Undang-Undang Course

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 24 Sep 2009 15:36:00 +0000

Its been really a long time since i updated my blog, got exams going on and kidda lazy to write.

Anyway, currently having a week of school holidays thanks to the Hari Raya celebrations but no thanks to the “free” one day public holiday on friday since the government wanted to reduce the traffic jam( since when did we get that kind of “free” holiday for CNY). I bet many trial exam takers will be frustrated since many trial exams end at friday.

Joined my ex-classmates, Jin Xin and Eu Jo to take the undang-undang course. We paid for the undang-undang and car license. Unfortunately, all 3 of us cant get our car licenses yet since our birthdays are in october and december.

Photos during the undang-undang course, and yes, boring….zzzz

Jin Xin and Eu Jo..

This is Mr. Rahman trying to make the course as interesting as possible, but the materials inside are simply too boring…

Jin Xin la-yeng like he always does…

Arhh.. Need to wait till december for this.. SIenzz…

By the way, The game is on Monday at 8.45pm. Don’t miss it..

Manchester United In Malaysia

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Sun, 19 Jul 2009 09:32:00 +0000

For those non-football fanatics, do you know that the great football team, Manchester United has come to Asia for the Asia Tour 2009 to play against China, Korea, Indonesia and our country, Malaysia.

Every Manchester United fan in Malaysia jumped off their seats and went nuts when Manchester United first announced their arrival at the beginning of the year. They announced that the game between Manchester United and Malaysia would be at 18th July at Stadium Bukit Jalil.

Unfortunately, my SPM is coming, so I cant travel to KL and catch this match. If this match is after my exams, i would definitely go. Well, luckily Astro broadcasted the match and i still get to watch it.

Don’t believe me that Malaysian Man U fans are that nuts?

Stadium Bukit Jalil with a capacity crowd of 80+thousand Malaysians. It’s even more than an average English Premier League match in England.

The official starting list for the game. I bet tons of people are going to pay big money to buy this list as a memorabilia if this goes on sale.

SURPRISINGLY, THE SCORELINE IS

MANCHESTER UNITED 3 – 2 MALAYSIA

Here are some photos from the match:

Rooney made a beautiful pass to Nani to create the 2nd goal of the game.

Nani with his routine aerobatic moves after scoring the 2nd goal.

Michael Owen, the much anticipated new signing scored the winning goal on his debut.

A beautiful photo of Dimitar Berbatov with Malaysia players.

Here’s a video for highlights of the game. Check out Malaysia’s first goal from Amir Yahya which was spectacular. Congratulations to him for scoring 2 goals against Man U.

Saturday morning at school..

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Sat, 11 Jul 2009 04:46:00 +0000

This Saturday morning activities were a little bit different from the normal Saturday school co-curriculum activities as the co-curriculum information centre group i joined had a AGM. This also meant the day i stepped down as a Vice-President for the group, I realized that time really flies.

From left, Mr.Cheah, my school’s Deputy Principal, announcing the new committee board.

Kooi Jin, The new president of the club.

Boon Hooi, my Form 3 classmate, known for doing magic.

Chien Chern cam-whoring….

Der Chiau, now Ex-President of the club..

Received a pen engraved with my school’s name on it as a gift of appreciation.

This Saturday was also the day my school had a football match with Phor Tay Private. I watched the game, have to say my school played well, but only managed to win by 1-0. Congratulations anyway.

Love Story with Viva La Vida

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Tue, 07 Jul 2009 14:39:00 +0000

My classmate introduced me a video he found on Youtube yesterday. It’s a piano cello cover of Love Story by Taylor Swift and Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I think its a very good mix of the music, both guys in the video are really good in combining it.

Thug Story-Taylor Swift feat T-Pain

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 02 Jul 2009 15:04:00 +0000

Was checking out on Youtube and found this new song called, Thug Story by Taylor Swift and T-Pain.. You won’t believe Taylor Swift just did that…Quite funny for a country song artist singing Hip Hop

Teacher’s Day Class Party

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Wed, 01 Jul 2009 15:18:00 +0000

Friday was my school’s teacher’s day but we were more into the class party rather the whole teacher’s day celebration. Every class had their own ideas of celebrating it. Some called catering services, some ordered fast food delivery while most classes prepared the food themselves.

