A local New Jersey paper called her as one of the New Jersey's great black musicians.
Phoebe is amused by the declaration describing her as black,as she knows that no one in her family is or was black. But she wants to make sure of her roots, so she is planning to take the DNA test. Phoebe gained fame with "poetry man", but could pursue her music career, because she had to take care of her daughter Valerie, who was born with a severely damaged brain. She devoted 31 years of her life to her daughter who died in 2007.
Phoebe Snow

The mainstay of Philadelphia Eagles'defense is leaving his team for better pay check at Denver Broncos. Well this is the trend now a days. But it is more heart wrenching in this case. Brian Dawkins has been with Philadelphia Eagles from the first day of his professional career. Rumors are rife that he will be taking Ray Lewis along with him. The aging star is likely to retire with Denver Broncos as there is no other alternative for him now. She is one of my favorite Pakistani actresses. I was also surprised to find out that she was the original choice for Heena. I am sure if she had accepted the role, the movie would have been one of the biggest hits instead of the dud flop that was made.
Dhoop Kinarey
Shehnaz Sheikh

Most often the past memory associated with the song is related to a place I lived before. Sometimes a song reminds me of my state of mind at a particular time. Whenever I hear the song Awaaz do humko, hum Kho Gaye, kab neend se jage kab so gaye from the movie Dushman( starring Kajol, Jas Arora and Sanjay Dutt), I feel a jab of pain in my heart. I was passing through a low period in my life at the time when this movie was released. The song became a major hit and used to play everywhere.
Another song which reminds me of something is 'Jhoom barabar jhoom' from the movie with the same name. We were in London when Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was released. My daughter liked this song so much that I had to play it over ten times a day. Now when I get to hear this song it reminds me of London, and the house where we used to live.
The third memory is very recent. Last year when we were here in Edinburgh, Ananya's favorite cartoon was Bambi, and she watched it repeatedly. Now when she watches the cartoon movie, I feel as if I am in that same house where we lived a year ago.

When we were in London, we used to go to nearly every major music concert in the city. We will be going to Newport for Isle of Wight Festival 2009. I have yet to confirm the booking at Shanklin Accommodation.
I hear that Basement Jaxx have confirmed their participation in the festival. Isle of Wight Festival 2009 is a well known music festival where international as well as famous homegrown bands play. In 2007, Rolling stones performed here after many years. Other music celebrities who have participated in the festival include Bob Dylon, Chris Martin, David Bowie and Jimmy Hendirx to name a few.

Now her mother is very fond of watching Balkia Vadhu, and she insisted that I watch should watch it too. I am not that great a fan of Indian soap operas. After she had finished watching her favorite show, I decided to watch Madagascar: Escape to Africa. And I couldn't find any link to watch it online for free! Can you believe it? I mean there are sites which claim to provide free movies , but actually direct you to other links but all of them lead to a particular site which require you to download their toolbar. I don't trust such sites.
So I went on to my search for Madagascar, and landed on Moviesplanet.com. Its a site where you can watch movies online for free. You can and download movies too. The site provides links to watch the movies. There are many TV shows also to watch. You also have different sections like Mistakes, Trivia, Soundtrack, etc. to give you additional information about the movie or the show you want to watch.
The one category which I found cool, is called knots, It basically tells you how many times a particular movie had been referenced in other movies or which movies make a dig at this film. You will also find latest news related to celebrities and movies here.
How the site works: You search for a movie by typing the name of the movie, you are taken to overview page where you get the summary of the movie. On the upper right corner you will find an icon Watch Online. I think this icon should be placed below the image of the movie, so that the first timers or the ones who have landed on the site through search engines, don't find it an uphill task to find the link. The links are for watching the movie online as well as for downloading it. I give a thumbs up to moviesplanet.com, because only this site provided me the link to my daughter's favorite movie " Finding Nemo." I couldn't find a single link elsewhere, and was thinking of downloading a torrent ( again a very risky procedure, you never know if the file is infected) before I found it on MoviesPlanet.

