Gemini TV was launched in 1995. It retains the position of the Number one among the telugu channels. It attracts viewers by telecasting daily serials and Popular movies. Sakshi (Saksi, Saakshi) is a Telugu news daily headquartered in Hyderabad, India. It was launched on 23 March 2008, by the governor of Andhra Pradesh, N. D. TIWARI.
Sakshi was brought out in 23 multi-colored editions (one edition per district) by Jagati Publication, of which Y. S. Jaganmohan reddy is the chairman. He is the Son of Chief Minister of Andhra pradesh Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.

This new daily was launched in March 24, 2008.

Sakshi has a print run of more than 1.7 million copies. As of 3/31/2009, Sakshi, with 30+ pages, was priced at Rs. 2.50/- per paper.
The paper has been designed by newspaper designer Mario Garcia, and claims to have an initial print run of more than 11 lakhs. The claims have yet to be substantiated by any known standards.
The group also has launched a news channel platform Sakshi TV and the programs have started airing on March 1 2009.
This media group is working under the name "Jagati Publications".

Cable News Network-Indian Broadcasting Network (CNN-IBN) is an English-language Indian TV news channel. The network is a partnership between Global Broadcast News (GBN) and Turner International (Turner) in India (a Division of Time Warner). Rajdeep Sardesai is the Editor-in-Chief of the network. The Indian company GBN runs the channel completely but uses the CNN brand name, in return giving Time Warner a 26% stake. Critics[who?] allege that the paper often toes the line of Indian National Congress, the political party presently leading the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), which is currently in power in India.
The network broadcasts 24 hours a day. The network models most of its programming on that of CNN in the United States, with current-event talk programs mixed with news reports. The flagship evening program, India at 9, is usually broadcast daily on CNN Pipeline, although it is not simulcast (except during breaking news events, such as the 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings and the November 2008 Mumbai attacks). It is one of the first news channels in India to use the concept of "citizen journalist," whereby any person can send in a report that is aired in a separate section.
CNN-IBN expanded the Citizen Journalism Segment by including Mobile Citizen Journalism. Indian Citizens are now able to take photos from mobile phones which can be send via MMS to the news desk of CNN-IBN.

When STAR News launched in 1998, it was at first a Bilingual English/Hindi News Service, and was initially run in partnership with NDTV. But when the agreement, with the NDTV expired, STAR News was transformed into a Hindi entertainment service.
It also has its own DTH service which is running successfully.

Sun TV is a regional Tamil language Indian cable television station. It is the flagship channel of the Chennai-based Rs 16000-crore Sun TV Network.It was started and promoted by Kalanithi Maran, It was the first fully privately owned Television channel in India when it emerged in 1993. It is most viewed tamil TV channel in the world. It remained privately held until 2006 when it was listed on the two main Indian stock exchanges - the National Stock Exchange of India and Bombay Stock Exchange. Kalanithi Maran owns the majority of shares in the company.
Since its inception the Sun Network had the blessing and support of the DMK, in line with the general trend in South India where large media houses are directly or indirectly controlled by political parties. This overt support came to an end in November 2005 after a public rift between the DMK president Mr. M Karunanidhi and the management of The Sun Network.

STAR Vijay is a popular Indian entertainment channel broadcasting in Tamil. The channel is available in India, Sri Lanka as well as the US, catering for the Tamil diaspora. The channel is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.

Doordarshan (Hindi: दूरदर्शन; literally Tele-Vision) is the public television broadcaster of India and a division of Prasar Bharati, a public service broadcaster nominated by the Government of India. It is one of the largest broadcasting organizations in the world in terms of the infrastructure of studios and transmitters. Recently, it has also started Digital Terrestrial Transmitters.

Doordarshan had a modest beginning with the experimental telecast starting in Delhi in September 1959 with a small transmitter and a makeshift studio. The regular daily transmission started in 1965 as a part of All India Radio. The television service was extended to Bombay and Amritsar in 1972. Till 1975, seven Indian cities had television service and Doordarshan remained the only television channel in India. Television services were separated from radio in 1976. Each office of All India Radio and Doordarshan were placed under the management of two separate Director Generals in New Delhi. Finally Doordarshan as a National Broadcaster came into existence.

