Project Inspiration {Sending Love and Hugs

Hello and welcome! Things have been a bit quiet over here as we've been celebrating and basking in the joy of Easter! It's good to be back with a card today for this weekend's Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink.

As I was searching through my stand-alone die storage, I ran across this pretty frame that I haven't used in ages, so that was the starting point for today's card, along with some vintage fabric that inspired the colors!

Follow along with me as I explain how this card came together in six easy steps!

Step 1: Cut an A2 panel of white cardstock and add the pierced detail using the Cover Plate: Quilted Die. Attach it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. Cut the frame from white using the Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame. Attach it to the background panel using 1/8 inch ScorTape.

Step 2: Cut the frame twice from white cardstock using the Extravagant Floral Frames Die and glue them together. Add some ink blending using dye inks and blender brushes. Attach it to the background panel using foam squares for dimension.

Step 3: Cut the middle-sized oval from the Love to Layer: Ovals Die and attach it using foam squares.

Step 4: Cut all of the flowers and foliage using both the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die and the Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die. Color them with dye inks and blender brushes. Assemble them with liquid glue and foam squares.

Step 5: Add the tiny flowers (included in the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die-linked above) to the vines using liquid glue.

Step 6: Add the sentiments; the "sending" portion of the sentiment is cut using the Lots of Hugs Die and stamped in Pure Poppy using the Lot of Hugs Stamp Set. The remaining sentiments are from the This is Big Sentiments: Love Stamp Set. I attached them with foam squares.

I forgot to add the glitter in the last step-by-step photo, but you can see the glitter on the flowers and foliage in this photo.

As you probably already know, I'm a big fan of the florals in the Wild Wood Die set and I've explained how I assemble the tiny flowers before, but if you've missed it, I'll explain again. I used to cut them all from white and then try and add the color to those tiny pieces, but now I color a small section of a scrap piece of white cardstock with a blender brush and then die cut both the flowers and centers (two separate colors, of course). I add a cupped shape to the flowers by using the smaller end of my stylus on a foam mat and then add some adhesive using the fine-tip 2-way glue pen. From there, I use a gem picker to grab the centers and carefully layer them in the center on the pool of liquid glue. I also add them to my projects with the gem picker so I don't have to handle them very much.

Your eyes are not deceiving you; I did add the two extra leaves to the floral cluster for balance and added harmony. If felt too naked without them....haha!

I'm happy with how this card turned out and it will be perfect for all kinds of occasions; thinking of you, sympathy, encouragement, etc.

Easter Tweets & Sweets Tags

I finally got my computer back so I'm able to post these tags I made earlier this week! I was in need of a few to attach to Easter gifts I've been preparing. The gifts I was putting together included the little baskets I made for the Spring Jardin release, so I wanted to keep the tags cohesive with that feel.

I made four in total, so I cut the base of each egg using the Golden Egg Die from white cardstock and then used dye inks and blender brushes to add the color. I made a yellow, pink, aqua, and purple egg and then added coordinating ink splatter to each one. Once that was done, I cut the gold border using the Golden Egg Filigree Border from bright gold cardstock. I used liquid glue to adhere it to the eggs and set them aside to dry.

I had two flower clusters already made because they were leftovers from the release, so I created two more using the Bigger Botanicals: Jacob's Ladder Die and the Bigger Botanicals: Cress Die. I cut everything from white cardstock and then colored them with dye inks and blender brushes. I added some adhesive pearls to the center of the blue flowers. The two clusters that were already created have some fossilized amber distress oxide spray, so you might notice that as well.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto four strips of coordinating cardstock using the Simple Spring Mini Sentiments Stamp Set and then attached them over the eggs and floral clusters using foam squares.

The base of each tag is one of the dies included in the Golden Egg Die and is cut from my favorite spring pattern paper: Spring Pastels, but unfortunately it is retired. There will come a time when I have used it all and I will be so sad!

I added an eyelet to the top of each tag so the paper wouldn't tear when I added the gold cord.

Before I attached the eggs to the front of the tags, I used the same sentiment stamp set to stamp a "to: from:" sentiment along with another one included in the set for added Easter wishes! I've already delivered the gifts these are attached to and they looked so cute! I wish I would have made more! ha ha! 18 Carrot Friendship {Happy Easter}

I can't believe Easter is on Sunday! It feels like it has arrived so quickly this year! I couldn't let the special day go by without creating a card with this absolutely DARLING stamp set from Pink and Main. This is one of those must-have stamp sets for me and I bought it back in January when it came out and FINALLY took the time to create with it! I adore the sweet bunnies and chicks and I have really missed coloring!

To begin, I used the 18 Carrot Friendship Die to cut all of the pieces out. I cut a few extra eggs so I could use them as fillers if needed. Once that was done, I used the 18 Carrot Friendship Stamp Set to stamp the images in black. I had to run some errands, so I just left them to dry because I absolutely hate when I go to color the images and the black ink smears! Ugh!

When I got home, I colored the images using OLO Markers, along with a few Copic and Prismacolor markers to blend colors. I also have a cheap Caliart set that I used as well. I have found that the key with the cheap sets is to make a color chart (or fill in the one that comes with it) because the caps never show the true color. I only have a few sets of the OLO markers, so the extra colors come in handy to provide shading if need be.

It was so fun and therapeutic to color and I really need to do it more often. My daughter asked me the other day which companies I used to make critter cards for and I told her neither company is currently making stamps, but I really need to create with them more often because they're so cute and I miss coloring!

I added some white pen detailing, glitter, and a touch of gold on the pink egg with polka dots.

I kept things simple and just added the images to one of the beautiful mats that you can create using the Eyelet Layer Frames. I cut it from white and then added some Seafoam Ink and splatter to the center of the mat using a blender brush and paint brush. I set the scene and then committed using foam squares. I layered it up onto a panel of Pale Peony cardstock and a white card base.

I had a few images left over so I added them to the inside along with another sentiment. I am seriously perplexed because by the time I was finished with the majority of the card, my stamp set up and vanishes so I couldn't use one of the included sentiments. I opted to use the Simple Spring Mini Sentiments Stamp Set for the sentiment on the front and this one on the inside.

I had so much fun creating this card and while I normally like to make religious Easter cards, this one was such a joy and a delight! Thanks for fluttering by!

Project Inspiration {He Is Risen}

It's my turn for this weekend's Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink! I thought I'd sneak in one more Easter card before the big day, but that actually isn't true, because I sat down yesterday to make ANOTHER! haha! Easter and spring are so special and wonderful so it's hard not to keep creating!

This card uses a good mix of old and new stamps and dies, but I love how it turned out!

Follow along with me as I show you how to create this card in six easy steps!

Step 1: Foil a panel of white cardstock using the Framed in Flowers Hot Foil Plate with silver foil. Cut it out using the Rounded Rectangles: Pierced Die. It is the perfect size to cut around the foiling. Add some ink blending to the panel using Lilac Grace, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, Pale Peony, and Berry Sorbet ink.

Step 2: Cut the window using the Stained Glass Window Die three times and glue them together. I used woodgrain cardstock for the top layer for added detail. Glue it to the foiled panel using liquid glue.

Step 3: Heat emboss the sentiment in silver using the Just Sentiments: Easter Mini Stamp Set on a strip of vellum and secure it to the back of the panel using clear tape or the adhesive of your choice.

Step 4: Cut the flowers and foliage using the Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die and the Simply Birds Die from white cardstock. Color them with dye inks and blender brushes. Arrange them around the window and add glitter.

Step 5: Cut the cross three times from Kraft cardstock using the The Bigs Easter Sentiments Die and glue them together. Stamp the cross image on the top one (before you glue them together) using the The Bigs Easter Sentiments Stamp Set and vintage photo distress ink. Tuck it slightly behind the vellum and secure with adhesive.

Step 6: Cut the frame twice from woodgrain cardstock using the Border Bling: Skinny Vees Frame Die and glue them together. Add some Aqua Mist ink and Hawaiian Shores ink splatter over the top. Glue it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue and then add the focal panel over the top using foam squares.

I did add some marker splatter to the lilies and the pink flowers for added detail.

Papertrey Ink {You are My Happy Place}

Hello friends! I wanted to pop in today to share the card I made for the Papertrey Ink Instagram hop yesterday! This is actually the card I had envisioned making for the countdown, but I went in a different direction. I love how that previous card turned out, but it was so fun to create the card I had been envisioning and planning!

All of the new products are now available, including the darling Country Rooster Die and coordinating stencil. I certainly didn't think I was going to fall in love with this die set like I have, but here we are! haha!

This card is inspired by the farm animals plate set from Rifle Paper Co. with the French country colors, scallops, and rooster, of course! To begin this card, I die cut the scalloped frame using the Fantastic Front: Scalloped Frame Die from True Black cardstock. It's hard to see in the photos, but I also cut another frame using the In Frames: Rectangles Die from the same black cardstock. You can see the pierced detail on the upper righthand corner. I layered the two frames together using black foam squares. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock slightly larger than the opening of the frame and did some quick leaf stenciling using the new Stems & Blooms Stencil Collection. This is another unexpected favorite from this release and I feel like I just need to keep these near my desk to add quick details to cards!

