the perfect sale.

i bet anyone who regularly reads my blog

knows that i am selling many of my collections.

this week it was this collection of 11 antique butter paddles.

i listed them in little groups,

but my secret hope

was that one person would buy them all.

and yesterday someone did.

all of them are going to stay together and

they have already left for their new home in kentucky.

since all the rubber stamps are up for sale (or already sold) i rearranged the domes

on this old blue blanket chest.

these domes are right next to me when i sit on the couch

and i love looking at them.

all the domes and everything else in this display came from

local estate sales.

even the beach stones, the antique blue blanket chest, and the old microscope.

these are the only vintage "office" rubber stamps left.

i only have the copy stamps left because i had 7 of them

in my stash.

and i had two of these "by messenger" stamps.

i am going to be working on alphabet and picture stamps next,

but i have to check and make sure they still "stamp".

some of them seem to be too stiff and dried out to make

a good stamping impression.

i might have to keep them as display props if i can't get them to work.

that is one of the comments i got yesterday

about where all the stuff i am selling was

stored at my house.

here is the answer for the vintage "office" rubber stamps.

one of these three places.

right in the family room.

under a dome or in a bowl.

now something else has already taken their place.

who are buying pretty much as fast as i list them.

while i can't say i have listed EVERY single vintage button in my house....

i am pretty close to it.

and ready to move on after months of button listings.

note to self... close eyes if any buttons appear before me at estate sales.

whew.

happily, the results of my lifetime of button buying are rapidly

finding new homes around the world.

i know they will be very happy there

instead of packed away in tins in my basement studio.

i am feeling very productive and ready to move on to other

collections.

maybe vintage rubber stamps next?

and oh, yes, vintage buckles... hmmmmm.

almost everyday product photos are being taken on the coffee table

right in front of this display of props.

but this weekend i just relaxed and enjoyed

the lovely spring weather

and instead the coffee table just held a cup of coffee or two.

i am still working on my lifetime collection of buttons.

i estimate that i am about a third done

with listing all the buttons i have.

these mother of pearl buttons

have been the most fun to photograph.

i love the variations in coloring and

many times i like the back sides the best.

my snowmen

for about 3 years when i was still doing shows

i made these little bottle snowmen

to sell at christmas.

i made and sold hundreds of them.

when i stopped doing shows

i had a few left and now they

are listed in my etsy shop.

these particular snowmen

were made using wisconsin

cream testing bottles.

i am adding additional christmas items

just a quick hello.

i can't believe how busy i have been on etsy.

i have just a handful of vintage beaded garlands

i posted about a couple of weeks ago.

when i finally counted them there were 80+ garlands.

that's what a lifetime of collecting gets you.

i am selling all of my vintage christmas collections

and adding lots of new items every day.

the sun is shining!

i have to admit that i don't buy much for myself anymore.

i have more than enough "stuff".

but something about a recent estate sale ad caught my attention so

i decided to take a look.

so my first step was to google map the address.

but there was no such street.

then i had to get creative. i found an address that looked similar

and off i went.

my tenacity paid off and i found the sale, but because of the address error

a lot of others didn't. lucky for me. not so good for the sellers.

and i love what i found.

these are my favorite things. a lovely old wooden bowl and

pretty old primitive cutlery.

have you ever had a lucky hunch that has gotten you a wonderful find?