My class wanted something nice, home-made. We had Tom-Yam Mee, Sushi, Snacks, some sausages, wedges and nuggets I’ve made, etc… Basically it wasn’t about the food but more about the way we enjoyed it. I saw some students from other classes were eating and doing stuffs by themselves, come on, it’s the last year in Chung Ling, we should enjoyed with our friends as much as we can.

All of us felt hungry after the long teacher’s day ceremony in the hall..

Shi Xian, Jerry and Chun Sean..

Win Shern, Jia Lin, Yew Jin and Me.

Kai Chee(Sorry about your hair), Hong Wang the Basketball pro and Jie Ming

Shin Wei, Chin Yuh and Zhi Ping the singer.

Ee Jian, Chun Sean and the one loves singing, Chuan Han.

Me and Clubber Xia Wei ( Even more sorry about your hair)

Zhi Yang and Hong Wang.

After eating, we decided to play games since we had nothing much to do. We found some leftover sandwiches and Wasabi for the sushi. So we put 6 sandwiches on the plate, 3 with the wasabi and 3 without. So we played a game and the player who gets picked have to randomly choose a sandwich and eat it.

The ultimate sandwich with the most wasabi on it.

Here is video of the lucky winner who chose the ultimate sandwich.

Playing true or dare.

I’m now a National Service trainee

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Tue, 30 Jun 2009 16:33:00 +0000

Friends were busy forwarding messages about the latest PLKN trainee list. So i might as well give it a shot. Typed PLKN SEMAK (IC) and send to 15888. Waited for quite some time until it replied with a message.

Yeah, Tahniah…What an appropriate word…Anyway, maybe its not as bad as many of us think, many ex-trainees said it was very fun. I would like to wish congratulations to all family and friends who are joining me.

Gonna miss my hair…

New Manchester United 2009/2010 Kit

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Mon, 29 Jun 2009 13:20:00 +0000

My all time favourite football team, Manchester United has just launched their brand new home kit. To me it looks nicer compared to the previous one but still not the best kit ever, could’ve do better with the collar. It still looks kidda unique and cool though. Hope that the we’ll have a greater season.

Photos from www.manutd.com . Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra posing with their new kit.

This is the previous kit. Plain but still nice. Now that the new one has something extra, i hope that Karim Benzema or Frank Ribery gets to wear the new kit. Anyway, i heard the news saying that Man Utd. is close to sign Antonio Valencia from Wigan, i hope its true..

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Sun, 28 Jun 2009 08:29:00 +0000

Yesterday was a school day to replace the Hari Raya holidays, everyone including the teachers were not in the mood so we pretty much wasted the day. After school, headed to Gurney Plaza with Darrel for Transformers ROTF.

Ji Ye and Yang Jie joined us later. Even before entering the cinema, the whole place was so crowded just because of the show. All ticket counters were freaking long, it was almost impossible to get tickets for yesterday’s show unless you bought it in advance or you reserved it. Food and beverage counters were even longer. Phone bookings were useless to get tickets, www.gsc.com.my crashed. I barely get the tickets from a web most people don’t know about, its www.cinema.com.my.

Anyway, back to the show. I have to say, one of the best movies ever. Don’t know why some said “just ok” or “not that good”. Those who haven’t watched it yet, I only can tell you that you must watch it..

Do you smell what I’m cooking?

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 25 Jun 2009 13:27:00 +0000

Been busy recently with many stuffs, plus nothing much to post about during school days.

Anyway, my class has just entered the finals of the school interclass badminton competition. Yay!! I didn’t played well but credits to my teammates, who played well from the first round till the semis. The final is on next Wednesday, we’re the underdogs but still, all the best to the team.

I almost forgot, tomorrow is our school’s teachers’ day. There’ll be some function going on in the hall to thank the teachers for their contributions. After that, there’ll be a class party going on. I’m in charge of cooking wedges, hot dogs…Gotta wake up early to cook..And hope that i don’t overcook the food..

Bye Bye CR7

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 11 Jun 2009 12:57:00 +0000

It’s done. Real Madrid has signed Cristiano Ronaldo for 80 MILLION POUNDS!!!

Even he’s my favourite player at Man Utd, but i gotta say, he is a LOSER..Before the champions league final, he said he is happy and wanted to stay at Man.U to achieve greater heights. After the defeat to Barca, he said he is unhappy and wanted to leave immediately. I mean come on man, don’t be such a baby, you gotta be man enough to accept the defeat. Anyway, going to Real Madrid doesnt mean you’re gonna win the Champions League.

