How Google AdSense Works

The webmaster inserts the AdSense JavaScript code into a webpage.

Each time this page is visited, the JavaScript code uses in lined JSON to display content fetched from Google’s servers.

For contextual advertisements, Google’s servers use a cache of the page to determine a set of high-value keywords. If keywords have been cached already, advertisements are served for those keywords based on the AdWords bidding system.

For site-targeted advertisements, the advertiser chooses the page(s) on which to display advertisements, and pays based on cost per mille (CPM), or the price advertisers choose to pay for every thousand advertisements displayed.

For referrals, Google adds money to the advertiser’s account when visitors either download the referred software or subscribe to the referred service. The referral program was retired in August 2008.

Search advertisements are added to the list of results after the visitor performs a search.

Because the JavaScript is sent to the Web browser when the page is requested, it is possible for other website owners to copy the JavaScript code into their own webpage. To protect against this type of fraud, AdSense customers can specify the pages on which advertisements should be shown. AdSense then ignores clicks from pages other than those specified.

Google's 24.5 Billion Cash in Profits

This year, I will be focusing more on news, events and tips that will make your earnings online increase. But I guess this news will be of interest to you.

On the occasion of the publication of the results of the fourth and final quarter of fiscal year 2009, Eric Schmidt – Google CEO – has indicated that by integrating 6.52 billion in profits over the year, the amount held by Google bank amounted to 24.5 billion dollars. For comparison, the latest Apple has about 30 billion dollars in cash in the bank.

But back to Google and its last quarter in which have been generated 6.67 billion dollars in revenue, representing 17% better than a year earlier. On this last quarter, net income reached reached $ 1.97 billion. Two thirds of this turnover is generated by Google’s services, the third being put into the account of the platform for online advertising AdSense. As such, Google said to have returned to its AdSense partners $ 1.47 billion. In addition, 250 million were distributed to industrial partners of the giant American, as for example Mozilla Firefox browser that integrates Google search engine as principal.

It remains to see what direction Google will do with the money raised in the bank. 2010 could in any case be an eventful year, as Eric Schmidt said the company wants to develop in the coming months, reflecting several vectors of external growth.

Google Chrome OS might release next week

What is up with Google and their operating system in waiting? What is Chrome OS to be or not to be? Rumour has it that Google will out their operating system next week as open source!

According to Google, Chrome OS is being designed with a minimalist approach. Chrome OS will depend on cloud computing, with most, applications residing on remotely hosted servers, rather than on the device itself. Chrome OS is aimed at users who spend most of their computer time on the Internet.

I am sure you have also bumped into some fake Google OS downloads online, but it seems the wait is over. It might be released to the public and coders for scrutiny this coming week. Again it is only rumour, but let’s be honest some of the best things in the world of computing got leaked by the rumour mill.

Will it be a proper OS with a small hardware footprint that siphons off a cloud in cyberspace, with all your applications floating around the web ready to be used when you log on? What will be the bandwidth requirements once it comes out and perhaps finds itself widely adopted?

There are tons of questions which will all hopefully be answered as soon as this coming week. Most trusted sources still stick to a release date set for next year. This could well still be true, but there is nothing wrong with hoping for an early Xmas present.

Google advances multiple efforts to make the Web faster

When you add up this week's top Google news, it paints a picture of a gargantuan, but immature, effort to make the Web faster. Google open sourced "Go" its experimental programming language that combines the speed of scripting languages with the speed and safety of compiled languages. It released an experimental replacement for HTTP known as "SPDY." Plus rumors are swirling that Chrome OS will be seen next week at last.

Here are a few more details:

Google Go is a newly announced programming language created by Google and released as an open source project. Some experts say that Go's syntax is friendly and easy like Python or Ruby on Rails while remaining familiar enough to those who know C-based languages. But it's an experimental language for all that. And it's a less-than-easy task to build a following for a new language. Google needs to commit to Go for the long term, work hard at championing and strengthening it until other developers have some reason to take on the learning curve to work with it.

