For starters...Your going to want to join a well known Affiliate Based Network like LinkShare.

You can sign-up for FREE with the link provided ~ (I suggest doing this after you finish my article of course...lol)

Join the LinkShare Referral Program for free!

When you sign-up they'll ask you for your basic information such as;

Your Name:
Address:
City/State:
Phone:
Your Website/URL or (Blog Address/URL)

And my personal favorite question....

How would you like to receive your payment(s)?

=(Check by mail, Debit/Bank Card/ or Direct Deposit)

Once you've signed up for your Free Affiliate account with LinkShare, you can now proceed to apply for all the programs (Advertisers) they offer. Depending on how you wish to approach your new online business, and how selective you are...You can simply sign-in to your account, and from the "Publisher's Dashboard" (or Back-Office as I call it) you can Click the 2nd on the Red menu bar reading:

"Programs"

You will will see several categories from which to choose your "Advertiser's" or potential clientel. Choose whatever suits your mood, or you canbe specific to the type of advertising you think will do well on your website/blog.

When you "click" onto a specific group button/icon from the categorized list of advertisers available, (which has everything from "Auto's ~ Travel") your ready to begin applying for
permission(s) to publish advertisements for those Vendors or Merchants.

We're talking companies like; The Microsoft Store, APPLE'S iTunes, CompUSA just to name a few!

There's no limit to how many programs you join, however...several of them do choose to manually acceptance, and will verify your site, and personal information first. So, the cleaner your website or blog, the more likely it is you'll meet the standard approval requirements.

I personally suggest starting a free blog, if you don't have your own website, and keeping the content to a minimum roar or clean, as you will be representing some Fortune 500 companies (if you play your cards right anyway).

There are several companies that will approve you right away, and you'll generally start receiving confirmation emails from all the companies/programs that you have applied for... with an acceptance letter, or denial message.

(I recommend signing up for as many Advertisers as possible, as it gives you an advertising advantage later.)

TIP: When you see the 1st page of potential clients or Advertiser's as LinkShare calls them, go to the bottom of the page first, and change the number of views per page to 100. This will save you a great deal of time. (I know this because my dumb as went page by page, unaware you could increase the view count...oops!)

Now you should be viewing 100 companies per page that want to give you Money!

Alright, you gotta earn it...so they're not "giving" you anything, but they are putting everything you need at your fingertips to make it easy as pie!!!

From the list of 600 or so, potential revenue builders, you have a choice to select only the names and companies you know...(or do it the right way) and simply return to the top left, click the advertiser button/box, (located on the light blue bar above the 1st advertiser on the drop list) which will automatically check all the boxes on the page for you automatically, and then you simply scroll down to the bottom of the page, and hit the button,"Apply" and be patient for a second or two.

Once you submit your request(s) by hitting the supply button, they will run the request(s) agaist the information you supplied at sign-up. You will then see a 2nd window appear, by which you simply click the boxes to confirm you read the companies rules and accepted them. (you know those damn User Agreement Contracts...Nobody ever reads! LOL)

Within a few seconds (dependant upon your internet speed of course) you will start seeing a one of 3 immediate responses on the right of the column, determining the status of your request(s).

Generally, they will read one of 4 answers;

1.) APPROVED (which means you can start placing ads for those companies)
2.) PENDING (in most cases you'll see this, as they are manually approving requests)
3.) NO RELATIONSHIP (They feel your not suitable for their products/reputation)
4.) DECLINED (They don't like you! ~or~ you do not fit their criteria)

Now you simply scan through the 600 or so potential "Pay Checks" you now have at your disposal, and start placing ads, and making some seriousMONEY. They offer all the advertising banners, email text, and promotional codes you'll need.

Again, all this is Absolutely FREE!!!

So, before you open that next email, intensifying your erge to throw away good money... at a bad business idea, try this first!

Besides...unless your a seasoned marketing pro, chances are if you go joining a 1-Up, 2-Up, MLM, Pyramid Scheme, Reverse Funny System for $5,000 to start...That Odds Are You Will Lose.

