Bidding Farewell - Hostel

Dear All

There are some days which are just difficult to forget and 10th Feb’12 was one of such days. Our school hostel celebrated the hostel farewell that Friday! It was a beautiful evening, saying a Goodbye to all the twelthies in the hostel. Almost all the students in the hostel contributed to the occasion.

Initially all the students in classes 12th and 10th were blessed for their approaching exams. Subsequently, Principal Sir Sh. H. R. Sharma and Vice-Principal Maám Mrs. Uma Mudgal lighted the lamp and inaugurated the programme. It was followed by a song ‘Neele neele aasman main tu hai’, welcoming the guests of the evening. This was followed by a wonderful orchestra which made the surroundings all the more musical. Then Swati from the girls’ hostel sang a beautiful solo song “Hum rahain ya naa rahain”. Now, the titles! All the twelthies and tenthies in the hostel were gifted and assigned with separate titles...After that, Ravish Malik; the head boy of the boys’ hostel addressed the people. A group of young boys performed an amusing dance and then the girls banged the dance floor! They danced beautifully and boomed the audience with lots of enthusiasm. Keerti; the head girl of the girls’ hostel inspired the audience with her eloquent speech. And then, “Rasht Ghosthi”! A remarkable play; was the most cherished part of the evening. It was complete entertainment with a rousing morality.

Principal Sir addressed the crowd with his golden words full of love and prudence. And at last but not the least, everyone enjoyed the dinner, chatted amongst themselves and clicked pictures.

Summing it all up, the return makes one love the farewell.

Various events held in Primary Department

Dear All

The primary department of CRPF Public School, Rohini recently organized various events for the students in class III - V.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Students of Primary Department presented a special assembly on the occasion of Republic Day. Filled with the feeling of patriotism, class IV children started with the patriotic song followed by informative speech on how India got republic. Class III children portrayed the freedom fighters like Netaji Subhash Chander Bose, Bhagat Singh, Sarojini Naidu in their respective dresses. This was followed by a collective talk by three students on the making of constitution.

To refresh the memories of the past students of class V made a presentation on famous Historical monuments such as palaces, forts, temples of India which also included world heritage sites like Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Sun Temple, Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar.

Students used placards to explain each monument, showing various structures, inside the fort or monument. The king or people who built them they also narrated the story or event behind the building of such monuments. The presentation gave an insight into the life of people, their culture and traditions of our past generations. They also stressed the need to preserve our historical monuments suggested ways to do so children browsed the net.

Class V children presented their heritage project on various historical monuments of India. They collected the very rare pictures and presented the most informative data available to them. Children browsed the net, went through various books in the library and did a lot of effort to make this project a success! Our Principal Sir Mr. H. R. Sharma praised the students and inspired them to become good citizens of India.

YOUNG SCIENTIST

On 6.2.12 an exhibition ‘Young scientist’ organized by Primary Department was held where students of class IV and V showcased a wide range of experiments on water(floating and sinking’s), air pressure, friction , light(reflection , refraction ) etc. The purpose of this exhibition was to arouse curiosity in young minds about their environment and to give a platform to learn from each other and satisfy their thirst of knowledge. The exhibition helped children to do things with their hands and enhance their scientific skills of observation, recording data, drawing, inferences exploring, investigating and asking questions.

The efforts done by the children and teachers were appreciated by all.

EVS FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

On 07.02.12 , a fancy dress competition was organized for class III students. Children participated in it with full enthusiasm, confidence and conviction. Ms. Anuradha (TGT Biology) and Ms. Jyotsna Kapoor (Pre-primary department) judged this event. The theme of this competition was “Save Environment, Save Earth”. Children came dressed up as mother earth, air pollution, plastic boy, river Yamuna, trees etc and through their performance tried to generate awareness among the audience to generate awareness among the audience about various environmental problems. They made about everyone rethink about the way we are playing with the environment and spoiling the delicate ecological balance through our actions. They also gave suggestions and valuable tips about ways to save the precious environment. The competition proved to be a great success and all the participants were hugely appreciated for their efforts by everyone.

