Good Friday and Happy Weekend Wishes!

I hosted a

Baby Sprinkle

last night for my daughter. I had never heard the phrase until recently but it is a perfect saying for a small token shower for a multiple time mom to be. I also managed to serve the guests and make four cards all before 8:30 too!

So, here are a few cards we did last night in class. The Brown toned one uses the new Baked Brown Sugar Ink sponged for the front using a mask . The Green toned one uses the new Pistachio Pudding and the flower on the left is matted with Smokey Slate. This color combo was a hit with my girls!

Inside I used Crumb Cake for the banner design and stamped the sentiment in Baked Brown Sugar.

The last two cards were practically cased. The Honey Comb design was inspired by Laura Laffke and the legos are all over the internet so I am not sure who began that idea but the girls loved that too.

I am doing better on decorating the inside of my cards too thanks to the inspiration of

Robbie Rubala!

SPRING PROJECTS!

Hey Stampers! I have a couple of cards and projects to show you today. First some of you probably know it is that time of year again and that means my
Grand-daughter's Ballet Recital is coming up. Here is the card I made for her this year. In years past I have used the same template but it was a bit more babyish. This year she is a big girl of 5 and loves BLING so I added some to the tutu. Oh my what can I expect at 16 LOL!

I have added pictures of some of the other designs I have made using this same template below for baby cards. This template is so much fun especially with the rounded bottom! So be sure to browse my store for lots of fun ideas to inspire you too!

Now as you also know I have been showcasing designers from Craft Project Central here on my blog this month. I hope you have enjoyed them. INVISIBLE TRIPLE EASEL CARD

Last week I had a class where we make a fancy flod card and 3D item. Here is my version of the invisible triple easel card. I have shown the original pic and then put it in higher contrast for you to see the details. I love how it looks and it is perfect for birthdays and Mother's Day....add a little flowered purse from Laura Haffke's creations and you are good to go. Enjoy your day!

DYEING BY PRODUCT "mistake"

Today's card uses the sketch over at Hand Stamped Sentiments . I miss having some soft wide ribbon with a little weight. I love making bows and hoped that we would be getting something pretty in the NEW CATTY but that isn't going to happen for right now so I need to improvise. I had been making some Baby Centerpieces for my DIL shower this weekend and some of the items needed for the tables to be stuffed full with netting. SO! I used an extra piece to make this card. Can you see the nice texture on the green scrap. That was created while I was dyeing the vanilla colored netting. COOL mistake or by product huh! I'll be playing more with that soon! LOL!

Anyway I took the netting and created a rustic accent to use as my bow. I hope you are inspired to try NEW things. Have a fun stampin' Day! ~

GLITTER PARTY

Good Monday everyone! I am refreshed from a fabulous spring weekend here in New England. It was so lovely and hubby and I drove around with the top down all day in his convertible. Lovely REALLY! Never had one before and it was a fun time!

Anyway today is countdown for my DIL baby shower and the cards may be scarce this week, but for now I did the sketch over at Freshly Made and added some sparkle with Gimmer Paper for a fun "off season" change of pace. I thionk we forget to use glimmer paper this time of year...but I had it out for convention ideas and decided to make a card with some of the left over. I love this little hat because it makes a perfect little statement for a not so perfect 60 year birthday coming up! Enjoy your week!

SWEET TREAT VINTAGE

Today's card is done for the challenge using this picture over at Paper Craft Star .

I think I have only done one Vintage Style card in all the time I have been stamping. This picture screamed that style with its lace and fabrics and soft creams and light pinks, so I decided to give it a whirl.

I used Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Whisper White for my palette of colors. I also used an idea from a technique that I saw over at my friend Laura's blog for making some flowers! I added my very own paper pillow that holds a mint treat! I finished it with a reverse folded base to create a natural easel! What do you think? ~Enjoy your day!

Spring Time Challenges

SWALLOWTAIL is one of the prettiest stamp sets I have and I am hoping it will be included in the 2013-2014 catalog because I have a project I would like to make using it. But for today I used the image to do a couple of challenges. The first one was a sketch over at Pals Paper Arts... I loosely copied the sketch no in layers but shading! Then I used the color combo over at Color Throw Down
in Blush Blossom, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink. I finished it off by using the theme SPRING over at Creative Belli. I hope you enjoy your day and play a little too!

Mojo Monday Play Time

Good Monday stamper friends!

Last week was a trying week here in the Boston area, and my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who were personally affected by this horrific incident. There is no way to make sense of it and I cannot eloquently say what should be said so I leave you with thoughts of love and compassion from my small piece of this earth. I am so proud to be a Bostonian and my prayers are with you.

For today's card I am using the sketch at Mojo Monday and I chose to do a thank you card to send to one of the Boston Police Stations.

I punched 4 squares in a scrap of paper and then sponged color in varying degrees from dark to light to create the intensity of color. Then before removing the mask I stamped some images in black Staz On. I hope it inspires you to play~Enjoy your day!

Frehsly Made black and white

Hi there! As many of you already know both my daughter and daughter in law will be having our NEW grand babies in 8 short weeks. YUP they are due the same week. It is going to be so much fun...but that means I have been busy with shower preparations making some really cute things with MDS and of course our lovely Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette. Yummy together I must say.

Then of course there is the excitement of CONVENTION too and I have been dreaming of swaps! Yesterday I played around with a Black and White Swap that I will be attending and had some left over scraps on my work table so I used them for today's sketch over at FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES! ~Thanks for stopping in and Enjoy your day!