The flowers and foliage are from the new Simply Birds Die with the exception of the yellow flowers; those are from the new Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Diet hat was featured on day 4 of the countdown! I cut everything from white cardstock and then colored them with dye inks and blender brushes. Once that was done, I glued the pieces together, spritzed them with fossilized amber distress oxide spray and then set them aside to dry. The red flowers also got some navy marker splatter using a color-spritzing tool.

The rooster is also cut from white and colored the same way as the flowers and leaves. I did add the stenciling to the body of the rooster using the Country Rooster Stencil Collection. There are three different patterns included in the collection for versatility. The bow is also from the Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die and gives this rooster a little bit of whimsy; putting on some springtime finery! I also added a dot of marker for the eye; just a quick job with a fine-tip Sharpie!

The focal panel is adhered to an A2 panel of Blueberry Sky cardstock using liquid glue. I also added some white paint splatter and glitter for additional detailing. The sentiment is from the Just Sentiments: You're on My Mind Stamp Set and is stamped in black and then cut using the Just Tags Die. I secured it to the side of the frame using black foam squares. I mounted it all to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. I had so much fun creating this card and I'm glad I got the idea out of my brain! haha! Thanks for fluttering by!

The Greetery {Welcome Baby}

Hello and welcome! I'm happy to be here today sharing a baby card and coordinating tag to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Rose! I’ve been invited to a baby shower for a lady who has SIX boys…yes, SIX! She has been wanting a baby girl since forever and she’s finally getting her girl! Since she’s naming her baby Rose, I thought it only fitting to embrace it and create a rose-themed baby card and tag!

Since I knew the card would be rose-themed, I went straight for the Birth Month Blooms Cuttables, found the rose and coordinating Birth Month Blooms Q2 Die. I considered stamping the rose out, but this was a time-saver. If I was creating multiples of something, I would definitely do stamping instead. I created a gingham mat for the rose using some pink gingham pattern paper cut using the Capsule Basics Die. I used the Folk Heart Sentiments Stamp Set to add the “Welcome Baby” stamped in black. It’s also hard not to want to add Capsule Filigree Borders to everything, so why resist? I added the border cut from Vintage Cream cardstock using liquid glue.

I’m still loving the convenience and ease of the Capsule Fixed Borders Small Die; I cut it from white and then added the stamping to coordinate with the colors of the rose using the Capsule Collection Floral Borders Stamp Set. This is the perfect frame for the rose focal point and provides additional feminine detail to elevate the design. The Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stamp Set and Die embossed in gold give it the perfect landing spot.

Next, I cut another border from yellow gingham cardstock using the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die. It is a creamy, pale yellow to add warmth, without competing with the pink gingham used on the focal layer. I gave it a touch more detail by adding the pattern using the Thankful & Blessed Stamp. From there, I cut the base layer using the Capsule Basics Die from Vintage Cream cardstock. I also embossed it using the Capsule Basics Embossing Folder. From there, it was simply a matter of layering everything together to complete the design. I did create a capsule base for the card and stamped a sentiment on the inside as well.

The tag was created by choosing one of the beautiful prints included in the Capsule Valentine Gallery Prints. There were more than enough rose options, so I simply chose the one that coordinates nicely with the card AND allows room for a stamped sentiment. I just love how perfectly the Folk Heart Sentiments Stamp works for the card and the tag! I added another cream filigree border and some “hardware” cut using the Hang It Up Die from gold cardstock.

I did add both the large and small bows included in the Regency Bow No 2 Die; the large with some ink shading on the card, and the small on the tag. I’m happy with how this turned out! I have some sewing projects to get started on for Baby Rose, but I’m happy to have the card and tag all made! I hate running out of time and skimping on the card, especially since people think of me as the "card lady”! ha ha! I’m actually making a point to build up my baby card stash since it has dwindled. Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome back for the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! Everything will be available for purchase tomorrow, so mark your calendars and set your alarm! As I mentioned yesterday, I have another big post for you today sharing three cards using the new Into the Blooms: Spring Basket Die and the final card features the darling new Cookie Swap: Spring Die! If you fell in love with the Christmas and Halloween sets, you're sure to love this one as well! In fact, it might be my favorite so far!

The new Into the Blooms: Spring Basket die features two different options for the "basket" portion. My first card shows it in its simplest form; the basket is cut from Fine Linen cardstock and then the outer ring is glued over the top. I will be showing another option that allows you to weave the slats through the frame for a bit more depth and detail.

I used the loop hanger for this card and the ribbon/bow option on another card so you can see the different choices. The flowers and foliage in this set are phenomenal and I'll be using these all the time, I can tell!

For the background, I used the stencils included in the Elegant Notes Stationery Kit. These are favorites of mine and I love using them for quick backgrounds for all types of cards!

The sentiments are from the new This is Big Sentiments: Spring Stamp/Die set! I added some white gel pen details along with some colored pencil details to enhance the flowers!

My next card uses the bow and the woven slats that I mentioned earlier! I cut the pieces for the basket from white wood grain cardstock and then wove them though the hoop. To make sure I lined the slats up correctly, I simply placed it over the die I used on the first card and then slid them in place.

This card has more of a country/cottage core feeling with the colors and plaid paper.

The background is created by cutting an A2 panel of Blueberry Sky cardstock using the Border Bling: Tin Stitch Die. I also cut a frame using the Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame Die from the same cardstock and then glued it over the top using liquid glue.

I cut a strip of Bitty Big: Blueberry Sky pattern paper and glued it in the middle of the background panel using liquid glue. Once that was done, I layered the mat that is cut using the Love to Layer: Lovely Bracket Die and then added the basket over the top.

The sentiment is heat embossed using white powder and cut using the Just Tags Die. I layered it with foam squares in the middle of the basket.

I covered up the sentiment with a post-it note and then gave the front a light splatter of white acrylic paint.

This card uses the florals and bow on their own! They are so beautiful and can be used on all types of cards for many different occasions!

I used the smallest bird included in the Simply Birds Die as the focal point for this card along with one of the beautiful sentiments in the Praying For You Sentiments II Stamp Set.

The background is Winter Wisteria cardstock with some Amethyst Allure ink blended around the edges for added depth.

I spritzed the flowers and foliage with speckled egg distress oxide spray before adding them to the card.

I used the In Frames: Circles Die for the frame to secure the flowers and for the focal point for the bird.

I added details with a white gel pen to the berries and purple flowers.

My final card for today and for the release is just as springy as it can be! I used the previously released Cookie Swap Die for the cookie sheet, oven mitt, spatula, plate, and rolling pin! I had fun cutting and coloring all of the pieces for the cookies!

I heat embossed the spring sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Welcome Spring, in white directly onto the cookie sheet.

I added some flower details to the cookies using flowers that are cut using the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die. I tucked some foliage from the same set here and there as well.

I think I may have mentioned this before recently, but sometimes I opt for spring sentiments rather than Easter, because I never know if I will get the time to deliver the Easter cards before the big day arrives! If I use a spring sentiment, I have all season long! ha ha!

Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome back for day 3 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! I have quite a bit to share with you today, and up first is the gorgeous new addition in the Reflections series! I know I say it every time, but I love creating with these scripture verses and having spiritually uplifting cards on hand!

I warned you yesterday that I am obsessed with the new Stems & Blooms stencils and this card features another background created with the collection! I chose cool tones for this card with white embossing for a refreshing feel! This card also features the beautiful new Simply Birds Die that I can't seem to get enough of!

I've used all of the Reflections: 1 Corinthians 6 Dies; both sizes of mats and the outline die as well. I also snuck a few leaves from a set that will be showcased tomorrow for added variation and visual interest.

I've been having fun with these 5" by 7" inch cards, but the rest of the cards I'm sharing today are A2 sized!

To begin, I cut all of the pieces that I needed for the focal image from white cardstock. I colored everything with dye inks and blender brushes and then glued everything together with liquid glue and foam squares.

I built the scene on the middle sized mat included in the Love to Layer: Playful Scallops Die. For the background, I used the new Framed in Florals Hot Foil Plate with gold foil on Lovely Lady cardstock. I ran out of champagne foil so this is a little bit more yellow than I was hoing for, but it brings out the yellow of the flower centers. I cut it using the Rounded Rectangles: Stitched Die; I can't remember if I mentioned it in yesterday's rooster post, but it's the perfect size for this plate!

I created a frame for the focal panel to next inside by cutting the middle size oval included in the In Frames: ovals Die. I cut it from Hibiscus Burst cardstock and then rubbed the edge of the Fresh Snow ink pad over the outer edge. I secured it to the background using foam squares and then added the focal oval using a double-thickness of foam squares to lift it higher.