National telecasts were introduced in 1982. In the same year, colour TV was introduced in the Indian market with the live telecast of the Independence Day speech by then prime minister Indira Gandhi on 15 August 1982, followed by the 1982 Asian Games being held in Delhi. Now more than 90 percent of the Indian population can receive Doordarshan (DD National) programmes through a network of nearly 1400 terrestrial transmitters and about 46 Doordarshan studios produce TV programs today.

ARY, formerly the Pakistani Channel was launched in the United Kingdom in December 2000 to cater to the growing demands of South Asian entertainment in the region. Within a short span of three years, the unique proposition and the content of the channel resulted in massive popularity and, in order to enable greater expansion and broadcast into other countries, the operations were moved to Dubai Media City.[citation needed] The uplink teleport station it uses is Samacom,[1] a monopolising uplink provider based in the UAE.
This one-screen TV business grew into a network of channels beaming into over 130 countries. But not yet launched its transmissions in Australian continent. The network, at present, undoubtedly stands as one of the fastest growing Asian television networks in the world at the current moment.[2]
The network was successful in acquiring a license for DTH operations in Pakistan, considered a milestone for media in the ever-growing broadcast television market of Pakistan. Since then the network started to commit itself to the continuous development of Pakistan’s media market. The network now boasts a potential market size of more than 20 million households.[2]
The ARY Group, owners of the network, announced the launch of the ARY Digital Tower, one of the tallest media buildings in the UAE. The project is to stand a mammoth 44- to 45-storey broadcasting tower[3] that will house the studios and corporate-head office of all the network’s operations.[2] Construction of the tower, overseen by esteemed Adnan Z. Saffarini[3] of Dimensions Engineering Consultants, is expected to end by 2008.
ARY pioneered and set standards in television programming in Pakistan and all over the world. In 2002, The ARY Star Gold Quiz Show set new standards in the game-show broadcast history being the first live show ever offering a hefty prize of one kilogram of gold. For the period of its transmission, participants won over 260 kilograms of gold. Undoubtedly the highest stakes of any game-show in the history of South Asian Television.[2] Partly due to the ban on Indian channels around the time, helped the channel grow popular by the day.[citation needed] The network in 2005 obtained the rights to show Live 8 on its sister music channel, The Musik. The channel also held rights to the Who Wants to be a Millionaire franchise for Pakistan.
On October 18, 2007 most of the ARY news team, covering former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's arrival from exile, were killed by one of two explosions. Pictures of the victims were shown live on the news hour and prayers were observed. Bhutto was later escorted safely to an official government house.

MCM is a French music video TV channel owned by Groupe MCM. It was started in 1989 by Groupe Europe following the MTV model. MCM broadcasts 3 encrypted music TV channels "MCM France", "MCM Pop" and "MCM Top" as part of the "CanalSat France"[1][2] subscription TV package from the Astra 19.2°E cluster of Direct-to-Home broadcast satellites at the 19.2 degrees East orbital position.

White Springs Television (WSTV) is a US network which features mainly motion pictures, owned by White Springs Media, with studios in Portland, Oregon and technical facilities in White Springs, Florida (the channel's namesake). It was established in August 2005 by Victor Ives, a veteran Portland broadcaster who helped relaunch KEBN channel 32 (now KRCW-TV) in 1994 with an all-movie schedule. This helped inspired Ives to create a movie channel featuring all movies around the clock -- mostly public domain, low-rent and made-for-TV movies, with commercials and short features seen only between films.
White Springs Television is available nationwide on selected cable systems and television stations, as well as free-to-air Ku-band satellite via Intelsat Americas 7(now known as Galaxy 27). The network's parent company, White Springs Media, also owns the TalkStar Radio Network, as well as satellite teleport facilities.
In the Portland area, White Springs Television can be seen on Channel 17 on KWVT TV in Salem, Oregon.
In 2008, WWCG-LP launched in Columbus, Georgia as a full-time White Springs Television affiliate. Other outlets are KFLA CH 8.2 Los Angeles, CA, KDEO CH 50.2 Denver, KHPK CH 3 Dallas, Ft Worth, KITL-LP CH 20 Boise ID. Company publicity claims over a hundred full and part time affiliates, but doesn't publish a "list".

Sci Fi Channel is an American cable television channel, launched on September 24, 1992, that specializes in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and paranormal programming. It is part of the entertainment conglomerate NBC Universal. On March 16, 2009, the network announced that it would be changing its name to Syfy, a change scheduled to take effect on July 7, 2009.
Sci Fi Channel is available in high definition, but often broadcasts in 4:3 format rather than the traditional HD format of 16:9.
