The ATV: How It All Began

Like all things popular with the general public, the All Terrain Vehicle, better known as the ATV or the quad bike, has a very fascinating past. The first ATVs were a far cry to their modern counterparts. Initially engineered to be a valuable farming equipment, the machine became the core of an extremely competitive sporting and racing industry.

Long before Japanese motoring giant Honda Motors released the first modern ATV back in'70, various American motoring corporations have been working, sketching and tilling a concept vehicle that can go off the road and navigate unusual driving surfaces with less effort. It can be said that the United States launched the first ATVs, though the date could not be confirmed. These ATVs are assembled with six wheels, all driven, and could pass through swamps, ponds, and streams as well as dry land.

The overall design of the old American ATVs was a notch different as well. Aside from six wheels, they were engineered for multiple passengers and were integrated with steering wheels or control sticks instead of the more familiar handlebar of a modern ATV. As for the materials, the old ATVs are assembled using hard plastic or fiberglass.

Like in the United States, Japans version of ATV was also invented to be a farming machine and was a commonly sight in farming towns situated in the mountains. When Honda first released the first modern ATV, the US90, its popularity and demand for the vehicle grew. When the James Bond movie "Diamonds Are Forever" hit the big screen, its popularity grew even more, as the film featured the ATVs in some of its scenes.

With the global reach of Diamonds Are Forever movie, it was only a matter of time when the demand of the Japanese ATV broke the ceiling. Being able to navigate trails where no other vehicles could was good news already. The concept of driving through any terrain became a rave especially among Canadian and American hunters.

It was in the'80s, however, when the ATV truly started enjoying mainstream popularity and took a large consumer base. It was during this time when the sporting version of the ATV was launched. Soon enough, big name motoring companies like Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Polaris joined the ATV race and began manufacturing their own ATV models.

When motoring companies began to create three-wheeled models, issues over its safety and stability followed. Soon, the increasing concerns of the public caused the production of three-wheeled ATVs to be halted in'87. Though the production ban ended in'97, no major three-wheeled ATV was made and sold.

Today, ATVs are now categorized into two types - the sporting type and the utility type. As the name suggest, sporting ATVs are designed for high speeds and are made of lighter materials with an engine for rapid acceleration. Utility ATVs, on the contrary are heavier, bigger and slower but are equipped with engines that enable them to carry heavy loads.

Undeniably, the ATV has now cemented itself as a premier ride for racing enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. Its popularity steadily increasing, as indicated by the motoring companies joining the ATV bandwagon. There is no doubt that the ATV is here to stay.

Take a hike through its trails under cool canopies and marvel at the unmatched beauty of creation.

By all means, stay within the realm of what you can afford, but do your best to make your vacation experience unusual, special, and fun. You will come home a happy rested person with no regrets that you spent above your means.

1.Two years ago getting a boat loan was substantially easier than it is now, however is is not impossible to get one now. Following these seven tips should increase your chances at qualifying and getting your dream yacht.

2. Know what's on your credit report. If you find any accounts that you did not open or any amounts that you did not charge, you will need to submit a form to all three credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, and Transunion) to dispute the account or charges, as need be. Each reporting agency may give a different result and may find different accounts. A bank will run all three and so should you.

2. Understand how you FICO score is calculated. A FICO score can be improved by paying your bills on time, reducing your debt, and having ample credit space, especially zero balance accounts. A FICO score is the measurement of your financial stability.

3. Increase the amount that you put down on the loan. By showing that the bank will not be the only one who will commit financially to the loan, you are able to show them that you are more likely to repay it. 20% or more is best.

4. Know your history. A bank will look at your credit score, and commitment to the loan by looking at the amount of your down payment, but they will also consider the rest of your history, including employment history, loan payment history, cash reserves, and the size of any previous loans. Banks hardly lend a significantly larger loan than the other loans you may have had in the past.

5. Put together the documents detailing your current financial position. This includes your year to date earnings, your last two years of tax returns, and your investments including cash, stocks, annuities, IRA's, 401k's etc. Also understand that you are not just proving you capacity to pay back the loan, but pay back the loan and take good care of the yacht, because if you default the bank will own the boat.