In this episode, Lydakar is after Max. This is the show that catapulted Jessica Alba to fame. She plays the main lead Max Guevara. She has been taken to the jail after a failed attempt to steal her pills from a pharmacy. Logan is worried as she isn't returning his calls. He goes to the courier company's base and finds out that she hasn't reported there either. He tracks her down by hacking the jail's computer. Logan asks Original Cindy to help him get Max out of jail.He puts Cindy in jail with the help of a police officer friend. Max has been transferred to Jailer's quarters, where her condition is getting worse by the hour. Original Cindy gets into the warden's apartment with the help of a friendly first-timer. When Max has taken her medicine, and the jailer comes to threaten her, she grabs him by the neck and pulls him high. Cindy intervenes. "Damn girl, what was in those pills?" And Max replies"-Spinach."
I haven't watched the other part yet. Of course Max would get away easily now that she has had her pills. It will be good to see Lydakar's face when he fails once more.
Those who don't know what I am talking about, let me get you acquainted with the most riveting futuristic TV Shows. Dark Angel started in 1990s and it lasted only two seasons, but not before it had acquired millions of fans like me. The idiots at FOX, didn't give any explanations of taking the show off the air midway.
Dark Angle tells the crusade of a transgenic to trace her lost brothers and sisters after they escaped from the facility called Manticore. Manticore was a project to turn humans into war machines by making them far superior to humans through genetic alteration. Pregnant girls were brought to the facility and later they were forced to depart from their new borns and sent back to their villages. These new-borns were injected with gene altering medicines, thus enhancing their sensory powers and abilities. Once twelve children escape the facility and get separated. Max Guevara is one of them and she is trying to find others after ten years.

Hollywood become a kingdom of their own. And, like Sicilian immigrants, the first generation studio bosses decided to police themselves rather than let outsiders in.
Mafia and the studios have sometimes structured themselves in the same way, with a nominal chief executive acting as a lighting rod-deflecting away from the powerful board. Therefore, Louis B. Mayer may have been the public face of MGM-and for many years, the highest paid executive in America-but its real boss was Nick Schenck, chairman of holding company Loew's in New York. In much the same way, Frank Nitti was the supposed head of the Chicago Outfit, but the real power lay with board members Joe "Batters" Accardo and Murray "the Camel" Humphreys.
Even today, there are similarities between Hollywood and the Mafia. Although there are few barriers to entry into the movie business, at the highest levels Hollywood becomes Costa Nostra, literally translated as 'This Thing of Ours'. One of the famous lines in The Godfather is 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer.' So today's studio heads attend each other's charity dinners, celebrity golf matches and even go to holiday together.
When former agent Brad Grey took over Paramount in 2005, one of the first things that he did was pay his respects to the other studio bosses-the new godfather doing the rounds of the other dons.
Variety, Hollywood's daily newspaper, refers to studio producer executives as 'capos', an abbreviation of the Mafia term capo regime, or street boss.
The key resemblance between Hollywood and the Mafia is that both are to an extent secret societies, whose members never peak to outsiders. In Mafia parlance, the inner circle has sworn to keep omerta. Don Corleone tells his son never to let anybody outside the family know what he is thinking. In much the same way, Hollywood expels those who break the Sacred Code of Silence. When producer Julia Philips, who won an Academy award for The Sting, wrote an autobiography, You'll Never Eat Lunch in This Town Again, ridiculing studio executives, the community shunned her. Philips died of cancer in 2002.

The plot is not original and it lacks in finer details. How come Sakhi escapes unhurt from Hojo's hideout though he knows that she is Meow Meow's twin sister? A laborer is slashed to death when he points a knife on Hojo's son. But the conspirators who bring Lui Sheng to China are not even threatened let alone killed or punished. Even after Meow Meow comes to know the truth about her father, Hojo lets her be in his gang, why doesn't he get rid of the enemy's daughter who is of no use to him?