A special invitation being sent to all our dear class XII students, on the occasion of “FAREWELL” on 15 February 2012 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school premises. Kindly be there on time and make it an occasion to remember for your lifetime.

It is also to invite XII students for the HAWAN to render good wishes for their forthcoming board examinations at 8:00 am (normal school time) on 18 February 2012. After the Hawan, students can collect their Admit Cards after getting clearance from all the departments.

Primary Department Organised an Exhibition

Dear All

The primary department of CRPF Public School, Rohini recently organized an exhibition on 31^st Jan related to activities and projects done in EVS and Maths.

The EVS exhibition revolved around the theme of ‘Shelters’- materials used in buildings, people involved in the process of building the structures ( from designing to construction and finishing) and models of different types of buildings. Students of Class III explained about the materials like cement, marble, tiles, iron etc. required during the construction of buildings .Class IV students dressed up like architect, mason, laborers etc and threw light upon the importance of these people in making such beautiful structures a reality. Models of different types of houses (Stilt house, houseboat, tent house, multi-storied buildings etc) made by class V students were also showcased.

Maths exhibition encompassed two major themes-‘3-D shapes’ and ‘Measurement’. Students of class V participated in 3-D model making competition on 21^st January where they were required to use readily available 3-D boxes/shapes and make interesting models. Selected models were part of this exhibition and reflected their creativity and imagination. Students were engaged in Jodo Pipe activities while learning about 3-D shapes in class V (part of Math Lab Activities). Various 3-D shapes learnt by students during this activity viz tetrahedron, cube, prisms, pyramids, dodecahedron, icosahedrons etc were also shown there. Another feature which was included in the display was the ‘Measurement Project’ done in classes III-V, involving various activities related to measurement of time, money, height, area and perimeter. This exhibition was the culmination of ongoing activities during Dec-Jan and a great learning experience for all.

HOW TO HANDLE STRESS OF EXAMINATION

Dear all

March is almost here. And so is the the dreaded EXAM SEASON. While the levels of tension, stress and frustration are on an all time high, no one can deny the immense power of a simple smile and a simple 'Good luck. I know you'll do well" in curbing the exam stress! There isn't a way out of these desperate days. And there isn't really a short cut either. But the best part is that each one of us will always get to see a smiling face and will get to hear an enthusiastic 'All the best' from someone at some moment.

HOW TO HANDLE STRESS OF EXAMINATION

Transient feeling of anxiety and stress is a part of life for every individual. A mild degree of anxiety and stress may be stimulating and motivating, and may actually help to improve the performance; but high degree of stress may be disrupting. Examinations and interviews are undoubtedly stressful situations. Every child goes through such situation and learns to cope up with stress arising out of them, with experience and advancing age.

The coping strategies are partly inherent qualities and also learnt by observation of the parents or parent figures.

Appearing for examinations is one of the very common situations, which an adolescent finds difficult to cope up with. A hard working adolescent with good intelligence may not be able to give his full performance in an examination. An adolescent may avoid an examination or may not be able to write the answers, though he/she knows them. An anxiety may disable and affect performance of an adolescent in an examination.

Right approach and right coping strategies may stimulate an a child to overcome anxiety and maximize own performance in the examination. Minimal anxiety enables an individual adolescent to be more alert, attentive and concentrate fully in an examination.

High degree of anxiety interferes with performance not only in the examination room but perhaps even more in the preparation of examination.

There is no remedy if the student has not put up organized, and/or sufficient efforts and not prepared systematically for the examination. Systematic, persistent, organized efforts from the beginning of the session are the best strategies for any individual to prevent anxiety related to examination.

A warm relationship and feeling of security in the home environment promotes congenial atmosphere for an adolescent and minimizes the stress and anxiety before, during and after examinations.

Suggestions for students:-

Before going to the Examination Hall

1. Avoid indigestible food, excessive liquids and stimulants like cola, coffee or tea in the previous night.

2. Avoid late night reading.

3. Sleep for six hours at least, to get enough rest.

4. Avoid discussion about previous papers.

5. Plan some relaxation in the morning like listening to light music or going for a short walk or a jog for 15 to 20 minutes.

