Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box

My post on the Urban Decay Fall Line inspired me to bust out my only UD shadow palette! I bought it a couple months ago but I've been neglecting it! I've only used it once for my Simple Smokey Eyes FOTD but other than that it's been collecting dust in one of my drawers. =[ I guess I'm kind of discriminatory when it comes to make up! UD was actually one of my first fave higher end brands but when I discovered MAC and how it was cheaper & had a wider range of colors I completely forgot about all the other brands. I think it's time to start branching out more so I'm gonna post swatches of this palette then you guys can pick which colors I should use for my next FOTD! =]

This is the palette. I bought it from Ulta but you can also buy it at Sephora & urbandecay.com. It retails for $39 at Ulta & urbandecay.com but at Sephora it's only $36. But a discount for you fellow college kids out there - every first Tuesday of the month, Ulta gives 20% off your ENTIRE purchase [including fragrance & prestige brands] with a valid college ID!! So if you don't have one make one of your friends get it for you! I got mine for only $30 because of it! Another bonus is the set comes with a mini UDPP.

You can tell that I barely use these! There's a lot of great colors to choose from and even a brush that comes in the palette. I'm not really a fan of the brush it's too small but the bristles are soft, not scratchy at all - I think they're synthetic.

And of course, the swatches:

Generally I love UD's brown shadows. They're really pigmented and they apply smoothly - like Twice Baked & Half Baked. I wish Flipside & Kiddie Pool were a little more pigmented but if you apply a lot of layers it comes out pretty close to what's in the palette. Let me know which ones you would like to see on a FOTD!

WHAT EYEKO SAYS: Put tired eyes to bed and banish blemishes. Featuring a skin friendly formula combining purified water and jojoba for colour that glides on for a seamless finish and stays put. "It's easy to fake a good nights sleep with this luminous concealer with a silky finish for wide awake eyes in an instant."

PROS
+ The packaging makes it convenient for ladies on the go.
+ Surprisingly, the consistency is nice. It's not too creamy, but not too thin. I think the right consistency for covering blemishes.
+ Comes with a built in brush, so you don't have to use your fingers.
+ Reasonably price at $8

CONS
+ It only comes in one shade.
+ You can't see how much product is left.

COMMENTS: Overall I like the Eyeko concealer. It has a great consistency and I love that you can throw it in your purse! But the deal breaker for me is that it only comes in one shade! And it's wayyy to light for me! If they produced more shades I think I would definitely repurchase this. Here's some comparison swatches with the eyeko concealer vs. my MAC Studio Finish Concealers.

But since I hate letting any products go to waste, I got this tip from Tina Marie! Use concealer that is too light for you to highlight under your brows after filling them in. It conceals those tiny hairs that are too small/thin to pluck out but are still slightly noticeable. After highlighting under the brows, I continue with my normal eyeshadow application and apply eyeshadow highlighter over the concealer.

If you are one of the fairer skinned ladies out there, I think this is a great concealer to keep in your make up bag. But if you're darker toned like me, you can skip this!

Urban Decay Fall Line

Urban Decay released it's new fall products earlier this month and if you go to their website you can click through their little flip book to check them out!

The first product is their Ink For Eyes. For $22 you get a little rectangle compact with a double sided brush with a mini mirror. I'd love to try these someday but at $22 a pop, I'm gonna stick with my fluidline until I get some extra cash! It seems really convenient for taking on the go and you don't have to worry about getting your brush all mushed up.

The next products is the new Face Primers! I really wanna try these since I'm not particularly fond of MAC's Prep + Prime Skin [although I still use it because I need a primer & I don't want it to go to waste!] There's 2 different formulas, both $30 each. A Brightening formula made for mature skin to minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles as well as a Pore Perfecting formula for an airbrushed look. It says that the Pore Perfecting primer is ideal for oily skin but can be used for dry skin as well.

The Eyelash Primer Potion for $20 seems like any other mascara primer - white, made to make lashes thicker and longer.

The Lip Primer Potion claims that "color will appear truer, last longer, will not fade or feather."

They also released 3 new deluxe shades! I have 3 deluxe shadows from Urban Decay - Adore, Graffiti, & Peace - and I love them all! They're super pigmented and they apply like a dream. The new colors are Ruthless, Frigid, & Freakshow. Ruthless is described as pale sandy taupe shimmer, Frigid a deep purple with blue sheen, and Freakshow a deep purple with red sheen. Each shadow is $18 each.

