Hi all! You are probably wondering where we've been for the last 2 weeks. I had to take a break for family reasons. All is well again so we are back at it! :)

We have a lot going on in today's post. We have added 2 new design team members, we have 2 new digital paper sets, sharing a Customer Spotlight and we have flashback samples. Whew! Next week will be all new images and the DT Members will make their M5D debut!

I've always loved to craft and got into paper crafting in '05 when my sister had us all make LO's for my parents anniversary album. I fell in love with scrapbooking!! About 2 years ago, I began to make cards and that became my first love! My card making has been one way to be a blessing in our ministry as I am a pastor's wife. I also homeschool our 4 kids. I'm originally from Moncton, NB, Canada, but since getting married (almost 25 yrs ago!), we have lived in IA, VA, ON, and now NY. I'm excited to be a part of the M5D design team!!

Hello, my name is Kathy Winter and I am a child of God! I live in Vancouver, Washington and have been married for 22 years with two kids, ages 18 and 21. I have been crafting for about five years. It all started when my sister, Kris introduced me to Stampin' Up and I was hooked. I used to do some scrapbooking when the kids were little but now I love making cards for the people I care for and love. I have been on several Design Teams and am thrilled and delighted to be asked to join this wonderful team of ladies. It's going to be an amazing adventure for me. I guess you can say that my style of cardmaking is on the CAS side but every once in a while I like to really embellish and dazzle, haven't done it in a while so I think it's coming!! I truly hope you feel inspired by my blog as I am by all the ones I visit.

This months release is bittersweet. I know how many of you appreciate the awareness efforts we put forth each month. I receive numerous emails every month with stories upon stories. That's why I do it. However, this past month, I have lost another family member to breast cancer. My mother's favorite cousin, Donna. She lived in TN and every time my mother visited with her, my mother would come back with an accent. LOL! My mother was planning to visit Donna the end of January. To give you a short insight...my step-father is in the late stages of Alzheimer's and my mother is his care giver. Her days are long and tiring but she knows God has her on this path for a reason. Back to Donna...my Mom was scheduled to arrange 24 hour care for my step-father while she went to say goodbye to her favorite cousin the end of this month. Unfortunately, Donna passed away before arrangements were made and the trip was scheduled. My trooper of a mother didn't get to say goodbye. In my mother's sadness she said to me, "I know what Donna would be telling me right now. Ha ha...I made it to Heaven before you did." :) My mother made the drive to TN for the funeral with my step-father and her cousin and his wife. My step-father did amazing and she was able to see her cousin one last time here on earth. So with all that.... Donna's Wings are released this month.

Real Wood Paper Flowers

Good Morning!

Today I am sharing another wood paper project!

Real Wood Paper Flowers.

I used a variety of paper punches and die cuts from Tim Holtz and Stampin' Up. I used our Fleece back option for these flowers. Many people often mistake 'fleece back' for a flannel type backing. It's not! :) It is a very sheer, thin, almost see through backing material. It is applied to the raw wood sheets to give stability and flexibility. It is thinner than our paper back option which makes it ideal for this type of project!

The species I chose to work with for the flowers above are

Butternut, Douglas Fir and Cherry.

Just cut/punch and layer them up! Several of the flowers I did add a little water to the petals to get them to curl up. When you get the wood damp, it remembers being a round tree and will curl back to it's natural form. If you want it flat again, just use a warm clothes iron to flatten it back out!

Since I am using a natural wood product for my flowers, I thought it fitting to use some real dried flower centers. Even though it is winter here, I still had a wealth of resources in my flower gardens. God certainly does provide, doesn't He? :)

Real Wood Paper Trees

Good Monday Morning to you!

I have something a little different to share with you today. :)

I actually made these Real Wood Paper trees over the holiday break. They are made from

KOA WOOD PAPER - THICK.

This particular Koa paper has a different backer than I normally carry. The thicker weight works fantastic for this type of project.

I used an oval paper punch, cut the ovals in half with scissors and glued them to Styrofoam cones with a hot glue gun. This particular run of Koa Wood Paper is very extreme in color variation. So cool!!

I went with a little different look this time and printed directly on different sheets of designer paper by Basic Grey. I cut them to size (6x6) and adhered with Mod Podge.

Once dry, I used Prismacolor pencils to color the fruit. I sponged the edges with SU's Close To Cocoa ink pad. I hung them with 3M's sticky pull tab hangers and with the help of my 3 beautiful wall hanging assistants, we now have a beautiful reminder of the

Fruits Of The Spirit.