6. Do not attempt any new revision topics on the day of examination.

7. Eat light food with good nutritive value well before you start from home on the way to examination hall. Keep a small water bottle along with to keep you well hydrated.

In the Examination Hall

1. Minimize waiting time outside the examination hall. It is always good to have known the exact examination hall and seat on the previous day.

2. Walk straight into examination hall on the day of examination.

3. Avoid anxiety provoking discussions with friends e.g. discussion on topics or questions or nervous feelings you have, etc.

4. Practice positive self-statements like "I am going to do well", "I am well prepared for this examination', ‘I have come here to pass the examination with good grades’.

In the Examination Seat

1. Settle and compose yourself.

2. Layout your equipment. e.g. pen, pencil, compass etc at leisure with cool mind.

3. Take fifteen minutes to read the paper and check instructions carefully. then underline key words in questions in your mind and plan.

4. Try to write legibly.

5. Leave space after each answer.

6. Select the question you know the answer best.

7. Write simply in short sentences, with correct spellings.

8. Avoid long background introductions in your answers.

9. Do not worry about the number of supplementary sheets used other examinees. Just concentrate on your own job.

10. Plan your time - drive the time according to the marks allocated to each question.

11. Stick to your time budget - try to keep ten minutes time at the end so as to permit you to tie supplementaries, check roll no. etc.

12. If you are running out of time - remember that two half answered questions fetch more marks than only one fully answered question. So never leave any question unattempted.

13. Always leave five to ten minutes in the end to check your answers. This strategy helps to make minor changes, recheck any inadvertent omissions and adds to the mental peace for further examination papers.

Second Intra School Mathematics Olympiad- RESULT

Dear All,

The Second Intra School Mathematics Olympiad was held on 23 November 2011.

Hopefully, it was a great learning experience for all. It surely provided an extended platform for all the participating students and it is wished that it is utilized to its fullest.

As it was promised to declare the result on 22 December (hope you remember!) i.e. birthday of great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan who acted as a pioneer for many mathematicians. Despite of no proper training in pure mathematics he made special and extraordinary contributions in mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series etc.

Dear All

As it is said, “Without heroes, we are all plain people, and don't know how far we can go.” We in our school, have so many role models who always show us the true paths of inspiration. Our very own Principal Sir has added a golden feather to the school’s hat. He is a true teacher and a placid preacher, as he is well suited to know a child’s psychology and he knows the best how to tackle and mould the growing years of a student’s life. His talent of understanding the child’s mind and ideology was recognized by one of the education channel Vyas TV (managed by UGC). Our Sir got a golden opportunity to deliver an hour lecture on “The essential role of education in the development of a child”. Not only had this, but once again on 13 December 2011 he delivered a lecture on “Effective schooling and effective school”.

All his words were truly inspiring and aspiring.

We are so delighted to have such a versatile and dynamic personality within us who will always put in his best to enhance the capabilities and potential of kids, also it is a matter of pride for all the students to dwell under his guidance and love.

We believe our school is fortunate enough that, now many people will now recognize this unique talent of our principal sir.

C.R.P.F. PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATED 24th ANNUAL DAY

Dear All

CRPF Public School celebrated 24^th Annual Day on 9^th Dec 2011 with great zeal, enthusiasm, and gaiety. The cultural extravaganza that was presented encompassed the latent potential of the students. The chief guest was Shri. K .Vijay Kumar , Honourable Director General, who inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Shri S.R. Panthi , DIG ( Adm. ,Manager of the school ) and other dignitaries were also present to grace the occasion.

The Chief Guest was welcomed by Shri H.R.Sharma , Prinicipal , C.R.P.F. Public School. In his welcome address Mr. Sharma spoke about how education at C.R.P.F. Public school has been a perfect example of empowerment and enlightenment.

The cultural programme started with the school choir rendering Badle Yug Ki Dhara. This was followed by the orchestra which was a rock based fusion with Indian classical Raga Mishra Kaafi and Raga Bhairavi. The annual report was presented by the school principal in which the achievements of the session 2010-2011 were highlighted besides enumerating the excellent results of the students in the board exams of classes X and XII He also spoke of the brilliant performance of the students in the entrance exams of various professional institutes like IIT , DCE , NIFT , Medical etc.