SPDY, pronounced "SPeeDY", is an another experiment. SPDY would replace the HTTP protocol with a new application-layer protocol for transporting content over the web. It's inventors say it is designed to minimize "latency through features such as multiplexed streams, request prioritization and HTTP header compression," according to the blog post announcing it. It hasn't completely scrapped HTTP, but it's not a mere extension either. The protocol still uses HTTP headers, but it overrides other parts of the protocol, such as connection management and data transfer formats.

At least one thing stands in SPDY's way: Microsoft. For starters, browser would need to support it. While Google can do that with Chrome and still has lots of financial sway with Mozilla, how would Google would convince the mighty Microsoft to add it to Internet Explorer? And IE is still the preferred browser for corporations and most Windows users.

There's another little issue, too. Google is one company, a for-profit vendor at that. For SPDY, or any alternative to HTTP, to go anywhere it would need to be under the guidance of the standards organization that oversees the Internet, the IETF.

Word has it, too, that the much hyped, but as yet to be delivered, Chrome OS is about to be seen next week. So says blog site TechCrunch citing unnamed sources. Chrome OS, like the Chrome browser, is Google's attempt to make the Web faster, in this case by creating an operating system geared for cloud computing and taking much of the application the burden off the client.

Google may have big plans for a faster Internet. But the road to turn any of these efforts, much less all of them, into winners is long and cannot be conquered alone.

Are you wondering what the future of AdSense will be? That's the concern of every serious webmaster. Well, here are many ideas springing up concerning what AdSense will look like in the future and how the system will change as opposed to what it is now.

Firstly, it’s clear that targeting algorithms will become even better and more powerful then they are now. This has clearly been seen with the Google search engine itself over the last few years and it should be of no surprise as this happens with AdSense. Advertisers will appear in more appropriate results and those advertisers who manipulate their content to allow high paying keywords to appear may struggle to do this unless it is actually appropriate to their content.

Another thing which is bound to happen is more protection for AdWords advertisers concerning click fraud. Google acknowledges this to be a very key issue that it needs to address as quickly as possible and there’s no doubt it will happen as fast as possible. At the moment those who have high levels of traffic, can easily disguise IP addresses and increase CTR ( Click Through Rate).

Google is always keen on improving its products and this has been seen before in AdSense. The search engine company has introduced site-targeted AdSense CPM, “smart pricing” and domain blocking and there will probably be improvements that have already been added by other similar sites.

One such example is the option for the advertiser to have more control over where the content is being displayed. This could mean blocking your site from displaying on several addresses that host AdSense banners.

Another idea that has been advanced is that Google will integrate AdSense in other forms of media like newspapers or television and so on. While this might seem to be more on the science-fiction side of the facts there’s no indication that this might not happen.

Google have access to an international array of over 150,000 advertisers of whom may choose to penetrate offline markets in different countries. With Google’s strong network of advertisers, they may choose to appoint or allow offline distributors to create a format for Adwords advertising in content, in search and now offline.

More options could be implemented for AdSense publishers, allowing them to specify keywords of their own. While Google has been reluctant of this there’s no indication that this will not happen in the future.

Also, a lot of people are demanding a clear specification of the pricing policy of AdSense. Google has given no indication of why this isn’t public information but at this moment it seems highly unlikely that such information will ever be present on Google AdSense.

Another feature that could find itself into AdSense would be letting website publishers see which links are generating clicks on their website and based on what keywords they arrive there.

This could end up being a major issue that could threaten the entire system as it could perhaps encourage more adsense only websites as profits become more transparent. A lot of people may make AdSense-only sites, designed just for making profits through AdSense.

While this is already happening today, it might be foolish of Google to put such tools in the hands of its publishers.

However, one thing that could happen is a way for users to fix their issues with low AdSense generated income on their site. This could be done through an on-line wizard or something similar that would make suggestions to website owners based on their contents.

But the major buzzword of the day is RSS. The possibility of sending targeted ads directly to users without requiring any navigation on their behalf is becoming a reality with RSS. And there are clear signs that Google isn’t going to let such an opportunity pass by.

This is what “interactive television” and similar items have been trying to do for quite some time now. But the Internet would be a much better medium for this, because there are no mediums quite as interactive as the Internet.