Along with 3 new shadows, they also released 3 new lipsticks in Oil Slick, Confession, and Naked. Black lipsticks have been popping up everywhere! But Naked looks like a really pretty nude color. At first glance, I'm not particularly fond of their lipstick packaging because there's a little dagger on the bottom which means they can't stand up! =[ The price is also kind of a deal breaker - each lipstick is $22 - but I wouldn't mind trying it.

2 new 24/7 Lip Liners in Paranoid & Wallflower for $16 each

Their Cream To Powder Foundation reminds me of MAC's Studio Tech, although I've never tried it. For $34 it comes with it's own brush.

And lastly 4 new shades of their Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup for $29 each

Overall I think UD released quite a few things I would loove to try but I wish their price tag was a little cheaper! If you've tried any of these I'd love to hear what you think about them!

My first ever reader question post! I'm so grateful for all my followers/subscribers thank you sooo much for reading! There's only 2 questions but I figured it might help out a few other people too. =] I know I'm not an expert of any kind but feel free to ask any questions at any time!

How do those MAC wipes work for you?
+ Personally I looooove MAC wipes with a passion! I've been using them religiously ever since I discovered them! It scrubs off all my make up and I love the smell. Also when I researched it, MAC wipes are actually around the same price as drugstore brands. A pack of Neutrogena wipes can run you around $6 for a pack of 25 which is rougly $0.24 a pack while MAC wipes are $25 for a pack of 100 which is $0.25 a pack. The reason I choose MAC wipes? Because I can B2M them! =] Plus the packaging is really efficient it's resealable but not those resealable tapes, it actually has a lid. The 100 pack lasts me quite a while too I think I started using wipes a year ago and I've only bought them 3 times. =]

FOTD: Smokey Green

Last night I depotted a couple of my eyeshadows and I finally filled up my Green Palette! =] I love seeing a full palette! But it made me realize how much I neglect my green e/s because there's barely a dent in any of them. For this FOTD I used all greens and I didn't even use Carbon! yayy I used Aquavert from the Sugarsweet Collection [originally from Lure collection] & Flourishing from the Matte2 collection [now DC] plus Bio Green which is a pro color. Aquavert was one of the colors I depotted and I looove this color. It's such a pretty minty green color I think it looks great as a lid color. Hope you like it!

Last night the hubby, sister, her bf, & I went to watch Bruno! It had it's parts and it was really funny but it's really graphic! If you're homophobic DO NOT watch it! There were so many guys who had to leave the movie theater cause they couldn't take it! But here's the look I was wearing out. It's more of a natural/smokey look since I don't do very many of those. (You know I love my colors!) My hair is suuuper wavy! I always straighten my hair but this is what it ends up looking like after I shower, brush it once, and let it dry. Hella wavy beach hair!

I saw an ad in Cosmo for mascara and I really wanted to recreate it so I came up with this look. I can't find the magazine though but I'll show you when I do! It reminded me of the Tiffany & Co. teal color! Aquadisiac is one of my favorite teals even though I don't get much use out of it. Even though it's a lustre & most of MAC's lustre finishes don't have that much color pay off, Aquadisiac is one of the few that actually does. This look is really simple I'm just using a lid, crease, & highlight color. I'm even using Copperplate from my Sumo haul.

LOL sorry I'm really bad at coming up with names for my FOTDs! I'm really satisfied with my recent MAC haul because I love everything that I got! I go through MAC wipes like crazy, my brow gels almost gone, and I've really been lemming these colors for a while. The one I love the most though is my Naked pigment! I don't have very many pigments because I tend to lean towards my regular MAC e/s instead just because I pop open a palette and there they are. Plus I'm super messy when it comes to loose shadows. But I am in looove love love love love with Naked because it's suchh a pretty color. It's like a shimmery light tan color and it pretty much goes with everything. Expect to see a couple more FOTDs with me using it! I also love my Angel L/S. I've read somewhere that Kim Kardashian's favorite lip combo is Angel L/S + NARS Turkish Delight L/G and omg it's like the perfect nude pink lip! I can't get over it. haha
