Sephora Holiday Sale Haul

Sephora Holiday Savings Sale started October 28th for Rouge. You can shop in store or online using code SAVINGS. The discount applies on almost all brands except for The Ordinary and MAC Cosmetics VIVA GLAM products.

I went in store and picked up a few things. I couldn't find everything I wanted, so ordered everything else online. In the past few years, I've done a haul video for Sephora holiday sales but unfortunately I highly doubt I will make one this year, so I decided to create this blog post and feature all the products I've purchased during this year's sale.

I barely bought makeup during the sale because I haven't really been wearing full face of makeup lately. I usually just wear concealer to cover up dark circles and just apply eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. However, I've been more into skincare and haircare products recently.

For the eggs, I simply start by frying 1 onion and I use a blender to add a green thai chili pepper, tomato and add it to the pan. Then, I add some salt, pepper, ground cumin, turmeric and coriander. Finally, I add eggs, cover the lid and let it cook for few minutes until the eggs are cooked.

This 19" carry-on features 360 degree wheels, TSA locks, weight limit indicator, handle with soft hand cushion and more. Check out their website for full specifications. It's currently available in beige, grey and black. I bought mine in grey and ordered it directly from their website. They offer free shipping to Canada on orders over $135 CAD.

It's expandable and it can expand up to 12". It includes a separate pouch set of 2 for dirty clothes, shoes, under garments, damp clothing, etc.

It also includes a detachable, compression flap with U-zip pocket and mesh packet. When I first saw this carry-on and luggage online, I fell in love because of its sleek design and features that are quite practical. I'm so glad I finally bought it. So far I really love this carry-on and would love to get the 26" luggage but hesitating for now due to the price point.

I also bought their Mini Weekender Bag in black. This is great for day trips or if you're planning to stay out of town for a night or two especially when you want to pack light. I love the fact that it features a double zip removable bottom compartment with water resistant lining, which is great if you want to put your dirty clothes, shoes, etc.

Fall Soft Glam Makeup Tutorial 2021

I honestly didn’t think I would be creating content again but I decided to make a quick pumpkin pie video on TikTok few days ago and realized that I actually missed it. I think the pandemic really got to me and I’m sure it has all affected us in some way. I worked from home and I was mostly in sweatpants and t-shirt. I didn’t have the motivation to film videos or even to do my makeup. I posted stories on Instagram and Snapchat but that’s about it. However, I now feel ready to be posting photos and videos again. I did have to get used to the new updates of my software program and I'm still working on my filming setup.

Recipes

Chapli Kababs - Click here for the website where I got the recipe from but here are the ingredients I ended up using:

1 kg ground beef
2 large tomatoes, 1 onion, 7 green chillies and 2 handful of coriander leaves
6 tbsp gram flour
4 tbsp crushed coriander
3 tbsp pomegranate seeds
1 tbsp paprika, 1 tbsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp garam masala
1 tbsp pink himalayan salt
2 tbsp desi ghee
1 egg
1 tbsp garlic paste

Chocolate covered Energy balls - Click here for the website where I got the recipe from but made few changes. I covered them with dark chocolate and cocunut. Here are the ingredients used for the energy balls:

1 cup dates
⅓ cup almond sliced
1/2 cup shredded coconut
⅔ cups oats
1 Tbs coconut oil
1 Tbs water

Date and Almond Butter Energy Balls - Click here for the website where I got the recipe from but slightly changed it a bit. I ended up covering them with some shredded coconut. Here are the ingredients I used:

1 cup dates
1 Tbsp flax seeds
3 Tbsp all-natural almond-hazelnut butter
2/3 cup oats
2 tsp cocoa

Stuffed Dates - I washed the dates, took out the seeds, stuffed them with nuts and sprinkled some coconut. I absolutely love these!!

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation retails for $64 CAD ($49 USD) and it's claimed to be a buildable, full-coverage foundation with up to 16 hours of lightweight, natural, fade-resistant wear. It's available in 34 shades and I got the shade Barcelona.

Here's my review of the foundation. I did a demo, 8-hour wear test and comparison with NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.

NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation comes in a glass bottle and contains 1 oz (30 mL) of product. I'm glad it comes with a pump unlike NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.

Coverage: Full
Finish: Natural
Shades: Available in 34 Shades
Application: NARS recommends to apply on clean, moisturized skin without primer. I would recommend using less product because if you use a lot, it can easily end up looking cakey.

I did a 8-hour wear test and I love how the foundation held up during the day. I have combination skin and I get oily on T-zone area and I love the fact that my skin barely looked oily by the end of the day. I definitely think this is a longwearing foundation!

Overall, I do think it's a good foundation! I like the fact that it's longwearing and provides a full coverage without using too much product. I would recommend using less product as you can because otherwise, it can easily end up looking cakey and the shade might look a little off.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation retails for $63 CAD ($47 USD), which is slightly less than NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation for the same amount of product but you get a pump with this new foundation.

I have the shade Barcelona in both and I haven't really noticed a difference in the shades. The only thing is NARS Natural Radiant Foundation isn't as natural looking as NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and I noticed that if you do end up using a lot of product, the shade of the new foundation might end up looking a little off.

While NARS Natural Radiant Foundation does provide a better coverage and is more longwearing, I still prefer NARS Natural Radiant Foundation because it's more natural looking, lightweight and photographs better in my opinion.

For shade reference, I'm in NC40 in MAC.

MAC Foundation Stick NC40 Demo, Wear Test & Review | Combination Skin

Here's my review of MAC Studio Fix Soft Matte Foundation Stick NAC40. I did a 8-hour wear test and demo in this video.

It retails for $31 USD ($36 CAD) and contains 0.32 oz (9 g) of product. I purchased mine online from Sephora (MAC products are available available at Sephora for Canada). This is described to be an on-the-go multitasking foundation stick perfects skin tone, contours curves, and highlights features.

Claims:

Buildable Medium Coverage

Easy to blend

Natural, shine-free matte finish

Suitable for all skin types

Shades: It's available in 33 shades. I got the shade NC40 and I think it's a good match for my skin tone. I also think the shade didn't oxidize on me as opposed to MAC Liquid Foundation, which does oxidize. I do think the shade range is limited though.
