The Greetery {Fête and Fiesta Collection} Day 1

Hello and welcome! I'm thrilled and honored to be here today sharing projects made with the new collection from The Greetery and helping to celebrate the SEVENTH birthday!!! How could it possibly be the 7th birthday? Time flies when you're creating with beautiful and inspired products! My first project for today is an A2 Arch Box all decked out with the new Market Place Celebration Street Die and coordinating stamp set! I'm in love with all of the new shop names and can't wait to use more of them! I chose to make the Good Thymes Garden Center and pack it with some herb seed packets to give as a gift!

On the side here, you will see one of the smaller buildings that feature the new Arch Box Mini Die. This die is perfect for the small building from the Market Place Mini Die and of course, for all sorts of other things!

I cut this building from Lilac Grace cardstock using the Market Place No. 3 Die. The side pieces, window frames, and top portion are cut from Spring Moss cardstock and glued using liquid glue. I cut the arch box from the same Lilac cardstock. I always like to cut the window openings as well, so I made sure to do that before assembling.

As I mentioned earlier, the shop name is from the new Market Place Celebration Street Stamp Set and is heat embossed in detail white powder on Olive Twist cardstock and then popped up with pieces of foam tape.

The bunting, flower boxes, flowers, foliage and bike are all from the new Market Place Celebration Street Die....I can't get over the bike! So cute! I cut it from gold cardstock and black and then used mini brads to put it together. The smallest window basket/box is the perfect size to use as a basket on the bike!

The gold under the half circle detail on the windows is cut from the same gold cardstock along with the bows holding the bunting up at the top. I added stickles to the flowers for some extra sparkle and shine!

All of the pieces for the baskets, flowers, leaves are cut from white and then I just colored them with blender brushes and dye ink. The flowers are colored with markers so I could add a variety of colors. This mini building is cut from Ocean Tides cardstock, Pale Peony window shutters, and cream colored window frames. I added a coordinating sentiment using the Simple Spring Mini Sentiment Stamp Set. It's heat embossed with gold powder onto a strip of Pale Peony cardstock and then added with foam squares.

If you know me, there was no way I could just stop with one, so I got to work making the "Sprinkles Bakeshop"! I absolutely adore all of the shop names and can't wait to try doing the same thing I did with my Valentine's Day Boxes; I had fun creating coordinating gifts or things to tuck inside depending on the shop name!

For this shop, I bought a few bottles of cute sprinkles to tuck inside. It would be so cute to add with a cake mix or something like that for any type of celebration!

This box is cut from Hibiscus Burst cardstock with Melon Berry window frames and Aqua Sky (C&9th) shutters. The bunting and shop name are cut from Pale Peony cardstock. The balloon strings are cut from gold cardstock and then the balloons are cut from white and then colored with blender brushes and dye ink. I added stickles to the balloons for festive shine!

I kept this building free of anything that would place is solely in the birthday category, but rather just celebratory!

It would be cute to add a gift card to a local bakery as well! The possibilities are endless with these cute shops!

My next project uses the AMAZING and FABULOUS new Pretty Picado suite of products! I kept telling myself it would take a lifetime to exhaust all of the creative possibilities with all of the beautiful new products! That being said, I did my best to try and showcase each (almost) of the new products.

To begin, I used the beautiful new Pretty Picado Stencil Collection to create a colorful panel. I ended up cutting it so I could use it on two different cards, which I will share next! I used the center portion that was cut using the Capsule Basics Die as the focal point for this card. Please note, there is a spot for you to add the accent sentiment, like I did here with "For You". I stamped it black using the new Pretty Picado Sentiment Stamp Set. I used the Pretty Picado Sentiments Die and then stamped the "HAPPY" with an ombre look. I added it using bits of foam tape for dimension.

I used the Pretty Picado Die to cut the teal layer that the stenciled portion is inside. As I'm typing this, I realize I forgot to pop out one of the tiny holes (woops!). I cut it first using the Capsule Fixed Borders Small and then added the detail with the Pretty Picado Die. I layered it over another capsule shape cut from white to showcase the pretty detail.

The next layer is two of the new Pretty Picado Banners Die and then placed straight edge to straight edge. There are two different banners included in the set and I will be showcasing the other one on my next card.

I cut the coral frame using the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die and then embossed it with the new Pretty Picado Embossing Folder. I rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the top to add the white to the raised portions.

The base is the same Aqua Sky color I used on the bakeshop and is cut with the Capsule Basics Die (linked above) and then embossed with the Capsule Basics Embossing Folder.

This card uses the outer portion of the stenciled panel with some of the other products I didn't use on the first card. To begin, I stamped a large panel using the new Pretty Picado Background Stamp. You can see it in the center of the card and on the corners.

As I mentioned before, this card also showcases the second banner included in the set. It also uses the flowers that are included in the sentiment set and are cut using the Pretty Picado Blooms Die. This is one die I didn't get a chance to explore as much as I hoped, but I can't wait to experiment with it!

Project Inspiration {All Kinds of Wonderful}

Hello friends! It's my turn for the Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink! I will be sharing step-by-step photos and instructions on how I put this card together!

It combines so many of my favorite things: foiling, glitter, flowers, and a butterfly!

Step 1: Hot foil a panel of Mint Julep cardstock using the Regal Flourish Frame Hot Foil Plate and turquoise foil. Add some Mint Julep ink around the corners.

Step 2: Adhere the foiled panel to a 4 by 5 1/4 inch piece of Tropical Teal cardstock. Mount it to a top-folding A2 card base using foam squares.

Step 3: Cut the middle-sized mat using the Love to Layer: Top Notch Die from white cardstock. Attach it to the background using foam squares.

Step 4: Cut the butterfly pieces using the Build-a-Butterfly Die. Add the stenciling using the coordinating stencil collection and Mint Julep ink.

Step 5: Cut the flowers from white cardstock using the Into the Blooms: Bag of Blossoms Die and the Build-a-Bouquet Die. Add color with dye ink and blender brushes. Attach to the butterfly.

Step 6: add the leaves.

Step 7: Cut the sentiment using the The Sweetest Bunch Die and stamp it in black using the The Sweetest Bunch Stamp Set. Attach it to the top of the card with foam squares.

Step 8: Add glitter and a trio of sparkling clear sequins.

The foiling reminds me of butterfly wings, so that is why I chose this particular plate.

You Color My World {Shades of Blue}

It's Teacher Appreciation Week and for day 1, they wanted the kids to dress up in their teacher's favorite color. My son's teacher's favorite color is blue, so I decided to whip up a fun card and tag to go along with a blue-themed gift as well. They had the teachers list some of their favorite things so luckily some of those things came in blue packages.

To begin, I created the shaped card using the Paint Your World Die collection from Spellbinders. It appears to be retired, unfortunately, but I wanted to share my project here anyway and maybe it will spark some ideas with products you already own! I cut the paint palette twice; once from white cardstock and once from Fine Linen to offset it a bit for added detail and depth.

Next, I added some ink to a scrap of white cardstock in a few different shades of blue and then cut it out using the Simon Says Stamp Fancy Teacher Die. I cut the shadow from vellum and then glued it together. I temporarily positioned it where I would place it so I could do the stamping. I chose the "thanks for coloring in my world" sentiment and I love how it fits in the curves of the teacher word so nicely. I used clear foam squares to attach the teacher word and then got to to work on the paint tube and brush.

I cut the main portions of the tube from Spring Rain cardstock and then added some ink around the edges to give it extra color and depth. The metallic bits are cut using silver cardstock and everything is attached with liquid glue. Back when I got these dies, I bought the entire collection, so one of the die sets had the flowers and leaves so I added those to the paint tube as well.

The paint brush is cut from Fine Linen, silver cardstock, and white with ink blending at the tip to mimic paint. I attached everything with foam squares. I wanted to add all of the main larger elements so I would know how much "paint" spots to add. I colored them with different shades of blue and then popped them up with foam squares. A bit of ink splatter finishes it off and then I added it to the shaped base using liquid glue.