I really liked the cottage-like feeling of this card, so I used this sign die included in the Hold That Thought Die for the sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Thankful For Fall Sentiments Mini Stamp Set and is stamped in black. I adhered it to the frame using foam squares.

I added glitter on the raspberry for sugary sweetness and touches here and there for additional sparkle and shine! I layered the entire background onto a top-folding A2 card base using foam squares.

My next card features the other two teapots, but this time without windows and doors! As I mentioned earlier, this set can be used in all kinds of different ways, with or without the window and doors.

I'm obsessed with the raspberry die that is included in the set and used it more prominently on this card. Isn't the macron just the cutest? I can't wait to try using them stacked up for a birthday card or something!

Once again, all of the pieces are cut from white cardstock and then colored using dye inks and blender brushes. I layered them onto the largest size oval included in the Love to Layer: Scalloped Ovals Die using foam squares and liquid glue. I added some ink splatter using a brown marker and a color-spritzing tool.

I wanted a sentiment fitting for the theme, of course, and decided on one of my favorites included in the Feathered Friends Mini 3 Stamp Set. I stamped it and cut it using the Hold That Thought Die.

For the background, I used the Cover Plate: Cross Stitched Die cut from Hibiscus Burst cardstock and mounted on a white top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.

I snuck in a few of the leaves that are included in a set being showcased tomorrow, so stay tuned! They look like raspberry leaves so I couldn't resist adding them in! A sprinkling of glitter and sequins finish off this card!

My final card uses the set with two teapots stacked for maximum charm! haha! There is a tiny ladder included in the set, but I didn't use it, even though this is a double-decker stack of pots!

I haven't quite figured out why the sentiment looks blurry in the photos, because it definitely isn't in real life! It is from the Home is Where the Heart Is Mini Stamp Set and is heat embossed with detail white powder.

I added some white paint splatter, glitter, and foiling for added detail!

Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink March release countdown! Today the team is showcasing some really fun and beautiful new products to usher in spring! My first card features an unexpected new favorite: the Country Rooster Die and coordinating Country Rooster Stencil Collection.

I've also used the new Framed in Florals Hot Foil Plate with silver foil. I cut the panel using the Rounded Rectangles: Pierced Die to give it some added detail.

Mr. Rooster is cut from Vintage Cream cardstock and then colored and stenciled with dye ink. I adhered the wing using foam squares and then glued the red portion using liquid glue. The legs are adhered to the back using clear tape and foam squares.

As promised, the background panel is stenciled using the Stems and Blooms Stencil Collection. This is a collection of individual little stencils for each leaf, flower, and then a stencil for the flower centers. I had fun creating the border and then adding some brown ink splatter.

The flowers and foliage are from the Simply Birds Die set that was showcased yesterday and the sentiment is from the Praying for You Sentiments II Stamp/Die set.

My next card for today uses the new Basket of Blooms Stamp Set! Rather than creating a springtime themed card, I decided to pull in another prayer sentiment. I like having cards like this on hand to give at a moment's notice!

I also did some stenciling using the previously released In the Meadow Stencil Collection. I used it on an Easter card I shared last week and I just wasn't ready to put it away just yet! It created the perfect backdrop for this gorgeous basket of blooms.

I couldn't find my scalloped edge dies, so I used the Border Bling: Scalloped Frame to cut out the cute lace border for the bottom of the card. More gingham for the background, of course! ha ha! I added some glitter and sequins and some brown splatter to the stenciling for detail!

Papertrey Ink March Release Countdown Day 1

It's day 1 of the March release countdown for Papertrey Ink and today I'm sharing two cards chock full of springtime cheer! We've had record-breaking warm weather this week and the birds are chirping, the daffodils are blooming, the forsythia bushes are bursting, and the trees are blossoming! You might just say "Spring has sprung"!

My first card for today features the lovely new Simply Birds Die paired with the new Praying for You Sentiments II Stamp Set. This new die set features two bird figurines in different sizes and an assortment of beautiful flowers and foliage.

To begin my card, I die cut all of the pieces included in the Simply Birds Die a few times from white cardstock. I colored everything with blender brushes and dye inks and then gave them a few spritzes of fossilized amber distress oxide spray. While those were drying, I got to work on the background.

I used the Elegant Script Hot Foil Plate with silver foil on Vintage Cream cardstock. Once that was done, I cut it using the largest die included in the Love to Layer: Torn Edges Die making sure to position the script foiling going the correct direction. I added some antique gold distress oxide ink around the edges to give it a vintage, worn feel.

Next, I created a frame by nesting the two dies included in the new Reflections Die coming out with this release. We won't be featuring it for a few days, so consider this a sneak peek! ha ha! I added the same ink around the edges and the inside of the frame and then adhered it to the foiled panel using foam squares. I gave it a spritz of Speckled Egg Distress Oxide spray for added vintage charm.

I nestled the birds, flowers, and foliage inside the frame using both liquid glue and foam squares until I was satisfied with the arrangement. I stamped the sentiment in black and then cut it out using the coordinating die. I have used this sentiment set quite a bit for this release and I know it will be a tried and true favorite!

For the card base, I created a 5" by 7" card from Vintage Cream cardstock. I used the In Frames: Big and Tall Rectangles Die for the outer frame that is cut from Stormy Sea cardstock. I layered it on the card base using foam squares and then added the entire focal panel using additional foam squares! A bit of glitter and sequins finish off this card!

My next card uses the new Spring Wagon Stamp/Die set! This is a whimsical set featuring a wagon, larger-than-life cracked egg, and an assortment of blooms and mushrooms! It also includes a few different springtime sentiments that fit nicely onto two different sign options to decorate the wagon.

This card also features the new This is Big Sentiments: Spring Stamp/Die set and a new stencil collection called Stems and Blooms! I have used it quite a bit and it has instantly become a must-have in my opinion! I used it on the mat behind the focal image to give a hint of added color and pattern. Some of the other cards I've made for the release feature it more heavily, so stay tuned!

This is another 5" by 7" card using the same frame set that I used on the previous card, but this time I used some gingham pattern paper for the outer frame.

I heat embossed the accent portion of the sentiment in white on Berry Sorbet cardstock and then added it to the bottom using foam squares.

The Greetery {Spring Jardin Collection Release Day}

Hello friends! It's release day for the gorgeous new Spring Jardin Collection from The Greetery! I mentioned in my post for day one that I wanted to create some projects that were more unexpected using the Tangled Tulips suite of products, but I'm back today with a fresh project using it in the "intended" way! ha ha!

To begin my card, I cut the frame from white cardstock using the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die and then used the Tangled Tulips Stamp + Stencil set to add the design. Once the stamping/stenciling was done, I embossed it using the Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder.

Once that was done, I got to work on the clusters of tulips. I die cut everything twice using the Tangled Tulips Detail Die from white cardstock and then colored the pieces using dye inks and blender brushes. I added some colored pencil details to the clusters and to the frame.

I used the Capsule Basics Die for the middle section and the outer background. I cut the middle section from white woodgrain cardstock and the outer portion using Lilac Grace cardstock. I also created a white card base using the same die collection. The middle section also features a border that was cut using the Capsule Filigree Borders Die from Antique Gold cardstock.

I layered everything on the Lilac panel using foam squares for dimension.

The sentiment, which is from the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set, is heat embossed in gold onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock and cut using the banner die included in the Tangled Tulips Die.

I added a generous sprinkling of glitter for sparkle and shine! I was happy to use this set in the prescribed way, but I did have SO much fun during the coundown showing how it could be used in other ways! Project Inspiration {Wishing You an Easter Filled with His Love}

Hello and welcome! It's my turn for the Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink and today I'll be sharing how I created this card in 7 steps! I loved the color combination from one of my cards I created last week, so I tried it again on this card and I'm still loving it just as much!

I'll share tips along the way and explain my process!

There are actually 7 steps, but only six fit nicely in the grid, but I'll share all of them below! ha ha!

Step 1: Cut an A2 panel of white cardstock and then add the stenciling using the In the Meadow Stencil Collection. Once the stenciling is done, add some brown ink splatter to the panel. I trimmed down the panel to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and set it aside.

Step 2: Add the mat that is cut from white cardstock using the Love to Layer: Garnished Edges Die. Secure it to the background panel with foam squares.

Step 3: Cut the egg from white cardstock using the Egg Hunt Die. I used Aqua Mist ink and then used the Egg Hunt Stencil Collection to add the strips with the same ink. Add ink splatter and brown ink splatter for a speckled look.

Step 4: Cut and color the leaves and flowers using the Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die. For the smallest flowers, add ink to a piece of white cardstock and then cut them.

Step 5: Cut the pieces for the bow from white cardstock using the Wrap-it Ribbons Die. Color it using dye ink and blender brushes. Assemble with foam squares and liquid glue and attach to the top of the egg.

Step 6: Heat emboss the Sentiment in gold onto a strip of vellum. Wrap it around the card front and secure it to the back using clear tape.

Step 7: Add glitter and sequins and attach the panel to a top-folding A2 card base using foam squares.

