Regarded as an escape from reality in tomorrow's world, where people show their superiority and attack every now and again instead of all evil galaxy to galaxy immortality in the way, a recurring theme that enjoy the most Hollywood filmmakers killing one at the box office.

MICHAEL JACKSON was planning to make a feature-length big screen version of his hit THRILLER video when he died.

Close friend and Jackson's comeback tour director Kenny Ortega reveals he had discussed several movie projects with the star - including a Thriller movie, and a film version of Peter Allen musical Legs Diamond.

Ortega tells PerezHilton.com, 'He told me he wanted to create a partnership with me to do films. We were talking about doing Legs Diamond. And we were talking about doing a full-length, 3-D feature of Thriller.'

Sony Pictures boss Amy Pascal has also revealed Jackson approached her to discuss movie ideas, including a musical fantasy called Midknight and a remake of British musical The Red Shoes, based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale about a 'ballet dancer whose compulsion to dance ultimately destroys any hope she once had of a normal life, leading to her tragic death'.

Jackson died from a cardiac arrest in June (09) at the age of 50.

Walt Disney is to buy Spider-Man company for USD 4 bn

Entertainment major Walt Disney Company will acquire Marvel Entertainment, the firm well known for comics of super heroes, for an estimated USD 4 billion in a cash and stock deal.

The proposed transaction has been approved by the boards of both companies.

In a statement, Disney chief executive Bob Iger said that "adding Marvel to Disney's unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation." "We are pleased to bring this talent and these great assets to Disney." Under the terms of the deal, Marvel shareholders will receive a total of $30 per share in cash plus approximately 0.745 Disney shares for each Marvel share they own. In return, Disney will get the rights to over 5,000 Marvel characters, many of which have much stronger box office allure than Disney's traditional stable of characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The three Spider-Man movies alone have generated some $2.5 billion in worldwide box office receipts. The acquisition reflects Disney's long-term strategy of adding to its cast of characters and talent as when it bought animation powerhouse Pixar for $7.4 billion in 2006. The Marvel deal also gives Disney a key brand for connecting with teenage boys, a market that has been overshadowed by the popularity of stars such as Hannah Montana with girls. "Disney is the perfect home for Marvel's fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses," said Marvel chief executive Ike Perlmutter.

According to Michael Jackson family attorney Brian Oxman, the King of Pop feared people were keen to end his life for his money and music publishing rights. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is set to star in his first Hollywood film alongside Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet, if reports are to be believed. Helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Pan Nalin, the film will show the funny side of an Indian mental asylum in 1947 during the partition of India. The film is based on a Pakistani play 'Toba Tek Singh' by Sadat Hasan Manto, reports femalefirst.co.uk. Winslet is lined up for the film but if she rejects, Nalin has plans to approach actress Rachel Weisz to play the role. 'Either Kate or Rachel will be doing my film. I will be meeting both of them after my Cannes trip to finalise the casting. Either of them will be able to do justice to this marvellous story,' said Nalin.

The actress would compete with Dreamgirls co-star Jennifer Hudson in the Female R&B Artist of the Year and the Best Actress category.

Britney's ex-manager may pay her legal fees

Pop princess Britney Spears' ex-manager Sam Lutfi may be asked to foot her legal fees in a new move by the singer's lawyers.
Lutfi, who has been slapped with a three-year restraining order, may have to dole out 123,142 dollars to cover the fees brought about by the courtroom battle over the restraining order, reports People magazine.

Spears' lawyers asked a Los Angeles court to order him to pay, and they are also seeking 129,922 dollars from Jon Eardley, an attorney who has challenged Jamie Spears' control over his daughter.

They are also seeking 72,292 dollars from her ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, and both he and Eardley have been ordered to stay away from the pop star.

A judge has yet to sign off on the request.

The pop superstar is currently preparing to take to the stage in London for his first gigs since 2001, a run of 50 dates at the city's O2 Arena, starting July.

But bosses at All Good Entertainment are seeking to block the shows, reports contactmusic.com. They are insisting they had in 2008 entered into an agreement with Jackson's manager, Frank Dileo, promising the star would appear with his sister Janet Jackson and their brothers on tour. Jackson was allegedly prohibited from making another concert deal for 18 months as part of the contract, but he violated the clause when he signed up for the London concert series. The promoters have now sent a cease and desist letter to Jackson's London concert organisers.

Pop queen Madonna was rushed to hospital after she fell off her horse while horseback riding in the Hamptons.Although injuries were not serious, the Material Girl was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures, reports TMZ. Madonna was at the home of photographer Steven Klein at the time and was reportedly wearing full riding gear, including a helmet, when she fell, reports Daily Telegraph. This is the second time Madonna has fallen from the horse. In 2005, she fell while riding in London on her birthday and suffered several broken bones. Unique artwork for Harry Potter books is to be auctioned at the Glasgow Art Fair. Drawings by the acclaimed artist Cliff Wright, who illustrated the book Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, are to go under the hammer later this month. The drawings are the instantly recognizable forerunners of the images, which appeared on the front and back covers of the second novel of JK Rowling's series. illustration, which features the bespectacled wizard and his classmate Hermione Granger clinging to the back of Hippocratic, is expected to fetch 13,000 pounds.

The Drawings are part of a series of 10 which were sent to the publisher Bloomsbury as rough ideas for character development and composition," he said. "Each drawing was submitted by fax and returned with comments. The designs were also passed on to JK Rowling for her approval and any comments passed back to me," the Scotsman quoted Wright as saying.

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen offended pop superstar Madonna by making fun of her attempt to adopt an African baby in his new movie 'Bruno' but apologised later by sending her a bouquet of flowers. When Cohen infamous for offending people in general, in the movie collects an African baby out of a luggage at an airport and then comes on US talk shows defending the adoption just as Madonna did, mirror.co.uk reports. From a reputed : 'Sacha is always out to make great comedy - and if he upsets people along the way, so be it.