But in the end, this is mostly speculation and we are bound to have Google surprising us with new features we would have never thought of.

21 Essential SEO Tips & Techniques

Small businesses are growing more aware of the need to understand and implement at least the basics of search engine optimization. But if you read a variety of small businesses blogs and Web sites, you’ll quickly see that there’s a lot of uncertainty over what makes up “the basics.” Without access to high-level consulting and without a lot of experience knowing what SEO resources can be trusted, there’s also a lot of misinformation about SEO strategies and tactics. Small Business SEO Checklist: The Do’s 1. Commit yourself to the process. SEO isn’t a one-time event. Search engine algorithms change regularly, so the tactics that worked last year may not work this year. SEO requires a long-term outlook and commitment. 2. Be patient. SEO isn’t about instant gratification. Results often take months to see, and this is especially true the smaller you are, and the newer you are to doing business online. 3. Ask a lot of questions when hiring an SEO company. It’s your job to know what kind of tactics the company uses. Ask for specifics. Ask if there are any risks involved. Then get online yourself and do your own research—about the company, about the tactics they discussed, and so forth. 4. Become a student of SEO. If you’re taking the do-it-yourself route, you’ll have to become a student of SEO and learn as much as you can. Luckily for you, there are plenty of great Web resources (like Search Engine Land) and several terrific books you can read. Aaron Wall’s SEO Book, Jennifer Laycock’s Small Business Guide to Search Engine Marketing, and Search Engine Optimization: An Hour a Day by Jennifer Grappone and Gradiva Couzin are three I’ve read and recommend. 5. Have web analytics in place at the start. You should have clearly defined goals for your SEO efforts, and you’ll need web analytics software in place so you can track what’s working and what’s not. 6. Build a great web site. I’m sure you want to show up on the first page of results. Ask yourself, “Is my site really one of the 10 best sites in the world on this topic?” Be honest. If it’s not, make it better. 7. Include a site map page. Spiders can’t index pages that can’t be crawled. A site map will help spiders find all the important pages on your site, and help the spider understand your site’s hierarchy. This is especially helpful if your site has a hard-to-crawl navigation menu. If your site is large, make several site map pages. Keep each one to less than 100 links. I tell clients 75 is the max to be safe. 8. Make SEO-friendly URLs. Use keywords in your URLs and file names, such asyourdomain.com/red-widgets.html. Don’t overdo it, though. A file with 3+ hyphens tends to look spammy and users may be hesitant to click on it. Related bonus tip: Use hyphens in URLs and file names, not underscores. Hyphens are treated as a “space,” while underscores are not. 9. Do keyword research at the start of the project. If you’re on a tight budget, use the free versions of Keyword Discovery or WordTracker, both of which also have more powerful paid versions. Ignore the numbers these tools show; what’s important is the relative volume of one keyword to another. Another good free tool is Google’s AdWords Keyword Tool, which doesn’t show exact numbers. 10. Open up a PPC account. Whether it’s Google’s AdWords or Yahoo’s Search Marketing or something else, this is a great way to get actual search volume for your keywords. Yes, it costs money, but if you have the budget it’s worth the investment. It’s also the solution if you didn’t like the “Be patient” suggestion above and are looking for instant visibility. 11. Use a unique and relevant title and meta description on every page. The page title is the single most important on-page SEO factor. It’s rare to rank highly for a primary term (2-3 words) without that term being part of the page title. The meta description tag won’t help you rank, but it will often appear as the text snippet below your listing, so it should include the relevant keyword(s) and be written so as to encourage searchers to click on your listing. Related bonus tip: You can ignore the Keywords meta altogether if you’d like; it’s close to inconsequential. If you use it, put misspellings in there, and any related keywords that don’t appear on the page. 12. Write for users first. Google, Yahoo, etc., have pretty powerful bots crawling the web, but to my knowledge these bots have never bought anything online, signed up for a newsletter, or picked up the phone to call about your services. Humans do those things, so write your page copy with humans in mind. Yes, you need keywords in the text, but don’t stuff each page like a Thanksgiving turkey. Keep it readable. 13. Create great, unique content. This is important for everyone, but it’s a particular challenge for online retailers. If you’re selling the same widget that 50 other retailers are selling, and everyone is using the boilerplate descriptions from the manufacturer, this is a great opportunity. Write your own product descriptions, using the keyword research you did earlier (see #9 above) to target actual words searchers use, and make product pages that blow the competition away. Plus, retailer or not, great content is a great way to get inbound links. 14. Use your keywords as anchor text when linking internally. Anchor text helps tells spiders what the linked-to page is about. Links that say “click here” do nothing for your search engine visibility. 15. Build links intelligently. Submit your site to quality, trusted directories such as Yahoo,DMOZ, Business.com, Aviva, and Best of the web. Seek links from authority sites in your industry. If local search matters to you (more on that coming up), seek links from trusted sites in your geographic area—the Chamber of Commerce, etc. Analyze the inbound links to your competitors to find links you can acquire, too. 16. Use press releases wisely. Developing a relationship with media covering your industry or your local region can be a great source of exposure, including getting links from trusted media web sites. Distributing releases online can be an effective link building tactic, and opens the door for exposure in news search sites. Related bonus tip: Only issue a release when you have something newsworthy to report. Don’t waste journalists’ time. 17. Start a blog and participate with other related blogs. Search engines, Google especially, love blogs for the fresh content and highly-structured data. Beyond that, there’s no better way to join the conversations that are already taking place about your industry and/or company. Reading and commenting on other blogs can also increase your exposure and help you acquire new links. Related bonus tip: Put your blog at yourdomain.com/blog so your main domain gets the benefit of any links to your blog posts. If that’s not possible, useblog.yourdomain.com. 18. Use social media marketing wisely. If your small business has a visual element, join the appropriate communities on Flickr and post high-quality photos there. If you’re a service-oriented business, use Yahoo Answers to position yourself as an expert in your industry. With any social media site you use, the first rule is don’t spam! Be an active, contributing member of the site. The idea is to interact with potential customers, not annoy them. 19. Take advantage of local search opportunities. Online research for offline buying is a growing trend. Optimize your site to catch local traffic by showing your address and local phone number prominently. Write a detailed Directions/Location page using neighborhoods and landmarks in the page text. Submit your site to the free local listings services that the major search engines offer. Make sure your site is listed in local/social directories such as CitySearch, Yelp, Local.com, etc., and encourage customers to leave reviews of your business on these sites, too. 20. Take advantage of the tools the search engines give you. Sign up for Google’swebmaster Central and Yahoo’s Site Explorer to learn more about how the search engines see your site, including how many inbound links they’re aware of. 21. Diversify your traffic sources. Google may bring you 70% of your traffic today, but what if the next big algorithm update hits you hard? What if your Google visibility goes away tomorrow? Newsletters and other subscriber-based content can help you hold on to traffic/customers no matter what the search engines do. One Slash that Can Damage Half of your SEO