Anyways, these are only minor glitches. If these points were to be taken care of, the movie would have been full of blood and gore and would have lost its comic touch.
Deepika Padukon has done some smashing action moves in Chandni Chowk to China. Beside that she doesn't have much to do, though she is in a double role. But she has once again showed that she is here to stay. Deepika Padukon has very expressive eyes, and she will be better suited for sad and tragic roles. Though she is apt at comedy too.
Chandni Chowk to China belongs to Akshay Kumar all the way. He is marvelous as Dhaba worker/Sabji cutter. He has already proved his comic abilities,I think he should be turned Comedy King. Govinda used to hold that title, but Akshay Kumar is a far better actor than Govinda and he has given us good, family entertainers unlike Govinda.
My husband rued the fact that only ten people had come to watch Chandni Chowk to China where as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi got a house full. He believed that Akshay Kumar is quite popular in UK.
But you can't compare Akshay Kumar with Shahrukh Khan overseas. I was supposed to take my daughter with me and two of our friends had to join us in the theater. After we had bought the tickets, the doorman told that it is 15 certificate movie so toddlers are not allowed. Luckily my husband was with me so he took crying Ananya home.
The movie shows the journey of a slum dweller from rags to riches. The teenage Jamal Malik is not hungry for money. He has eyes only for Latika, who is his childhood sweetheart. Slumdog millionaire is a love story told in an unusual manner, but with all the cliches about Bollywood and India. The sulm scenes are very realistic. But sitting in a hall in Edinburgh, you get the feeling that Danny Boyle has purposely shot these scenes to embarass Indians. Is there no poverty or hunger in Western countries?
The scene I liked most: Little Jamal is trapped in a makeshift toilet, when he hears that Amitabh Bachchan has come for shooting in their slum. He is frantic to get out and get a glimpse of his idol. He can't come out as Salim has latched the door from the outside. The only way out is the hole where heap of shit is sitting. Jamal jumps down without thinking for a second. He runs towards the crowd, covered from head to toe in poo.
Dev patel is convincing, though I liked the acting of the younger Jamal better. Anil Kappor is wasted in Slumdog Millionaire.

Both like to play games on computer. They have one PC at home, and they are always fighting to get hold of the keyboard to play games. When they come to our house, its a treat for them. One boy switches on the PC while the other hooks on the laptop. Their mother and I are left in peace to talk. Sometimes I also join them in their escapades. The younger one found a game on MEGA Brands Kids Zone and his brother too followed suit. They egged me to play with them, but as always I preferred to watch them overcome various difficulties and enemies.
Mega brand is an online toy and activities store. They also offer free online games for children. While roaming around in the games area, I found one game Dragon Krystal Warrior
I liked the sound of the clinking metal. The mission for the player is to become the dragon master in the Aurios Army. For that, the player has to take as many plasma krystals as he can. Though I couldn't get past level one ( crystal score was 400, and the end score: 0), I found the game interesting and engaging.
Different Keys and their functions:
Space bar: attack
Arrow keys: move ahead or back
When you kill the enemy, you get various types of crystals. When my daughter takes her nap, I am planning to revert back to this game.

Sad, but impressive movie. Asin has acted much better than Aamir khan in Ghajini. Aamir looks tired, when he is with Asin. Whereas Asin does a remarkable job as a bubbly and vivacious girl, who can easily tell a lie with a flat face. HERE IS THE LINK TO WATCH GHAJINI ONLINE.
GHAJINI
I read somewhere that Asin was a three year toddler when Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was released. It was one of the reasons that I didn't watch Ghajini till now. I haven't even watched Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, though my husband insists I do. He plays it every time we have guests at home. I just don't like an old, wrinkled Shahrukh being paired with a girl more than half his age.
Anyways, Asin is worth watching for Asin, the storyline and the impeccable acting by Amir khan. I am not contradicting what I said before. Aamir is mismatched with Asin. But no one can dispute his acting credentials. It is a treat to watch him. He looks all the part of a love stricken business tycoon.
With Aaamir has broken the string of meaningful, patriotic movies that he made( Sarfarosh, Lagaan,Magal Pandey, Rang De Basanti, Tare Zameen Par). Ghajini is out and out commercial entertainer.
When Ghajini ends, you yearn that Sanjay's memory come back.He has already gone through an ordeal, now he must have some peace with his past, which he only remembers in bits and pieces.