I like to use both liquid glue and foam squares to assemble the flowers for added realism. The smallest flowers are shaped using a foam mat and the smallest end of a stylus tool. I like to use a fine tip 2-way glue pen to add the centers of the small flowers.

Since I used Aqua Mist ink on some of the leaves on the stenciled panel, I also added Aqua centers to the larger flowers. I have quite the collection of Easter cards now, but there are still a few new products I've purchased that I haven't had a chance to use yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance to use them soon since Easter is on its way! Thanks for fluttering by!

The Greetery {Spring Jardin Collection Day 2}

Hello and welcome back for day 2 of full reveals for the Spring Jardin Collection from The Greetery! I'm so excited for this beautiful new release and I have quite a bit to share today, but first, you'll want to head to The Greetery Blog for the official "meet and greet" and as always, make sure to leave a comment here, and on each of the designers' blogs for a chance to win one of two $50 gift certificates to the shop!

My first project for today is similar to one I created for the last release, but this time, I created little baskets rather than pouches! I love how these turned out and I can't wait to make a few more to add gifts and treats for Easter! You can see the pouches HERE and read about how I created them. I will explain the differences between the two, but I mostly want to focus on the new products I used on these!

Each of the baskets feature the beautiful new dies included in the Golden Egg Suite of products! I used the medium-sized egg die for these baskets along with the new filigree borders for the eggs! I cut the three eggs I used for the baskets from white cardstock and then I used blender brushes and dye ink, along with some ink splatter. I cut the filigree borders from gold cardstock and attached them with liquid glue.

These two baskets feature the frames that I showed yesterday on my windmill scene card. I had one leftover and decided to cut it to use on these two baskets. The other basket with the chocolate bunny just has a solid frame with the Tangled Tulips embossing.

Each basket features one of the new Simple Easter Mini Sentiments heat embossed in gold along with the new Bigger Botanicals dies. I haven't used them all, but I've had fun with the ones I have used! I'll be sharing a few more ways to use those today as well.

This photo shows the basket upright; they flare out a bit because the handle stretches it out, but if you use a shorter handle, it might stay closed tighter. I actually like how it flares out because it looks more like a basket and I plan on adding treats and gifts in a cello bag to put inside.

This one features the new Chocolate Bunnies Die. This die has all of the pieces you need to create this bunny AND it has two so you can have the bunny face one direction or the other! I have another project showing the one facing the other direction so you can see.

One of my favorite things when I was a little girl was the beautiful and magical sugar eggs that people would have as part of their Easter decor. This card was made specifically with that in mind and I LOVE that all of the dies included in the Golden Egg Die make it possible to recreate that look! I chose to create a shaped card to really focus on that idea!

This Choclate Bunny is facing the other direction, but is identical to the other! Having both dies would also be handy if you're creating a tag or something so you could have it on both sides, or picks for cupcakes, etc. This little bunny is hiding in a nest of Tangled Tulips that were showcased yesterday!

I added glitter, pearls, and gold details {paper and embossing} to bring in the elegance of the sugar eggs. The sentiment is from the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set and is heat embossed in gold and then cut using the Tangled Tulips Die.

This was such a fun card to make and I can't wait to make more using different combinations of flowers, etc.

My last project for today using the Golden Egg suite of products is a 5 by 7 card featuring the Golden Egg Stencil collection! I'm obsessed with the beautiful results and it has an empty space for the largest egg included in the die set.

I used the color combination that was suggested on the back of the stencil package because it's so beautiful and not one I would have used on my own necessarily.

I tucked a few of the new Bigger Botanicals behind the bow and another banner sentiment stamped using the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set.

I'm switching gears from Easter to share a project using a few more of the Bigger Botanicals! I love this larger sentiment included in the Simple Spring Sentiments Stamp Set. I think this card could work well for all kinds of celebrations; new home, baby, new job, retirement, etc!

I made quite a few of these borders and I just love how it looks with the botanicals!

I used wood veneer cardstock for the sentiment and the card base.

My final card for today is probably one of my favorites! It features the DARLING new Silly Goose suite of products! I was lamenting that I wanted to create with the goose theme, but didn't have anything in my stash! Cue this new collection! Yay! My wish came true and now I want to make all the geese things! I grew up when geese donned many a home, including my own childhood home, so it brings with it tenderness and nostalgia!

I used quite a few different products to bring this one to life! To begin, I created the frame with the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die cut from a pretty blue cardstock. I embossed it with the new Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder and then rubbed a white pigment ink pad over the top.

Next, I layered it onto the background that was cut using the Capsule Basics Die from woodgrain cardstock. I also used the Capsule Basics Embossing Folder and then layered the frame over the top. I wanted to add even more detail so I cut the smaller frame using the Capsule Fixed Borders Small Die from white cardstock and then stamped it using the Capsule Collection Valentine Border Stamp Set. This particular look goes perfectly with the geese theme from yesteryear and it makes my heart happy!

Up next is the thin embossed frame; this was created using the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Die and the Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Stamp Set with gold embossing powder. I simply glued it over the other blue frame with liquid glue.

The mat for the cutie-patootie goose was cut from gingham cardstock with some hot foiling using the Capsule Borders 1 Hot Foil and champagne foil.

Once that was done, it was time to get started on the goose! There are a BUNCH of different options to create all kinds of different geese; I chose to use one with a bow around her neck and her cute wellies!

I'm planning on using this as a baby card, so I chose to use the "Mother Goose & Co. sentiment from the Silly Goose Sentiments Stamp Set. I added a few Bigger Botanicals here and there to finish off the card! The Greetery {Spring Jardin Collection Day 1}

Hello and welcome! I'm so happy to be here today sharing full reveals for day 1 of the Spring Jardin Collection from The Greetery! I've fallen head-over-heels in love with the entire collection, and I know you will, too! My first project for today showcases the GORGEOUS new Tangled Tulips suite of products! This suite is similar the the Rosemal Reflections that was released last year! I decided to share something a little bit different using these products than you might have expected. My ancestry on my mom's mom's side is Dutch, so my heart was yearning to do something with a touch of the Netherlands in mind!

To begin, I used the beautiful new Tangled Tulips Stamp + Stencil Combo to create the frame. First, I die cut the frame using the Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die from white cardstock and then did the stenciling. I wanted all different colors of tulips, so I made sure to switch colors as I was stenciling. Once that was done, I used the coordinating stamp to add the greenery. It would be beautiful to just leave it as is, but I wanted to use the new Tangled Tulips Embossing Folder to give it additional depth and dimension.

Once the frame was complete, I got to work on the scene. This was achieved by using the older Rolling Hills Die and the coordinating Rolling Hills Stencil. I also cut the windmill, fence, and houses using the Countryside Die. I assembled it all on the inside portion of the frame (the piece that was leftover from the frame) with some clouds stenciled in the background and a little ink splatter. I had fun adding the buildings and windmill here and there to give it a realistic look. I couldn't resist adding the border that was cut from silver cardstock using the Capsule Filigree Borders Die

The suite includes a Tangled Tulips Detail Die, which is what I used for the tulip clusters near the bottom right and the upper left side. I simply colored it and assembled it as instructed, but then cut it apart to tuck behind the frame. The sentiment, which is included in the Tangled Tulips Stamp Set, is stamped in black and then cut using the banner die from the Tangled Tulips Die. The base of the card is cut using the Capsule Basics Die. I added some glitter for sparkle and shine!

My next card uses the same colors AND the Tangled Tulips Detail Die (this is how the cluster looks intact) along with the DARLING new Shortbread Shapes: Easter embossing folder. I pulled in some of the previously released products to bring this card to life.

To begin, I die cut the nine rectangles using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Die from white cardstock. I colored them with blender brushes an die ink; two of each color with the exception of the pink. I used the main die to cut the base for the rectangles using the same die collection from woodgrain white cardstock. I glued the colored rectangles in place and then used the Shortbread Shapes: Easter embossing folder to give it the dimension. I cut the bottom banner piece using the Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle Label Die. I layered the tulip cluster over the top using foam squares.

The sentiment is from the new Simple Spring Mini Sentiments Stamp Set. I love the font on these sets. There is the larger version as well, but I'm not sharing a card using the larger images until tomorrow, but I'm sure some of the other designers have used them today.

For the base, I used the previously released Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Die along with the Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Embossing Folder.

For my last project, we're heading back to the Netherlands in all its glory! ha ha! I was really wanted to create a card using the Dutch Delft Blue look and the new Shortbread Shapes: Spring Embossing Folder gave me the perfect opportunity! This card was so much fun to make and I hope you all like it whether you're Dutch or not! ha ha!

I love the way the "tiles" look peeking from the stamp/stenciled/embossed frame. I thought this was a good way to showcase a few more ideas for using the Shortbread Shapes. I started off the same way as I did with the previous card, but I colored all of the rectangles the same way and I set one aside to use under the windmill.

You can see the woodgrain texture a bit better on the windmill along with another one of the new Simple Spring Mini Sentiments.

