SEO Blogger Template

Just after my exams spent almost 4 hours doing a new professional template for you guys. The new template i am about to provide was used alone by me. So got the copy of it and made a lots of adjustments for further SEO optimization.

Note: Remove your blog description before installing this template. If you don't remove it the blog header will look bad, therefore make sure you remove the description of the blog.

1. I have added my blog header picture here so replace your blog header pic with the picture "Addicted Online". Search for this URL and replace it with your blog pic.

2. Your Adsense or top banner ads here. For some reason the text is shown below the pic but once your add your ad code you should see it on right free space.

3. This automatically fetches the post title and the URL and allows your readers to link to your page if you got some quality content and also your homepage.

4. Here it generates similar article of your blog posts (Internal Linking) but does not show anything in the example as i have only one article to that category.

5. Remember to change your feed URL and hope that you know how to change the form subscription within to your feed URL. Check "FEED URL".

6. Place your widgets here but i tried so many times to change the font color to white but i am missing something somewhere. Figure it out and change it if your good at it or else add a graphical widget for it..

Please go through the original blog of mine which this template has been installed and get an idea of what i am saying.

How can i confirm this is optimized?

Title: If your blog title is "Top SEO Training" and if your add a post as "How to SEO" the title for the post will be as "Top SEO Training How to SEO" by default in Blogger. Which is not good SEO, so what i have done is to have your post title alone instead of "blog title + blog page name". Your post title now is "How to SEO", which is therefore 100%
Body: You would have seen i have just scattered the keyword therefore it shows 5.2%, which in avg it is said for better SEO you should have 2% - 7%.
H1/H2/H3: I guess you know the weight Header tags carries and as i have added the Header tags at the top, middle and the bottom it's 60%
Links: Linking within is good SEO and the link is placed on the post title.
Bold: I have bolded the keyword in my article that is why it shows as 33%, but i have only bolded it once in Comment section, See PIC
Meta Tags: N/A and 0%. The reason is blogger does not have the option to have keywords to individual post. I gave my best try but could not go ahead of it

IF you have read my precious post on How to be a successful Blogger: Part 1, i have mentioned certain points that may help you understand to be a successful blogger. So today i will share some experience that may be worth reading and help you somewhat to improve your self to create a better blog.

Tips to be a successful blogger

Understand your targeted customers: If your creating a blog you may have a targeted customers for whom you think the blog is worth reading;may be kids, teens, older people or all age customers. So its important that you first understand who your planning to build the blog for.

Determining the purpose of your blog: The intention of creating a blog can be for either business or personal. Its important how you approach to the development of your blog by understanding is it for business or personal. A personal blog will not need much an effort but a business blog would require a lot of hardwork on understanding your targeted customers and how you tend to gain there interest about your blog.

Be realistic: Make your blog easy and simple and most importantly make your blog realistic. Make your blog real by making statements that is not catchy rather the truth and make your readers believe in you.

Be patient: To be a successful person you may need to have patient and wait for your time; that is to be success it wont happen on ease but could rather age more than a year, therefore be patient developing your blog with unique style and work your blog for the readers to love your blog rather making your existing readers disappear. Make every possible readers of your blog to turn again at your blog and carry the momentum and work on SEO strategies to gain success.

Make as much as possible inbound links: Always work on creating inbound links. You can achieve this by other web blogs or websites making links to your blog coz your blog is worth reading or you manually arrange other blogs to have links linking to your site. This will cause the internet community to know about your blog.

Promote your blog: Always find ways to promote your blog. A blog can be easily created but to promote your blog to a success is really hard because you may have other competitors of your blog king working hard. So always if you want to improve your blog make hardwork and understand the potential ways that you can promote your blog.

Best practices of SEO and SEM: To create a blog is easy but always before creating a blog or even after understand the ways in which you create your blog in favorable to the search engine (SEO) and after create your blog in friendly to search engines work possible ways to Search engine marketing because the best way to deliver traffic to your blog is Search engines.

These are some tips that i find that should be implemented in maintaining your blog and would aid bloggers to be in success.

Blogging your way to success is not a easy thing and to be a succesful blogger it cannot be achieved over night but as i always say hard work and dedication is what you require to be a succesful blogger. Anyone blogging for the first time will make a blog for himself keeping a pre plan and aiming at a certain goal and it may be a short term goal or may be a long term goal. When your blogging it is always necessary that you set your goals and plan your targets for the day, week, month or so.

10 Tips to be a successful blogger

As i started my topic with Goals, i'll start my tips with goals. Why am i saying is, if you set goals you tend to work hard to achieve it. So always make sure you set your Short term goals and Long term Goals.

When your blog posting, set your mind free and then start posting.

Be Unique on your post content and writing style.