Yes, A Tiny Wrong Slash After Your Domain Name URL Can Waste a Big Part of Link Building Job. This sounds strange, but it is true and we are going to show you how to avoid the mistake which people are doing very often. This mistake has popped up after a heated debates on one of the SEO forums. If you do not know how to safeguard yourself from this mistake, a big portion of your link building job can go down the drain. For you to understand the mistake we need to start from a little weird topic. Do You Know that... your domain name with the slash after .com (or .info or .ws - whatever) and your domain name without slash are TWO DIFFERENT PAGES for Google. For example, http://the-las-vegas-vacations.blogspot.com/ (with slash after .com) and http://the-las-vegas-vacations.blogspot.com (without the slash after .com) are two different pages. And this is the same for all sites, for all types of domains. Yes, when you type them into the browser and hit Enter - you will get to the same home page and will never notice any difference. So, for the visitors of your site that does not make any difference, and they don’t bother. The Problem is... that when you are building backlinks to the home page of your site, very often you do not pay attention to this slash/non-slash issue. Sometimes you build backlinks to the domain with slash, sometimes to the domain without slash. And this means you are dispersing your link building efforts. For example, you have built 1,000 backlinks - out of these around 500 backlinks where built to domain with slash and around 500 to the domain without slash. And you are sitting and scratching your head “Why am I just position 10 on page 1 in Google?” It is highly possible that you are missing these extra 500 backlinks which have been “wasted” on a another version of your home page! What to Do? The solution depends upon every particular situation. If you just start link building and your site and no inlinks, then just make a choice of your own. “I will be building backlinks only to http://domain.com/ (with slash)” or “I will be building backlinks only to http://domain.com (without slash)” and STICK to your decision. Of course, you do not have control over all inlinks. Some people can link to your site, just because they decided to do that. And you cannot force them to do any changes - they can get irritated and kill your link. But in all link building which is under your control, for example the one which you are doing in Free Traffic System, STICK to your decision. If you are doing link building for a site that already has inlinks, then do a research of your incoming links and see what type of backlink is more common to point to your home page - with slash or without slash - then choose the type which prevails. For instance, you saw that you have 60 backlinks with slash and 14 without slash - then your choice should be for bulding backlinks with slash, as the bigger part of your backlink asset already has slashes. Off-page Search Engine Optimization (II)