I went to the doctor, but he said that my eye sight is perfectly fine. The reason for aches and pain can be tension in the muscle around the eyes. He has told me to do some exercises, which are very simple. I am a little disappointed. I had already selected a pair of Holiday frames for me ( the picture is on the left).
The site which sells a variety of prescription glasses, has some good frames. Though I didn't like the image on their site's banner. Its a bald old man with glasses. Instead they could have used the image of a smart and savvy business woman with glasses. But the prices are competitive and reasonable, and that' what matters. I watched A Christmas carol on ITV. Wasn't impresses much. I am sure there are better Christmas movies than this. Yea.... Home Alone is one of them. Macaulay Culkin was sure a cute kid. But Home alone is not strictly a Christmas movie, right? I think Bridget Jones' Diaries is also based around Christmas. I have to check it.....later.

He asked me to suggest some company which would rent audio consoles for a day. I consulted on the net and found out that hi-tech audio.com is a company that not only lends audio consoles for music concerts all over the world; they also provide church sound to all the houses of worship.
Hi-tech audio.com has made a name for itself in the field of digital audio consoles. They rent as well as sell live-sound Consoles. The Company is a dealer of Yamaha and two other prominent makers of digital consoles i.e. Digico and Digidesign.
Sometimes we do need to make good choices if we want to make a function or ceremony special. I remember throwing a party in the honor of our resident welfare association's new president. The sound system was so wretched that all the other preparations paled and it was really very embarrassing for me to stop the music in the middle of the party and arrange for some replacement. The whole episode taught me the importance of quality. There are certain times when you can't compromise on quality or you risk wasting your whole efforts.

She can't get enough of these two cartoons. I have to keep a store of her favorite episodes all the time. You never know when she will demand which cartoon to be displayed. I get help in choosing different cartoon DVDs from Disney Movie Club, which is a good option for those who are busy and don't have time to go to DVD stores to select the movies of their choice. Good thing is that the shipping is free.
When you order for the first time through Disney Movie Club, you get three DVDs for only $5.97.
There are many discounts and offers available for those members of Disney Movie Club, who have ordered a minimum number of DVDs and gotten into the privileged category.
My husband is a movie buff more than I, he likes to watch all the latest releases and even the classic ones. Such types of clubs come in handy when you want to watch the movie in the comforts of your home and don't want to waste time traveling to the cinema halls in the congested traffic.
When I told my husband about Disney movie club, he liked the idea.

I think Luminox Navy SEAL Watch will suit his personality. He is a tall and smart guy. Sporty gear looks fabulous on him. The site where I found this watch, sells all types of police gear, ranging from under armour jackets, holsters, duty gear, flashlights, tactical shirts and pants, and elbow pads to footwear and boots. My brother-in law isn't a cop and he is not even in the army, but he likes to collect stuff which is not ordinary or run of the mill. Both stories have car as the main protagonist. But the similarity ends here. In Taarzan, the hero is the son of the murdered scientist, and he has little to do to avenge his father's death. In Knight Rider, the scientist is not murdered, but he escapes a dangerous attck. Knight rider is a TV movie and it has been developed into a series now.Which reminds me of another of my favorite TV series of 80s or 90s, Street Hawk. We loved this serial.

Now he is a reformed man, but he still likes to recount his Las Vegas trip. He and his four friends had a blast there. They played in one of the countless Las Vegas casinos and made so much money that each of them got the expenses of the trip out of it. As I said, hubby doesn't indulge in this habit anymore, but likes to surf nevertheless. Yesterday I told him about bet365 casino and their competition, termed as Champions of Europe. The site also offers a Roulette Strategy Guide for the players.
My husband is a big football fan. He makes sure to watch every single tournament. So he is coming home early now days to log on to his internet and stay up to date with the matches. I told him that bet365 casino is organising a competition on the lines of the Euro 2008. Each team is being given opportunity to represent their country. The prizes are huge. I asked him if he was tempted to start it again, but he said that he has his most valuable prize and he doesn't wish for more. He was looking at our little daughter Ananya, who was sleeping peacefully. I was so touched.
For those who are interested to know more, here is the press release:

The bet365 Casino - Champions of Europe

bet365 are bringing the excitement of the Euro 2008 Football Championships to the casino tables with the announcement of their Champions of Europe casino promotion. Just out of curiosity I followed that link, it was some drug de-addiction site. What caught my attention was the graphics of a dancing girl. I turned the mouse over the grphics and clicked, nothing happened, only a word comments appeared.I deleted the spam and then googled for dancing graphics. And I found the dancing graphics that I was looking for. You can download the dancing graphics at commmentprops.