Brights Technique for Challenges

Today's card is for two challenges the first is a color challenge at the Play Date Cafe that wanted the colors of a nautical breeze in Pool Part, Tangerine Tango, and Night of Navy. Then I used the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches to pull together a cheery card for a friend! I added some bling to the brads using my reinkers and colored the cups with my brights technique and it was finished. You can see how much brighter and cleaner the color is in the cups and brads (brights technique) compared to just using Stampin' Write markers on the sentiment and polka dots. I still don't have a tute but someday!!! WHEW I need a secretary! This card is Fast and Easy! ~Enjoy your day!

FRESHLY MADE SIMPLE

I had no intention of doing a challenge this morning until I went down to my stamp room and saw a lonely piece of left over box template and thought of the sketch on Freshly Made . THEN I decided to use the box edge as the line across the sketch by trimming it and adding some sentiments. The rest was easy.

Speaking of easy sometimes the longer we stamp the more difficult it is to remember to KEEP IT SIMPLE.....so I must say it was fun to play with this sketch and keep it simple to creat a quick and fun card in no time. Enjoy your Monday!

Baby Shower Bingo Cards

I am so sorry I have been away from making cards lately but between Easter and having 22 guests at my home and now prepping for a baby shower that I am hosting in three weeks, I have been straight out. Here I wanted to show you what I have been doing on MDS! I love this thing. I know! I know! It only took me 18 months after I bought it to use it but now I am hooked. You may have seen the invites I created earlier this year...well here is a Bingo Card for Baby Bingo that we will be playing during the opening of gifts. I used one of the templates out of MDS and created photo boxes to add clip art. Printed them off and voila. By grouping the rows together I was able to move the sections around so no one will get the same card layout. Enjoy your day!

Spring Sampler

I just love the stamp set Spring Sampler and I am crossing my fingers that it will be carried over into the New catalog come summer, but just in case it isn't I am using it a lot for my cards and classes. Here is a sample I made for the challenge at ColorQ where I used Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade to make a fun and airy card. Enjoy your weekend and Happy Easter Blessings!

BABY NAME BLOCKS PROJECT

Good Monday Morning. WOW did anyone in NewEngland see the beautiful sunrise this morning? I was up when it was still dark and as the birds began to sing I noticed a red glow in my office. When I looked out the window it looked as though the sky was on fire! It was so stunning that I stopped and stood at my window for minutes captured by it all. As I looked around the neighborhood all of the east facing windows of the houses were aglow in red. It was beautiful. I hope some of you got to see it too.

Anyway it is Monday and I have had a busy week end preparing for a baby shower! My stamp room is a disaster and I need to prep for a class on Thursday and get ready for Easter Brunch that I am hosting on Sunday so I am out of breath thinking about all I need to do. Here is a picture of a project I am working on for the baby shower. I am having fun playing with some old buttons and will finally be able to cull my stash! This will go on the cake table and then it will be able to be used as a decoration in the babies room. I hope you all have a great Monday! See you tomorrow! #baby blocks

BUTTERED EGGS!

This card is done for the SKETCH over at Freshly Made, and for the EASTER PARADE at SU Only, I used the oval center as a window to showcase eggs hiding in some frayed ribbon grass! I used the tree top image from the stamp set EASY EVENTS to make the grass look like something you would see out of an old coloring book, from when I was little, and then I just added the ribbon to furl around the sugared eggs. You can see more examples of buttered eggs below.

Last month I introduced my blog friends to a new technique that I called Buttered Buttons You can see a card using them HERE . Well, today I decided to make a couple of cards using that same technique but this time I added some dazzling diamonds to create a sugared egg! HOW CUTE! I hope it inspired you to play!

CHALLENGES

I cannot believe I need to go out and shovel snow again this morning with the bright forecast of more to come on Thursday! YIKES will this winter ever end....this time the temps will remain below 35 so there will be no melting anytime soon and the weatherman says be prepared for this pattern to continue into APRIL! ANYONE have a spare room in a warmer climate you are willing to share! I will bring stampin' stuff! LOL!

Well I needed some color to cheer me up and decided to do a few challenges. The first one is for a COLOR SPLASH over at Play Date Cafe the second part is the SKETCH from Simon Says Stamp and the third was MONOCHROMATIC from Make My Monday I hope you all like it. Enjoy your day!

PUT DOWN THOSE LAYERS AND EMBELLISHMENTS!

Well we are in a cold holding pattern for the next two weeks in the northeast of the USA and I for one am anxious for spring. How about you? Well, this weekend I sat down with a little reinker and made this one layer card full of pizazz and color. Once and awhile it is nice just to do a one layer card that costs only one stamp to mail! After all we get carried away sometimes with MORE now don't we! LOL! (wink)

DOILY IN BRIGHTS TECHNIQUE

Another weekend approaches and even though almost all of the 22" of snow that fell last weekend has disappeared due to the wonderful spring like weather we had this week, we are being thrown back into the cold of winter and the threat of more snow on Monday looms in the forecast.

SO, my fellow stampers I was in the mood for some color and took out the ingredients for the Brights Technique again and played a bit. I framed the small area of color for the challenge at
Less Is More! Here I embossed the doily in Gold Embossing Powder first on Whisper White card stock. Then I used the brights technique in the center of the embossed image. It is bright in real life and does have the satiny finish that I really like, and I love how the Daffoldil Delight stays true to it's color when mixed with the Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point ink, BUT I'll keep playing until I get this where I want it to be and then I will be sharing it with all of you. Enjoy your weekend!