I created a quick tag with some of the same elements to attach to the bow on the gift.

I added Stickles to the paint and flowers for some sparkle! Thanks for fluttering by!

You're Not Old, You're Well-Seasoned

Hello friends! My daughter and I were strolling (or more like scrolling) down memory lane looking at some of my old SugarPea Designs cards. She fell in love with THIS card and wanted me to recreate it for her boyfriend's birthday! Wellllll......sometimes we misplace certain retired stamp sets and can't find them, SOOOOOO.....plan B! She still wanted a BBQ/Steak theme since her boyfriends loves steak. I ended up using another retired set, but she loved how it turned out and she said her boyfriend loved it, too!

To begin, I found the retired Dad Jokes: High Steaks Stamp Set in my retired box (see, sometimes I know what I'm doing...ha ha!] and got to work selecting the images that would work for this birthday card. The Dad Jokes: High Steaks Die is still available and I used that to cut the knife and steak.

I used the Char-cut-erie Board Die to anchor the steak and knife along with some fresh "seasoning" using the Rosemary and Berry Die! I just love how it livens up this design! I stamped the sentiments directly on the board using walnut stain distress oxide ink and then mounted it on a black card base that was foiled using the new Regal Flourish Frame Hot Foil Plate. I made this card before this foil background was available for purchase, so I thought I better wait to show it until it was ready! ha ha!

When this steak set was released, I HAD to get some of the glitter "seasoning" that Betsy had used on her samples, but bnt now I can't remember where I got it; I think the brand is Elements. I just love how it ties the "well-seasoned" theme in so well.

It was fun to create this card for my daughter; her and her boyfriend liked it, so win-win! Now......to go on the hunt for my retired SugarPea sets............

The Greetery {Happy Mother's Day}

Hello friends! I'm over on The Greetery blog sharing a fun project for Mother’s Day! When the Silly Goose suite of products was introduced in March, I was telling my mom how much fun I was having with the geese and reminiscing about my childhood! I thought it would be fun to make a goose card just for her to give to her on Mother’s Day this year!

To begin, I created the gate because I wanted to make sure I chose the correct size frame/embossing folders, etc. to house the dimensions of the gate. I cut it twice using the Garden Gateway Die from Kraft Gray cardstock. I glued the two pieces together for a nice, sturdy piece and then added a bit of walnut stain distress oxide ink shading for added dimension and depth. The hinges and handle are cut from black cardstock and attached to the gate using liquid glue.

The next step was to get the stenciling done on the background panel. I cut a piece of white cardstock using the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Die and while I had everything at my fingertips, I created the card base using the same die. I like to use my MISTI for stencils so I can butt them up against the straight sides for a perfect matchup with each of the steps. Once the stenciling was done, I got to work on the goose.

I cut her from white cardstock using the Silly Goose Die and then added yellow/orange ink to the feet and beak. I glued them on using liquid glue and attached the wing using a foam square. The hat was colored with shades of blue and coral flowers attached to the ribbon. I fiddled with the hat until I was satisfied with the arrangement and then added a piece of clear tape to the back to secure it in place.

Once that was done, I got to work on the frame. I cut it from white woodgrain cardstock using the same Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Die making sure to cut the middle part as well. Once that was done, I used the coordinating Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts 3D Embossing Folder to add the details. I added some old paper and walnut stain distress oxide ink around the edges and on the inside of the scalloped opening. I layered it onto the stenciled panel using foam squares for dimension. The gate was also attached with foam squares along with Mrs. Goose!

I wanted some additional flower and foliage so I used the Bigger Botanicals: Oregano and Bigger Botanicals: Hawthorn Die to enhance the design. I pulled them apart and used them in the way that looked best with the gate rather than keeping each cluster together. The finishing touch is a sentiment that is cut using the Silly Goose Sentiments Die and then stamped in black using the Silly Goose Sentiments Stamp Set. This was such a fun card to create and I hope my mom likes it! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink April Release Countdown Day 4

Wow! What a whirlwind it's been; we've made it to the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink April release countdown! As I mentioned yesterday, I have quite a bit to share with you again today! Up first is a card using some of my favorites from the new release and then the last 3 cards use a beautiful new sympathy set called Peaceful Meadow. I did use the leaf image from that set for the background on this first card.

To begin, I cut a 4 by 5 1/4 inch panel of white cardstock and then stamped the leaf image on two corner using Spring Rain ink. I didn't move the stamp, but rather just rotated the panel so that it would be the same for each corner. Once that was done, I added the hot foil design using the Filigree Frame Hot Foil Plate and champagne foil to the stamped panel.

I cut the middle-sized mat that's included in the Love to Layer: Top Notch Die from Spring Rain cardstock and attached it to the center of the foiled frame. I also cut the smallest mat from the same set and stamped the sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: You're on My Mind Mini Stamp Set in black.

I created the Blueberry Sky banner piece using the Hold That Thought Die. I cut one of the pieces twice and then trimmed it and mounted them underneath the white portion to hide the cut seam.

I can't get enough of the Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die, so I used it for the flowers and foliage.

I sprinkled some glitter on the flowers and leaves for sparkle and shine.

I added some pearls to the four corners of the foiled design and then mounted the entire background on an A2-sized Spring Rain panel. I glued it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.

For my next three cards, I'll be showing three different ways to use the new Peaceful Meadow Stamp Set. When I first saw it, I wondered if I would really be able to create anything other than the prescribed way of using this set, but much to my pleasant surprise, this set has become a favorite and I really love all of the delicate pieces that can be used in so many different ways!

My goal was to use each of the three included sentiments on each of the three cards. For this first card, I paired the "remembering" sentiment, which is included in the set, with the Strength sentiment that was featured on day 1.

I used the new Regal Flourish Frame (yes, again) on a panel of Lilac Grace cardstock using champagne foil. I trimmed it down and then mounted it onto an A2-sized panel of white cardstock that has been cut using the Nesting Basics: Pierced Rectangles Die.

The die set comes with the option to combine the branches and leaves together one one die OR there's the option to cut the leaves or flowers separately and then add them to the branch image. I decided to omit the branches altogether on this card and just lay the leaves over the top for a delicate look.

I cut the flowers separately from the stems and then glued them together. This is the same thing you could do with the leaves and branches, but as I mentioned earlier, I chose to just use the leaves.

The stamp set comes with six different birds and I chose to use these two to perch in the leaves. I did add some black marker to create eyes, but in retrospect, I'm not sure if I like it!

I probably should have shared this card earlier, but this is more of the prescribed way for using the set. This shows the branches and leaves/flowers and stems put together on their singular die cut. I wanted something springy, so I chose to make leaves that look like blossoms.

This card features the second sentiment included in the set, which is a nice sized "With Sympathy" stamp.

For the background, I used the stencils included in the Elegant Notes Stationery Kit; blue to mimic the sky and green at the bottom to mimic grass.

This will be a perfect CAS sympathy card for mailing!

I went for a rustic look for my next card using just the leaves on the corners again, but this time stamped in green! I love all of the versatility I was able to achieve with this stamp set!

The flowers are from the new Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die and the wood slices are from the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood. I cut the middle portion from Fine Linen cardstock and the outer portion from white and then colored it with Walnut Stain distress oxide ink.

This is the third sentiment included in the set; I love that they each have a coordinating die! It really makes the design options easier!

Papertrey Ink April Release Countdown Day 3

I can't believe we're halfway through the Papertrey Ink April release countdown! It's been a whirlwind and I hope you're loving this beautiful new release! I have quite a bit to share with you today using the gorgeous new Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die and I can't seem to stop with the Regal Flourish Hot Foil Plate or the ladybugs and bees; I knew they were going to be fast-favorites!

To begin, I added the foiling to a panel of Vintage Cream cardstock with champagne foil. I love this foil the most because it's gold, but not super yellow! I used the smallest die included in the new Reflections: Exodus 14 Die and anchored it in the middle of the foiled design using foam squares.

