I read back my yesterday's journal. I can say that it's totally Monday's depressing journal. It turned out, it's totally up to me. I realized that it would be easier if I just try to change point of view. Then I feel good. I just daydream about New York. It's fun actually!

Today I read this article. Wow, I want to live in NYC and I want to stop by there every weekends!!

Why do we work?

It's Monday. I repeatedly ask myself that why I work and what I work for. Work is just work. It's part of my life. But it's a huge part of my everyday life. It's supposed to be fun, bring me happiness and satisfaction. But now I don't feel any. It's sad. And then I ask myself what I want to do. Or I just daydream about my fun future.

Today I dreamt about New York. Actually I'm going to travel there in March. I just stay motivated for it. Just for it. It makes me happy when I think about it. At the same time, it makes me worry if something happens while I'm absence. I know everything goes well even if I'm absence. And I know that to take paid holidays are accepted right. But I still feel guilty. And my thoughts are looping back, and I ask my self why I work again...

Children and the Internet

Wow, according to this article, one third internet users around the world is a child. And they get benefits from the internet, at same time, they may face risks.

When I was a child, we don't connect any digital world. If I wanted to get some information, I just went to library and look into the information that I wanted to know. I know nowadays, it is completely different world. My niece and nephew know about everything how to use iPhone and computer even I don't teach those devices. For them, using iPhone or computer is absolutely ordinary activity. All the more reason, we need to realize there is risks like children’s private information, access to harmful content and cyberbullying.

If we leak personal information on the internet, we will never get it back again. We should know both advantage and disadvantage to using the internet especially for children. And we should teach them. Because there is no way to undo what happened.

Green sea turtles

Today, I read this article. According to this, almost the entire green turtle population in parts of the northern Great Barrier Reef in Australia is now female. I was surprised that green turtles gender are determined by temperature. And because of climate change, most of green turtles in northern Great Barrier Reef are female and they are classified as endangered species.

I feel sorry for this. We may are not able to avoid global warming and climate change. But we can decrease those problems if we try to do everything we can. First, I want to know about everything which happens in the world.

Today, I’m on a business trip. I was heading to Tokyo branch, it takes about 2 hours from my area. Basically, Tokyo is supposed to be fun place. At least I used to feel that. But I realized that it’s except business trip. When I move to Tokyo for my pleasure, bullet train is amazing train which is super fast, comfortable, great Mt. Fuji view from train and awesome movie theater. On the other hand, when I move to Tokyo for business trip, bullet train become just long distance train. It all about depends on how I’m feeling.

Anyway, I’m on a business trip in a cold rain. It’s disaster. I hope I can get home soon..

Limitless, unprecedented, beyond, ultimate, perfection and amazing.
We use those words a lot at work. I'm just wondering which place we are heading to? just wondering..
One thing, I can say that we want to accomplish our pursuit of perfection.

Looking back to my work, did I accomplish my work? I just realized that I just took a short view and I couldn't see a long view because I was really busy and I didn't time to take enough time. For now, I've just figured out. And then I have to change it.

Craving for Pizza!

I don't know why but I'm craving for pizza now. Since the beginning of this year, I have been eating Japanese cuisine. No offense, but Japanese food is healthy and it suits me rather than Chinese, Korean and other western cuisine.
However now I'm craving for Pizza!! I really need that mouth-melting extra cheesy pepperoni pizza!!

According to this article, a craving come from several areas of the brain. It's different from simply stomach hunger. Food cravings are more likely drug addiction, addictive behaviors such as gambling and over-shopping. Those desires follow similar neural pathways and activate brain areas related to emotion, memory and reward.

It's interesting. my all brain is controlled by pizza! Perhaps I'm going to eat pizza at tomorrow's lunch.

I watched Oprah's speech at the Golden Globes. She was just strong, beautiful and awakened our mind. I was inspired by her a lot. Now everyone wants Oprah Winfrey to run for president 2020. I'm not a political person but her speech was exactly like a presidential candidate.

Anyhow I was inspired that she said speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have.

I read this article. According to this, the Merriam-Webster online dictionary names a word of the year is "feminism”. It's based on the highest number of searches. Online searches for “feminism” increased 70 percent from 2016 to 2017.

Women's place are everywhere if we desire something. Oprah said that there is a brighter morning, even during our darkest nights. A new day is on the horizon!

Awww, finally I have to work after the new year holiday break. I already went to the office for work. But it was already three days ago. Awwww, I forgot everything.
I just need positive mind.
I thought that as for work, I will try to not work too hard. It's positive way. Last year I was really exhausted about work. I was thinking about it during free time. It was not good at all. Essentially I am optimistic fun person. Once I step out from the office, I forget everything. Obviously it's none of my business. But I didn't do this last year. I will do this year.