The chief guest released the school magazine “SRIJUN”. He also gave away prizes to meritorious students.

One of the highlights of the function was Junior Ballet called “MY BOOK – A WINDOW TO THE MAGICAL WORLD”. The ballet left the audience spell bound. The senior ballet “Rashtra Ke Shanti Doot” depicted the story of CRPF, how they withstand all attacks with courage and fortitude. The ballet is a salute to the unsung heroes of Mother India.

Shri K. Vijay Kumar, Chief Guest, in his address congratulated the Principal Shri H.R Sharma, teachers and students for the wonderful show presented by them. He also appreciated the efforts of students alike. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs.Uma Mudgal, Vice Principal, CRPF Public School, Rohini.

SECOND INTRA SCHOOL MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD

Mathematics, often called as language of nature has become an integral part of everyone’s life. In today's highly competitive world, one has to bear a lot of mental stress and also have to get involved in so many things in order to acquire knowledge. This is where co-scholastic activities play a very significant role. They provide the much needed exposure for a student.
CRPF Public School has fulfilled its motto of striving towards excellence by organizing and successfully completing its Second Intra School Mathematics Olympiad on 23^rd November 2011. Around 450 students enthusiastically participated in the Olympiad held in school premises.

Such Olympiads and events provide a great and extended platform for the students to nurture and showcase their ability and talent. It was a towering learning experience for the students of the school from class III to XII. To encourage students, merit certificates will be given to those scoring at least 60% along with the normal prizes for the top scorers.

Second Intra School Mathematics Olympiad

The Mathematics Department of CRPF Public School is back with the Second Intra-School Mathematics Olympiad, to be held on 23 November 2011 (Wednesday) in the school premises only. The last date for registration is 18 November 2011 (Friday), so hurry up. Go, get yourself registered!

The Mathematics Department, striving towards excellence has welcomed all the suggestions, opinions and advices after the completion of last year’s First Intra-School Mathematics Olympiad and has tried its best to incorporate most of the valuable suggestions made by the students, participants, teachers, parents and others. As a consequence, unlike last year (where the entire question paper was objective), this year, participants will face a 40% subjective paper too. Also, to felicitate the efforts and intelligence of participants, the department has decided to award a certificate of merit to every participant this year scoring at least 60%, other than the regular prizes for top scorers.

THE GOLDEN OWL - JOURNEY FROM SCHOOL TO DISTRICT LEVEL

Dear All

Corruption seems to be a natural face of Indian politics as others find corruption still the hottest topic of Indian administrative Market. Really, this decade of 21^stCentury tends to kill corruption as well as click people with awareness.

Hence, making contribution of their part our Sanskrit-guru, Dr. Vijay Singh and Mr. Amitosh Sharma unleashed their creativity to give us a masterpiece in the form of a play – THE GOLDEN OWL. Seeking the humour element, quality and uniqueness of this play, it was presented on Independence Day in School, this year. The play was acclaimed with stupendous applause and words of praise by the audience.

This team then headed for Zonal competition and despite the hair splitting judgment and tough competitions among 23 top schools of our zone, we topped the zone. As if topping the zone wasn’t enough, our play again won the Inter- Zonal completion by securing first position. The quality of this play can be judged by the statement of one of the judges in the competition who as executed “PROFESSIONALLY”.

Well, after being the clear winners of Inter- Zonal championship, this play would now be represented at the district level.

At the end, we would like to share that this play not only entertained us but also truly nurtured the talent of each performer involved.

VISIT TO CBI - Lodhi Road

Dear All

C.R.P.F has taken the endeavor of giving students experiences of life time. One such experience we have had recently. It was a trip to the esteemed institution of CBI. On the scheduled day students of classes XII-C and XII-D along with teachers Mrs. Beena Sri Kumar , Mr. Amit Bajaj and Mr. Sunil Patwal embarked upon the trip to the headquarter of Forensic Lab of CBI Academy, Lodhi road.