Always show your self positive and confident on what your blog posting at.

Do not just make post for the purpose of increasing post count, post for the purpose your post is worth reading.

Do not just copy and paste what others have made before, instead show your self new.

Turn your self as a reader of your blog and understand the necessities your blog would require.

Make your blog space neat and attractive.

Always be broad and think of the other posibilities if your one set goal is failed.

Respect all the readers of your blog and make a friendly environment to hang on with.

If you have read most of my posts you would have seen or read my article on how to remove older posts and newer posts links. So today we will discuss how to replace an image instead of older posts and newer posts links. This hack is about replacing an image with the hyperlink instead of just the text link alone.

How to blog post in future/Schduled Post in Blogger

Certain days i get very busy on my work so what i simply do is, make some posts when i am free and then schedule the post to be automatically posted on a specific part of a time. Using this technique is one good way how you can improve your blog because google bots always refer for new pages so not to disapoint them and our readers, scheduling posts feature is very helpful. This feature was recently added to blogger and this was available before at Blogger Draft. Now let us see how we can schedule blog post in blogger.

How to blog post automatically in future

If you have noticed when you are composing your post in post editor you will find a option called "Post Options" just beside where you specify your labels. If your no sure just refer the image where i have marked it with red. So just click on it and you will be allowed to manage 3 elements Reader Comments, Backlinks and Post date and time. T o schedule your post just simply change date to a future date that you wish to publish on and click publish post and your done. And now if you have noticed your post will be refered to as scheduled post. That is it and now you have made a post on future and its time to relax.

How to remove label count in Blogger

When we add a label widget for blogger we have noticed the label count is displayed, that is the number of posts available in a particular label or category and some of you may want to remove label counts. This is a very simple hack to do so and let me show you how we can do it. We have discussed how labels can be used in blogger and for some of you who are unaware of this you can read here.

Remove numbers or counts in Blogger

Click on Layout

Click on Edit HTML

Tick on "Expand Widget"

And now find for this peice of code and delete it

Now save your template and your done

Now view your blog to see your Blogger label count disappear.

How to improve your Page Rank within 4 months

If you have read all my SEO posts you would have understood what Search engine optimization really is and the importance of Link building. And i know lot of people struggle on building links to achieve a better rankings. What i noticed is, some of the webmasters who work hard all day and night finally end up with nothing at all. The reason is they want to work hard to improve their ranking but they follow the wrong guide.

You may wonder, what are those wrong guides?. There are several mistakes webmasters follow and practice in order to improve their Page Rank but as this post is not relevant to the topic we shall not discuss all here but specify the main mistake that is assocciated to link building strategy that Google reckons bad and it is Link Exchange; Link exchange is good and a link in to your blog/site can improve your blog/site ranking; True, but have you also noticed Google for instance recruiting thousands of Phds' and Masters' to build a better ranking system and i also remember reading a lot of articles pointing out that link exchanges can get you into trouble and sometime the link in/out that you make with an irrelevant category blog/site can value nothing at all but rather bold out your rankings. So avoid much link exchanges as you can and try to gain a one way link back. If your blog/site is having a larger external links (links pointing out from your blog/site) than the internal links (links pointing in to your blog/site from other blog/sites) your blog/site may be in a situation like a person trying get off from drowning. The reasons may be several but one important instance is Bad Neighborhood.

So what i am really trying to say here is avoid much outbound links as you can, but you should also make sure you have made some external links to quality blogs/sites and search engines really likes this. So you may be wondering how can i get a one way link to your blog/site the answer is simple, work on it by submitting your blog/site to directories, post comments on blog, preferably to blog with CommentLuv and KeywordLuv plugin enabled, forums, article submission, press release and other one way link building strategies.

So if you really want to build one way link and improve your page rank within a shorter span of time, start working to generate one way link towards your blog/site now.

How to add a dropdown menu for labels in blogger

There are several ways how you can show up your labels in blogger and one good and simple way to show your labels is through a dropdown menu. Using a dropdown menu for your labels can be advantegeous in times when you have large number of labels and if you want to list them down it would cover up a lot of space, so having a dropdown menu for labels can sure help reduce unecessary space and look elegant. I have already made a post on how you can add a table of contents, and here i found this another alternative way and its just cool that you can add this as your widget. This tool works by adding your blog/site feed and it grabs your total feed posts and the most of all this tool can be customized to your needs very easily.

So here is the demo how it looks like:

You not only can show widget as your table of contents but also you can show your favorite blog/site feed updates in your blog/site. This widget by default will allow you to show up 25 posts and if you want to show lets say around 100 posts, simply add this way

Alexa Ranking is one of the tool that exist today to determine the rankings of a particular site/blog out of the many ranking system available like the Google page rank. So what is really Alexa about and how does Alexa ranking works?, Alexa is a subsidiary of Amazon and the ranking is based on the accordance to the number of users who have visited a site/blog with the Alexa toolbar installed.