For the frame on this one, I used Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, and Enchanted Evening ink to achieve the Delft blue look.

I used the Tangled Tulips Detail Die for the floral clusters and cut it apart like I did on the first card! I've had a ball creating with this new release! Project Inspiration {Bundle of Joy}

It's my turn for the Project Inspiration feature for Papertrey Ink! My baby card stash is running low and I need to replenish it! I decided to create a baby card for the feature and I was inspired by a set of sugar cookies that popped up in my feed. They were extremely "beige", which I know a lot of moms these days like, so I split the difference and added more color, but kept the beige/greige! haha!

I had a lot of fun working on this card and I will share step-by-step photos and instructions, with a few tips along the way!

Step 1: create a 5 x 7 card base from Vintage Cream cardstock. Cut a Sweet Blush frame using the In Frames: Big & Tall Rectangles Die and adhere it to the base using foam squares.

Step 2: cut the ovalfrom gingham paper and mount it to the card base using foam squares. This particular paper is quite thin, so I actually die cut another oval from a scrap of cardstock and glued the two together before adding it to the base.

Step 3: cut all of the pieces needed for the baby buggy Add some shading around the carriage portion. Glue everything together and adherent to the oval using foam squares. The pink "blanket" hanging down is actually the ruffle included in the In Stitches: Onesie Die. I wanted to incorporate the flower colors a bit more and this was just the ticket.

Step 4: cut and color all of the flowers and foliage using ink and blender brushes. Arrange them around the frame and buggy until you’re satisfied with the arrangement.

Step 5: stamp the sentiment with black ink and cut it out using the Just Tags Die. Attach it to the bottom of the card using foam squares.

Step 6: add glitter to the flowers and leaves and adhesive pearls to the baby buggy.

Sometimes I get intimidated by tiny dies, but I have come up with some timesavers for this particular die set. I love using the tiny little flowers attached to the stem, and I also love cutting everything from white and coloring with ink and blender brushes, but it can be tedious with tiny pieces. I simply color a piece of white cardstock ahead of time with my ink of choice, cut it out with the die and then assemble the tiny flowers. I use a fine-point 2 way glue pen and a gem picker to assemble them together.

I like to use a foam mat and a stylus to create a cupped look on the small flowers and the tiny daisies.

I had a lot of fun working on this card and I'm excited to add it to the stash! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink February Release Countdown Day 4

It's the 4th and final day of the Papertrey Ink February release countdown! I have quite a few projects to share with you today and up first are three cards using the new Into the Blooms: Bag of Blossoms Die.

This is such a fun set featuring the bag base (plus dies to create a dimensional bag, which I didn't use) and a wonderful assortment of flowers and foliage. I can already tell these flowers are going to be used quite a bit, with or without the bag.

I've been feeling like some of my older favorites have been neglected, so I used the beautiful Cover Plate: Ornate Die and Border Bling: Skinny Embossed Frame to create the background. I cut everything from Enchanted Evening cardstock and glued it together using liquid glue. The bag is cut from Fine Linen and Vintage Cream cardstock with a Cocoa Bean handle. My favorite detail is the little gold grommets which are cut from gold cardstock and carefully glued down using a fine-tip Zig 2-Way glue pen. The die leaves small impressions to serve as a guide for placement.

I cut the flowers and foliage from white and then colored them with dye inks and blender brushes. I tucked them here and there until I was satisfied with the arrangement.

The sentiment is from the This is Big Sentiments: Happy Everything which has been getting a workout this release! It really is perfect for almost everything...ha ha!

Since I've been on a roll making cards I don't normally have in my stash, I thought it would be fun to create a shower card. I think this could work for a bridal shower OR a shower for a baby girl. How about you....do you make cards specifically themed for showers? I usually just make a wedding-type card or a baby card for showers, but this was fun to make and I think it will be fun to take to the next shower I'm invited to.

I was getting dinner started and looked down at my kitchen rug and realized the flowers in this set are almost identical to the ones on my rug, so I took that as my inspiration. I had a bit of fun creating different combinations of flowers using the rug as my guide.

This bag features one of the different handle options; this one is a rope style. I also added a bow to give a more feminine look, just perfect for a shower!

I used the In Frames: Big & Tall Rectangles Die as the base for my design. I cut the frame from Scarlet Jewel and the inner portion from Sweet Blush. I layered one of the new Love to Layer: Laced Oval die cuts over the top of the blush panel using liquid glue and then had fun adding the bag and flowers.

I used one of the other "happy" options stamped in black with a gold embossed companion sentiment. I slipped it through the loop in the Y for a playful look.

I added some black ink splatter, making sure to cover up the bag and flowers with a post-it note, and some gold photo corners. A touch of glitter finishes off this card.

As I mentioned earlier, these flowers are so beautiful, I decided to use them to accent the smaller laced oval cut from glitter cardstock.

To begin, I used the new Filigree Frame Hot Foil Plate with champagne foil on a panel of Lilac Grace cardstock. I rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch and added a touch of Lilac Grace ink around the corners. I used the Love to Layer: Rectangles Die for the background to add the oval. I added some speckled egg distress oxide ink to the center and some additional splatter.

I arranged the flowers and leaves along with a bow, because I just love them. The sentiment, which is from the Such a Treasure Stamp Set that was showcased on day 1, is stamped in Weathervane cardstock.

I can't seem to stop with the pearls, so I added a few of those as well along with some glitter on the flowers and leaves.

My final card for today AND for the release countdown features the cute new Build-an-Emoji Die and once again, the new This is Big Sentiments: Happy Everything! This sentiment set already feels like an old favorite because it has been used so much over the past few days! I love all of the companion sentiments to accent "happy"! There are also two smaller images that say "happy" and "happily", but I haven't use those yet!

To begin this card, I cut strips of Pure Poppy, Hibiscus Burst, Pale Peony, Lemon Tart, Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Spring Rain, and Hawaiian Shores cardstock. I adhered them to a scrap of typing paper and then cut it using the In Frames: Big & Tall Rectangles. I only used the outer frame, as you can see, but I have the center portion to use for another project.

I cut all of the pieces I needed for the two emojis and then got to work assembling them. I wanted to add Glossy Accents and glitter to the sunglasses, so I cut them out 4 times (2 per emoji) and glued them together. I added the Glossy Accents carefully and then sprinkled glitter over the top and set them aside to dry.

I added some Harvest Gold ink around the edges of the circles. I cut the teeth from white and added some Aqua Mist ink at the corners for some added shading and detail. I set all of that aside so I could work on the sentiment.

Before I added anything to the card base, I stamped the "looks good on you" portion of the sentiment in black and then added the "happy" portion using foam squares. It is stamped once, but stacked onto two other diecuts for a sturdy piece. Once the glasses were dry, I added them to the circles using foam squares, along with the teeth. I adhered them using double-thick foam squares so they would pop up further than the frame. I toyed around with making a shaker card and in the end nixed the idea because I didn't want to use that many sprinkles, sequins, fillers, etc. so I opted to just add a variety of sizes across the front of the card to give it some playfulness.

Papertrey Ink February Release Countdown Day 3

I can't believe we're already halfway through the February release countdown! It's been so fun to cozy up and create with this fabulous new release! I've created a few cards for my stash with themes I haven't had in the past, so that's always fun, too!

My first card for today showcases the new Reflections: Hebrews 11 Stamp/Die set. I always enjoy adding flowers to these types of cards and this one is no exception. I had prepared this background in hopes of using it on my Wrapped in Love card that I shared yesterday, but it was too busy for the card and it was just waiting to be used. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity, so it does have the same color combo as yesterday's card.

I used the Ornamental Swirl Hot Foil Plate with blush foil on an A2 panel of Berry Sorbet cardstock. I trimmed it down to measure 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches and added it to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.

I stamped and die cut the verse using the Reflections: Hebrews 11 stamp in black ink. The mat pieces are cut using the Reflections: Hebrews 11 Die and I cut the smaller one from Sweet Blush with Pale Peony ink shading and the other one is Berry Sorbet with the same ink shading. I used foam squares on each of the layers and added it to the background.

The flower/leaf pieces are all cut from white cardstock with the exception of the centers; those are cut from gold. I used the Into the Blooms: Anemones Die which is a favorite of mine. I colored everything with dye ink and then assembled the blooms using liquid glue and foam squares. I had fun arranging them around the verse. The "berries" are gems and I also added some gems to the centers of the flowers as well. I did this the first time I used these flowers and every time since! ha ha! I also added some glitter for some additional sparkle and shine. I love this verse and this card will be useful for so many different occasions!

My second card for today features the new Floral Confections Stamp/Die set. I paired it with a few other new things that have been showcased over the last few days!

This is a cute new set with a coordinating stencil collection so you can add designs to the cupcake liners; I chose to use the striped stencil.

I used the new Love to Layer: Lacey Ovals Die and the new Filigree Frame Hot Foil Plate to add extra detail, sparkle, and shine.

