UFC 100

With a nicely stacked card, UFC 100 was very exciting just like everyone expected. With an estimated 11,000 people in attendance, UFC 100 raked in a nice $5.1 million.

Dan Henderson vs. Mike Bisping did not happen anything like I expected. I thought for sure Henderson would come out slam Bisping on his back and gain an easy ground and pound victory, but instead he came out swinging for the knockout every punch. Then at 3:20 in the second round he caught Bisping and knocked him the fuck out. After that he preceded to throwdown a good old fashioned WWF elbow drop on Bispings unconscious face. Nothing could have made me more happy.

Henderson will now have to wait and see if he will get a title shot against Anderson Silva, otherwise he claims that he will return to light heavyweight.

Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves was disappointing for me. I was really hoping that Alves was going to be able to catch GSP with some kind of spectacular highlight reel knockout, but GSP had a good game plan and got the decision over Alves.

Whats next for GSP? Perhaps the superfight everyone on the internet loves to talk about, GSP vs. Anderson Silva.

Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir II happened exactly like I thought it would. Cock Chestnar layed on top of Frank and just punched him hard as fuck. I was pretty disappointed about this fight too, but I knew that would happen. Sadly, there was no Fedor chants.

Even without any Fedor chants, however, Dana White is already talking about Brock vs. Fedor and Fedors future in the UFC. I thought it would never happen.

One more thing, fuck Brock Lesnar. The guy is a dumbass and is trying to change the UFC into the WWE. Keep your stupid drama in the fake sports.

Demian Maia Science of Jiu Jitsu

Demian Maias MMA record is currently 11-0. Almost all of his fights have been won via submission (I think there has been like only 2 or 3 fights that weren't submission). This guy is just plain good and I believe he could be the one to defeat Anderson Silva.

But anyways, Science of Jiu Jitsu is one of my favorite instructional jiu jitsu videos. What I really like about this video are all of the little tips he gives you about leverage, positioning, head control, etc. that sometimes may seem obvious but can genuinely help you out if you put them into use.

Fedor Chant

We all know about the big controversy with Fedor and the UFC. Fans everywhere want to see Fedor in the UFC but it will never happen because Dana White will never make a contract loose enough for Fedor to agree to.
Fedor has defeated 5 UFC heavyweight champions a total of 7 times (Noguiera twice, Coleman twice, Randleman, Sylvia, and Arlovski). He has also defeated many other worthy opponents in his incredible 30-1-1 record. Yet Dana White still considers Fedor to be simply "overrated."

Fedorchant.com is a website that was made to encourage everyone who is going to UFC 100 to chant "FEDOR, FEDOR, FEDOR!!" during the heavyweight title match between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. The reasoning behind this is to let people know that until Fedor fights against the top UFC heavyweight fighters then the UFC heavyweight title does not make you the greatest heavyweight fighter.

I think that this is a good idea. I would crack up laughing if the entire audience at UFC 100 starts chanting Fedors name during Lesnar vs. Mir II. I doubt that this would make Dana White change his perspective on life and change the way he does everything, but it would definitely help get the word out to uneducated fans.

Mastering The Rubber Guard DVD

"Mastering The Rubber Guard" is by far my favorite instructional video ever. In "Mastering The Rubber Guard" Eddie covers his half guard game, his butterfly guard game, and his rubber guard game. Eddie Bravos techniques may seem strange to the traditional jiu jitsu practitioner but they are definitely effective. The thing i really like about this video is that it's not boring. I'll watch some instructional DVDs that will literally put me to sleep, but this 3 DVD set has a ton of extra features that are actually entertaining. While the movie is mostly focused on the rubber guard, my favorite section is Eddie Bravos half guard game. Most of the techniques he uses from half guard just amaze me. But don't get me wrong, the rubber guard section is also very interesting. I learned a ton of new techniques from this movie. It is definitely a must have for any serious jiu jitsu practitioner.

Big Bad Brock Wants Revenge!

I, personally, can not stand Brock Lesnar. The guy is just a big idiot. But no matter how ignorant I think he is there is still no denying the amount of potential this big meathead has.

