Pakistan has also created its own intelligence agency to protect and safeguard its supreme national interests. Till date our primary intelligence agency ISI has successfully achieved its goals. Here is a recent list of top 10 Best Intelligence Agencies list as compiled by a famous blog site. What is worth mentioning here is that ISI tops the list as least funded and yet the one who got the best results.

10. ASIS – Australia
Formed 13 May 1952
Headquarters Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
Annual budget $162.5m AUD (2007)
Minister responsible The Hon. Stephen Smith MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs
Agency executive Nick Warner, Director-General
Australian Secret Intelligence Service is the Australian government intelligence agency responsible for collecting foreign intelligence, undertaking counter-intelligence activities and cooperation with other intelligence agencies overseas. For more than twenty years, the existence of the agency was a secret even from its own government. Its primary responsibility is gathering intelligence from mainly Asian and Pacific interests using agents stationed in a wide variety of areas. Its main purpose, as with most agencies, is to protect the country’s political and economic interests while ensuring safety for the people of Australia against national threats.

9. RAW – India
Formed 21 September 1968
Headquarters New Delhi, India
Agency executive K. C. Verma, Secretary (R)
Parent agency Prime Minister’s Office, GoI
Research and Analysis Wing is India’s external intelligence agency. It was formed in September 1968, after the newly independent Republic of India was faced with 2 consecutive wars, the Sino-Indian war of 1962 and the India-Pakistani war of 1965, as it was evident that a credible intelligence gathering setup was lacking. Its primary function is collection of external intelligence, counter-terrorism and covert operations. In addition, it is responsible for obtaining and analyzing information about foreign governments, corporations, and persons, in order to advise Indian foreign policymakers. Until the creation of R&AW, the Intelligence Bureau handled both internal and external intelligence.

8. DGSE – France
Formed April 2, 1982
Preceding agency External Documentation and Counter-Espionage Service
Minister responsible Hervé Morin, Minister of Defence
Agency executive Erard Corbin de Mangoux, Director
Directorate General for External Security is France’s external intelligence agency. Operating under the direction of the French ministry of defence, the agency works alongside the DCRI (the Central Directorate of Interior Intelligence) in providing intelligence and national security, notably by performing paramilitary and counterintelligence operations abroad. The General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) of France has a rather short history compared to other intelligence agencies in the region. It was officially founded in 1982 from a multitude of prior intelligence agencies in the country. Its primary focus is to gather intelligence from foreign sources to assist in military and strategic decisions for the country. The agency employs more than five thousand people.

7. FSB – Russia
Formed 3 April, 1995
Employees 350,000
Headquarters Lubyanka Square
Preceding agency KGB
The Federal Security Service of Russian Federation (FSD) is the main domestic security agency of the Russian Federation and the main successor agency of the Soviet-era Cheka, NKVD and KGB. The FSB is involved in counter-intelligence, internal and border security, counter-terrorism, and surveillance. Its headquarters are on Lubyanka Square, downtown Moscow, the same location as the former headquarters of the KGB. All law enforcement and intelligence agencies in Russia work under the guidance of FSB, if needed. For example, the GRU, spetsnaz and Internal Troops detachments of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs work together with the FSB in Chechnya. The FSB is responsible for internal security of the Russian state, counterespionage, and the fight against organized crime, terrorism, and drug smuggling. The number of FSB personnel and its budget remain state secrets, although the budget was reported to jump nearly 40% in 2006.

6. BND – Germany
Formed 1 April 1956
Employees 6,050
Agency executive Gehlen Organization
Parent agency Central Intelligence Group
The Bundesnachrichtendienst is the foreign intelligence agency of the German government, under the control of the Chancellor’s Office. The BND acts as an early warning system to alert the German government to threats to German interests from abroad. It depends heavily on wiretapping and electronic surveillance of international communications. It collects and evaluates information on a variety of areas such as international terrorism, WMD proliferation and illegal transfer of technology, organized crime, weapons and drug trafficking, money laundering, illegal migration and information warfare. As Germany’s only overseas intelligence service, the BND gathers both military and civil intelligence.