There are a few different options for the floral "frosting" included in the set. I chose to use one of the floral clusters and the leaf topper. I also added some other leaves included in the set. There are some floral clusters included in the set for even more versatility; I stamped some out, but didn't use them in the end.

I added some pearls to the flowers on the cupcake and around the foiled design. I also added a glittery bow to the cupcake. I had originally put the bow together to possibly use on one of my cards on day 1, but I didn't end up using it. I love how it gives this cupcake another level of feminine charm! I also thought this sentiment was the perfect choice to complement the floral cupcake!

Papertrey Ink February Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey Ink February release countdown! I have two more cards to share with you today and up first is a fun and playful card using the new Build-an-Emoji Die! This die is packed with all of the pieces you would need to create so many of our favorite emojis, including the heart eyes emoji, which is a personal favorite!

This set pairs perfectly with the new This is Big Sentiments: Happy Everything that was featured yesterday!

To begin this card, I created the emoji first. The circle is cut from Lemon Tart cardstock and then I added some Harvest Gold ink around the edges for depth. The mouth is cut from Smokey Shadow with True Black ink on the corners. The tongue is cut from Berry Sorbet with Pure Poppy shading. I cut the eyes from Pure Poppy with Scarlet Jewel shading, Glossy Accents and glitter over the top for that dramatic effect!

The background was created with the From the Heart Hot Foil Plate and red foil on a panel of Pure Poppy cardstock. I cut it down to measure 5 by 3 3/4 inches and added some Scarlet Jewel shading around the edges.

The sentiment was stamped in Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel for an ombre effect with white embossing on Smokey Shadow cardstock for the other portions.

I layered it onto an A2 panel of Pure Poppy cardstock using foam squares and then added the entire panel to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue.

Switching gears to something more traditional; this card features the new Wrapped in Love stamp set.

This set includes three gifts, a ribbon, and a bow with three different coordinating sentiments to work with the "wrapped" theme.

I always love a pink and green color combo, but I switched it up a bit with Berry Sorbet, Mint Julep, and Vintage Jadeite, and a touch of SU! Garden Green ink for something a little bit different for me.

The bow reminds me of old-fashioned ribbon candy and I was wishing to be back in my Grandma's home at Christmastime!

For the background, I used the new Filigree Frame Hot Foil Plate that was featured yesterday on an A2 panel of Berry Sorbet cardstock. I was thrilled to see how nicely the largest die included in the Love to Layer: Garnished Edges Die nested inside the foiling. It was also the perfect backdrop for the stack of presents.

Each of the three sentiments also has a coordinating die so it's easy to add the sentiments on your design. I chose to place this larger sentiment in the middle and then surrounded it with some die cut flowers.

I added some white goache splatter and gems for additional detail and dimension. I forgot to mention that the background was also die cut using the Nesting Basics: Pierced Rectangles Die as well. Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink February Release Countdown Day 1

It's been quite awhile since I've participated in the Papertrey Ink release! I took December off and then there wasn't a release in January, so it feels good to be back for day 1 of the February release countdown! Between sewing, stitching, and other creative projects, it's also been awhile since I've sat down to make cards!

My first card for today features a lovely new set called Such a Treasure. I love how easy it is to create these beautifully detailed roses in two easy steps. There is stem/leaf images, but I chose to use the die cut leaves included in the Into the Blooms: Roses die to create a cluster of flowers rather than stems. The other designers are showing the stems, so there will be a lot of inspiration with those!

The Such a Treasure stamp set features this large oval frame, which I stamped in blue, and frames the flowers beautifully. I've also used the new Love to Layer: Laced Ovals Die to add another layer of detail and interest.

I can already tell the lacy frames will be my go-to choice for creating romantic and vintage projects! This is the smaller of the two; the larger one is more the size of the blue frame.

The new stamp set also features this beautiful friend sentiment and then a few other companion sentiments.

I decided to try doing some hot foiling on pattern paper and I love how it turned out! I used the Merry Motifs Hot Foil Plate with champagne foil on a panel of blue gingham pattern paper. I layered it onto the beautiful Border Bling: Scalloped Frame Die to give that cute edge.

I layered everything up in the middle using liquid glue and foam squares. I added a few pearls to the corners of the foiled design for added detail and interest.

My next card is a fun and whimsical card inspired by one of my favorite Disney movies: Up! This card features the new This is Big Sentiments: Happy Everything and the new Uplifted by Nature Die set. The first time I looked at all of the sentiments included in the new Happy Everything stamp set, I thought to myself, "You NEVER make retirement cards!" I didn't set out to make one, but with the combination of the balloons, and idea was born!

To begin, I turned on Up! and got to work! ha ha! It was fun to have on in the background as I worked! I die cut all of the pieces I would need for the balloons and got to work coloring them. I used dye inks and different distress spritzes, sprays, and stains; no rhyme or reason, but mostly depended on which variety I had with the right colors!

I knew the cute house from Home is Where the Heart Is Die would be the right scale for the balloons, so I got to work cutting and coloring the house. This was part of the December release that I didn't participate in, so it was fun to use this house!

I adhered all of the balloons strings to the balloons simply by attaching a foam square to the back over the strip and then I gathered them all up in a cluster around where the chimney is and then secured them behind the house.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself. I couldn't do any of that until I got the stenciling and foiling done on the background. I knew my card would need to be a larger size, so the In Frames: Big and Tall Rectangles Die came in VERY handy! I used the stencils that are included in the Elegant Notes Stationery Kit for the corners and then carefully figured out placement for the foiled design. This is the new Filigree Frame Hot Foil Plate and I'm obsessed! I foiled it with champagne foil and then placed the house and balloons in the center.

I did some light stenciling on the frame portion using the new Dotted Diamonds Stencil Collection. Most of the other designers are showcasing this fully so you can see it on a full panel, but I chose to add it on the frame for a hint of detail since I had to proceed with my vision! ha ha! The sentiment is from the new This is Big Sentiments: Happy Everything and it really does have so many sentiments for so many occasions! I also added a sentiment to the inside from the Inside Greetings: Established Stamp Set, but I didn't take a picture. I'm trying to be more intentional about finishing the inside before I move on to a new project. I have found that I'm usually in a rush when it comes time to actually use a card and I don't have time to be rummaging around looking for a suitable sentiment for the inside! I really love how this turned out and now all I need is for someone to retire! ha ha!

The Greetery {Winter Crafting Olympics}

Hello and welcome! I'm popping in today to share a fun wintery project using both old and new products from The Greetery! I’m so excited the Olympic Winter Games are this month and I’ve had card ideas on the brain using that theme! My card features the darling penguin and I couldn’t resist trying another little pocket/pouch idea like I did for the Amour Market Collection release! So, I’ve got the ski theme with the card, and the Après Ski theme with the pocket/pouch {snuggle up with a cup of cocoa after an afternoon on the slopes}! This pouch is a little bit roomier so you could add a few packets of hot cocoa to the inside and even some marshmallows if they are the smaller size or the freeze-dried variety.

For the card, I couldn’t resist using the new Shortbread Shapes: Scalloped Hearts Die and coordinating embossing folder. Now, you might be thinking to yourself: why didn’t she use the snowflake edition? I totally get why you’d wonder, BUT I really liked the scalloped opening of the one I used, so that was the winner. However, both would work just fine! I cut it from Spring Rain cardstock and then did the embossing.

Once that was done, I added some uncharted mariner distress oxide ink over the raised portions using a sponge dauber. I set it aside and got to work on the background. I simply cut another panel using the main die included in the Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts die from white cardstock and then added the stenciling using the Snowflake Prints Stencil and Spring Rain ink. I added some uncharted mariner ink splatter for a snowy look.

Next, I created the penguin using the darling Hey Honeycomb Penguin Die. I wanted to showcase the card with the white honeycomb open, but you could definitely leave it closed so you can mail it and add images from the Hey Honeycomb Holiday Stamp Set. There are some sentiments that would work perfectly for this particular card. I added Glossy Accents to the eyes, beak, and feet for a shiny look. I set this cutie aside so it could dry.

I knew I was going to be using the Cocoa Cozy Stamp Set for the pocket/pouch, so I decided to cut and stamp a few of the snowflakes that are included in the set to use on the card. I also created some snowdrifts using the Drifting Die and the skis are created using the Holiday Hatchback Die. I think these are just the cutest thing and I can envision this cute penguin descending the slopes in the skis! Ha ha!

Once I had all of the pieces ready to go, I added them to the background using foam squares for dimension. I also added a cute bow to the top using the Regency Bow No. 2 Die along with the sentiment, which is from the Christmas Time Sentiments Stamp Set and die. I added some Snow flock to the entire card front along with some glitter and sparkle gems to the snowflakes and the holly on the penguin. The holly is cut using the Ornamental Tag Die and adds the perfect arctic charm to this cutie!

The pouch was created by adding some strategically placed score lines to the panel that was cut and embossed using the same supplies as the card.