I cut all of the flowers and leaves from white cardstock and then colored them with blender brushes. I glued them together with foam squares and liquid glue. I die cut the small and medium-sized ladybugs from black cardstock (legs, body, and spots) and the outer shell from white and then colored it with Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel ink. I added some yellow ink to a scrap of cardstock and then die cut the yellow portions for the side of the head. I glued them together and then gave them, and the flowers and leaves, a spritz or two of fossilized amber distress oxide spray.

I arranged the flowers and leaves and then placed the ladybugs. The sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Bloom Mini Stamp Set, is stamped in black onto a mat cut using the Just Tags Die. I added it to the bottom right corner using foam squares and then added some sequins and gems.

If you look closely, you can see that I added the gems over the top of the larger sequins for something different. I seem to get stuck in ruts and so this was a fun alternative to some of my ruttish behavior! ha ha! I added glitter to the leaves and flowers for additional sparkle and shine!

I layered the foiled panel to an A2-sized piece of Pure Poppy cardstock using foam squares and then attached it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.

My next card features the new Reflections: Exodus 14 Stamp Set, Die, and Outline Die paired with the Pressed Flowers. Of course the foiling and bee had to make an appearance as well!

I heat embossed the scripture verse in gold and then cut it out using the ouline die. The two Spring Moss mats are cut from both sizes included in the Reflections: Exodus 14 Die and are layered together for depth. The flowers and leaves are colored the same as the previous card, along with the bee.

The largest mat fits nicely in the foiling, which I'm so excited about! I can't seem to stop with this combination!

My next card was inspired by a bouquet of real pressed flowers in an antique frame. I chose a few of the flowers included in the set and then a few stems to attach them to. You really can have fun mixing and matching things to suit your needs!

I cut the flowers from white and then colored them with ink and blender brushes. I spritzed everything with fossilized amber distress oxide spray for added detail.

The largest die included in the new Reflections: Exodus 14 is the perfect size and shape to mimic the look of the antique frame the flowers were in. I cut it from Antique Gold cardstock and then added the black oval in the middle using foam squares. It is cut using the middle-sized die included in the Love to Layer: Ovals Die and then I added the flowers using liquid glue and foam squares.

I foiled a large A7 sized panel of Spring Rain cardstock using the new Regal Flourish Frame Hot Foil Plate and champagne foil. I trimmed it down to fit under the FRAME that was cut from woodgrain cardstock. I glued everything together and added it to an A7 sized card base using liquid glue.

I heat embossed the sentiment, which if from the Just Sentiments: Belated Birthday Mini Stamp Set, onto a strip of black cardstock using gold powder.

The new foil plate and flowers are some of my absolute favorites from this release!

I've got another A7 sized card to finish off today's post! I really wanted to create these tiny floral vignettes and this size worked well to execute the design.

The mat on the bottom left side is from the new Love to Layer: Top Notch Die, the other pink one is from the Just Tags Die, and the other two are from the Oval set I linked for the previous card.

I cut the sentiment using the This is Big Sentiments: Strength and then stamped it in black. The companion sentiment is heat embossed with white detail powder.

I layered the different clusters using liquid glue and foam squares. Black ink splatter and sequins finish off this floral design! Join me tomorrow for the 4th and final day of the countdown; I have quite a bit to share tomorrow, too! Thanks for fluttering by!

Project Inspiration {Class of 2026}

Hello friends! I'm popping in today with a second post to share the card I made for this weekend's Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink! Graduation is definitely on the horizon and will be here before we know it! I have a few cards leftover from last year, but I found out about an exciting graduation happening in a few weeks, so I wanted to make one just for the occasion!

Rather than use school colors, I decided to go full-out feminine and fun for this one and I love how it turned out!

I'll share step-by-step photos and instructions on how I made this card!

Step 1: Foil an A2 panel of True Black cardstock using the Fresh Greens Hot Foil Plate and champagne foil. Trim it down closely around the tips of the foiled leaves. Mount it to a top-folding A2 Vintage Cream card base using foam squares.

Step 2: Cut the frame from Ocean Tides cardstock using the Framed in Success Die and attach it to the base using foam squares.

Step 3: Stamp the sentiment in black using the Framed in Success Stamp Set. Cut the books from white and then add Harvest Gold, Pale Peony, and Ocean Tides ink over the top. Stamp the book titles in pigment gold ink. Attach them to the frame with small strips of foam tape.

Step 4: Cut the flowers and leaves from white using the Into the Blooms: Anemones Die. Color the with ink and blender brushes. Cut the cap using the same die as the books and frame. Attach them to the frame.

Step 5: Cut the banner using the Hold That Thought Die. Heat emboss the sentiment and then glue the glitter numbers using liquid glue. Attach it with foam squares.

Step 6: Add glitter and die cut stars to finish off the design!

I realized later I stamped the book titles upside down, BUT in Sweden and the Netherlands, this is how they are printed, so I'm just going with it! ha ha!

I always love the gold cardstock for the center of the flowers!

Papertrey Ink April Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink April Release Countdown! There are some fun things for dads being featured today along with a beautiful new stencil! My first card for today uses the new Dad Die, Build-a-Briefcase Die, and some older favorites to pull this design together!

To begin this card, I got to work on the briefcase; it reminded me of my childhood playing with Barbies and this would have been so cute as an accessory! ha ha! I cut the main case from Honey Nut cardstock with Honey Nut ink blended on the edges. I cut the straps from Dark Chocolate and the hardware from gold cardstock! I assembled the briefcase using foam squares and liquid glue.

Up next, I got to to work on the Dad sentiments; this was achieved by using BOTH dies included in the set. There is a solid word die that I used as the shadow, cut from Dark Chocolate. Then I picked some fun colors of cardstock and used the second die included in the set to create the stripes. You could cut it from white and then just color all of the pieces as you choose. I cut another solid word from Ocean Tides and then glued the stripes using liquid glue.

I wanted to play with the briefcase theme and pull in some office supply detailing. The paper clip at the top is cut from gold and is from the Just Notes Die along with the torn notepad piece that says "for my". That sentiment along with the embossed sentiment at the bottom are both from the Just Sentiments: Father's Day Mini Stamp Set.

For the background, I used the largest die included in the Love to Layer: Deckled Edge Die and cut a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock. I added some Dark Chocolate ink around the edges along with some ink splatter. I cut the middle-sized frame using the Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame from Vintage Cream also and then glued it to the deckled panel using liquid glue.

Once that was done, I added the briefcase and Dad sentiment using foam squares. I placed it at an angle on an A2-sized panel of Olive Twist cardstock and then glued it to a top-folding A2 card base.

My next card is a quick bonus card that I made using the new All About Dad stamp set paired with the new Brushstrokes Stencil Collection. I love the bold sentiments included in the set; they would be perfect to use for mass-producing cards!

My final card for today showcases the sentiment set that was featured yesterday: This is Big Sentiments: Strength along with some leftover flowers and foliage from that card. I paired them with the beautiful new Birch Grove Stencil Collection.

The mat behind the sentiment is from the new Reflections die set being released, but it won't be featured until tomorrow!

Most of the detailing at the bottom of the stenciled panel got covered up, but I did add some additional foliage using the Stems and Blooms Stencil Collection.

I used the bold Strength stamp yesterday, but wanted to show you the other option included in the set.

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the April release countdown for Papertrey Ink! There are some really fun new products that might be able to fill in some gaps your collection might need! For me, I have really been wanting some larger bees to go with some of the larger flowers and my wish has come true! Not only that, but there is also an adorable new Build-a-Ladybug Die as well! Both new die sets come with three different sizes of bees or ladybugs!

My first card for today features the new This is Big Sentiments: Strength Stamp/Die set and the new new Build-a-Ladybug Die. It also showcases the lovely new Love to Layer: Top Notch Die set and a beautiful new hot foil plate!

To begin, I die cut all of the flowers and foliage using the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die and then colored them with dye inks and blender brushes. I also added some fossilized amber distress oxide spray and set them aside to dry.