5. MSS – China
Jurisdiction People’s Republic of China
Headquarters Beijing
Agency executive Geng Huichang, Minister of State Security
Parent agency State Council
Ministry of State Security is the security agency of the People’s Republic of China. It is also probably the Chinese government’s largest and most active foreign intelligence agency, though it is also involved in domestic security matters. Article 4 of the Criminal Procedure Law gives the MSS the same authority to arrest or detain people as regular police for crimes involving state security with identical supervision by the procuratorates and the courts. It is headquartered near the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing. According to Liu Fuzhi, Secretary-General of the Commission for Politics and Law under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Public Security, the mission of the MSS is to ensure “the security of the state through effective measures against enemy agents, spies, and counter-revolutionary activities designed to sabotage or overthrow China’s socialist system.” One of the primary missions of the MSS is undoubtedly to gather foreign intelligence from targets in various countries overseas. Many MSS agents are said to have operated in the Greater China region (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) and to have integrated themselves into the world’s numerous overseas Chinese communities. At one point, nearly 120 agents who had been operating under non-official cover in the U.S., Canada, Western and Northern Europe, and Japan as businessmen, bankers, scholars, and journalists were recalled to China, a fact that demonstrates the broad geographical scope of MSS agent coverage.

4. CIA – America
Formed September 18, 1947
Employees 20,000
Agency executive Leon Panetta, Director
Parent agency Central Intelligence Group
CIA is the largest of the intelligence agencies and is responsible for gathering data from other countries that could impact U.S. policy. It is a civilian intelligence agency of the United States government responsible for providing national security intelligence to senior United States policymakers. The CIA also engages in covert activities at the request of the President of the United States of America. The CIA’s primary function is to collect information about foreign governments, corporations, and individuals, and to advise public policymakers. The agency conducts covert operations and paramilitary actions, and exerts foreign political influence through its Special Activities Division. It has failed to control terrorism activities including 9/11, Not even a single top level Al-Queda leader captured own its own in the past 9 years – ‘they missed 1 Million’ Soviet troops marching into Afghanistan’. Iraq’s Weapons of Mass Destruction, Have the found them yet? -Number of defectors/ double agents numbers close to a thousand. On 50th anniversary of CIA, President Clinton said ”By necessity, the American people will never know the full story of your courage. Indeed, no one knows that what CIA really does”. Highly funded and technologically most advanced Intelligence set-up in the world.

3. M1-6 – United Kingdom
Formed 1909 as the Secret Service Bureau
Jurisdiction Government of the United Kingdom
Headquarters Vauxhall Cross, London
Minister responsible The Rt Hon. William Hague MP, Foreign Secretary
Agency executive Sir John Sawers KCMG, Director General
Parent agency Foreign and Commonwealth Office
The British have had a long public perception of an effective intelligence agency (due to the success of the unrealistic, yet entertaining, James Bond movies). This perception matches reality. MI6, the British equivalent to the CIA, has had two big advantages in staying effective: The British Official Secrets Act and D notices can often prevent leaks (which have been the bane of the CIA’s existence). Some stories have emerged. In the Cold War, MI6 recruited Oleg Penkovsky, who played a key part in the favorable resolution of the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Oleg Gordievski, who operated for a decade before MI6 extracted him via Finland. The British were even aware of Norwood’s activities, but made the decision not to tip their hand. MI6 also is rumored to have sabotaged the Tu-144 supersonic airliner program by altering documents and making sure they fell into the hands of the KGB.

2. Mossad – Israel
Formed December 13, 1949 as the Central Institute for Coordination
Employees 1,200 (est)
Agency executive Meir Dagan, Director
Parent agency Office of the Prime Minister
The Mossad is responsible for intelligence collection and covert operations including paramilitary activities. It is one of the main entities in the Israeli Intelligence Community, along with Aman (military intelligence) and Shin Bet (internal security), but its director reports directly to the Prime Minister. The list of its successes is long. Israel’s intelligence agency is most famous for having taken out a number of PLO operatives in retaliation for the attack that killed eleven Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympic games in Munich. However, this agency has other success to its name, including the acquisition of a MiG-21 prior to the Six-Day war of 1967 and the theft of the plans for the Mirage 5 after the deal with France went sour. Mossad also assisted the United States in supporting Solidarity in Poland during the 1980s.