I folded it along the score lines and then added a little clothespin to the top to keep it closed. You could use ribbon or any other type of fastener, depending on your preferences.

As I mentioned earlier, I knew I would be using the Cocoa Cozy stamp/die set for this project, so I cut all of the pieces I would need and then added the color using sponge daubers. I love adding the embossed details to the mittens using the Winter Mitts Embossing Folder.

I needed a landing spot for the “hugs and cocoa mugs” sentiment, so I cut the smallest Oblong Octagon Labels Die to stamp it on. Once that was done, I simply added everything to the pouch using foam squares and liquid glue. I added some Candy Crumble Mix to the cocoa for some chocolatey goodness! I had so much fun working on these two projects and I’m crossing my fingers I’ll find some additional time to create a few more festive cards to celebrate the Olympic Winter Games! A Grand Adventure {Winnie the Pooh} Baby Boy Gift Ensemble

Hello friends! As promised, here is the BIG post with ALL of the baby things I've been working on for the last few weeks! There was a sweet new baby boy born in the neighborhood in December, so after the holidays were over, my daughter and I headed to our favorite fabric/quilt shop to look for fabric to make her some gifts. We were coming up empty, but then tucked in a random bottom shelf was this cute Winnie the Pooh fabric by Echo Park and manufactured by Riley Blake. It seems like it was either really popular or not very new, so there wasn't a huge selection left. I pulled the fabrics from the line I wanted to use and then we went around the shop to find some of the "filler" fabrics.

An unexpected delight is Echo Park is obviously a paper/stamp manufacturer more than fabric, so I was BEYOND THRILLED to discover there was matching pattern paper and stamps. I decided since there is so much to share, I will just put them in the order that I made them, which might not make a lot of sense, but it will for me! ha ha!

Now, I mentioned there was a sweet baby boy born and THAT is what took me to the fabric store, but not long after, I got invited to a baby shower for another cute new mom in the neighborhood so that meant I was making double of a few things! Keep that in mind when I show two of certain things....ha ha! If you're interested in reading about the cards I made, you can find that information HERE. The Winnie the Pooh dies are NOT from Echo Park, but you can read all about it on that post.

Up first are a pair of baby booties; unfortunately the baby shower baby got the shoes, because I didn't have enough time to make another pair. These were made using the ADORABLE Baby Bootie Die (unfortunately retired) using Classic Kraft Felt for the main shoe and then Dark Chocolate Felt for the details.

I went to look at other pairs I have made in the past to remember which combinations I like best and I came across a comment from someone asking about trouble-shooting on a few things. This commenter asked about not having the holes punch out cleanly. It is REALLY important to punch the holes out of the die after each use. I didn't realize this back when I was first making them so I have seen what happens if you do and if you DON'T! ha ha!

Another thing that I have found that ensures better results is to use the small end of a stylus to punch EVERY hole out of the felt once it's been cut. This will help you get even stitches and not miss any as you're going along.

I also like to use Fray Check on the knots so they will be secure as they are taken on and off the baby! I like to use three strands of DMC floss to achieve this look. You can do more if you like, but I wouldn't recommend less.

I like to package up the booties in clear cube boxes. For this particular pair, I added a red gingham ribbon and a sticker that is included in the Echo Park Winnie the Pooh Collection 12 by 12 Kit. I love the sentiment; Let's wander together to accent the shoes! If you want to see other booties I have made in the past, you can check those out HERE.

Next up is the bib! This is one of my go-t0 handmade baby items and you can see some of the different ones I've made over the years HERE

I had a bit of fun with the tag since I had the matching Echo Park Winnie the Pooh Stamp Set. It actually came in VERY handy for a few different things that I will be sharing.

Super simple stamping, but it kept the whole ensemble cohesive and had that cute boutique feel to it!

Next up are the ties and the quilt! I started cutting the pieces for the quilt after I made the bib and got to work sewing, while also working on the ties. I have either thrown away or misplaced my FAVORITE tie pattern, so I had to make-shift a new one and I'm just so sad!

I forgot how wonky pictures of fabric turn out; particularly the stripes! This is the main portion of the quilt, but I will show the yellow border and binding a little further on!

The Winnie the Pooh sentiment came in SO handy for making these ties look boutique-y!

I made two binky clips and added them to the capsule die that was leftover from the card I made! ha ha!

I ended up liking the gingham paper better to package the binky clip. I also added some additional stitches to this one to see if I like it.

Next up are the two "Baby's First Year" mini-albums that are always a nice addition to any baby gift! Normally I have been making this on a ring, like I featured in THIS post, but I decided to make one of these cute (and actually easy to make) tiny albums.

I used the pattern paper and the heavy-weight stickers that are included with the paper pack that were just the perfect touch! Both of these things made this project so much faster and easier. If this was the ONLY gift I was giving, I definitely would have made it more detailed.

To make these books, I use the backer that used to come in the SU! 12 by 12 paper packs. I still have quite a few of those, so I dug through the stash and trimmed it down to suit my needs. For scale, this is about 4 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches; just the right size for a picture or two and then the information about baby that particular month. I use my guillotine trimmer to cut the heavy cardboard and then score it and fold it with my bone folder. Once that's done, I add the paper over the top using adhesive in strategic places so it won't gum up my sewing machine needle. I add eyelets through the pages (double-sided paper is the perfect thing so both sides have a pattern, but different designs) and the spine of the album and then secure with ribbon.

The opening page has a place to write statistics.

Each month has a page like this to keep quick and easy track of baby's milestones. I have a file for this is you're interested!!

You can see the machine stitching around the perimeter with some zig-zag stitching down the side.

Even though the stickers are sturdy, I did add some liquid glue behind each one to ensure security.

I had so much fun working on the quilt in between the other projects. I know I keep saying it, but i just love how I had the paper and fabric to match!

I was hoping my friend could do the quilting, but her long-arm is in the shop, so it was up to me to add some quick stippling. In the end, it actually looks like dripping honey, so I thought it was very fitting! ha ha!

My daughter was holding up the quilt for me so I could snap a few quick pictures....I was literally working on this the day of the shower! eek! Anyway, she told me not to have "any of HER showing", so I used my editing removal tool and it made the left hand side of the quilt/photo look wonky with it's "fill-in tool" so just ignore that! ha ha!

I think I've mentioned it before, but my latest favorite way to package up a baby gift is in a small suitcase. I chose a red one as I'm sure you noticed in the photos at the beginning of today's post!

This suitcase is bursting at the seams and then I wrapped it all up in cellophane and attached the card to the outside. If I had more time, I definitely would have enjoyed making a tag with those cute dies I used on the cards!

A Grand Adventure {Deep in the Hundred-Acre Wood}

Hello friends! I've been "deep in the hundred acre wood" so-to-speak! ha ha! I've been having the best time making all kinds of Winnie the Pooh things for a few new moms and their darling babies! I've been sewing and stamping/paper crafting up a storm so I have a lot to share, but for today, I will only be sharing the two cards I made for each of the moms. I still have a bajillion photos to edit with each of the items I created, so stay tuned!

As a family, we have really enjoyed visiting Disneyland and we absolutely adore Critter Country, so these two cards were created with that look in mind, and of course, classic Pooh as well! My oldest son's nursery was decorated in Classic Pooh and that particular year, there was a layette line with Classic Pooh clothes as well, so this all tugs at my heartstrings!

I made this card first, so it has a lot of flowers and leaves that are cut using the beautiful Into the Blooms: Wild Wood Die. I cut everything from white cardstock and then colored the pieces using dye inks and blender brushes. The greenery was spritzed with Mowed Lawn Distress Spritz and set aside to dry.

Next, I got to work on the frames; this is a beautiful combination of dies that Betsy used for Christmas and I have been loving it and using it every chance I get! I cut the top layer using the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake Die from wood veneer cardstock and then embossed it using the Shortbread Shapes: Snowflake Embossing Folder. I cut the next layer using the same die, but from woodgrain cardstock. Once that was done, I cut the capsule opening using the Capsule Basics Die and then embossed it using the Rosemal Reflections Embossing Folder. I added some walnut stain distress oxide ink over the raised areas to add depth and added color. I glued them onto a shaped card base and then got to work on the critters.

I die cut all of the pieces for Pooh and Piglet using the Spellbinders Say Cheese Classic Pooh Collection Pooh and Piglet. I used colored cardstock; Harvest Gold for Pooh with added ink for shading and depth. Piglet is cut from Sweet Blush cardstock with an Ocean Tides onesie and Pinefeather scarf. I glued everything together using liquid glue and foam squares. I wanted them to be holding hands so I glued them together in that arrangement.

This particular sentiment is absolutely PERFECT for baby cards and it really is the theme of all the projects I made for both mommas and babies. It is included in the Echo Park Winnie the Pooh Stamp Set. I was thrilled to find that this stamp set and coordinating paper are from the same designer as the fabric I bought for all of the sewn projects that I'll be sharing soon! It allowed me to keep everything cohesive and coordinated!