In the preceding post, we discussed how getting high quality links from authoritative websites in your field will boost your search engine rankings. This time, we’re going to explore further into linking strategies, and how to determine and obtain brilliant links. We’re also going to talk briefly about Google’s PageRank.

Always have it at the back of your mind that everything you do to promote your site will help you make money with Google AdSens e which is a good enough motivation for doing them. First, let’s examine a regular link. It’s a piece of text or image, (but we’re going for text) that links to your blog, and some of the important factors are;

The address which it links to
The text of the link
The PageRank of the page on which the link resides

Let’s analyze this information one by one. First, you’d naturally want the link to link to your blog, but to which page of your blog? Is it to an individual post or to your blog’s home page? Since your blog is a constantly updated website, it is always wise to accumulate all the links to point to your main page instead if individual posts because they tend to be very time-sensitive.

Now let’s consider how the text of the link also affects your rankings for a certain keyword. Let’s say your blog is about how to make money with Google AdSense and another site has a link that says “Music Download” and links to your blog. Doesn’t make much sense, right? If a lot of links that link to your site contain the terms “make money” or “Google Adsense”, it will greatly boost your rankings for those keywords. Hence, it’s essential to put some thoughts when requesting links from other webmasters as you want them to link to your blog with appropriate keywords.

What about Google’s PageRank? It’s basically a scale set by Google to measure the popularity of websites. You can read more about it on http://www.google.com/technology/. What is interesting is that the higher the PageRank of a certain website, the more frequent Google’s robots will visit the website to index it.

Of course, the PageRank of a page will also help it to rank higher in Google’s search engine results. In short, having a high PageRank will bring you many benefits SEO-wise. Your blog will start with no PageRank (which is different from PageRank 0) because Google has not yet indexed your blog. Once Google’s robots find your blog through links on other sites, your blog will show a PageRank of 0 and depending on the PageRank of the referring page, your blog’s PageRank will also rise eventually. Off-page Search Engine Optimization (I)

In the last post we discussed how to optimize your blog to rank well for search results of certain keywords that you are targeting. But there is sad news; this will only help your ranking in only very minor ways. Nevertheless, DO NOT skip this step as every little bit is vital when you’re competing for search engine rankings!

Next is off-page Search Engine Optimization. That is, factors that are not on your blog but affect your search engine rankings very greatly. There are a lot of off-page factors, but we shall study them one by one. The first and most obvious one is the number of links to your blog. As a general rule of thumb, the more links to your blog, the more the search engines think you are an authority in that particular niche and hence the higher they rank you. You my read my previous post on traffic, The Second Law of Traffic; Spawn Backlinks for a similar post.

However, be cautious to observe the quality of the links. For example, a thousand links from totally irrelevant sites like online games sites would not help at all because your blog is about how to make money with Google AdSense. In contrast, a single link from a highly authoritative site about how to make money with Google Adsense will get the search engines crawling about your blog like the Feds storming a crack den… Anyway, the most cost effective way of getting high quality links from authoritative sites is simply to ask for it. If your blog contains high quality content that is original and will provide valuable information to the site’s readers, chances are the webmaster(s) will link to your blog or even write about you!