1. ISI – Pakistan
Formed 1948
Jurisdiction Government of Pakistan
Headquarters Islamabad, Pakistan
Agency executive Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha, PA Director General
With the lengthiest track record of success, the best know Intelligence so far on the scale of records is ISI. The Inter-Services Intelligence was created as an independent unit in 1948 in order to strengthen the performance of Pakistan’s Military Intelligence during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. Its success in achieving its goal without leading to a full scale invasion of Pakistan by the Soviets is a feat unmatched by any other through out the intelligence world. KGB, The best of its time, failed to counter ISI and protect Soviet interests in Central Asia. This GOLD MEDAL makes it rank higher than Mossad. It has had 0 double agents or Defectors through out its history, considering that in light of the whole war campaign it carried out from money earned by selling drugs bought from the very people it was bleeding, The Soviets. It has protected its Nuclear Weapons since formed and it has foiled Indian attempts to attain ultimate supremacy in the South-Asian theatres through internal destabilization of India. It is above All laws in its host country Pakistan ‘A State, with in a State’. Its policies are made ‘outside’ of all other institutions with the exception of The Army. Its personnel have never been caught on camera. Its is believed to have the highest number of agents worldwide, close to 10,000. The most striking thing is that its one of the least funded Intelligence agency out of the top 10 and still the strongest.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 295px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc56iwmZWUQKBmH5gwD-3wv6IkkgLrfyWt9CXvYx2MzLsGkCwEfHmDC4QJje7fyVIfEGJRB7GO9BzWmwb2tq-Qf6wPkYuC7yHnHt5TjXvZ9mH0gNrKTQbQNWyNEy1SbEYcoUSZIcnWoJA/s320/planecrash_wplay.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502901108369241314" />

I was really excited about going to watch 2012. The idea of a centuries-old prediction about the end of the world and its tell-tale signs seemed liked a fantastic premise for a film. The end of the world is a strongly held belief for all of us anyways, so I couldn’t wait to see this film’s take on it—which was supposed to be based on some ancient scriptures of the Mayan civilization. I never got around to watching the film so correct me if I’m wrong here.

Well anyways, there I was all excited to go and watch it, when one day one of my lecturers started talking about his visit to the cinema over the weekend. He’d gone to watch 2012 with a friend and I listened eagerly to what he had to say about the film. To my surprise, he went on to completely bash the film. In fact most people whom I spoke to had less than flattering feedback for the movie. Leaving the box office success of the film aside, I’m sure everyone agrees the plot was an excellent and rather relevant one.

Over the past decade, so much has happened that makes me believe more and more that the Day of Judgement isn’t so far. The recent spate of disasters just further reinforces my belief—for right or wrong—that the end isn’t too far away. Not very optimistic I know. I mean we’re still far away from the point of the sky turning red and mountains floating around like swabs of cotton wool, as is mentioned in Surah-al-Qariah. Nevertheless, when I think about Rubab Naqvi whom I met in a conference earlier this year and could not for the life of me have ever imagined what a cruel fate awaited her 5 months down the road. She was a born leader and an excellent speaker and neither could have her family imagined what fate awaited their daughter/sister as they dropped her off at the airport that ill-fated morning of 28th, neither could she herself have imagined that such a thing could possibly happen to her 5 minutes before the crash. And yet, look where she is now.

I also think about my aunt’s friends who were coming to Pakistan from Hong Kong to meet the prospective bride for their son. Everyone except the father dead.

The mother and son on their way to their husband’s/father’s funeral. Got to him sooner than they expected.

The newlywed couple who had gotten married just 5 days ago.

The family who couldn’t find a plane to take them to Peshawar so they decided to catch a flight to Islamabad and then fly on to Peshawar from there.

Through whatever relation, people throughout the country could relate to someone on that plane. Could a single person on that plane have thought that boarding this flight was the last thing that they would ever do?

As the country reeled from the shock of the plane crash, another blow was struck. Monsoon rains struck out with a vengeance, especially in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. Panic and destruction everywhere. Roads flooded and bridges broke down, a horror movie played out on our screens—or worse: outside of your windows!