I stamped it in walnut stain distress oxide ink on a piece of gingham paper and then added that to the middle of the frames. Once that was done, I was able to add Pooh and Piglet with foam squares.

I arranged all of the flowers, leaves, and bees around the frame using liquid glue and foam squares. I really love how this sweet card came together!

As I mentioned earlier, I made the previous card first, so it got the majority of the flowers and leaves, so I kept this one a bit more simple. I was beyond thrilled to find that the sentiment fit perfectly inside the balloon!

I cut the balloon from Pure Poppy cardstock and then stamped the sentiment with white pigment ink. I added some Scarlet Jewel around the edges, which in hindsight, I should have done that BEFORE I stamped the sentiment!

I used blue gingham for this card and added a filigree border cut from Vintage Cream cardstock and secured with liquid glue. I was able to layer Pooh and the balloon using foam squares for dimension.

The base for this card was cut using the Capsule Basics (linked earlier) and then embossed using the Capsule Basics Embossing Folder with the Rosemal frame. I cut it using the new Capsule Fixed Borders Large Die and added it with liquid glue.

I added the remaining flowers and leaves using liquid glue and foam squares.

This was such a fun project to work on and I can't wait to share everything else with you soon! It's overwhelming, so let me know if you'd like it broken up into multiple blog posts, or just all at once in a BIG post! Thanks for fluttering by!

Project Inspiration and a WINNER!

Hello and welcome, friends! I'm here today sharing an Easter card for this week's Project Inspiration and announcing the winner of my giveaway from last week!

I'm still in Valentine's Day mode, but it's never too early to get started on those cards for special holidays and occasions! Follow along as I give step-by-step instructions on how to create this Easter design!

Step 1: Use the Fresh Greens Hot Foil Plate on a panel of Lilac Grace cardstock using champagne foil. Trim it down to slightly smaller than an A2 size.

Step 2: Cut the bow portion using the Wrap-it Ribbons Die from Lemon Tart cardstock and attach to the background using foam squares. Stamp the sentiment, which is from the Just Sentiments: Easter mini stamp set, in black at the bottom.

Step 3: Cut the egg using the Spring Silhouette Die from white cardstock and then add speckled egg distress oxide ink with a blender brush. I keep a set just for oxide inks rather than switching between dye ink and oxide ink. Add some speckled egg splatter and then add some walnut stain distress oxide spray (just a hint). Attach it with foam squares.

Step 4: Cut the bunny and foliage using the same Spring Silhouette Die (linked above) and then flowers from the Into the Blooms: Wreath Die from white cardstock. Add ink using blender brushes and glue together. Attach them around the egg using both liquid glue and foam squares.

Step 5: Heat emboss the "He is Risen" sentiment in gold onto a strip of vellum (stamp set linked in step 2). Wrap it around the background and secure it on the back with clear tape.

Step 6: Attach the background to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. Add glitter to the flowers and foliage and a trio of sparkling clear sequins to finish it off.

I really love how this card turned out and I will add it to my stash of Easter cards! I never got them all sent out last year, so my stash is already quite nice! ha ha!

I used a black Sharpie marker to color the eye of the rabbit. You might notice that he did a little hop from one point to the other between process photos (ha ha!). I decided I liked him a little bit lower by the flowers!

This design would also make a lovely spring card as well. Sometimes Easter comes before I get everything sent out (as I mentioned earlier) so sometimes it's nice to have spring cards as well so they can be given after Easter and it's not odd.

The Greetery {Amour Market Collection Release Day and Giveaway)

It's the day we've been waiting for; it's release day for the beautiful new Amour Market Collection from The Greetery! Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments the last few days! The collection will be available for purchase beginning at 10 am ET today! Before I dive in to the details of the card, I am doing a little giveaway! I’ve posted the details of the giveaway at the bottom of today’s post!

I wanted to create another card for today using the logo imagery for this release, but with different colors. I saved a cute Christmas house I was hoping to use as inspiration, but never got around to it, so I used it for this project instead. Quite a few of my daughter's Valentine's Day outfits when she was younger were these colors, so it reminds me of those days.

To begin this card, I cut all of the pieces for the buildings using the Market Place Mini Die using Pale Peony, Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy, and Spring Rain. I did use silver cardstock for some of the window frames. I glued everything together with liquid glue and let it dry.

I had some of the wreaths leftover from my projects the other day, but I did cut more bows and a few other additions using the Market Place Lover's Lane Die. I also stamped one of the shop names from the Market Place Lover's Lane Stamp Set to add to the shops.

The sentiment is stamped using the French Kiss Stamp Set in Pure Poppy and a touch of Scarlet Jewel ink around the edges for an ombre look. I die cut it using the French Kiss Die.

The "with love" portion of the sentiment is also from that same set and is embossed in gold on a strip of Enchanted Evening cardstock. I used the new Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts Die and embossing folder for the background and the frame around the buildings.

Before I added the frame over the top, I added some white gouache and glitter for a snowy, sugary look.

I added some red pearl embellishments to the bows and hearts for added detail.

The bow at the top is cut from Pure Poppy cardstock and is included with the Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts Die.

The Greetery {Amour Market Collection Day 2}

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the Amour Market Collection from The Greetery! I'm so excited to share my projects with you today showcasing even more beautiful new products! I never put away the two Christmas releases and I don't plan on putting this one away anytime soon, either! Each and every piece can be used in so many different ways other than Valentine's Day, with the exception of some of the sentiments! Before I dive in, make sure to head to The Greetery Blog for the official "meet and greet"! Also, you'll want to leave a comment here, and on each of the designers' blogs, to be eligible to win one of two $50 gift cards to the shop.

My first card for today uses a few things from yesterday along with some new things and of course some of the basics that are just too good not to keep using! To begin this card, I heat embossed the new Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition in gold on a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock and then cut it using the coordinating Sweetest Frames Capsule Edition Die. I then used the new Capsule Fixed Border Small to cut the frame that's layered on top of the embossed panel. I cut it from Vintage Cream and then stamped it with the new Capsule Collection Valentine Borders Stamp Set. When I was talking about the Fixed Borders yesterday, I mentioned the smaller one and it is perfect for all of the stamp sets in this series! I can't wait to go back and revisit some of the previously released sets to try it with this frame.

I added that stamped frame using foam squares and then nestled the heat embossed red panel down inside and secured it with adhesive. The next step was the heart; I already had it cut and embossed from my big projects that I shared yesterday. I used brighter gold cardstock to cut the Heart Filigree Border and glued it using liquid glue. I also heat embossed the sentiment from the Capsule collection valentine Borders Stamp Set in the oval on the heart.

I layered it using foam squares and then tucked the flowers underneath using liquid glue.

The background was cut using the new Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts Die and embossing folder. I rubbed some gold pigment ink over the top to give it some added detail. The bow die is also included in the die collection, so I cut it from the same gold as what I used on the heart and adhered it with liquid glue and a pearl.

The Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Hearts can also be used in non-valentines ways as well. I've been working on a quilt as one of my after-Christmas projects so I've had squares, grids, and quilting designs on the brain so when I saw the new edition to the Shortbread Shapes family, I wanted to turn it into a quilt card!

The first step was to pick some pattern paper that looked like fabric, or that coordinated well together for the look I was going for. I almost scrapped the whole idea because I was struggling to find the right thing, but I finally landed on some paper from K & Company paper pad called Classic K Bailey 12 by 12 that I've had for a bajillion years!

I used the Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Die to cut out all of the individual squares; there is only one that actually cuts out, so I just used that one for all of the squares. I also used it to cut the grid out from Vintage Cream cardstock. I adhered the patterned squares in a good arrangement and then used the Shortbread Shapes Rectangle Hearts Embossing Folder to "quilt" it!

I cut the "binding" from the red pattern paper I used on the quilt to give it a good border. Once that was done, I got to work on the rest of the details. I pulled out the beloved Sew Vintage Die to create the sewing machine. I stamped the details with Gold pigment ink for a realistic look.

I also had some fun creating a few more elements for the card using the Notionable Die. I made some scissors from Rose Gold Mirror cardstock and I was so sad they didn't end up looking good on the card! Oh well...looks like another project is in order! wink!

I chose the sentiment to really pull the "love" theme together from the Sew Vintage Stamp Set. I forgot to mention it is the same stamp set used to stamp the sewing machine. The entire "quilt" portion is adhered to a background that was embossed using the same paper as the sentiment and the Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts embossing folder.

My third and final card for today features the Shortbread Shapes Scalloped Hearts Die and embossing folder as an actual shortbread card! ha ha! took me long enough! I had so much fun with this card and I adore the new French Kiss sentiments; the font is so vintage and beautiful!

As you can see, I used another Coquette Heart because I just can't seem to stop! I also used another bouquet of flowers, but this one done up in pinks and corals.

I added some Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink to the base and some Antique Linen ink to the shortbread portion.

The rest is pretty self-explanatory because I have used all of these products so much! haha!