How to add a floating image or banner to blogger

If you have seen my right side corner i have added this small floating feedburner chicklet, in order for readers to subscribe, so if you wish to add an image, link or what ever you want to float you can do so. I got to know of this from widgets for free blog, and for further tweaks or modification of this hack you can contact him. So here its how i added this floating image to my blog

Outbound Links and Inbound Links

Every webmasters who are aware of the effectiveness of Inbound and Outbound links will absolutely know to develop thier blog to the path of success. And often their are arguments and i too agree that the most important elements of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is Inbound and Outbound links. Most important part of SEO is inbound links because higher the inbound links to your site can make your blog/site get you a high Page Rank (PR), and high page rank as i am concerned can get you a good amount of traffic as well. So today as for SEO basics we shall discuss what is and what are the importance of Inbound and Outbound Links.

What is Outbound Links

Outbound links are the links that are pointing external to your blog/site. These links can be crucial in times and can get you into trouble. So always be aware of the outbound links that your going to point to.

Search engines often values each site and each of them has its own recogition and popularity, and there are many sites out in the web which has been penalized or search engine treats a particular site/blog simply not worthy. In that case if we are making links to sites/blogs which search engines reckons not worthy, can make our blog rankings down too. So be aware when your making outbound links also known as external links. These outbound links can be referred to as bad Neighbourhood; And you can analyse your blog neighbourhood here.

When your making outbound links try as much as you can to link a blog/site with a higher page rank and not with a blog/site that is below your Page Rank, the reason is arguable because some say when you do this it can lead you to bad neighbourhood and it can lower your PR, and boost PR of the blog/site that was less than yours that you were linking to. I am not quite sure of this but i have read several articles people arguing, so its better that we avoid.

Certain webmasters to be precautious they do not make any outbound links at all, or some reduce their outbound links as much as they could, this is not good SEO strategy. Make sure that you are making outbound links with quality blogs/sites that has a high PR and good blog/site ranking because SEO is also based on outbound links.

What is Inbound Links

Inbound links are the links that are pointing internally to your blog/site or web pages. Inbound links are often considered as the favourites of SEO. Inbound links can make a real value and increase your blog ranking.

There are lot of site/blog owners i know who just keep saying "I have a PR 0" and regret but do nothing to achieve it due to the reason that they do not know to overcome with a better PR or due to the fact that they know but do not want to strive. A good PR can never be achieved easily or overnight, its mainly based on hardwork and dedication. Simple strategy i would say is to make as many links in to your blog/site if you really want to boost your PR, because PR is based on inbound links. People argue that PR is not based on inbound links but its wrong, if you want to do a test on this consider a blog/site with a high PR and a blog/site with a lower PR and type

and get the results, this will list you the amount of inbound links and certainly higher PR site/blog will have a much more inbound links than the lower PR blog/site, reason is that PR is mainly based on inbound links.

Now that we understand inbound links are important to a achieve a good PR, but its not just inbound links alone that will take us up, it is also necessary that you have got inbound links that is related to your blog/site category. Lets say that you have a PR 2 and your running a site/blog that is related to Ebooks and if you have got a link back from a site/blog which has a PR of 5 but do not really have any means of relationship to your blog/site, this will not have much effect as expected, but a link back from a blog/site with a PR3 with similar category can get you 99% effect. So always make sure to get more inbound links from site/blog that is of your category.

How to Add a Link Back Widget

One of the reader here asked me how to display the link back code to allow readers to copy and paste, bascially the support us code that i have added on my right side widget. So today we will study on how we can implement this using basic Html script and Javascript.

You can add this widget using Html alone or by using both Javascript and Html. First we will learn the hard way, that is the manual way starting from the basics. And will be using the textarea field to implement this widget.

Basic Html knowledge on Textarea:
Rows = This referes to the number of rows your text area will occupy, that is simply the height of the text area.

Cols = This refers to the number of column your text area will occupy, that is simply the width of the text area.

Name = The Name of text area box.

Note: Make sure that you have replaced your Blog URL on the example provided URL.

This piece of code will allow you to display your specific link to be copied

It is this part of code that is used to allow auto select on button click. This is used with the help of javascript. And its important that you do not change this part of code, but if you wish to change the label name of the button you can do so by changing the "Select All" of Value element.

In the previous example we used the function on button, that is when the user hits the button the textarea get highlighted. Here will use a function with the help of javascript to highlight all the text area by clicking on Text Field.

2) Click on Add a Page element.
3) Click on Add Html/Havascript.