Let’s talk about how we should ask these webmasters of authority to link to your blog. We’re discussing this based on the presumption that your blog is really content rich and offer high quality information to anyone in your niche or topic of discussion. The most viable option would be to send an email directly to the webmaster.

Compose an email to the webmaster of relevant sites (whose email address you shall find on the site). Start by stating how you came across their site (i.e. “looking for how to make money with Google AdSense”, NOT “looking for link partners!”) and how you think their site provides valuable information. Essentially, try to say something really good about their site honestly.

Then, suggest that so-and-so content on your own blog will be a nice complement to their site’s content and vice versa. Put a link on your blog to their site and ask subtly if they might be able to do the same to weld a mutually beneficial relationship between the site and your blog. Along the way, you might find people who won’t even respond to your email, so forget about them and move on. Remove the links from your blog to their site if they have not responded to your email within two weeks, which is a pretty long wait. Do this the first 30 search results that pops up, and before long you should have quite a few good sites all linking to you.

I’ve always emphasized the importance of having great content. Your content should be a very interesting grapevine for the community of your chosen niche, and not a lifeless factsheet. However, no matter how mouth-watering your content is, if there is nobody to read it, it won’t make you a cent. Traffic is the heart of your blog especially if you really want to make money with Google AdSense. In order to attract people, you must simply offer attractive information. However, to get traffic onto your site, you have to think backwards. Where do people look when they need information? Of course they search using search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN, to name just a few popular ones.

So, to direct these people to your blog, your blog needs to rank high on search result pages of these search engines. When people search for information through the search engines and see your site among the top results, they will naturally click through to your blog! The art of getting your blog or website onto high rankings on search result pages is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

It could be quite a complex subject to master, but that doesn’t stop us from learning simple yet effective techniques to conquer the search results for certain keywords. More complex techniques are usually needed to fight for very competitive and general keywords such as “make money”, but I’ll teach you how to overcome that later. For now, let’s determine the keywords that you want to optimize your site for. For instance, your blog says make money. Now, you’d want to check in Google whether it is a very competitive keyword. As of now, there are 227,000,000 search results. Do you think you can beat 227,000,000 sites at your first attempt? I doubt it.

Now, let’s try to narrow down our scope. Let’s look for “Make Money with Google AdSense” instead. Right now Google lists 3,440,000 results. That’s more manageable, but you’d like to search for more focused keywords. However, let’s optimize your blog for Make Money with Google AdSense just for the sake of learning.

First, you have to pay attention to the title of your blog. Since you’re optimizing for Make Money with Google AdSense you need to have that exact phrase in your blog title. For example, a line like “Learn How to Make Money with Google AdSense!” would work fine.

You can change the title of your blog in the Blogger control panel or the Wordpress blog when you’re creating it. If you’re proficient with HTML, you can even do that on other blog engines like Moveable Type. What is the bottom line? Your page heading should also contain the term you’re optimizing for. Additionally, you should ‘sprinkle’ the words “Google AdSense” in your posts whenever possible.

The frequency of that phrase in your blog hints the search engines that your blog is really relevant to that topic. However, this is the most important bit of all. Always keep in mind that you’re writing for real life people who read your blog to obtain information, so it is very dumb to spam your blog with keywords! Strategically Positioning your AdSense Units for Utmost Profitability

To make money with Google AdSense, it is not just inserting AdSense units into your blog/site that is important, but strategically placing them for utmost profitability. The location of your AdSense determines whether or not it’ll be clicked on by your visitors. If it’s not clicked on, then it’s useless. But you must understand that people are not robots and hate to feel used. They won’t click on just any ad just anywhere!