Anyway, looking at the bright side, we’re 80 mil richer!! That’s enough to sign 4 Fernando Torres!! I just hope Sir Alex gets a good replacement since money is not going to be the issue anymore, no matter its Ribery,Antonia Valencia or David Silva.. As long as Nani is not the replacement, i’m happy…

Glory Glory Man. Utd!!!!

Komtar Tower Run 2009

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 04 Jun 2009 15:31:00 +0000

Participated in another run again, this time, it’s the annual Komtar Tower Run. My first year in this event, very different from any other previous runs i had participated. What so special about this event is that you actually have to climb Komtar.

Like any other runs, there are gifts for the participants..

Plenty of basically useless brochures and shop coupons.

The usual lucky draw coupon.

The best stuff in the gift bag is a free 2 weeks Celebrity Fitness membership. So far i went to the gym everyday since monday. LOL..

The run started with a 2km run from the foyer then run around the Pacific mall passing by Traders before climbing the staircase near the Oldtown Coffee Shop. After that was all the way up till the 60th floor. My stamina sucked so bad i had to stop every 4-5 floors, but luckily still managed to finish it.

After the race, went inside the dome for the usual performances, speeches, prize givings and lucky draws. Didn’t cared about it, went for a movie with Chien Chern and Hui Yong. It’s called I Corrupt All Cops, It was just OK lar~~

Last Minute Studies

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Fri, 29 May 2009 16:29:00 +0000

Wohoo !! 3 weeks of brutal exams are finally over, faster i thought though…

Anyway, another group study with friends in McD a day before the first day of our exams, this time with fewer people.

Taking a break, actually not a break since we barely started studying..

We just love the unlimited refills of coffee so we can sit there for hours and hours…

Got fed up with McD since it was freaking hot in there and decided to go to Coffee Bean.

Nothing much happened, some food and some last minute studying.. Unlike the few previous times of group studying with my friends, this time was a little more quiet..

UEFA Champions League

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Wed, 27 May 2009 07:52:00 +0000

Tonight will be the night where you see your neighbors watching tv at 3am, mamak stalls filled with crazy football fans, working people fall asleep during their work that morning and students have no idea how to do during their exams.

Yes, tonight( its tomorrow morning actually) will be the much anticipated

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!!!

Manchester United vs Barcelona

This is from last year’s final, but this year’s photo will be exactly the same too..

New Linkin Park Song For Transformers 2

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 21 May 2009 08:15:00 +0000

Been busy with last minute studies for the ongoing Mid-Year exam..Haha..Burning midnight oil as always…

Anyway, i just found out my all time favourite band, Linkin Park has just released a new song for the upcoming Transformers 2 movie. It’s called New Divide, as every other song, it rocks!!! Check it out..

Good luck to those who are taking their exams as well..

Chuck

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Mon, 04 May 2009 14:05:00 +0000

Chuck is the name of a TV series. I guessed some people may heard of it since AXN does broadcast the show, but it’s way behind the latest episodes. Anyway, it’s a really entertaining series, it’s about a pc geek with top secrets installed in his head with 2 agents protecting him.

I’ve been watching this show since the first episode, now season 2 has just ended.

Gotta say I'm loving this show with its great blend of romance action and comedy, those looking for some laughter should definitely watch this.

Primary School Friends Reunion at Win Yee’s House

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 23 Apr 2009 13:09:00 +0000

One of my primary school friends, Win Yee who went to Australia when we were standard 5 had just came back for a couple weeks. She invited some of our ex-classmates to go over her place since we had never seen each other for some years now.

Too bad not many went there because most of us knew about it quite late and Benedict did a bad job of calling people to go. So there was just around 7 of us.

Anyway, her house is at Pearl Hill and it’s freaking large.

That’s Benedict who is still my schoolmate.

On the right is a small watchtower where you get to view a very beautiful scenery from top

On top of the watchtower. On the left is my kindergarden, primary and secondary schoolmate, Charles. On the right is David who kept complaining that I'm too heavy for his motorcycle. Excuses…

Sceneries of Tanjung Bungah from her house.

Then we went to buy burgers from the nearby stall and walked back up to her house.

So that’s the host, Win Yee on the left. Benedict trying to be funny.

Charles trying to be cool in front of the camera, like always.