C B I central bureau of investigation, earlier known as Special Police Establishment, serves as a Criminal investigation body, National security and intelligence agency. Once inside, we were taken to CFSL and were shown different departments and were also given demonstrations of gadgets and techniques used by them in crime investigation.

There was a time when we thought that data once deleted from the hard disk or pen drive cannot be retained but we saw that the data once deleted can be retained even if it is a year old. We saw the finger print being collected and also saw lie- detection machine. We were also introduced to different types of guns and grenades. CBI gallery was one of the most interesting parts of the trip which presented the journey of CBI since its inception. We were also shown a presentation about the activities of CBI by DIG, the interaction with senior officers was focused on creating awareness about legal safeguards against corruption and exploring the ways to curb the menace of corruption in society. Small presentation was made on ill-effects of social networking sites. At the end of the day we all felt proud and lucky to see the working of BEST POLICE FORCE of India who live up to their motto i.e. INDUSTRY, IMPARTIALITY and INTEGRITY. They are loyal to their work and always work for the welfare of the country. They have solved most difficult cases like Rajiv Gandhi assassination, Mumbai blasts 1993, Bhopal gas tragedy etc.

At the end of the trip I not only felt proud of being an Indian but our hearts also were filled with resolve to contribute to the progress of nation and realize the goals of our freedom fighters.

My Message on the occasion of Deewali

Dear all

Deewali is a festival of light. The light that symbolizes knowledge, understanding and wisdom. The light of wisdom is so powerfully penetrating that it is capable of dispelling the darkness of ignorance, depression and dejection and replacing the same with the brilliance of understanding, fellow-feeling, joviality and mutual caring and sharing. I have never been supportive of mindless bursting of crackers without thinking least about others’ peace of mind or sometimes even ignoring the very existence of other people in our vicinity and causing a serious loss of hearing or aural impairment. Somewhere along the line we have forgotten that true celebration of Deewali will be by bringing happiness in the life of our neighbours, friends, colleagues or fellow human beings. A simple wishing with smile on your lips and twinkle in your eyes may be more rewarding and fulfilling an experience for any one whom you offer the same.

I wish to celebrate Deewali by being with my family and spending with them some uninterrupted moments which today’s highly preoccupying life style has made a rarity. At times, it appears that we are like a straw which is being swept away by an invisible tide of time into the ocean of bottomless depth. Despite all these handicaps we have to prove that we have the determination and the grit to face any challenge that we come across.

My Message on the occasion of Dussehra

Dear Students,

Wish you all very happy Dussehra holidays. These holidays are there to give you a break after a long spell of arduous efforts, monotony of class- room learning with full engagement and complete absorption in your meticulous preparation for tests and exams.

One thing which, however, has not to be allowed to sink into oblivion is your focus on your goal i.e., to make yourself a wonderful human being imbued with all social, moral, ethical and spiritual values which are going to be the core of your entire personality and which will determine how smartly you are going to fare in life.

One of the core values which is given special consideration by all and sundry is respect for elders irrespective of their social status or kind of contribution they make in our life. In this regard, I would like to urge you on to extend respect and regards not only to the teachers but also to all the members associated with the school viz., office staff, peons, attendants and cleanliness staff, because they all contribute in their own way to the progress of the school. This way only you can honour the dignity of labour.

Furthermore, you should also take care of the words that you speak. Make sure that no word uttered by you hurts the feeling of someone or becomes the cause of somebody’s sorrow. The actual happiness that we experience is the one that comes by bringing a smile on the parched and dry lips of someone who has been hungry and thirsty for a kind word or a look filled with great love and affection. You may not be able to measure the ecstasy that a person, starved of love and kindness, may feel but it will be a real reward for you.

Going by this or by any other definition, our dear teachers are the greatest...! They not only accept us with our faults, flaws and imperfections, and love us unconditionally, but also dedicate their lives in perfecting those imperfections... Here's wishing all our ~~dear~~ dearest teachers, a VERY HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY...

Letting us rise through ourselves, letting us learn though life, letting us be ourselves, and letting us find life worth living... from the known to the unknown... we have every reason to cherish the existence of our lovely teachers... Thanks a lot, teachers...