6. Know the ratios banks use to pre-qualify individuals. All monthly operating expenses and all debt payments (including mortgage and car payments) should not exceed your 40% of your household's monthly income.

7. Find the right company to represent you. Only a few lending institutions provide boat loans, and most independent brokers will request a loan quote with each of them. This means that having two agents will not help you (and can often hurt your chances of getting a good loan). It is important that you select an agent or brokerage that has a long history of dealing with yacht loan lenders and a good track record of successful loans. Remember, a good broker is your advocate.

It's too time consuming, too much education is needed, I'm too old, or its too expensive are just some of the arguments we support our feelings with for something that we think is unattainable.

In regards to becoming, a Private Pilot lets look at some of the arguments that we just outlined.

It is too time consuming. You will be surprised to learn that it does not take years to learn to become a Private Pilot. It actually demands 40 hours of flying time, and a theory course. If you can afford to set aside time for one or two lessons a week, then it would put you right on schedule for completing the course in the average amount of time. You do not have to attend school 5 days a week. You can consider night courses at least for the theory aspect and weekends for your flying.

Too much education is required. This too is another misconception. As long as you can read, write and understand English well and you are of the age of 17 years of age or older, then you have the basic requirements. What you are going to be learning is not dependant on other academic certificates you hold from your regular education. The success of the course is dependant totally, on what you are going to be learning and studying.

I'm too old. That's one unique thing about becoming a Private Pilot. You are never too old. If you can pass the required aviation medical examination then you are considered just as fit as that 17 year old Pilot in training you may be sitting beside.

It's too expensive It certainly is not going to be a cheap endeavor. Then you have to consider how much is your dream worth to you. It's no more expensive than any of the other types of recreation that we partake in. The actual training costs will be your biggest expense. If you think about it, though perhaps if you put off buying that brand new car for a year you would be able to find the money you need to pay for your training. Think about which is going to bring you more pleasure? Driving that new sports car or flying in the sky?

So now the only thing left for you to do, is go out and find the best flight training schools in your area, with the best instructors, and the best price and you will be on your way to flying high!

The Different Types of Pilot Licenses You Can Take Now

If you have been developing an interest in becoming a pilot then you will be interested in knowing that you have quite a selection of pilot categories to choose from. You will be best able to determine the most feasible for you by learning the basics about each of them and seeing which one best suit?s the goals you have set for yourself.

You must understand two major categories. First of all licensing for flying are issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. They are the governing body and have set the syllabus for the flight courses. All of their rules and regulations must be strictly adhered to. The first requirement is obtaining a certificate and the second part is the training. The type of certificate you require will depend on what type of Pilot you are going to become. It is the certificate that dictates your restrictions. When you hear reference to a rating this is applicable to the various types and classes of aircraft you will be able to pilot.

-Flight Instructor, Airline transport pilot or Commercial pilot will afford you the possibility of making a career out of your Pilot training.

Private pilot, recreational pilot, sport pilot, and student pilot licenses all have their own restrictions attached to these certificates and for the most part, you will not be able to earn a living as a Pilot in these categories.

When it comes to ratings these are applicable to the three categories that you can use for a career as well as the Private Pilots. The ratings refer to the aircraft such as airplanes that are single engine land, single engine sea, and multi engine land. There are ratings for instrument, glider and rotorcraft or helicopter.

Many individuals first entering into the world of flying opt for their Sports Pilot license. This license is for pleasure flying lightweight aircraft. Your training will entail 20 hours of flight time and a written exam as well. There are several restrictions to this type of license as it is designated for pleasure only. You will not be allowed to fly in air space that is controlled by air traffic control towers such as those situated at the airports. In addition, you will only be allowed to fly during daylight, and in perfect weather conditions. You are restricted to no higher that 10,000 feet.