I used the new hot foil plate with champagne foil onto a panel of Pale Peony cardstock. I added some Hibiscus Burst ink around the edges and trimmed it down just around the edges of the foiled design. I layered that onto a top-folding card base that is cut using the Nesting Basics: Pierced Rectangles Die.

I die cut the middle-sized layer included in the Love to Layer: Top Notch Die from white cardstock and then added it to the Peony layer using foam squares. I added the sentiments; one stamped in black and the companion sentiment is heat embossed in gold.

I arranged the flowers and ladybug using foam squares and liquid glue until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I added glitter to the flowers and foliage for sparkle and shine!

My second card for today features the new Build-a-Bumblebee Die and the new Wildflower Frame Stamp/Die set!

To begin, I die cut the frame using the Wildflower Frame Die and then stamped it with Vintage Photo distress ink. Once that was done, I colored the image using OLO markers and other alcohol markers in my collection. I also added some white acrylic pen details and some brown marker splatter for an aged, vintage look. I cut the frame out one more time and glued the two together for a sturdy piece.

Once that was done, I got to work on the bees; I chose to use the middle and smallest sized bees for my card. There is another large bee and some legs to add to the bees if desired. I cut the body from Dark Chocolate cardstock and then added some True Black ink around the perimeter. The stripes and wings are cut from white cardstock; I added Harvest Gold ink to the stripes and Spring Rain ink lightly to the wings. I had a bit of fun adding some yellow flocking powder to the stripes for a fuzzy, realistic texture. I adhered the wings using small pieces of adhesive foam.

The sentiment is also from the Wildflower Frame stamp set and is cut using the coordinating die. I layered it onto the smallest die included in the new Love to Layer die set.

For the background, I used the Cover Plate: Honeycomb Die and added some vintage photo distress ink splatter lightly over the top. I layered the entire panel onto a top-folding A2 white card base using foam squares. I added a few sequins for sparkle and shine!

The Greetery {Every Ending is a New Beginning}

Hello and welcome friends! I'm over on The Greetery Blog today, but I also wanted to share my card here! My project for today is one of those bittersweet cards to make and need. Saying goodbye can be hard, but making a going-away card with thought and intent can ease the pain, somehow. I’ve carefully selected colors and patterns specifically with the recipient in mind, which is always an enjoyable part of the creative process.

To begin, I created the woodgrain frame combo that Betsy has successfully made us all fall in love with! Haha! When I want my design to feel special and elevated, I turn to this idea, especially when it fits the theme and look I’m going for, which in this case, was PERFECT! I used the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake Die with woodgrain cardstock and then finished it off with the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake Embossing Folder.

This particular woodgrain cardstock is dark, but I wanted it even darker so I used walnut stain distress oxide ink and a finger dauber to really give it a rich look. I repeated step 1, but on the next layer, I used the Capsule Basics Die to cut the capsule shape from the middle and then embossed it with the Rosemal Reflections Embossing Folder. I sponged the same ink over the top for continuity. I was tempted to try the Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder on this one, but in the end opted not to. I think I might give it a try this spring with the white woodgrain cardstock and see if I like that!

Once the two frames were done, I created the card base from Kraft cardstock and then layered the frames over the top using liquid glue for the bottom frame and foam squares for the top frame. I cut the middle capsule portion using the Capsule Basics Die from cream colored cardstock. I added some blue ink blending and ink splatter to the center to create depth and shadow behind the focal piece. I also added a filigree frame that is cut from Antique Gold and glued it over the top using liquid glue.

Once the base was all ready to go, I got to work on the focal point. I used the Wild Wetlands Die and added ink to all of the various pieces to achieve the look I was going for. I followed the assembly instruction on the back (believe me, these are important for this die ;)). I cut the base layer twice and glued them together for a nice sturdy piece. Once it was all glued and assembled, I tucked it slightly behind the top frame and secured it with foam squares for added dimension.

I found the perfect sentiment for this card in the New Day Sentiments Stamp Set. I heat embossed the one I chose in gold and then cut it out using the coordinating New Day Sentiments Die I added it to the bottom of the frame using foam squares. At this point, I could have called it done, but I was hoping for additional special details, so I cut some gold accents using the Hang It Up Die and secured them with foam squares. A sprinkling of glitter finishes off this design! As sad as it is to see my friend go, I’m happy I can give her a special card to let her know how much I love and appreciate her! Project Inspiration {Sending Love and Hugs}

Hello and welcome! Things have been a bit quiet over here as we've been celebrating and basking in the joy of Easter! It's good to be back with a card today for this weekend's Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink.

As I was searching through my stand-alone die storage, I ran across this pretty frame that I haven't used in ages, so that was the starting point for today's card, along with some vintage fabric that inspired the colors!

Follow along with me as I explain how this card came together in six easy steps!

Step 1: Cut an A2 panel of white cardstock and add the pierced detail using the Cover Plate: Quilted Die. Attach it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. Cut the frame from white using the Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame. Attach it to the background panel using 1/8 inch ScorTape.

Step 2: Cut the frame twice from white cardstock using the Extravagant Floral Frames Die and glue them together. Add some ink blending using dye inks and blender brushes. Attach it to the background panel using foam squares for dimension.

Step 3: Cut the middle-sized oval from the Love to Layer: Ovals Die and attach it using foam squares.

Step 4: Cut all of the flowers and foliage using both the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die and the Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die. Color them with dye inks and blender brushes. Assemble them with liquid glue and foam squares.

Step 5: Add the tiny flowers (included in the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die-linked above) to the vines using liquid glue.

Step 6: Add the sentiments; the "sending" portion of the sentiment is cut using the Lots of Hugs Die and stamped in Pure Poppy using the Lot of Hugs Stamp Set. The remaining sentiments are from the This is Big Sentiments: Love Stamp Set. I attached them with foam squares.

I forgot to add the glitter in the last step-by-step photo, but you can see the glitter on the flowers and foliage in this photo.

As you probably already know, I'm a big fan of the florals in the Wild Wood Die set and I've explained how I assemble the tiny flowers before, but if you've missed it, I'll explain again. I used to cut them all from white and then try and add the color to those tiny pieces, but now I color a small section of a scrap piece of white cardstock with a blender brush and then die cut both the flowers and centers (two separate colors, of course). I add a cupped shape to the flowers by using the smaller end of my stylus on a foam mat and then add some adhesive using the fine-tip 2-way glue pen. From there, I use a gem picker to grab the centers and carefully layer them in the center on the pool of liquid glue. I also add them to my projects with the gem picker so I don't have to handle them very much.

Your eyes are not deceiving you; I did add the two extra leaves to the floral cluster for balance and added harmony. If felt too naked without them....haha!

I'm happy with how this card turned out and it will be perfect for all kinds of occasions; thinking of you, sympathy, encouragement, etc.

Easter Tweets & Sweets Tags

I finally got my computer back so I'm able to post these tags I made earlier this week! I was in need of a few to attach to Easter gifts I've been preparing. The gifts I was putting together included the little baskets I made for the Spring Jardin release, so I wanted to keep the tags cohesive with that feel.

I made four in total, so I cut the base of each egg using the Golden Egg Die from white cardstock and then used dye inks and blender brushes to add the color. I made a yellow, pink, aqua, and purple egg and then added coordinating ink splatter to each one. Once that was done, I cut the gold border using the Golden Egg Filigree Border from bright gold cardstock. I used liquid glue to adhere it to the eggs and set them aside to dry.

I had two flower clusters already made because they were leftovers from the release, so I created two more using the Bigger Botanicals: Jacob's Ladder Die and the Bigger Botanicals: Cress Die. I cut everything from white cardstock and then colored them with dye inks and blender brushes. I added some adhesive pearls to the center of the blue flowers. The two clusters that were already created have some fossilized amber distress oxide spray, so you might notice that as well.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto four strips of coordinating cardstock using the Simple Spring Mini Sentiments Stamp Set and then attached them over the eggs and floral clusters using foam squares.