The celebration of Teachers' Day was held in our school, replete with cultural programs and heart-felt wishes. The XII Class students took up the responsibility of running the whole show. They assumed the role of teachers and managed the classes very efficiently and meticulously. They also arranged a few interesting games for the teachers like musical chair, dumb-charades and rapid fire questions etc. In the afternoon, the teachers had a special programme. They presented a Bhajan, a Ghazal and a Qauwali. They were presented with a token of appreciation by the management and PTA members. Eminent educationist Sh. Gopal Rana was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Overall it was a very exciting and entertaining day for the students and teachers.

CRPF Public School teachers added another feather to its cap. The Principal Mr. H. R. Our school participated in an Inter–School Competition “EXPRESSIONS 2K11” hosted at MATA JAI KAUR PUBLIC SCHOOL, ASHOK VIHAR on 3 September 2011. A total of twenty one students from our school participated in eight different competitions and performed enthusiastically. It was truly a learning

Celebrating Our Independence

Dear all

15th august is an auspicious day for all Indians. For over 200 years India was ruled by the Britishers. On this day as we all know that India got freedom. The whole year we talk of patriotism, love and concern for India. But this day we have a reason to feel the zeal and pride for our country. And feel lucky to have freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Raja Ram Mohan Roy etc who sacrificed their lives, their priorities for their country.

At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance ... We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again ...... Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru

These are not mere words of Nehru ... It is an entire nation roaring, declaring and therefore celebrating its hard-earned Independence. It was a proud moment then (We wonder if we really lived up to their expectations) !

To celebrate this spirit of sacrifice and the feel of the love for country our school today celebrated Independence Day paying tribute to the nation its glory and 64 years of independence.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs.Meena K.Vijay Kumar, President, CWWA (CRPF Wives Welfare Association) and Shri S.R.Panthi, DIGP(Adm) Cum Manager of the school was the Guest of Honour. The founder Principal Shri Suraj Prakash also graced the occasion with his kind presence. The entire CRPF School family welcomed him with open heart and rejoiced his presence completely.

The function commenced with Flag Hoisting by the Chief Guest. The cultural programme commenced with the patriotic song “Himandri Tung Shring Se” presented by the School Choir. It was followed by the welcome speech by the school Principal Shri H.R.Sharma. The guests were welcomed with saplings. The School Orchestra depicted an amalgamation of three flavours of Vande Mataram, highlighting the “the awakening of freedom, after India’s freedom and the Modern India”. It was an indeed and enchanting experience. The tiny tots of the school presented a scintillating dance on “Let the Peace Prevail” and the pre-primary students presented “Goonj Sattawan Ki- a dance depicting the First War of Independence of 1857”. A thought provoking Hindi Skit “The Golden Owl “ was presented by the Senior students. The play conveyed a subtle message of rampant corruption present in the society.The lively and colourful Onam dance from Kerala mesmerized the audience.

The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour gave away prize to meritorious students for their excellence in academics and co-curricular activities. The esteemed guests went around the exhibition put up by Social Studies and Language Departments and appreciated the beautiful exhibits displayed.

The Guest of Honour in his speech appreciated and encouraged the efforts of the students.The vote of thanks was presented by the Vice Principal, Mrs.Uma Mudgal which brought the colourful ceremony to an end .

THE NEW FACE OF STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Dear all

Remember that to 'preach' is to tell others the right way to do something; to 'practice' is to do the thing yourself. You 'practice what you preach' when you yourself do something the same way you tell others to do it.

The day of July 22, 2011 brought yet another chapter to the history of CRPF Public School. The school saw yet another dawn of the new set of potential student leaders, precisely, the Head-Boy and the Head-Girl. Undoubtedly, for the first time ever, the school went democratic to the very core i.e. while electing the members of the Prefectorial Board.

The selection procedure began with the nominations of potential candidates from Class XII. All the nominees appeared for a written exam to test their general aptitude and awareness. The top three girls ( Kriti Pandey XII-B, Aditi Verma XII-B and Bhairvi XII-D ) and boys ( Vishal Dabas XII-A, Shrey Arora XII-C and Madhav Mittal XII-C ) hence qualified to appear in the final round.