You have to be pragmatic here. Ask yourself, “Will I click on this if I see it on someone else’s site?” If you won’t, why will they? The following tips will be helpful in coupling your AdSense into your site strategically for utmost profitability

1. From research, I’ve found that 336 X 280 Large Rectangle is the best paying ad of all. The best place for 336 X 280 Large Rectangle is at the top right corner of your blog for easy accessibility

2. Use relevant color palettes. Colors which blend into your content do better. This really helps to make money with Google AdSense since the ads simply looks like your regular text and not adverts

3. Strategically place ads in prominent places where it will be obvious and easily clicked by visitors on your site. One of the best of places is in-between your posts. Check out the article I published on how to insert AdSense units in-between your posts

4. Always make sure that the first ad unit is displayed in the best location on your site

5. It is also more advisable to pick the Text Only option instead of Text and Image option because the Text Only option does better in terms of ad performance than Text and Image option. However, the Text and Picture option adds some color and flavor to your blog sometimes. Of course, you will now have to decide your priority – picture or money

6. Be constructive. If you want to place an ad on the top of your page, immediately above the post for instance, a horizontal rectangle like the 728 X 90 Leaderboard format is most appropriate. If you want an ad on the side bar (right or left to your post – depending on your layout configuration), for instance, a 336 X 280 Large Rectangle and 160 X 600 Wide Skyscraper ads would be structurally perfect

If the question is, “Which one is better; Wordpress or Blogger?” the answer of course is obvious enough. But the question is, “Which one is better for Google AdSense; Wordpress or Blogger?” Agreeably, Wordpress has lots of facilities that are absent in Blogger, considering the fact it is newer; it could have been the better and preferred. But after thorough research, here are my conclusions regarding the two:

WORDPRESS

Easy setup, if you have decent computer knowledge
Massive amounts of different templates to choose from both on the site and elsewhere online – highly professional
Huge array of plug-ins for extra features to be added easily and for free
Site can be used with your own domain name
You can create categories, links and make it look like a regular website

BLOGGER

Extremely simple setup for complete novice to the Internet
Has comments with minor moderation
Ability to email to make new posts
Storage of pictures instead of just linking to them
Looks like a typical blog
Blogger is owned by Google

Hence my sentiment; since Blogger is actually OWNED by Google Inc., it naturally does better with Google AdSense because it is easily detected on Google’s radar faster and will be indexed faster. Simply put, Google has a quick eye for Blogger.

Conclusively, if making money with Google AdSense is of huge importance to you, I strongly recommend Blogger for you. However, if making money with Google AdSense is not vitally significant to you, you may then consider the newer and of course, the better Wordpress. It’s simply a question of priority. Choosing to make blogging your career because you want to escape a mundane job – forcing yourself to write about something that you’re not interested in is as torturous as the mundane job you are running away from! To blog successfully and make money with Google AdSense, you have to

Find your niche. The very first option that I think a blogger should write on is a topic that he/she feels passionate about and interested in. In order not to run out of inspiration for worthwhile content, you must locate an area of strength, expertise or interest to write about. Your readers must find your posts interesting, educative or entertaining enough. I mean, you have to give them a good enough reason to want to read your next post. If you love sports, for example, you may decide to write about that. The other reason I recommend that you write about something you’re passionate about is because your feelings and emotion shows through your writings! If you feel indifferent to a certain subject but still write about it just for the sake of it, your readers will notice it.
Be consistent. If people visit your blog thrice or more without seeing any new thing, they’ll naturally get the impression that you’re not really serious. After all, they get fresh information from other related blogs. So why will they stick to you? It is ideal to place at least a post on your blog twice or more weekly and put something there every other day – if not a comment, and then maybe something related that you read in the news.
Be focused. Write on unique, relevant and helpful topics. Your content should not be too short and not too long. Between 300 and 400 words will do for a post. Don’t make your readers bored. Avoid spelling errors. Be precise and straight to the point. Be interesting.
Be responsive. When someone drops a comment on your post, please respond. People like to be responded to and related with, especially when they are interested in what you do. It gives the impression that you care about their opinions. After all, the blog is created for them. Isn’t it?
Don’t violate copyright laws. Do not copy and past other people’s contents on your blog. It is wildly wrong and must be avoided. Take your time to write your own unique articles. This makes you original and gives your reader the right impression that you know what you’re doing. Come to think of it, how would you feel, if you come to my blog to find a post you placed on your site sometimes ago on it and credited to me?
