LIKE EDSA AGAIN. Lea Salonga’s ‘Bayan Ko’ rendition transported people back to 1986 when the song became the anthem of a peaceful revolt for democracy. GMANews video grabLea Salonga performed a soaring rendition of “Bayan Ko” at the requiem Mass for the soul of former President Corazon Aquino with mourners raising the “L” or “Laban” (fight) sign reminiscent of the rallies and demonstrations during the dying years of the Marcos regime.

A patriotic song written during the American occupation of the Philippines, “Bayan Ko” (My Country) gained prominence during the funeral of assassinated former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino in 1983 and in subsequent protest rallies that culminated in the People Power Revolution of 1986.

Crowds gathered outside the Manila Cathedral also applauded as the last verse of “Bayan Ko” was sung. Yellow confetti poured down from a nearby building.

In 1990, Mrs. Aquino gave Salonga a Presidential Award of Merit for bringing pride to the country with her success in Broadway theater in the US and UK.

Dressed in white, the world-renowned performer was requested by the Aquino family to perform at the requiem Mass before the late President is laid to rest Wednesday afternoon at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque.

“Parang EDSA ulit. Naluluha ako (It’s like EDSA all over again. I’m tearing up),” said one of the mourners who braved the rains outside the Manila Cathedral.

Mrs. Aquino, who was propelled to power by the “People Power Revolution” of February 1986, restored democracy in the country after more than 13 years of Marcos’ dictatorial rule.

She peacefully died on Aug. 1 after over a year battling stage-4 colon cancer.

Her remains will be placed beside those of her husband, Ninoy, at the family’s mausoleum.

Indeed from the anime it come up with adaptations from different asian countries. Japan's Hana Yori Dango, Taiwan's Meteor Garden, Korea's Boys over Flowers, now comes China's H4. Yes, China's renaming F4 to H4. But I just dont Know yet what it stands for hehehe.. Hot 4??? Oh well! I just wish it will be a good name.

Have you watched Mel & Joey at GMA 7? It features 2 collectors of the well known wizard Harry Potter! I was so amazed with their collections,the girl collector has 300+ collections with coloring books, toys and what's great about her if she can't find the item she's making it by herself amazing right?? that includes the wands and the broomstick. Another collector is a boy with 100+ collections including books, books in another language like arabic and spanish. What's more amazing he has a 18inches figurine/life size of Harry Potter. WOW! if you really are a fanatic and collector you will really spend a bunch.

Speaking of Harry Potter "The magic continues to cast its spell-enchants from beginning to end". Harry Potter & the Half-blood Prince is now showing. It's the 6th installment of the movie about wizards and magic. I haven't watch the full movie yet but based on the trailer its really good. Another top grossing film from Warner Bros. and from the genius author J.K. Rowling.
Starring Danielle Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, Emma Watson as Hermiobe Granger. There's also Michael Gambon as Albus Dumbledore and Robbie Coltrane as Rubeus Hagrid among others.

I'm not really a reader of this kind of book but I love watching Harry Potter in Movie theaters. From the past movie series I'd watched. It really has good effects, nice story and it give me thrills.

FRUSTRATING!!

Aaarrrggghh!!! It's been 3 weeks since we started experiencing internet problems with SMART BRO. On/Off internet, sometimes totally none, I even experience disconnection while surfing the net. It's really frustrating specially if you will call Smart Bro's customer service hot line they will just tell you it's technical enhancement. Will you believe that for almost 3weeks they can't fix that problem. I've been following up this issue for 3weeks, 3-6 times a day just to tell them how frustrating, what inconvenience it's giving us. I've never experience this kind of problem before, I disconnected my first smart bro connection cause my PC needs replacement, so this will be my 2nd time. I like their services before but right now, hmmm... I'm beginning to regret it.

Smart Bro should give focus on this issue, and they should work on it in just 1-2 days not up to 3weeks (am i so obviously angry?)!! I believe their employess are well-trained, so they must engage to it immediately. Lately I've been reading in some forums other issues of Smart bro, including IP addresses.

Hope Smart bro will do something about this or else they will loose a lot of customers.

Another year added to my age, July 16th, was my Birthday. I spent it with my family. We had a little party. There was pancit, for long life! yahoo... shanghai rolls excellente, then there was my goldilocks cake I just forgot the flavor hahaha. Im so happy because this is my first birthday being a mother, it's really nice. My wish is not for myself but to my grandma who is sick with 4blocked arteries in her heart. I wish for her health and to prolong her days with us. I believe she still has a mission here.

This year I can say will be a very special birthday to me. Why? cause I spend it with my grandma. My focus is really my grandma and my baby. no husband in my mind (hmmm... :)). I can't live without them.

Asianovela is a popular slang in the Philippines for dubbed South Korean, Japanese and Chinese language|Chinese/Taiwanese TV series.

The word Asianovela comes from the words "Asia" or "Asian" and "Novela" from the word "Telenovela". This term was created to define the difference of a normal telenovela to Asian-produced telenovelas. The slang was first used on local internet forums, then became widly used by Filipino people.

The very first Asianovela shown in the Philippines was Amazing Twins, a Taiwanese TV series in July 2002 on IBC-13, but it gained no popularity in the Philippines despite that it was dubbed into Tagalog language.

On May 2003, ABS-CBN shown another Taiwanese TV drama titled Meteor Garden. It gained so much popularity, with it's ratings reaching over 40% and F4 posters, CDs and shirts are everywhere. The popularity of this TV drama started the so-called "Asianovela craze" and "Meteor Garden mania" in the Philippines. ABS-CBN later showned it's sequels, Meteor Rain and Meteor Garden II and become successful as well.

Becoming a parent can be thrilling, overwhelming, exciting, scary, exasperating, awe-inspiring and fun - it’s the most incredible journey of a lifetime. Becoming a parent also requires the essence of responsibility and love.

The first time I discovered I'm pregnant my first reaction?? shocked. The first words that came out of my mouth Oh my gosh! Why? just graduated, have a strict grandparents, I'm just 22yrs old and It flashes in my mind the disappointment I'll bring my parents, who are working abroad. But there's no more turning back. I'm pregnant. My first trimester was really a challenge I even said I surrender, why? I had a very terrible morning sickness, There where nights I can't sleep. Every time I eat after like 20minutes I'll run in the comfort room then throw up. I even cry when I do that. Now, when I'm thinking about it? I can't help but smile :).

After 9 months of conceiving? The time has come. December 7, 2oo8, 6:30am I gave birth to my bouncing baby Boy. As other mother says It really is a good feeling, so happy. I can't help the happiness I felt.

It's really amazing right?? wow.. My baby's name is Marcus Sanji, it was given by his father. We just thought adding Marcus but Sanji was from an anime One piece, Sanji the cook. My husband loves One piece. Thinking of a name was a bit hard. We just decided on it when I
got birth ususalyy it should be when the baby's still in the womb of their mommies.