Things were bad to begin with, what with all the political unrest and bomb attacks. But atleast in those cases there was a clear party to level the blame at. We pointed fingers and blew off our steam. When something like this happens, it’s even scarier because you don’t see a sinister motive behind all the devastation; you see Allah’s will in everything. Yes, the blame game is definitely going on in case of the crash, but what of the floods and landslides? Beginning from the 28th, bad stuff just started happening on a roll. The morning of 29th also saw the collapse of a KESC building in Karachi which killed 7 people and many others injured. Maybe I’m reading too much in the signs, maybe it was just human folly, but I think all that has happened in the past week or so is a wakeup call. Allah wants us to understand something. He wants us to know that he isn’t happy with us. He expects more from us. The hundreds of lives that were sacrificed in the past week should not go in vain. They stand the purpose of reminding all of us still here that we still await Allah’s Judgement and that day is bound to come around sooner or later. We need to push ourselves to be better than we are because all of us can be better. Allah loves us all. We need to love him more and pay heed to what He is saying to us. It would be folly to ignore His signs.

Let’s not wait till it’s too late. We all should realize by now that our plans and designs about life and death are all subject to Allah’s will. We were all forwarding messages on Shab-e-Barat and asking each other for forgiveness. We talked about our Aamal Nama being written for the ensuing year and the future of our life and death. But we talked about death superficially. We only thought about death fleetingly. All these dead people could never have known that this was their last Shab-e-Barat. That their book for this year was going to be really, really short. That it would end as soon as it began. Do any of us have the same surety about our life—or death?

In the end I’ll just share a message I got.

So many people have died in our country. Allah SWT may be angry with us. These are His small disasters. We should pray for the people who have died and do Astaghfar as it is the mafhoom of the ayat in Surah-al-Anfal that Allah SWT will not send His Azaab until a Prophet (S.A.W) is present among people, or there are people who do Astaghfar! “But Allah would not punish them while you (O Prophet S.A.W) were with them, nor will He punish them while they seek forgiveness.” (Surah-al-Anfal 8:33) So we should do as much Astaghfar as possible and pray for all the people dying in these accidents.

Spb Wireless Monitor (Control Your Traffic, Save Your Money)

SPB Wireless Monitor is a complete solution for measuring data traffic via all types of connections and calculating network usage costs according to your data plan.

Reports
Analyze your spending
* Time based and per-application reports
* Table and chart view
* Any period
* Export to HTML and CSV
Alarms

Stay within your budget
* Warning when usage limit exceeded
* Traffic and cost limits
* Easy and intuitive configuration
* Any number of alarms
Connections and Tariffs
Assign data plans to your connections. It was a madness of ideas, visions, madness of how dreams, dares and do’s come together to form the perfect blend of ‘Collective Genius’.

Let’s start with a little about TED and TEDxLahore

TED is a small nonprofit devoted to “ideas worth spreading”. The conference started out as a platform to unite people with innovative ideas from the world of: Technology, Entertainment and Design but now the scope has become even broader. As of today, over 700 TED Talks are available for free online.

TEDxLahore finds its association with TEDx, a program that enables schools, businesses or groups to enjoy a TED-like experience that they themselves organize, design and host.

The following review doesn’t run down with a spoiler label since my only aim is to put the post-event thoughts in a blender, shake’em up and then present to you whatever comes out of it – good or bad.

The Hype, Excitement, Oops! And the Hoo-Haa

The team made it sure that I enjoyed the experience throughout. For me, the excitement started the day I came to know about TEDxLahore through it’s Facebook fan-page and even though the event is now done and over, the excitement still hasn’t ended. From the attendee application form to how I waited for the approval email, the wait just kept adding more and more to the hype and fun.

I knew the day I signed up that I was about to be a part of something big, something brilliant, something exhilarating and TEDxLahore hasn’t let me down.

Now let’s move on to a little controversial talk – shall we?

Over a thousand applications were received but only a mere 380 were selected as attendees but the question that roams around the streets of mysteryville is how the attendees were selected, based on what criterion exactly?

For some of us, the “First come, first served” rule is enough to understand why some of us might have not been invited as attendees but for the rest of us I have another theory – The purpose of TEDxLahore wasn’t just to approve the attendee applications as they rolled in rather even consider the class of the applicant.