The base of each tag is one of the dies included in the Golden Egg Die and is cut from my favorite spring pattern paper: Spring Pastels, but unfortunately it is retired. There will come a time when I have used it all and I will be so sad!

I added an eyelet to the top of each tag so the paper wouldn't tear when I added the gold cord.

Before I attached the eggs to the front of the tags, I used the same sentiment stamp set to stamp a "to: from:" sentiment along with another one included in the set for added Easter wishes! I've already delivered the gifts these are attached to and they looked so cute! I wish I would have made more! ha ha! 18 Carrot Friendship {Happy Easter}

I can't believe Easter is on Sunday! It feels like it has arrived so quickly this year! I couldn't let the special day go by without creating a card with this absolutely DARLING stamp set from Pink and Main. This is one of those must-have stamp sets for me and I bought it back in January when it came out and FINALLY took the time to create with it! I adore the sweet bunnies and chicks and I have really missed coloring!

To begin, I used the 18 Carrot Friendship Die to cut all of the pieces out. I cut a few extra eggs so I could use them as fillers if needed. Once that was done, I used the 18 Carrot Friendship Stamp Set to stamp the images in black. I had to run some errands, so I just left them to dry because I absolutely hate when I go to color the images and the black ink smears! Ugh!

When I got home, I colored the images using OLO Markers, along with a few Copic and Prismacolor markers to blend colors. I also have a cheap Caliart set that I used as well. I have found that the key with the cheap sets is to make a color chart (or fill in the one that comes with it) because the caps never show the true color. I only have a few sets of the OLO markers, so the extra colors come in handy to provide shading if need be.

It was so fun and therapeutic to color and I really need to do it more often. My daughter asked me the other day which companies I used to make critter cards for and I told her neither company is currently making stamps, but I really need to create with them more often because they're so cute and I miss coloring!

I added some white pen detailing, glitter, and a touch of gold on the pink egg with polka dots.

I kept things simple and just added the images to one of the beautiful mats that you can create using the Eyelet Layer Frames. I cut it from white and then added some Seafoam Ink and splatter to the center of the mat using a blender brush and paint brush. I set the scene and then committed using foam squares. I layered it up onto a panel of Pale Peony cardstock and a white card base.

I had a few images left over so I added them to the inside along with another sentiment. I am seriously perplexed because by the time I was finished with the majority of the card, my stamp set up and vanishes so I couldn't use one of the included sentiments. I opted to use the Simple Spring Mini Sentiments Stamp Set for the sentiment on the front and this one on the inside.

I had so much fun creating this card and while I normally like to make religious Easter cards, this one was such a joy and a delight! Thanks for fluttering by!

Project Inspiration {He Is Risen}

It's my turn for this weekend's Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink! I thought I'd sneak in one more Easter card before the big day, but that actually isn't true, because I sat down yesterday to make ANOTHER! haha! Easter and spring are so special and wonderful so it's hard not to keep creating!

This card uses a good mix of old and new stamps and dies, but I love how it turned out!

Follow along with me as I show you how to create this card in six easy steps!

Step 1: Foil a panel of white cardstock using the Framed in Flowers Hot Foil Plate with silver foil. Cut it out using the Rounded Rectangles: Pierced Die. It is the perfect size to cut around the foiling. Add some ink blending to the panel using Lilac Grace, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, Pale Peony, and Berry Sorbet ink.

Step 2: Cut the window using the Stained Glass Window Die three times and glue them together. I used woodgrain cardstock for the top layer for added detail. Glue it to the foiled panel using liquid glue.

Step 3: Heat emboss the sentiment in silver using the Just Sentiments: Easter Mini Stamp Set on a strip of vellum and secure it to the back of the panel using clear tape or the adhesive of your choice.

Step 4: Cut the flowers and foliage using the Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die and the Simply Birds Die from white cardstock. Color them with dye inks and blender brushes. Arrange them around the window and add glitter.

Step 5: Cut the cross three times from Kraft cardstock using the The Bigs Easter Sentiments Die and glue them together. Stamp the cross image on the top one (before you glue them together) using the The Bigs Easter Sentiments Stamp Set and vintage photo distress ink. Tuck it slightly behind the vellum and secure with adhesive.

Step 6: Cut the frame twice from woodgrain cardstock using the Border Bling: Skinny Vees Frame Die and glue them together. Add some Aqua Mist ink and Hawaiian Shores ink splatter over the top. Glue it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue and then add the focal panel over the top using foam squares.

I did add some marker splatter to the lilies and the pink flowers for added detail.

Papertrey Ink {You are My Happy Place}

Hello friends! I wanted to pop in today to share the card I made for the Papertrey Ink Instagram hop yesterday! This is actually the card I had envisioned making for the countdown, but I went in a different direction. I love how that previous card turned out, but it was so fun to create the card I had been envisioning and planning!

All of the new products are now available, including the darling Country Rooster Die and coordinating stencil. I certainly didn't think I was going to fall in love with this die set like I have, but here we are! haha!

This card is inspired by the farm animals plate set from Rifle Paper Co. with the French country colors, scallops, and rooster, of course! To begin this card, I die cut the scalloped frame using the Fantastic Front: Scalloped Frame Die from True Black cardstock. It's hard to see in the photos, but I also cut another frame using the In Frames: Rectangles Die from the same black cardstock. You can see the pierced detail on the upper righthand corner. I layered the two frames together using black foam squares. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock slightly larger than the opening of the frame and did some quick leaf stenciling using the new Stems & Blooms Stencil Collection. This is another unexpected favorite from this release and I feel like I just need to keep these near my desk to add quick details to cards!

The flowers and foliage are from the new Simply Birds Die with the exception of the yellow flowers; those are from the new Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Diet hat was featured on day 4 of the countdown! I cut everything from white cardstock and then colored them with dye inks and blender brushes. Once that was done, I glued the pieces together, spritzed them with fossilized amber distress oxide spray and then set them aside to dry. The red flowers also got some navy marker splatter using a color-spritzing tool.

The rooster is also cut from white and colored the same way as the flowers and leaves. I did add the stenciling to the body of the rooster using the Country Rooster Stencil Collection. There are three different patterns included in the collection for versatility. The bow is also from the Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die and gives this rooster a little bit of whimsy; putting on some springtime finery! I also added a dot of marker for the eye; just a quick job with a fine-tip Sharpie!

The focal panel is adhered to an A2 panel of Blueberry Sky cardstock using liquid glue. I also added some white paint splatter and glitter for additional detailing. The sentiment is from the Just Sentiments: You're on My Mind Stamp Set and is stamped in black and then cut using the Just Tags Die. I secured it to the side of the frame using black foam squares. I mounted it all to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. I had so much fun creating this card and I'm glad I got the idea out of my brain! haha! Thanks for fluttering by!

The Greetery {Welcome Baby}

Hello and welcome! I'm happy to be here today sharing a baby card and coordinating tag to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Rose! I’ve been invited to a baby shower for a lady who has SIX boys…yes, SIX! She has been wanting a baby girl since forever and she’s finally getting her girl! Since she’s naming her baby Rose, I thought it only fitting to embrace it and create a rose-themed baby card and tag!

Since I knew the card would be rose-themed, I went straight for the Birth Month Blooms Cuttables, found the rose and coordinating Birth Month Blooms Q2 Die. I considered stamping the rose out, but this was a time-saver. If I was creating multiples of something, I would definitely do stamping instead. I created a gingham mat for the rose using some pink gingham pattern paper cut using the Capsule Basics Die. I used the Folk Heart Sentiments Stamp Set to add the “Welcome Baby” stamped in black. It’s also hard not to want to add Capsule Filigree Borders to everything, so why resist? I added the border cut from Vintage Cream cardstock using liquid glue.

I’m still loving the convenience and ease of the Capsule Fixed Borders Small Die; I cut it from white and then added the stamping to coordinate with the colors of the rose using the Capsule Collection Floral Borders Stamp Set. This is the perfect frame for the rose focal point and provides additional feminine detail to elevate the design. The Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stamp Set and Die embossed in gold give it the perfect landing spot.