I watched this TED talk. It's really interesting.

The real battle is not against competitors. The real battle is against ourselves, against our bureaucracy, our complicatedness. Only we can fight, we can do it.

my cutest cats

I'd like to write about my cats more. They were stray cats.

White one named Shiro-chan was one of stray siblings. One day, a friend of a friend called me that he found small small kittens in his car. At that time, I couldn't leave them because I knew if I leave them there, they would die easily. I decided to adopt all of them. But it was not easy to take care of them. They were really really small kittens, even they didn't open their eyes. They kept crying to find their mom for milk. I fed them a milk. I looked after them taking pee and poo. Basically I tried to be their mom. It was about 16 years ago.

Orange one named Ricky was also stray cat. Actually 6 months before he came here, Kuro-chan who was Shiro-chan's one of siblings just passed away. We(Shiro-chan and me) tried to be normal but he seemed really sad and lonely at that time. I understood his feelings because Shiro-chan and Kuro-can were always together for 11 years. Ricky was found by my friend. Unfortunately he lived in his home with dog, he couldn't take Ricky. So I decided to take care of him. But I worried about Shiro-chan. Because he just lost his sister, I didn't know whether he could accept Ricky or not. First, they didn't fit well together. They hid each other and growled each other for over one week. And suddenly they accepted each other and slept to huddle together. I was really relieved and then they became like a parent and child.

I'm feeling that we are family. I have responsibility to take care of them. More than that, they give me a lot of happiness. I'm just crossing my fingers that we will keep it as much as we can.

I love traveling. If I had a chance to visit, I'd love to travel all of the world in my entire life. Unfortunately, the basis of my livelihood is here. My work, family, boyfriend and cats! My only anxiety during travel abroad would be my cats. Work is just only part of my life. And I can go abroad with family and boyfriend. But cats.. I can't go there with cats.

They are normally really friendly, relaxed, independent, peaceful and make me feel happy. When I go to the bed, they welcome to me and sleep together. It's my happiest moment.

I really love to travel everywhere. But I'm just wondering it would be great if cats could come with me.

Of course they might not want to come with me. Their heaven is here and they want to stay on my bed all the time.

Daydreaming

I daydreamed to travel to NYC during work. Actually I'm plannning to visit NYC in this March. It will be in 2 months. News caster reported that winter storm hits New York City with powerful winds and up to 13 inches of snow and over 2,000 flights suspended. It seems like freezing but my daydreaming just keep dreaming..

Eel bowl

If someone ask me the most favorite food, I would answer that it's eel bowl. In fact, my boyfriend and I often visit eel restaurant. And if we haven't visit for a while, even if it has been for only 2 weeks, we would keep craving for eel bowls. we just juke around.
Anyway, we went out for eel bowl lunch since last month. Actually our favorite restaurant has still new year holiday, so we went to second favorite one.
It was magnificent!
Tomorrow, my work will start. I can't believe that it begins. I think I would off to a good start because of eel bowl.

Last year, I had to think about work constantly even at home. I have just read this article. 'Daydreaming is Good. It Means You’re Smart'. You know what, I will try to relax at work and daydreaming all the time this year.

Today, I just read a news on the internet. According to this, YouTube star apologised for showing apparent dead body in video of Japan's 'suicide forest'. And then I watched his several videos on YouTube. He seems to stay in Japan and he uploaded crazy videos during his stay. It's totally disgusting. It makes me sick. He doesn't respect Japan at all. He is just thoughtless idiot gaijin. He apologized for showing dead body video for his fans and victims and his family. But it turns out I think he doesn't think anything. He just needs views and subscribers. Otherwise it's no way that he upload those unrespectable videos.

Anyway that's none of my business. But I just want to say that I want to be a person who has spiritual richness even though I'm not rich.

When I took a walk around my neighborhood, I looked up at the sky in a meantime. It was a beautiful sky despite cold windy day. It just motivate me and it also makes me happy. It's simple but means a lot.

Most of people who live in the first world love shopping. In Japan, on the 2nd January means it starts a clearance sale. It’s sort of war. Today, I forgot it and just went out for a coffee. And I just got into it. It was completely mess. Basically I love shopping. It brings me not only the physical things but happiness and satisfactory. But not for sale. It’s just pain and confusion. So I don't like shopping on the 2nd January.