Lesnar vs. Mir II is definitely going to be one exciting fight. I really want Mir to win this one but I just can't see him doing it again. I really have no idea how this fight is going to go down but here's my best guess:

Lesnar repeatedly throws the same exact left right straight punch combo over and over while standing. Lesnar eventually decides to go for the takedown. Mir is then brutally layed upon for a few rounds. Then in the 4th round Frank Mir finishes the fight with a beautiful flying armbar. But seriously if Mir does submit Lesnar again I think it will be with a rear naked choke.

There you have it people, Cock Chestner wants his revenge!! I'll leave you with my favorite quote from the video.

TUF 10 Teaser

Spike has began advertising for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. The teaser shows the two coaches, Rampage & Rashad, and from what it looks like the big star of TUF 10, Kimbo Slice. The way they show Kimbo kind of bothers me. There are 15 other fighters in the house but they only show the internet badass Kimbo Slice. While I don't see Kimbo winning TUF 10, he will definitely make the show more entertaining. TUF 10 will debut September 16th on Spike TV and will include the following up and coming heavyweight fighters:

TUF 9 Finale

I haven't posted anything in a few days because I was busy moving into my new house. But now I'm all settled in and back in business baby!!! Anyways, I don't got much to say about the TUF 9 finale. Every fight that I cared about was disappointing. I was rooting for Cameron Dollar, Frank Lester, Nate Diaz, and Clay Guida. Needless to say all of those guys were defeated. That's all I really have to say; I didn't enjoy this card at all.

UFC 100, UFC 101 and UFC 102 are all worth looking forward to. I expect all three of these events to be absolutely incredible. I don't know any other way to put it.

UFC 100
UFC 100 is one stacked card! CB Dollaway, Tom Lawlor, Mac Danzig, Mark Coleman, and Stephan Bonnar are all on the preliminary card. This preliminary card alone will be more exciting than the main cards of some other UFC events.

Now let me get to the main card of UFC 100. I know that everyone is looking forward to Dan Henderson choking out Mike Bisping. But seriously there is no way you can't be anxious to see this fight, especially if you have been watching TUF 9. We will also be seeing GSP getting knocked the fuck out by my man Thiago Alves and Brock Lesnar layin' and prayin' for four and a half rounds just to get caught by Frank Mir in a spectacular last minute submission. Not to mention Yoshihiro Akiyama Vs. Alan Belcher and Jon Fitch Vs. Paulo Thiago.

UFC 101
Then in UFC 101 Declaration we will see Kendall Grove Vs. Ricardo Almeida. After that Amir Sadollah, TUF 7 winner, will finally come out of hiding and armbar 5-0 Johny Hendricks. Then I'll finally get to see the fight I've been waiting my entire life for, Anderson Silva Vs. Forrest Griffin. And of course the main event BJ Penn Vs. Kenny Florian, which should be a great fight if BJ decides to train and Kenny doesn't cover his body with Vaseline.

UFC 102
Wilson Gouveia Vs. James Irvin is the only fight I'm really interested in on the preliminary card. The main card so far is starting off with Matt Hamill Vs. Brandon Vera, which I could care less about because of the fight that follows it (Nate Marquardt Vs. Damian Maia). Nate Marquardt Vs. Damian Maia is one of the fights that I'm looking forward to the most. In my opinion these are the only two guys who have a chance at defeating the current middleweight champ Anderson Silva. The main event will be Randy Couture Vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, which will be interesting.

TUF 9 is by far the worst and most boring season by far. Even though I disliked this season I still found myself watching it every Wednesday night. I am almost positive that the reason I found this season so mediocre is because it was completely lacking any kind of humor. No one in the house was funny at all. I enjoy watching the pranks and destruction that you see in almost every other season. But this season was filled with a bunch of boring crybabies. I just wish that Junies little brother Rob Browning would have stayed on for a little while longer. That alone would have made the show so much more entertaining. But yeah, I think that TUF 9 sucked dick. I have very high hopes for TUF 10 though.

UFC 99 The Comeback Outcome

UFC 99 The Comeback, in my opinion, was average at the best. All of the fights where pretty good but none of them had me jumping out of my seat with excitement. I expect a whole lot more from future UFC events.

Marcus Davis Vs. Dan Hardy
This fight was one of the better ones. The fight was pretty even with Marcus Davis controlling it on the ground and Dan Hardy doing some serious damage with a knee and some elbows. I definately had Marcus Davis winning the first two rounds but Dan Hardy obviously got the better of him in the third. This was a good close fight and Dan Hardy took the split decision.

