In the early summer of 1956, 23 year-old Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), just down from Oxford and determined to make his way in the film business, worked as a lowly assistant on the set of 'The Prince and the Showgirl'. The film that famously united Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) and Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams), who was also on honeymoon with her new husband, the playwright Aurthur Miller (Dougray Scott).

Family Guy: Something Something Something Darkside Trailer

"Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" is an upcoming hour-long episode of the FOX animated series Family Guy and the sequel episode to the Star Wars parody "Blue Harvest", to be followed by the future spoof of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi currently named "We Have A Bad Feeling About This". It will retell the story of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as "Blue Harvest" did with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, recasting characters from Family Guy into roles from the film. It was originally scheduled to air as the 7th season finale, but has been pushed back to season 8. Like the previous installment, the poster for "Dark Side" is based on the design of an actual Star Wars poster.

The DVD release of Blue Harvest contained a brief read through of bits from "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side", as well as a brief teaser trailer. The characters of Chris, Peter, Lois, Stewie, Brian, Quagmire and Cleveland will be reprising their roles from the previous episode. As for new characters, the role of Boba Fett will be filled by the Giant Chicken, Peter's arch-nemesis. A sketch of Fett's character model can be very briefly seen in the trailer below, and there is a picture on the movie poster above. A poster also confirms that a black Mort Goldman will play Lando Calrissian and that Joe Swanson will appear as a probe droid. A limited edition lithograph confirms that Carl, the clerk of Quahog Mart and Chris' boss, will portray Yoda. One line that Leia (Lois) says to Luke (Chris) during the read through ("I don't know what it is, but when I kiss you, it's like kissing my brother", which is a quote from Back to the Future), was originally pitched by Seth MacFarlane during the DVD commentary of Blue Harvest. The title of this episode is a reference to a specific line from the season five episode "Barely Legal", which was used in a cutaway relating to Star Wars. The line is an inside joke relating to the Emperor figuring out the formula for great dialogue for Star Wars: while the Emperor was talking to a kneeling Darth Vader, he says "Something, something, something, dark side. Something, something, something, complete".

Marvel Reveals The Avengers Line-Up

Iron Man 2 footage was shown at Comic-Con last Friday and after the footage was shown producer Kevin Feige took part in a Q&A session. When you work for a company like Mavel, a simple Q&A session can be hectic; especial when Marvel has Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers coming out. There is millions of questions comic book nerds would like to ask; however, one person summed up what everyone wanted to know in one question:

Which heroes will be in The Avengers line-up?

I think we know. I think it’s going to be Iron Man and Thor, Captain America and Nick Fury. I think it’s safe to assume that there will be some members of the Hulk universe in the film as well. In terms of the additional I think Black Widow, sure. The SHIELD organization for sure. What’s exciting, for me, about The Avengers movie is seeing those four characters interact with each other. I think anywhere from the first issues of The Avengers to Civil War the dynamic between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark is just awesome, it’s fascinating. It brings out sides in others that won’t be brought out in the other franchises. Going forward with the mix is a whole other thing, I think it will be cool. So to pile on another 15 or 10, frankly more than four would be too many.

Is the Hulk in it?
Zak Penn is outlining it as we speak, so we’ll see.

In the past there has been talk of The Hulk actually being a villain in the film, which I think would be kinda cool.

James Cameron's Avatar: New Poster

Before Comic-Con we saw a poster which featured the face (or half the face) of a Na’vi alien from James Cameron’s Avatar. Now we have another poster in better quality that shows, what looks like, Sam Worthington’s Avatar.

The Na’vi are an alien race on a planet called Pandora. Scientists have figured out a way to grow their own Na’vi by mixing Na’vi and Human DNA. The humans then transfer their mind and consciousness into these Avatar’s which allows them to live and breathe on the planet and communicate with the Na’vi. The above image gives us an idea what Sam Worthington’s character will look like when he is in his Avatar form (human/Na’vi).

Next month the trailer will finally be released.

Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time - New Images

Empire was the first to get their hands on the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie posters, and now they have the first look at some high-res photos from the film. The image above shows Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) jumping out of a fountain.

Gary Oldman Talks About Batman 3

While on The Book of Eli panel at Comic-Con on Friday, Gary Oldman, who played Commissioner Gordon in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, said something that he probably shouldn’t have. He announced at the Warner Bros. Book of Eli panel that a third Batman film will go into production next year.

“I think the next Batman is next year,” he told a fan who asked about when the long-awaited “Dark Knight” follow-up would hit, “We start shooting next year. You didn’t hear that from me.”

Christopher Nolan, while he hasn’t committed to the third film, is expected to return to direct after he has finished Inception which will be released next July. If Warner Bros. give Nolan a few months break and time to write the script then they could very well be filming by the end of 2010.