Next, I cut another border from yellow gingham cardstock using the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die. It is a creamy, pale yellow to add warmth, without competing with the pink gingham used on the focal layer. I gave it a touch more detail by adding the pattern using the Thankful & Blessed Stamp. From there, I cut the base layer using the Capsule Basics Die from Vintage Cream cardstock. I also embossed it using the Capsule Basics Embossing Folder. From there, it was simply a matter of layering everything together to complete the design. I did create a capsule base for the card and stamped a sentiment on the inside as well.

The tag was created by choosing one of the beautiful prints included in the Capsule Valentine Gallery Prints. There were more than enough rose options, so I simply chose the one that coordinates nicely with the card AND allows room for a stamped sentiment. I just love how perfectly the Folk Heart Sentiments Stamp works for the card and the tag! I added another cream filigree border and some “hardware” cut using the Hang It Up Die from gold cardstock.

I did add both the large and small bows included in the Regency Bow No 2 Die; the large with some ink shading on the card, and the small on the tag. I’m happy with how this turned out! I have some sewing projects to get started on for Baby Rose, but I’m happy to have the card and tag all made! I hate running out of time and skimping on the card, especially since people think of me as the "card lady”! ha ha! I’m actually making a point to build up my baby card stash since it has dwindled. Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome back for the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! Everything will be available for purchase tomorrow, so mark your calendars and set your alarm! As I mentioned yesterday, I have another big post for you today sharing three cards using the new Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die and the final card features the darling new Cookie Swap: Spring Die! If you fell in love with the Christmas and Halloween sets, you're sure to love this one as well! In fact, it might be my favorite so far!

The new Into the Blooms: Spring Basket die features two different options for the "basket" portion. My first card shows it in its simplest form; the basket is cut from Fine Linen cardstock and then the outer ring is glued over the top. I will be showing another option that allows you to weave the slats through the frame for a bit more depth and detail.

I used the loop hanger for this card and the ribbon/bow option on another card so you can see the different choices. The flowers and foliage in this set are phenomenal and I'll be using these all the time, I can tell!

For the background, I used the stencils included in the Elegant Notes Stationery Kit. These are favorites of mine and I love using them for quick backgrounds for all types of cards!

The sentiments are from the new This is Big Sentiments: Spring Stamp/Die set! I added some white gel pen details along with some colored pencil details to enhance the flowers!

My next card uses the bow and the woven slats that I mentioned earlier! I cut the pieces for the basket from white wood grain cardstock and then wove them though the hoop. To make sure I lined the slats up correctly, I simply placed it over the die I used on the first card and then slid them in place.

This card has more of a country/cottage core feeling with the colors and plaid paper.

The background is created by cutting an A2 panel of Blueberry Sky cardstock using the Border Bling: Tin Stitch Die. I also cut a frame using the Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame Die from the same cardstock and then glued it over the top using liquid glue.

I cut a strip of Bitty Big: Blueberry Sky pattern paper and glued it in the middle of the background panel using liquid glue. Once that was done, I layered the mat that is cut using the Love to Layer: Lovely Bracket Die and then added the basket over the top.

The sentiment is heat embossed using white powder and cut using the Just Tags Die. I layered it with foam squares in the middle of the basket.

I covered up the sentiment with a post-it note and then gave the front a light splatter of white acrylic paint.

This card uses the florals and bow on their own! They are so beautiful and can be used on all types of cards for many different occasions!

I used the smallest bird included in the Simply Birds Die as the focal point for this card along with one of the beautiful sentiments in the Praying For You Sentiments II Stamp Set.

The background is Winter Wisteria cardstock with some Amethyst Allure ink blended around the edges for added depth.

I spritzed the flowers and foliage with speckled egg distress oxide spray before adding them to the card.

I used the In Frames: Circles Die for the frame to secure the flowers and for the focal point for the bird.

I added details with a white gel pen to the berries and purple flowers.

My final card for today and for the release is just as springy as it can be! I used the previously released Cookie Swap Die for the cookie sheet, oven mitt, spatula, plate, and rolling pin! I had fun cutting and coloring all of the pieces for the cookies!

I heat embossed the spring sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Welcome Spring, in white directly onto the cookie sheet.

I added some flower details to the cookies using flowers that are cut using the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die. I tucked some foliage from the same set here and there as well.

I think I may have mentioned this before recently, but sometimes I opt for spring sentiments rather than Easter, because I never know if I will get the time to deliver the Easter cards before the big day arrives! If I use a spring sentiment, I have all season long! ha ha!

Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome back for day 3 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! I have quite a bit to share with you today, and up first is the gorgeous new addition in the Reflections series! I know I say it every time, but I love creating with these scripture verses and having spiritually uplifting cards on hand!

I warned you yesterday that I am obsessed with the new Stems & Blooms stencils and this card features another background created with the collection! I chose cool tones for this card with white embossing for a refreshing feel! This card also features the beautiful new Simply Birds Die that I can't seem to get enough of!

I've used all of the Reflections: 1 Corinthians 6 Dies; both sizes of mats and the outline die as well. I also snuck a few leaves from a set that will be showcased tomorrow for added variation and visual interest.

I've been having fun with these 5" by 7" inch cards, but the rest of the cards I'm sharing today are A2 sized!

To begin, I cut all of the pieces that I needed for the focal image from white cardstock. I colored everything with dye inks and blender brushes and then glued everything together with liquid glue and foam squares.

I built the scene on the middle sized mat included in the Love to Layer: Playful Scallops Die. For the background, I used the new Framed in Florals Hot Foil Plate with gold foil on Lovely Lady cardstock. I ran out of champagne foil so this is a little bit more yellow than I was hoing for, but it brings out the yellow of the flower centers. I cut it using the Rounded Rectangles: Stitched Die; I can't remember if I mentioned it in yesterday's rooster post, but it's the perfect size for this plate!

I created a frame for the focal panel to next inside by cutting the middle size oval included in the In Frames: ovals Die. I cut it from Hibiscus Burst cardstock and then rubbed the edge of the Fresh Snow ink pad over the outer edge. I secured it to the background using foam squares and then added the focal oval using a double-thickness of foam squares to lift it higher.

I really liked the cottage-like feeling of this card, so I used this sign die included in the Hold That Thought Die for the sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Thankful For Fall Sentiments Mini Stamp Set and is stamped in black. I adhered it to the frame using foam squares.

I added glitter on the raspberry for sugary sweetness and touches here and there for additional sparkle and shine! I layered the entire background onto a top-folding A2 card base using foam squares.

My next card features the other two teapots, but this time without windows and doors! As I mentioned earlier, this set can be used in all kinds of different ways, with or without the window and doors.

I'm obsessed with the raspberry die that is included in the set and used it more prominently on this card. Isn't the macron just the cutest? I can't wait to try using them stacked up for a birthday card or something!

Once again, all of the pieces are cut from white cardstock and then colored using dye inks and blender brushes. I layered them onto the largest size oval included in the Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals Die using foam squares and liquid glue. I added some ink splatter using a brown marker and a color-spritzing tool.

I wanted a sentiment fitting for the theme, of course, and decided on one of my favorites included in the Feathered Friends Mini 3 Stamp Set. I stamped it and cut it using the Hold That Thought Die.

For the background, I used the Cover Plate: Cross Stitched Die cut from Hibiscus Burst cardstock and mounted on a white top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.

I snuck in a few of the leaves that are included in a set being showcased tomorrow, so stay tuned! They look like raspberry leaves so I couldn't resist adding them in! A sprinkling of glitter and sequins finish off this card!

My final card uses the set with two teapots stacked for maximum charm! haha! There is a tiny ladder included in the set, but I didn't use it, even though this is a double-decker stack of pots!

I haven't quite figured out why the sentiment looks blurry in the photos, because it definitely isn't in real life! It is from the Home is Where the Heart Is Mini Stamp Set and is heat embossed with detail white powder.

I added some white paint splatter, glitter, and foiling for added detail!

Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! Today the team is showcasing some really fun and beautiful new products to usher in spring! My first card features an unexpected new favorite: the Country Rooster Die and coordinating Country Rooster Stencil Collection.

I've also used the new Framed in Florals Hot Foil Plate with silver foil. I cut the panel using the Rounded Rectangles: Pierced Die to give it some added detail.

Mr. Rooster is cut from Vintage Cream cardstock and then colored and stenciled with dye ink. I adhered the wing using foam squares and then glued the red portion using liquid glue. The legs are adhered to the back using clear tape and foam squares.

As promised, the background panel is stenciled using the Stems and Blooms Stencil Collection. This is a collection of individual little stencils for each leaf, flower, and then a stencil for the flower centers. I had fun creating the border and then adding some brown ink splatter.

The flowers and foliage are from the Simply Birds Die set that was showcased yesterday and the sentiment is from the Praying for You Sentiments II Stamp/Die set.

My next card for today uses the new Basket of Blooms Stamp Set! Rather than creating a springtime themed card, I decided to pull in another prayer sentiment. I like having cards like this on hand to give at a moment's notice!

I also did some stenciling using the previously released In the Meadow Stencil Collection. I used it on an Easter card I shared last week and I just wasn't ready to put it away just yet! It created the perfect backdrop for this gorgeous basket of blooms.

I couldn't find my scalloped edge dies, so I used the Border Bling: Scalloped Frame to cut out the cute lace border for the bottom of the card. More gingham for the background, of course! ha ha! I added some glitter and sequins and some brown splatter to the stenciling for detail!

Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 1

It's day 1 of the March release countdown for Papertrey Ink and today I'm sharing two cards chock full of springtime cheer! We've had record-breaking warm weather this week and the birds are chirping, the daffodils are blooming, the forsythia bushes are bursting, and the trees are blossoming! You might just say "Spring has sprung"!

My first card for today features the lovely new Simply Birds Die paired with the new Praying for You Sentiments II Stamp Set. This new die set features two bird figurines in different sizes and an assortment of beautiful flowers and foliage.

To begin my card, I die cut all of the pieces included in the Simply Birds Die a few times from white cardstock. I colored everything with blender brushes and dye inks and then gave them a few spritzes of fossilized amber distress oxide spray. While those were drying, I got to work on the background.

I used the Elegant Script Hot Foil Plate with silver foil on Vintage Cream cardstock. Once that was done, I cut it using the largest die included in the Love to Layer: Torn Edges Die making sure to position the script foiling going the correct direction. I added some antique gold distress oxide ink around the edges to give it a vintage, worn feel.

Next, I created a frame by nesting the two dies included in the new Reflections Die coming out with this release. We won't be featuring it for a few days, so consider this a sneak peek! ha ha! I added the same ink around the edges and the inside of the frame and then adhered it to the foiled panel using foam squares. I gave it a spritz of Speckled Egg Distress Oxide spray for added vintage charm.

I nestled the birds, flowers, and foliage inside the frame using both liquid glue and foam squares until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I stamped the sentiment in black and then cut it out using the coordinating die. I have used this sentiment set quite a bit for this release and I know it will be a tried and true favorite!

For the card base, I created a 5" by 7" card from Vintage Cream cardstock. I used the In Frames: Big and Tall Rectangles Die for the outer frame that is cut from Stormy Sea cardstock. I layered it on the card base using foam squares and then added the entire focal panel using additional foam squares! A bit of glitter and sequins finish off this card!

My next card uses the new Spring Wagon Stamp/Die set! This is a whimsical set featuring a wagon, larger-than-life cracked egg, and an assortment of blooms and mushrooms! It also includes a few different springtime sentiments that fit nicely onto two different sign options to decorate the wagon.

This card also features the new This is Big Sentiments: Spring Stamp/Die set and a new stencil collection called Stems and Blooms! I have used it quite a bit and it has instantly become a must-have in my opinion! I used it on the mat behind the focal image to give a hint of added color and pattern. Some of the other cards I've made for the release feature it more heavily, so stay tuned!

This is another 5" by 7" card using the same frame set that I used on the previous card, but this time I used some gingham pattern paper for the outer frame.

I heat embossed the accent portion of the sentiment in white on Berry Sorbet cardstock and then added it to the bottom using foam squares.

The Greetery {Spring Jardin Collection Release Day}

Hello friends! It's release day for the gorgeous new Spring Jardin Collection from The Greetery! I mentioned in my post for day one that I wanted to create some projects that were more unexpected using the Tangled Tulips suite of products, but I'm back today with a fresh project using it in the "intended" way! ha ha!

To begin my card, I cut the frame from white cardstock using the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die and then used the Tangled Tulips Stamp + Stencil set to add the design. Once the stamping/stenciling was done, I embossed it using the Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder.

Once that was done, I got to work on the clusters of tulips. I die cut everything twice using the Tangled Tulips Detail Die from white cardstock and then colored the pieces using dye inks and blender brushes. I added some colored pencil details to the clusters and to the frame.

I used the Capsule Basics Die for the middle section and the outer background. I cut the middle section from white woodgrain cardstock and the outer portion using Lilac Grace cardstock. I also created a white card base using the same die collection. The middle section also features a border that was cut using the Capsule Filigree Borders Die from Antique Gold cardstock.

I layered everything on the Lilac panel using foam squares for dimension.

The sentiment, which is from the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set, is heat embossed in gold onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock and cut using the banner die included in the Tangled Tulips Die.

I added a generous sprinkling of glitter for sparkle and shine! I was happy to use this set in the prescribed way, but I did have SO much fun during the coundown showing how it could be used in other ways! Project Inspiration {Wishing You an Easter Filled with His Love}

Hello and welcome! It's my turn for the Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink and today I'll be sharing how I created this card in 7 steps! I loved the color combination from one of my cards I created last week, so I tried it again on this card and I'm still loving it just as much!

I'll share tips along the way and explain my process!

There are actually 7 steps, but only six fit nicely in the grid, but I'll share all of them below! ha ha!

Step 1: Cut an A2 panel of white cardstock and then add the stenciling using the In the Meadow Stencil Collection. Once the stenciling is done, add some brown ink splatter to the panel. I trimmed down the panel to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and set it aside.

Step 2: Add the mat that is cut from white cardstock using the Love to Layer: Garnished Edges Die. Secure it to the background panel with foam squares.

Step 3: Cut the egg from white cardstock using the Egg Hunt Die. I used Aqua Mist ink and then used the Egg Hunt Stencil Collection to add the strips with the same ink. Add ink splatter and brown ink splatter for a speckled look.

Step 4: Cut and color the leaves and flowers using the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die. For the smallest flowers, add ink to a piece of white cardstock and then cut them.

Step 5: Cut the pieces for the bow from white cardstock using the Wrap-it Ribbons Die. Color it using dye ink and blender brushes. Assemble with foam squares and liquid glue and attach to the top of the egg.

Step 6: Heat emboss the Sentiment in gold onto a strip of vellum. Wrap it around the card front and secure it to the back using clear tape.

Step 7: Add glitter and sequins and attach the panel to a top-folding A2 card base using foam squares.

I like to use both liquid glue and foam squares to assemble the flowers for added realism. The smallest flowers are shaped using a foam mat and the smallest end of a stylus tool. I like to use a fine tip 2-way glue pen to add the centers of the small flowers.

Since I used Aqua Mist ink on some of the leaves on the stenciled panel, I also added Aqua centers to the larger flowers. I have quite the collection of Easter cards now, but there are still a few new products I've purchased that I haven't had a chance to use yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance to use them soon since Easter is on its way! Thanks for fluttering by!

The Greetery {Spring Jardin Collection Day 2}

Hello and welcome back for day 2 of full reveals for the Spring Jardin Collection from The Greetery! I'm so excited for this beautiful new release and I have quite a bit to share today, but first, you'll want to head to The Greetery Blog for the official "meet and greet" and as always, make sure to leave a comment here, and on each of the designers' blogs for a chance to win one of two $50 gift certificates to the shop!