Spencer Fisher Vs. Caol Uno
I thought that if Caol Uno could takedown Spencer Fisher then he could win. This fight was pretty even in my eyes; noone really caused any significant damage in the fight. In the end of the third round Caol Uno finally got in some decent ground and pound. I don't understand why, but Spencer Fisher got the unanimous decision. Horrible job by the judges in my opinion.

Mike Swick Vs. Ben Saunders
Started off a little slow but hilarious. It went to the ground with Mike Swick on top right away. Ben Saunders continued to hold Mike Swick down and prevent him from posturing up. The hilarious part is when you can hear them talk shit to eachother. Mike says something like "You gonna hold me all night?!" then Ben answers with something like "I wanna stan up bitch!" I thought this was very funny. But anyways Mike Swick got the first finish on the main card with a second round TKO via strikes. I was disappointed because, like i said before, I am not a Mike Swick fan.

Mirko Cro Cop Vs. Mostapha Al Turk
Cro Cop won via eyepoke. But seriously he would have dominated Al-Turk regardless. Cro Cop took the fight with a first round TKO.

Cheick Kongo Vs. Cain Velasquez
This fight went almost exactly how I pictured it. The only thing that surprised me was how early Kongo rocked Velasquez. But Cain was able to recover quickly and dominate big ass Cheick Kongo with his superior ground skills. Cain Velasquez took the unanimous decision. He is definatley a major threat to everyone in the heavyweight division (Yes even bigass Brock AKA Cock Chestner).

Rich Franklin Vs. Wanderlei Silva
This was a good fight. I don't really know what to say about it though. Rich Franklin took the unanimous decision. I've heard/read some people say that they think Wanderlei should have won that fight. I don't know if I agree with that though so let me know what you guys think.

Countdown to UFC 99 The Comeback

UFC 99 The Comeback will be on tonight. I don't think that this card is that great, however it should still be exciting. Now that I think about it this card is actually pretty good. It just seems a little weak to me compared to a few of the previous cards like UFC 96, UFC 97 & UFC 98. Not to mention upcoming cards like UFC 100 & UFC 101. I'm actually looking forward to some of the fights after watching The Countdown to UFC 99 on Spike TV. Heres how I have them going:

Marcus Davis Vs. Dan Hardy
I don't really know what to say about this one. Both of these guys are confident in their boxing so I expect a nice boxing match ending in a TKO or KO. I think this will be a close fight but I'm hoping that Marcus Davis does his thing and fucks up Dan Hardy and his dumb accent.

Spencer Fisher Vs. Caol Uno
This one has obvious scenarios. If Spencer Fisher can stay on his feet then he'll take this one but if Caol Uno can get the take down (he will in my opinion) then he could probably finish him.

Mike Swick Vs. Ben Saunders
Heres one I'm more excited about. I don't really like Mike Swick; I don't know why I'm just not a fan. But Ben Saunders is a badass in my opinion. This should be a pretty good standup fight ending with Mike "Quick" Swick gettin his shit kicked in. Ben is just too nasty for Swick, funny guys too.

Mirko Cro Cop Vs. Mostapha Al Turk
Cro Cop!! Enough Said.

Cheick Kongo Vs. Cain Velasquez
I can't wait for this fight. I really have no idea who is going to win this one. I can't see either of these guys losing. I'm actually happy that Cheick Kongo replaced Heath Herring. In my opinion Cain would have ran through Heath. Cheik Kongo will make this fight way more interesting. I think Cain Velasquez could win with some good ground and pound but I see it going to the judges.

Rich Franklin Vs. Wanderlei Silva
This fight is going to be good but it would have been way better if it happend earlier. I think that these guys are out of their prime. Maybe not so much Rich Franklin as much as Wanderlei Silva. Wanderlei just doesn't seem as vicious as he did back in the day. Maybe its because he can't juice up like back in the PRIDE days or maybe he's just getting old. Whatever it is he just is not the same ruthless fighter he use to be. I'll be rooting for my man Silva but I see this fight being pretty close, maybe even going to a decision. After Wanderlei finishes this fight at a catch weight of 195 then he plans on dropping down to middleweight. I think that Silva could do pretty well at 185.
