Compact on the outside with an overall length of 161.6 inches, the interior provides an impressive passenger volume of 90.8 cubic feet for its class and a rear cargo volume of 20.6 cubic feet. The rear Magic Seat provides convenient one-motion dive-down functionality and can fold flat into the floor to create a rear cargo volume of 57.3 cubic feet.

Safety highlights include the Advanced Compatibility Engineeringâ„¢ (ACEâ„¢) body structure, standard anti-lock brakes and more. Dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags, dual front-side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) and side-curtain airbags are standard equipment on all models. Vehicle Stability Assistâ„¢ (VSA®), commonly referred to as electronic stability control, is included on Fit Sport models equipped with the available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System¹.

The engine produces 117 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 106 lb-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm. The Fit equipped with the available automatic transmission achieves an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) city/highway fuel economy rating of 28/35 miles per gallon² . The Fit with a manual transmission and Fit Sport with either a manual or the available automatic transmission achieve an EPA city/highway fuel economy rating of 27/33 miles per gallon2. Emissions ratings are CARB ULEV-2 and Federal EPA Tier 2, Bin 5.

The front MacPherson strut suspension and torsion beam rear suspension settings are tuned to provide a sporty, refined and dynamic driving experience. Fifteen- and 16-inch wheels (Fit and Fit Sport respectively) feature 175/65 R15 84S (Fit) and 185/55 R16 83H (Fit Sport) tires. The standard anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD) uses 10.3-inch ventilated discs in the front and 7.9-inch drums in the rear.

The Fit comes with standard amenities such as air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD audio system with four speakers, MP3/WMA playback capability, Radio Data System (RDS), auxiliary audio input jack, power windows, power mirrors and power door locks. The Fit Sport adds alloy wheels, an underbody aero kit, rear roofline spoiler, fog lights, security system with keyless remote entry and cruise control.

The Fit Sport audio system provides six speakers, a five-mode equalizer and a USB Audio Interface³. The Fit Sport is available with the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System⁴ with Voice Recognition, featuring a 6.5-inch screen and more than 7 million points of interest.

The Honda Fit has received multiple awards including the prestigious Car and Driver Magazine's 2009 "10Best" list (www.caranddriver.com) and Kelly Blue Book's (www.kbb.com) "Top 10 Green Car" and "Coolest New Cars Under $18,000" awards.

Honda Accord Crossover will join growing field of slope-backs

Add a new entrant to the list of sloped-back cars, reminiscent of the fastbacks of the 1970s and 1980s. This time it's the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour.

Honda is trying to portray Crosstour as being closest to a crossover. It rides higher than the Accord sedan even though it has a carlike ride. Honda is trying to capitalize on the SUV implosion, and here's how:

"Our concept is to broaden the appeal of the Accord lineup by leveraging traditional Accord strengths of fun-to-drive performance and handling while also adapting to dramatic shifts in the light-truck marketplace," said Erik Berkman, a Honda vice president "The Accord Crosstour accomplishes that by offering a modern interpretation of a CUV while integrating the refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan."

Honda says the Crosstour will have the original's basic lines while having a bolder grille. It goes on sale by the end of the year at a price yet to be announced.

Greensburg GreenTown raises $15,100

Greensburg GreenTown raised over $15,000 by auctioning off a 2007 Honda Civic GX. The winning bid on ebay for the Honda Civic GX was $15,100 with all proceeds benefiting Greensburg. Scholfield Honda is a sponsor of the film screening of FUEL, the 2008 Sundance Film Festival Best Documentary Audience Award winner, as the Tallgrass Third Thursday selection for July. The film investigates the possible replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy. It will screen at 7 p.m., July 16 at the Warren East Theatre (11611 E. 13th St.). CAST Party for Kyle Hicks

Scholfield Honda along with other local car dealerships and all of the local media outlets raised almost $6,000 for Team Kyle. This great event took place at All Star Adventure with all proceeds going to benefit Kyle Hicks.

Kyle has the inherited skin disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a painful disease. People born with EB lack the anchoring fibrils that hold the layers of skin together. They are sometimes referred to as butterfly children because their skin is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly.

Dr. John Wagner and his team at the University of Minnesota Fairview Clinic have pioneered treatment to develop the anchoring fibrils missing in EB skin. The treatment requires a bone marrow transplant.

In April, 2008, Kyle consulted with Dr. Wagner and was accepted to undergo this new treatment. A perfect bone marrow donor match was found early in the summer of 2008.

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant patients are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. Kyle's family is no exception. They chose to work with the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA). COTA is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-needy patients. Every dollar donated goes directly to Kyle's cause. As a 501 (c) (3) national charity organization, COTA provides services that are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

For $5 a throw, you have the chance at dunking Roger Scholfield, and help out the March of Dimes. Scholfield Body shop manager Brian Happy will also be in the lineup from 10am-11p.

Honda overtakes Toyota in survey

Honda claimed the top spot in an annual survey of automotive suppliers, knocking off Toyota from having the best rating among suppliers.

Toyota dropped to second in the survey by Planning Perspectives Inc. , which has conducted the survey since 2002, and Nissan came in third. Of the Big Three automakers from Detroit, Ford Motor Co.(NYSE: F) came in ahead of the other U.S. giants, followed by General Motors (NYSE: GM) and Chrysler LLC, which came in last overall in the survey for the second year in a row.

“Research we began in the early 1990s always showed Toyota as having the best relationship with its suppliers, but something seems to be changing,” said John Henke Jr., president of Michigan-based Planning Perspectives. “They’re looking a little more like U.S. automakers.”

Honda Insight first hybrid to rank top in Japan

TOKYO (Reuters) - Honda Motor Co said on Monday its new Insight model became the first hybrid to be crowned Japan's best-selling car last month.

The Insight went on sale in Japan in early February as Honda's first real attempt to challenge Toyota Motor Corp's dominance in the gasoline-electric hybrid segment.

A ranking of Japan's top 30 excluding 660cc minivehicles announced by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association showed the Insight selling 10,481 units in April, catapulting it from 21st place in March.

The car, whose main sell is its affordability with a price tag starting at 1.89 million yen ($19,190), was followed by Honda's Fit subcompact. read more here