Another good example here..

Of course, chit-chatted for hours just about everything. Had burgers for dinner, then chips for desserts. Anyway, even Benedict was a bad organizer, he was a good entertainer, crapped a lot, got beaten a lot too.

Kai Yang posing while Charles can’t stop eating.

We can eat huh?? Very sorry for messing up your house..

All of us went back home around midnight then decided to come back the day after.. LOL..

Went to GP to watch Fast n Furious 4.. Not bad though..Then her mum drove us back to her house..

Darrel and Benedict in the car.

In the room chit chatting for another few hours..

Photos before going back..

Moral Club Activity at Youth Park

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Tue, 14 Apr 2009 10:33:00 +0000

The voluntary work at Youth Park is actually our annual activity on our agenda. This year was no different, but unfortunately it was on Cheng Beng Day so we were expecting a lot of people couldn’t make it. Yet, thanks to many of our members and friends, around 40++ people came. We gathered at school and then went there on a bus we had prepared.

Surprisingly, many of them worked hard and actually cleaned the place the whole 2 hours.

This looks fake..

Even though we had 40++ person, most of us cleaned the same place, so it was like our place was very clean while the other spots were still full of leafs.

One of the really hardworking juniors…

Err..Resting??

Ah Hooi, not really sure he did a lot of work though..

Take 1.

Take 2. Both taken with a Nikon Coolpix L16

And Take 3. This was taken with a Canon Ixus 80. Notice the difference?

Lastly, thanks to all those who participated even it was on a Saturday.

Singapore: Day Two

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 09 Apr 2009 13:08:00 +0000

First, we went to Singapore Flyer to collect our lucky draw prizes which only Malaysian tourists were eligible to enter. It was some sort of Visit Singapore program to encourage Malaysians to visit Singapore. We wanted to grab all the good prizes so we went there early in the morning, i heard we were the largest group to collect our prizes in the morning.

View of Singapore Flyer from the bottom.

One by one, we collected our prizes. Most of us including me got ourselves 50SD voucher for Wisma Atria. My cousin, Jher Hau got himself a chocolate set and a bag of chocolate which you need to heat it up using the set to eat it. My cousin sister got herself a F1 Sepang bag, her bf got himself a Nokia phone. And the biggest prize our group got belong to my mum which is a Nikon Coolpix camera.

Yay!!

My cousin with his prize..

Can you find the Maybank tower??

After claiming our prize, we walked to the nearby Esplanade Mall. Just next to the mall, i saw this pub called DXO,full of my favourite team’s stuffs, Manchester United.

Me posting with my “Idols”.

Since it was early in the morning, nothing much in the mall. Now i know why people don’t call Esplanade Esplanade, they call it the Durian.

Went to Raffles City Mall for lunch before heading out to Marina Bay to visit the newly built Marina Barrage.

It’s a dam which separates the man-made reservoir and the open sea. The purpose of it is to block the tides from the sea from entering the reservoir so the water in there is always clean. It also has pumps to pump out excess water from the reservoir out the ocean to prevent flooding.

Notice the colour difference between reservoir water and sea water..Underneath the bridge is the pumps to pump out the water.

If i’m not wrong, this green roof is the place where the solar panels are placed which powers the whole barrage. What a clever way of overcoming the problem of flood while providing clean water to the Singaporeans. Other than that, it is environmental friendly too.I wonder when will our country manage to build something like that?

A view of the Singapore Flyer from the rooftop.

Then, went for a walk at Orchard Road before heading back to the apartment.

Form 5 School Life

noreply@blogger.com (SimonHong) — Thu, 02 Apr 2009 10:18:00 +0000

Well form 4 was a great year for me, plenty of friends, plenty of hang outs, plenty of fun. Have to say Form 4 was the best year among all.

Time flies and we all have to move along. Form 5 might not be as fun or as crazy as form 4 for me, but it’s still enjoyable.

One day, the school allowed students to bring their own digital cam to take photos of our class and school for the graduation magazine. Well enjoy..

One of the most common stuffs Chung Ling students do.

Xia Wei and Win Shern

Eric and Zheng Feng

Merritt and Jerry

Some of my juniors in the Gerko Group.

Then, we had our calligraphy competition which most of us played the fool.

If i’m not mistaken, he’s the reigning champion in small character calligraphy. Its the above one by the way, not the one below.