Teachers, designers, engineers, parents, journalists, technologists, entrepreneurs, students, professors, sportsmen, artists, writers are some of the many classes of attendees at TEDxLahore. Moreover it also matters how you filled out the application form since the team was probably hoping to look deep into your life experienceand ambitions instead of just knowing your name, age and location.

That brings it down to luck, wit, and enthusiasm but then again, it’s just my personal theory. On the other hand I think the TEDxLahore team could have done better by providing a sample of how the application form should be filled and as far as the issue of not notifying the rejected applicants is concerned, that was perhaps totally unprofessional on their part.

The Speakers, Talks, Performances and the Glitches

The choice of speakers was wise but the choice of numbers wasn’t. I personally would have preferred cutting down on the number of speakers and a primary focus on technology – but then again that’s just me. Perhaps language, culture, art define the flavor of the city of Lahore and perhaps that’s an experience that the organizers wanted the attendees to have.

I would label Dr. ZeeshanUsmani as the showstopper for the event for his brilliant sense of humor mixed with the great talk on ‘modeling a suicide bombing’, now that’s what you call innovation. The performance by NoorZehra (mother of Ali Noor from ‘Noori’) and the brilliant Tabla/Drum play by a group at the end of the show were the toppings of the delicious experience.

Much like any other event, TEDxLahore had some repelling elements but for all the learning and experience that the platform provided me with, I would happily want to ignore of all of it.

At the end of the day its for us to realize that nothing is perfect every new beginning is a start of something big and TEDxLahore is one such beginning for all of us, for many years and many experiences that are yet to come. Kudos to the AsimFayaz, the curator, and kudos to the team.

3G Spectrums to be Auctioned Shortly: PTA Chief

The 3G (Third Generation) spectrums have been decided to be auctioned in the next three to four months and subsequently its policy framework would be finalized by the ministry, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Dr Muhammad Yaseen said.

Talking in the seminar “Demand for 3G and beyond” on Monday, he brushed aside an impression that cellular operators are not willing to enter 3G technology and said there are certain operators supporting the regulator to introduce advancement in the market.

He said cellular operators have expressed apprehensions on the launch of 3G technology, which we are trying to clarify regarding the concerns of revenues and demands in the local market.

PTA chief citing India as an example of 3G market with limited users and revenues added that “We have explained operators the regional markets’ trends and significance of generating revenues in limited demanding market.”

“We (PTA) will offer cellular operators spectrum as they are already license holders of the regulator but they are not bound to launch 3G or 4G because we will give them a choice, so its up to them,” he said. He said the localization of value-added service contents needs to be developed rapidly in accordance with domestic market requirements that will not only promote business at domestic level but will also incite demand of its application through 3G technology on mobile phone.

“Zong has earlier offered a business deal to share 60 percent revenues with content developers and designers of mobile phone and Mobilink has now come up with an offer of 70 percent earning share to them that sounds encouraging to IT programmers in the industry,” Dr Yaseen added.

The seminar was organized by PTA in collaboration with HUAWEI, the network infrastructure maker. CEOs of telecom operators and IT firms, experts and students attended presentations of different technical sessions. Speaking as the chief guest, secretary Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Naguibullah Malik said most of the work has been done in the formation of a comprehensive policy on 3G; however, certain administrative procedures have yet to be taken to conclude the policy phase.

He said he respected the views of all stakeholders of the industry on the launch of 3G technology but the government is always smart to address the national interest of the country, which is supreme to all of us.

A great deal of the ministry’s homework has completed and it is now the responsibility of private sector to render its support to build up the telecom industry towards advancement. Malik said industry stands on a triangle based on policy and regulatory regimes with business models therefore, sound collaborative efforts need to be taken on each part and all stakeholders must be on board for a particular task.

“It is the right time for industry to go for 3G but it could not be done hastily, it takes time and a series of seminars being held in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi is the part of its awareness campaign among all stakeholders of the telecom industry,” he said and added that “terming 3G made delayed is not appropriate because there was not substantial preparedness for it in the past”. Pointing out to the students’ fraternity in the seminar, he said Pakistan is heading towards 3G to be very fair, to be competent and to be judicious.