My first project for today is similar to one I created for the last release, but this time, I created little baskets rather than pouches! I love how these turned out and I can't wait to make a few more to add gifts and treats for Easter! You can see the pouches HERE and read about how I created them. I will explain the differences between the two, but I mostly want to focus on the new products I used on these!

Each of the baskets feature the beautiful new dies included in the Golden Egg Suite of products! I used the medium-sized egg die for these baskets along with the new filigree borders for the eggs! I cut the three eggs I used for the baskets from white cardstock and then I used blender brushes and dye ink, along with some ink splatter. I cut the filigree borders from gold cardstock and attached them with liquid glue.

These two baskets feature the frames that I showed yesterday on my windmill scene card. I had one leftover and decided to cut it to use on these two baskets. The other basket with the chocolate bunny just has a solid frame with the Tangled Tulips embossing.

Each basket features one of the new Simple Easter Mini Sentiments heat embossed in gold along with the new Bigger Botanicals dies. I haven't used them all, but I've had fun with the ones I have used! I'll be sharing a few more ways to use those today as well.

This photo shows the basket upright; they flare out a bit because the handle stretches it out, but if you use a shorter handle, it might stay closed tighter. I actually like how it flares out because it looks more like a basket and I plan on adding treats and gifts in a cello bag to put inside.

This one features the new Chocolate Bunnies Die. This die has all of the pieces you need to create this bunny AND it has two so you can have the bunny face one direction or the other! I have another project showing the one facing the other direction so you can see.

One of my favorite things when I was a little girl was the beautiful and magical sugar eggs that people would have as part of their Easter decor. This card was made specifically with that in mind and I LOVE that all of the dies included in the Golden Egg Die make it possible to recreate that look! I chose to create a shaped card to really focus on that idea!

This Choclate Bunny is facing the other direction, but is identical to the other! Having both dies would also be handy if you're creating a tag or something so you could have it on both sides, or picks for cupcakes, etc. This little bunny is hiding in a nest of Tangled Tulips that were showcased yesterday!

I added glitter, pearls, and gold details {paper and embossing} to bring in the elegance of the sugar eggs. The sentiment is from the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set and is heat embossed in gold and then cut using the Tangled Tulips Die.

This was such a fun card to make and I can't wait to make more using different combinations of flowers, etc.

My last project for today using the Golden Egg suite of products is a 5 by 7 card featuring the Golden Egg Stencil collection! I'm obsessed with the beautiful results and it has an empty space for the largest egg included in the die set.

I used the color combination that was suggested on the back of the stencil package because it's so beautiful and not one I would have used on my own necessarily.

I tucked a few of the new Bigger Botanicals behind the bow and another banner sentiment stamped using the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set.

I'm switching gears from Easter to share a project using a few more of the Bigger Botanicals! I love this larger sentiment included in the Simple Spring Sentiments Stamp Set. I think this card could work well for all kinds of celebrations; new home, baby, new job, retirement, etc!

I made quite a few of these borders and I just love how it looks with the botanicals!

I used wood veneer cardstock for the sentiment and the card base.

My final card for today is probably one of my favorites! It features the DARLING new Silly Goose suite of products! I was lamenting that I wanted to create with the goose theme, but didn't have anything in my stash! Cue this new collection! Yay! My wish came true and now I want to make all the geese things! I grew up when geese donned many a home, including my own childhood home, so it brings with it tenderness and nostalgia!

I used quite a few different products to bring this one to life! To begin, I created the frame with the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die cut from a pretty blue cardstock. I embossed it with the new Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder and then rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the top.

Next, I layered it onto the background that was cut using the Capsule Basics Die from woodgrain cardstock. I also used the Capsule Basics Embossing Folder and then layered the frame over the top. I wanted to add even more detail so I cut the smaller frame using the Capsule Fixed Borders Small Die from white cardstock and then stamped it using the Capsule Collection Valentine Border Stamp Set. This particular look goes perfectly with the geese theme from yesteryear and it makes my heart happy!

Up next is the thin embossed frame; this was created using the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Die and the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stamp Set with gold embossing powder. I simply glued it over the other blue frame with liquid glue.

The mat for the cutie-patootie goose was cut from gingham cardstock with some hot foiling using the Capsule Borders 1 Hot Foil and champagne foil.

Once that was done, it was time to get started on the goose! There are a BUNCH of different options to create all kinds of different geese; I chose to use one with a bow around her neck and her cute wellies!

I'm planning on using this as a baby card, so I chose to use the "Mother Goose & Co. sentiment from the Silly Goose Sentiments Stamp Set. I added a few Bigger Botanicals here and there to finish off the card! My first project for today showcases the GORGEOUS new Tangled Tulips suite of products! This suite is similar the the Rosemal Reflections that was released last year! I decided to share something a little bit different using these products than you might have expected. My ancestry on my mom's mom's side is Dutch, so my heart was yearning to do something with a touch of the Netherlands in mind!

To begin, I used the beautiful new Tangled Tulips Stamp + Stencil Combo to create the frame. First, I die cut the frame using the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die from white cardstock and then did the stenciling. I wanted all different colors of tulips, so I made sure to switch colors as I was stenciling. Once that was done, I used the coordinating stamp to add the greenery. It would be beautiful to just leave it as is, but I wanted to use the new Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder to give it additional depth and dimension.

Once the frame was complete, I got to work on the scene. This was achieved by using the older Rolling Hills Die and the coordinating Rolling Hills Stencil. I also cut the windmill, fence, and houses using the Countryside Die. I assembled it all on the inside portion of the frame (the piece that was leftover from the frame) with some clouds stenciled in the background and a little ink splatter. I had fun adding the buildings and windmill here and there to give it a realistic look. I couldn't resist adding the border that was cut from silver cardstock using the Capsule Filigree Borders Die

The suite includes a Tangled Tulips Detail Die, which is what I used for the tulip clusters near the bottom right and the upper left side. I simply colored it and assembled it as instructed, but then cut it apart to tuck behind the frame. The sentiment, which is included in the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set, is stamped in black and then cut using the banner die from the Tangled Tulips Die. The base of the card is cut using the Capsule Basics Die. I added some glitter for sparkle and shine!

My next card uses the same colors AND the Tangled Tulips Detail Die (this is how the cluster looks intact) along with the DARLING new Shortbread Shapes: Easter embossing folder. I pulled in some of the previously released products to bring this card to life.

To begin, I die cut the nine rectangles using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Die from white cardstock. I colored them with blender brushes an die ink; two of each color with the exception of the pink. I used the main die to cut the base for the rectangles using the same die collection from woodgrain white cardstock. I glued the colored rectangles in place and then used the Shortbread Shapes: Easter embossing folder to give it the dimension. I cut the bottom banner piece using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Label Die. I layered the tulip cluster over the top using foam squares.

The sentiment is from the new Simple Spring Mini Sentiments Stamp Set. I love the font on these sets. There is the larger version as well, but I'm not sharing a card using the larger images until tomorrow, but I'm sure some of the other designers have used them today.

For the base, I used the previously released Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Die along with the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Embossing Folder.

For my last project, we're heading back to the Netherlands in all its glory! ha ha! I was really wanted to create a card using the Dutch Delft Blue look and the new Shortbread Shapes: Spring Embossing Folder gave me the perfect opportunity! This card was so much fun to make and I hope you all like it whether you're Dutch or not! ha ha!

I love the way the "tiles" look peeking from the stamp/stenciled/embossed frame. I thought this was a good way to showcase a few more ideas for using the Shortbread Shapes. I started off the same way as I did with the previous card, but I colored all of the rectangles the same way and I set one aside to use under the windmill.

You can see the woodgrain texture a bit better on the windmill along with another one of the new Simple Spring Mini Sentiments.

For the frame on this one, I used Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, and Enchanted Evening ink to achieve the Delft blue look.

I used the Tangled Tulips Detail Die for the floral clusters and cut it apart like I did on the first card! I've had a ball creating with this new release!