"Let search engines find your blog?": Always make sure that you chosen the "Yes" option in order for search engines to crawl your blog web pages.

"Show Email Post links?": This is another feature added recently by blogger and if you want to allow a email post link in every post of yours, make sure that you have made to "Yes", and also make sure that you have added this on Layout-Edit Post and have checked "Email Post Link".

"Comment moderation": This element will allow you to moderate comments, by accepting or rejecting each comment when a user has posted a comment and also you can use the comment alert feature, that is to send you an email when a comment has been posted.

"Comment Notification Email": Comment alert feature that you can use like discussed above.

Blogger Settings: Archiving
In this section is about how you can archive each of your blog post that you make.

Blogger Settings: Site Feed
In this section it allows you to manage your feeds

"Allow Blog Feeds": This part of the blog feed allow you syndicate short or full page

"Post Feed Redirect URL": By default you have RSS and Atom feed to blogger and if you wish to use another feed by burning a feed from another service like feedburner, you can do so by specifying the burned feed.

"Post feed footer": In this section you can allow ads or other third-party feed additions to display after each post and to allow this you'll have to "Enable Post Pages" to "Yes" (in Archiving settings) and set "Allow Blog Feeds" to "Full".

Blogger Settings: Email
In this section of the setting it allows you to manage your blog through email

"Mail-to-Blogger Address": In this section it allows you to specify a email address and allows you to publish a post or make a post draft to your blog, upto 10mb in size.

Blogger Settings: Permissions
Finally you have the Permission setting and this allow you to add authors upto 100 and to whom your blog can be visible to.

How to disable right click function

Tips on building links with high Page Rank blogs

I decided to start this topic because i see a lot of comments bieng posted but i guess lot of commentors make mistakes while commenting, may be its due to the reason that they do not want to build inbound links pointing to thier site, or due to the reason that they do not want to or do not know how to build links and its importance. So i decided to post this topic which will be helpful for webmasters who want to build links and increase there page rank.

There are several ways how you can build links through commenting on Do follow Blog/Sites and Forums, Social networking and etc. so here we will discuss how we can build links by commenting on do follow blogs.

As you know Blogger is one of the domain owned by Google and it has a Page Rank of 8, so if you want to get a good page rank start commenting on these blogs. So that now you want to build links so do a google search on "blogspot" as keyword query, and all the blogspot list will be displayed starting from the blog that has a high page rank, may be with the page rank 7 or 6. So now open up each blog and start commenting on them, but be sure that you do not spam around. Commenting on these blog can be very beneficial to achiecve a good Page Rank and also at the same time it can be very painful. Making 10 comments on these blogs per day, can give you more than 250 inbound links from all these blogs if accepted per month on minimum.

Tips on how you should commment.

Tip 1:
When commenting on Blogger blogspot blogs you have these "Name and URL", so select this option and comment as

Name: Your Blog Title

(ex: Bloggers University)
The reason is to enhance the keyword density pointing to your blog.

URL: Your Blog URL

Make sure that you specify your URL as above because certain format will not allow you to place a link, making comment on this format will definitely point a link to your site.

Tip 2:

How to add sitemap to google

Adding sitemap to google is one of the best practices of webmasters because suppose lets say that we have a blog and we are not absolute sure that all our web pages will be indexed by google due to various reasons, so letting us know to google bot "hey, here i have all these pages and have you indexed my pages" will let google index our rest of the pages too. As there are no automative ways that we our self can create a sitemap to blogger the one best way we can add sitemap is through google wabmasters tools

So here i'll explain you the step by step procedure how you can add sitemap to google.

Go to Google webmasters tools and login using your Google ID

Specify your url to Google webmasters to which website you want to add your sitemap

Next you need to verify, so that you can start adding sitemap of your site. To do this you need to place a code in your site or blog,

to do this you need to choose your options, in the case we want to add sitemap to our blogger blog, choose on "Add a Meta Tag"

Now you will be getting a piece of code that you need to place into your blog between your header section that is your head tag, as for example you can choose on "show me an example"

Now finally you need to add your sitemap, so now navigate to your sitemap page to add it,

How to add sitemap by using blogger default feeds

Now add your sitemap by the 2 default feed that blogger provides you with, thats is either

But unfortunately adding sitemap through standard blogger feed can allow you a max post is about 25 posts.

Add sitemap to google webmasters tools of more than 100 posts

Lets say that you have lot of posts in your blog and you can add all your posts in your sitemap by using the redirect function, that is just add the following code in front of your blog url, that is for example

This line of code will allow you a max of 100 posts to be added and suppose lets say you have a post more than 100, and in this case add a new sitemap as the following

http://bloggers-university.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=101&max-results=100

That is it, now be patient untill google indexes all your pages and come again later too see all your blog posts bieng indexed.