10th ITCN Asia Exhibition Commencing from Today

The 10th ITCN Asia Exhibition and Conference to commence from August 3 at Karachi Expo Centre. Pakistan should capitalize on its human capital to make innovation as one of the key factors for creating a knowledge-based economy,” said Dr Arshad Ali, Director General of School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Sciences, NUST. The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has organized an Innovation Leaders’ Summit on Wednesday 04 August, at its Islamabad campus.

The theme of the summit has been proposed advancement, innovation and trend-setting. Marked improvement was witnessed in Pakistan’s capacity for innovation, which went up to 56 from 73 in 2008-09. An SMS will be sent to your number:

“Your Double Number is 033XXXXXXXX. Charges Rs.30 + Tax / Month. Please dial 66 followed by any number and make calls from your Double Number.”

Now you can make calls and send SMS from your assigned Double Number instantly by dialing 66 before the number you are calling or sending a message to.Example: if your assigned Double Number is 03335100011 and you want to make a call to 03331234567 you will dial 6603331234567. The receiver will receive the number from 03335100011.
Similarly to send an SMS to 03331234567 you will write the SMS and send it with the prefix “66” i.e.Type message: “How are you?” and send it to 6603331234567. The receiver will receive the SMS from 03335100011.
Both users can talk to each other whereas billing will be done to primary number on per minute basis.
If 03331234567 want to make call or SMS to 03335100011, user will simply dial 03335100011 and the call/SMS will be routed to 03335100012 (the primary number).

Additional features of the service:

Users can switch off/on their Double Number any time or for specific time period.
Bar a Caller – You will not receive calls from selected number on your Double Number.
Bar All Callers – All incoming calls on Double Number will be blocked
Unblock All Callers – All incoming calls on Double Number will be allowed
Unblock a Caller – You will start receiving calls from number that you blocked.

Why you must have it:

There are so many reasons that this service is a must have. You can also use your Double Number to call unknown numbers if you don’t want everybody to know your primary number.

Double Numbers for Double Businesses: If you require 2 numbers for your business, you can do so on the same SIM

Separate Friends Circles: While your family and close friends are in touch with you on your primary number, you can give your acquaintances your Double Number which you can switch off at any time.

It’s hard to avoid you now: If you are trying to reach someone who is intentionally not taking your calls or responding to your messages, a call from a new Double Number might do the trick.

Screen unwanted calls: You can maintain a block list for on your Double Number, if you do not wish to receive calls of SMS from certain numbers.

Get a second number without the hassle: Get a new number for yourself without losing important messages or contacts from your device and revert to your original number whenever you feel like it. The new browser is called the Torch Mobile browser. It is based on WebKit, the same engine used by Apple and Google.Blackberry is under threat by Apple and Android(Google phone). So to compete,BlackBerry comes up with new Operating System.

The whole user interface gets a facelift with crisper icons and visuals, new graphics, animations and transitions. There’s also a new homescreen with multiple views based on content type (all, favorite apps, downloads, media, etc.) as well as universal search.

Perhaps the most exciting feature of BlackBerry 6 OS is the WebKit browser. One of the biggest weaknesses of the current version of the BlackBerry platform is its clunky, hard to navigate browser. Webkit is the same technology behind Apple’s Safari browser on the iPhone’s OS. The Android Web browser as well as the Symbian S60 browser are also built around Webkit.

And keeping with the trend of social network integration we’ve seen on other platforms, like HTC Sense for Android for example, BlackBerry 6 will have a “social networking feeds” app that will combine status updates from Facebook and Twitter. You’ll also be able to chat with your friends via a slew of different messaging services like Google Talk, BlackBerry Messenger and AIM within one seamless application.

BlackBerry Torch brings in a full QWERTY keyboard and a 3.2″ HVGA+ (480 x 360 pixels) display in an acceptably thicl 14.6mm body. The tri-band 3G handset packs Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS, making up for an excellent all-round connectivity.

The 5 megapixel autofocus snapper on the BlackBerry Torch 9800 back is capable of recording videos up to VGA resolution. There is 512 MB of operating memory on board, while the storage capacity is 4GB, expandable by up to 32GB through the microSD card slot. There will also be a 4GB card included in every retail package.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 will be offered exclusively (at least in the US) to AT&T customers, starting from 12 August.