The final round was an extempore in the morning assembly which tested the spontaneity and the overall personality of all the selected candidates (Aditi was absent, though). It was surely a close call and a tough competition among the candidates. However, surely one girl and one boy outshone the others. Hence, after such a daunting selection procedure, Principal Sir finally declared Kriti Pandey and Vishal Dabas as the Head Girl and the Head Boy respectively for the school for the session 2011-2012. We wish them Good luck while they make the school a better place to be at.

On a fact-of-the-matter note, the school is yet to have its entire prefectorial board take over the charge. The total numbers of posts available in the Board are 35, including the Head Boy and Head Girl. The other posts include the House Captains (One from each house) and House Vice-Captains (One from each house), Prefects (five from each house), hostel heads (a boy and a girl), and a prefect each for instrumental music, dance and vocal music.

The House Captain and House Vice-Captains will be elected through votes to be cast by the remaining students of Classes IX - XII on 28 July 2011.

SHRADHA HOUSE FUNCTION HELD ON 10 MAY 2011

Dear All

Every year one of the four houses of the school gets an opportunity to present a cultural program. And this time, the members of Shradha house were obliged to get the fortuity.

On May 10^th, the members of Shradha house came up with an eccentric function to be put up in front of IG (Admn) Mr. B.K Sharma, The Principal Mrs. Meenu Tiwari, teachers and parents. The chief guest received a warm welcome; students gifted him a sapling along with a painting to honor his gracious presence.

The Principal escorted the chief guest for lightening up the lamp ceremony.
The function began with a welcome song “Jagriti” which conveyed a vibrant message ‘jo sovat h vo khovat h, jo jagat h vo pavat h’, directed by Mrs. Jutika Paladhi accompanied by Mr. Sukhmeet Singh and Mr. Dheeresh Kumar.

It was followed by the exotic performance by the school orchestra “Soothing nights in the hills”, depicting the irrational beauty of the nature. It was coordinated and directed by Mr. Amitosh Sharma. The composition was based on raga Pahadi with a touch of westernization. The synchronized melodies of sitar, guitar, violin, harmonium and the drum outsourced a breathtaking atmosphere on audience.

The IG(Admn) and The principal addressed the august gathering enlightening them about the house system and the house function. Then the House Master Mrs. Beena Sri Kumar presented the house report.
The students also portrayed the beautiful relationship of a sacrificing mother and their family members. It was truly an inspiration for the Gen-X, which is commonly resorting to disrespect towards their mothers. The play “Mother’s Day” was directed by Mrs. Amarjeet Aurora and Mrs. Avantika.

The house always encourages the meritorious students by awarding them with appreciation certificates. Mrs. Neerja Sharma conceived the concept of the Shradha house ballet “Anjani Putra Hanuman” choreographed by Mrs. Amrita Jain. Students participated enthusiastically and came out with flying colors. The vice house master presented the “vote of thanks” remarking it as the end of the event.

The entire event stole the applause and appreciation of one and all.

Final Results of Inter House Basketball Match

Dear All,

“If reading is to mind then sports is to body”

CRPF Public School today registered a inter house basketball match. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams of five players try to score points by throwing or shooting a ball through the top of a basketball hoop while following a set of rules. Basketball is one of the most popular and widely viewed sports in the world.

On 21^st of April the Qualifying round was played. In the first half two rounds were played, the first one was played between Shaurya and Shram, where Shaurya won the game by 19-6.

The second game was between Shradha and Shakti, where Shradha gathered all the claps leading by 13-4.

In the second half it was time for juniors to take authority of the match. Again there were two sets of round. In the first game between Shaurya and Shram, Shram won the match by a marginal score of 8-0!
in the second set of game, Shakti won against Shradha by 6-2!

And today it was the time for the much awaited Finals. In the Juniors Shakti won against Shram by 15-6.

And Shradha was lost by Shaurya with a drastic score of 23-10

We must congratulate players for bringing Laurence to their teams. Way to go players J