Hell, if you wanna gamble, click my Party Poker Banner on my site, go dump your money into their casino's and I'll gladly take 35% of your losses just for sending you to them, and posting the Banner AD.

But, all kidding aside, I felt compelled to post this for the "Newbies" seeking to get into the Work From Home gig, as this is your safest bet!

Believe me, Terri and I have tried several online business's before learning this, and ultimately this is the way to do it. No up-front cost, no risk...just alittle time and effort! If you stick it out you'll do good.

Get creative, and always monitor your ads, content, and see what's working and what's not.

Here's a quick check-list:

1.) Sign-up for LinkShare FREE!

2.) Choose the Advertiser's You Want to work with, and get paid from;)

3.) Learn the "Publisher's Dashboard" you new Back Office"

.............(Take the Tutorial Video ~ Highly Recommended)

4.) Browse the types of ads you'd like to use (they're all Cut & Paste... mostly)

5.) Keep your sites clean (unless your advertising porn!)

6.) Study your "clicks" (see what ads are working)

7.) Be consistant (Time Management is the key)

8.) Join online marketing forums and ask "newbie" questions

9.) Grow a relationship with your Advertiser's (They are paying you!)

10.) Just be honest and creative

What is Affiliate Marketing?

The vast majority of consumers, or web surfers are not aware that nearly every credible company in the world offers what is called; an Affiliate Program or Partnership.

Simply put...Affiliate programs offer individuals like You a great opportunity to make money online from your current webpage(s), blog(s), or landing page(s). Not unlike Google's Adsense Program that pays you a few pennies everytime someone "clicks" a banner or advertisement on your webpage or blog.

Unlike Google's Adsense campaigns however, by joining FREE Affiliate Programs (Like the ones listed below), you are essentially in control of what ads you place on your web pages, and the amount of earned revenue you can generate for yourself.

You decide how much or how little you earn, by investing your time placing ads for these programs.

*I remember when we had first learned of the Affiliate Marketing concept, and joined our first program. I couldn't sleep! It was as if someone had just handed me the contents of the local mall and said;"Here's some stickers...put your stickers on as many products as you can, and if we sell that item with your sticker on it...we'll pay you 10% of the sale!!"

In short by registering and applying for an Affiliate Program you are essentially becoming a direct "partner" with the hosting "Affiliate" company. Companies like Microsoft, iTunes, CompUSA for example (along w/1000's of others) will pay you for every sale generated through your wesite or blog.

Some are set up for PPC"s (which is Pay Per Click), or after "X" amount of leads, as well. You have to read the terms of each company's affiliate program as they vary. I prefer direct sales commissions or membership referrals that pay residually if the members continue to pay their membership dues. You'll have to find your niche, and do what works for you. Don't be affraid to experiment.

Naturally, every program has a different payment plan, but the majority generally offer you a percentage of that sale, and will offer you several payment options to receive your commision earnings. (i.e. Check by mail, PayPal, Direct Deposit, etc...) ...Depending on the company or "Affiliate Program(s)" you join, they generally offer to pay out; weekly, Bi-weekly, monthly, or upon a "triggered" earned amount like $100.00 for example.

The best part is they provide you with everything you'll need to get started! There's no expensive software or programs needed to get started. Therefore, you can start your own business TODAY...with no money, and No Excuses!

Furthermore, the affiliate companies provide all the advertising tools you need to get started, like banner ads, flash banners, landing pages, textual ads, and a vast variety of great marketing tips, and stragedies...all ready to go!

Think about it...if you send them customers, and the customer spends money...of course they're going to teach you how to bring them more customers because customers = money! That's where you earn your FREE MONEY!!! (O.k. it's not free, but it doesn't get any simpler!!!)

If you join a program like LinkShare, they offer nearly 600 companies to apply to as an affiliate partner storehoused in one nice tightly run ship. They give you full control of tracking your ads, pending sales, and everything you need to ensure your efforts are not in vain.