If you decide that you would like something with a few less restrictions then you could consider a Recreational Pilot license. The requirements are very similar to a Private Pilot license but have more limitations. One interesting note is that Sports Pilots have more choices as to the types of aircraft they want to fly as opposed to the Recreational Pilot. This pilot is restricted to a single engine aircraft and helicopters with specific horsepower. The plane can be a maximum of four seats but the recreational pilot is only allowed one passenger at a time. It would be well worth contemplating between a Sports Pilot and Recreational Pilot, as there are still significant restrictions on both, but a fair amount more training and costs for the Recreational Pilot.

As the regular broadcast TV would use 1080i only, there is no need to get the 1080p, however if you intend to buy a blue ray disc player or play the latest games on the xbox player then you should buy a 1080p.

I love theme parks. I have to, I live in Orlando, otherwise known as Theme Park Central. That's why I know that, when you come to visit all the parks, you don't have to restrict your dining to vending cart hot dogs. From something fast to gourmet dining, your options are varied and delicious.

If you're in the mood for something fast, with food as American as, well, apple pie, you have to stop by Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. Their chicken is delicious, and it is served with mashed potatoes that taste better than any mere root vegetable has a right to be.

If you're in Liberty Square at mealtime, you can't miss Liberty Tree Tavern. You can't go wrong with the pot roast or turkey, and their Butter Griddled Pound Cake will fall under "memorable experiences" right along with Splash Mountain. Right on Main Street, you'll find Tony's Town Square. This Italian restaurant is charming and cool, and you will love the baked ziti.

The Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios is lovely, and has a wide range of American cuisine. If Italian is the order of the day, stop by Mama Melrose's Ristorante. And if comfort food with a side of 1950's innocence is more your thing, don't miss the 50's Prime Time Cafe.

In the Animal Kingdom, the Rainforest Cafe is an unforgettable experience. They have recreated a rainforest, with a waterfall, and animatronic animals like only Disney can make. If you want to avoid waiting for a table, go in and have breakfast one morning. The American cuisine is a bit pricey for what it is, but small children will shine when the thunderstorm starts, and all the animals come to life.

You can find vegetarian fare at the Tusker House buffet, and even the carnivores will enjoy the spiced tofu. Epcot has wonderful restaurants representing food around the world. They are wildly popular, and can get very busy, so be sure to call ahead to see if you need reservations. Le Cellier in Canada serves a steak that is a must-taste, but my favorite is Yorkshire County Fish Shop. It is busy, and hard to find a seat, but even standing, the fish and chips are the highlight of the park.

Lawyer Man: Powell is aces in this entertaining drama as an ambitious attorney, with an eye for the chicks, who tangles with crooked congressmen. Blondell is his dependable, lovesick secretary. Powell even talks Yiddish in this one. Cast includes William Powell, Joan Blondell, Claire Dodd, Sheila Terry, Alan Dinehart, David Landau, Roscoe Karns, and Sterling Holloway. (72 minutes, 1932)

Hook, Line ... Sinker: A ludicrous premise about an allegedly dying man who runs up one hundred thousand dollars in credit card debt. Even Lewis fans can be bored. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Peter Lawford, Anne Francis, Pedro Gonzalez, Jimmy Miller, and Kathleen Freeman. (91 minutes, 1951)

Starts out promisingly, as a disgruntled office android Whitaker unintentionally figures out that a horse race has been fixed, then it inexplicably shits into a cartoon like train wreck. Brewing beer at home is something that has stood the test of time. Still, many are resolute that convenience is best for them and continue to drink only beer that they have paid for at a liquor store or at a bar. However, as with everything else in life, convenience costs. It may not be much at the time, but add it up over a years worth of parties, games, dinners and nights out and it starts to amount to a lot.

The issue of paying an upfront sum for beer brewing supplies puts a lot of people off getting involved with it. They calculate that they could have a few nights at their local bar for the same cost and think to themselves that it would be a lot less effort to do so too. However, the more you think about it, the better an idea it becomes. Once you have bought the necessary equipment and supplies, you will just need to follow the instructions that come with them. It is simple enough, just remember not to miss out any of the steps. The best way to learn how to do something right is to keep doing it and get the technique down. Once you have the basics learnt, you can then start deviating from the standard processes in order to make your own special recipes. You'll soon be viewing it less like hard work and more like fun!
