidence, click on the female lab acquaintance. Make sure you have the required number of supplies before you begin processing. Once all collected items are processed, the game will reveal suspects. You are then immediately taken to the interrogation cell where you will be asking questions to a suspect.

Questioning Suspects

Before questioning a suspect, make sure you select evidence and read about it in detail. You will then have to select the correct question from all three questions.
The comic book style speech clouds will contain questions like Why? How? When and What. Before clicking on a speech cloud, make sure you place your mouse cursor over it to get a complete preview of the question.
Don’t just blindly click on the question speech bubble. Remember that each click costs energy. Read the question carefully and then click on it which you think will nail the suspect. If you succeed, an icon will show your success story and you will earn funding and XP. An in-game animation will show the suspect has been jailed.

5 Tricks to Earn More Funding and XP

Funding is used to buy gadgets and stations from the market. XP is important for players to level up and unlock stations and other items. Here are some handy CSI: Miami Heat Wave tricks and tips that will help you earn green dollars and experience points:

Complete quests. Each quest, whether finding evidence within tiles, interrogating suspects or processing evidence, will earn you cash and XP.
Each question you ask, whether right or wrong, earns you funding.
Always keep track of your quests. Click on the quest icon to your left and note the rewards you will be getting after completing a quest.
Complete processing items to earn cash and XP.
While searching for evidence within tiles, you will occasionally earn cash and XP. Blank tiles give off cash on random occasions. If you are lucky enough, you get supplies also.

How to Use Gadgets

In CSI: Miami Heat Wave Facebook game, gadgets play a key role in saving those precious energy points. Gadgets let you search for evidence within tiles for free. This means you won’t have to spend energy if you use a gadget.

There are different types of gadgets, such as Flashlight, Ultra Flash, Florex and Mini Sunlit.

Each gadget allows for a limited number of free tile searches. For example: Flashlight allows 1 tile for free, whereas mini-sunlit allows 4 tile searches for free. You get access to gadgets from the third case onwards.

You will need to level up to unlock gadgets. For example, Ultra Flash unlocks when players level up to 5. There will be a limited number of gadget uses per day. You can use maximum of 10 gadgets per day.

Bonus Tips and Tricks

You can be a CSI Elite but for that you will need to spend CSI shields. Being a CSI Elite has its own advantages; you get faster energy recharges, can use more gadgets per day and unlock exclusive goodies. You can become CSI elite for one day; 7 days, even become permanent elite. But for that you will need at least 250 Shields.

You will need to pay real cash to get Shields, but there always another way around. You can complete simple tasks, such as listening to music, completing surveys, buying jewelry and items. I would suggest you complete free opinion surveys and free Crowdflower tasks.

To install more stations, you will need to expand your lab. Click on an empty space and check what requirements are there to unlock it. You can request for items from your friends to unlock space quickly.

To get 10 Free Energy, click on Inventory > Check your Resources tab and click on Instant Coffee to grant quick energy. You can use this twice.

All movable items can be stored on your Inventory. To move an item to your inventory, just click on the stash icon at the bottom and click on the station or item you want to move to your inventory.

Social elements do play a key part in CSI Miami Heat Wave. Add friends to earn free shields. To get additional revealers, bio agents, silicone and stabilizers, click on your friend’s icon below to visit his lab. You can also click on Horatio’s icon, visit his lab and click on his lab stations to get free supplies.