Especially shopping for lucky bags. We call it as a Fukubukuro. Fukubukuro is a Japanese New Year custom in which merchants make grab bags filled with unknown random contents and sell them for a substantial discount, usually 50% or more off the list price of the items contained within. Sometimes people line up long hours for take it. But it turns out that it might be the unwanted things.

Anyway there were extraordinary many people at shopping district. I just bought some foodstuffs and got home.

Wow!! It's been a super while!
Looking back on this year's activities, I haven't touched English at all and even I haven't any purposes and ambitions. In 2018, I want to be more motivated and be fascinated for something except work. Actually work is just work.

First, I want to try write this journal everyday. It would be small step but it would be great if I can continue it. Second, I want to speak English thirty minutes everyday. Here in Japan, we don't need English at all. Everything set in Japanese. But I just try to focus on other direction, English enviroment is near here.
At last but very important, I want to change my mindset. I mean recently I have thought that everything is bothering at me. I'm not interested in anything. If someone asked something, I just gave an ambiguous nod and didn't answer anything. But I want to think my own and express my opinion to others.

Those are my new year's resolution in 2018.

By the way, I found this site. It's hilarious!! Have a great new year's eve!!

When I was a high school student, I really liked this film.
At that time, I was poor high school student and there was no Internet.
I really don't remember how I found the movie.
I was so inspired from it. I bought the soundtrack and laserdisc!
My room decorated as blue and dolphin. And I had been going neighbor aquarium to see dolphin.
And I could remember every scene and every insert back grand music.
Oh the movie remind me old high school memories!
When I look back on my youth, I wonder why I wanted to grow up so quickly.
And now, I'm looking back past years, I realize I haven't changed mentally at all.

I mean, I believe I can do everything if I really want to do.
And I’ve been thinking what is essential is invisible to the eye.
Also I still love this movie.

OMG! Officially, I got the flu A virus.
In my company, We are not able to come to work at least 5 days when we got the flu.
I can't go there until next Wednesday.
But it was found out earlier, I took a medicine ASAP and I already took a rest more than enough!!
I'm spending every single moment at home with cats.
I already watched 6 movies and now I'm watching Glee season 3 every episodes.
I'm bored so much!!

But cats make me relax and my boyfriend and friends care for me.
When it comes to think about my life, I never had such a freedom time.
Of course, I have the flu, I have a cough, a sore throat, a runny nose and my lower nose was peeled because I blew too much my nose. And I can't go out anywhere.
But more than that, I can do whatever I want.
So I decided to watch movies!

OMG!
It has been almost two months since I wrote my blog last time.
I've been thinking I'm lazy and no goals person.
But I want to do that I want, little by little.
First of all, I want to write this blog everyday from today. (I always write same purpose. Absolutely I thought so always. I couldn't keep doing this some reasons though.)

I decided to spend time with new kitten.
His name is Ricky (aka Chibi-chan). He is so smart and cute kitten.
He was hit by a car in front of Willton. Chris found him and he brought the kitten to animal hospital. Vet said no broken bones.
And then it was started that Willton teachers were looking for person who wanted to adopt the kitten.

For me, I just lost my black cat in this January. And my white cat has seemed really lonely and he seems old cat.
I thought he needs his partner like black cat.
But I also thought he might not be able to accept other cats.
So I was really worried about getting new kitten.
At first, I tried to meet them each other one night as a trial. They were hissing, punching and hiding each other, and then it ended in failure at day 1.
Secondly, I tried to keep spending them to same place almost 1 week. They were still hissing and hiding each other.
But after 1 week, I was surprised to find, Shiro-chan was licking Ricky's body!
I thought it gonna be ok finally.

And here is what I am now.
Ricky is getting bigger and taller. Shiro-chan and Ricky are playing, licking and sleeping together.
I learned many things from them.
Thank you Ricky and Shiro-chan and I hope we'll continue in the future as well!

I heard about shooting incident in the Eaton Centre in Toronto from Emmy.

As for the Eaton Centre, we went to there everyday when we stayed in Toronto.
It's centrally located in Toronto. There is a large shopping mall and it's served by two Toronto subway stations: Dundas and Queen.
There was shooting incident in the Eaton Centre in Toronto last Saturday.
At the time of the attack, the mall was heavily crowded with shoppers. Gunfire shots were heard in the lower level food court and near the Sport Chek store close to the Queen Street East entrance at Yonge Street.
This article reported that one man died and seven others injured. It was not shooting incident at random, it was gang-related attack.

And Takeshi sent a message to us that he was in there just until thirty minute before the incident.
How scary!!
