FillAnyPDF is a free online, SSL encrypted PDF form editor that allows you to upload your PDF form so that others can fill it out and even sign it online. While it's marketed as a replacement option to the fax, the appeal and practical uses are probably broader than that. Small business, non profits and volunteer groups who have limited resources and lack techie know-how now have an easy way to collect information online for projects as they come up.

FillAnyPDF offers the ability to send forms via an email link, HTML link, or to embed the entire form in HTML on your website. As the forms are filled out, the data collected can then be emailed to you or you can access the data when you log in. Users don't have to register to fill out the form which is another nice feature. The interface is simple and while it is ad supported, the ads are non obstructive. You can easily search your forms using tags.

Still in beta, FillAnyPDF is developing upcoming features such as hosting FillAnyPDF software on enterprise users' servers, group sharing and collaboration, etc. Trusting an unproven start up with financial information or personal information like social security numbers isn't something I would be comfortable with, but for basic information collection, I think FillAnyPDF is a strong option to consider.

Google Buzz comes to Android

It was only a matter of time before Google delivered a souped-up version of its new social product, Buzz, to its mobile OS, Android. A slick Buzz widget has just launched for Android phones, and it should thoroughly satisfy Buzz junkies .

The widget lets you post and geotag new buzz, and it features background uploading, so you don't have to wait for it to finish posting before you go back to doing other things. It looks a heck of a lot nicer than the web app at buzz.google.com, and it's easier to use. It could be improved with some fancy Google Maps feature integration, but hey, it works pretty well as-is.

If you're going to use Buzz at all, mobile is the way to go, so it's good to see Buzz pulled out of the browser and given its own shiny Android interface.

Recycle bin for your USB

Usually, when we hunt for a kind of software, there are various alternatives available. When I went hunting for a portable recycle bin for my USB Flash drive, all I got was the iBin. Perhaps there are more there, but for now it seems that the iBin is one of its kind.

When we click Delete on any file in a memory device like a Memory Card or more commonly a Flash Drive, the file does not go to the Recycle Bin of the connected PC but vanishes forever. Even an Undo or a CTRL-Z cannot stop the final rite of passage.

iBin brings the Recycle Bin back to the USB Flash Drive. The portable recycle bin application works with any removable device in any version of Windows.

Like any other portable software, installation is dead simple. Download, unpack and run the iBin.exe file in any removable device. iBin creates the container to hold the deleted files in the device’s root folder.

When the memory device is connected, iBin works silently in the background and can be accessed from the System Tray icon with a click.

The iBin process is simple as the delete function itself. When a file deletion on, say a USB Flash drive takes place, iBin catches the action and pops up an alert.

The user has the option of deleting the file permanently or sending it to the iBin. The iBin works exactly like the Recycle Bin in that it keeps all the files unless deleted permanently. The files can be restored when needed.

iBin has two important centers of operations –

Dumping Management

The Dumping Management window is where the user gets to see all the deleted files in a scrollable view. It’s like the Recycle Bin with the Detail view. Files and folders have different icons and the file operations can be performed using the three buttons at the bottom.

Custom Options

Set your preferences from this window. One thing you might want to tweak is the Space Limit. You can move the slider to set the size limit for the iBin container to anything like 1% to 50% (of the total free size of the memory device).

The other important setting to consider is the button which sets up the Autorun.inf file to startup iBin whenever the Flash device is connected to the computer. The Windows OS should of course, allow the autorun.inf to run for iBin to start automatically.

iBin is a very compact solution for most of us who are quick draws with the Delete button. In our trigger happiness we often forget that a file deleted from the USB Flash drive disappears forever. Keeping that bad habit in light, iBin is an almost necessary part of any portable software suite.

Issac Newton was sitting under an apple tree, an apple fell on his head and that inspired Newton to develop his theory of gravity.

Today is the 366th birthday of Sir Isaac Newton and Google is celebrating it with an interesting logo on their homepage.

This is probably the first Google Doodle that’s animated but they haven’t used Flash or GIF animation for this logo – it’s a simple JavaScript.

Enable Master Control Panel in Windows 7 & Vista

Windows 7 has a GodMode which contain options to change almost every settings in Windows 7. It is an advanced control panel which provides access to all the features in one explorer window. Most popular email clients

If you have ever wanted to know which are the most popular email clients that people worldwide are using to read /open their emails, take a look at this graph.

Microsoft Outlook (including Outlook Express) is the most popular desktop email software followed by web-based email services from Yahoo Mail and Windows Live Hotmail.

These stats are based on the email client usage of more than 300 million people that was done by Campaign Monitor for some six months.

The company embeds a tracking image into their email messages and uses the referral information to determine the email client that was used to open that particular email.

That means if a person is reading his emails in offline mode or has turned off automatic image downloads (like in Gmail) or is using an email client that cannot display images (like older BlackBerry phones), his email client will go undetected.

It is also important to note that the above graph represents popularity of email clients and not email services. For instance, one could be using POP or IMAP to read his Gmail messages inside Outlook so that will increase the share of Outlook and not that of Gmail.

There’s little doubt that Yahoo! Mail is the more popular email service out there but another reason why its ranking so high in the list of email clients is because the free version of Yahoo Mail doesn’t offer POP functionality and therefore most people are using web browsers to check emails.

Google has released an interactive similar images explorer. The app is called Google Image Swirl, and it’s using the wonder wheel Flash visualization you might know from web search results.

Here’s how it works: you enter a query, like “lion”. After a bit of loading, and if your keyword is supported (not all queries are), you’ll be presented with some visual base categories Google could find:

Opening a category by clicking on it will start the star exploration, with your image in centre, surrounded by similar images. Clicking on a surrounding image will put it in focus, and new surrounding images are loaded dynamically:

Once you reached a final image with no more new neighbours, a click on it will take you to the original source site it’s crawled from:

In all of this, even due to its scripted Flash nature, the back button will take you to your last focus image. The app is fast, accessible, scaling pretty well to many keywords (not all – Google mentions there’s 200,000 at the moment), and on first glance it looks useful, too.
