Which Camps are Set to Shine at ONE FC tommorow?

ONE Fighting Championship is set to be the biggest MMA show in Asia. With a broadcast deal which puts it in front of a viewing audience of millions it will be a fantastic opportunity for MMA camps in the region to put themselves in the spotlight.

ONE Fighting Championship is going to be putting on events all over Asia on September 3rd at the 12,000 Singapore Indoor Stadium which is tommorow.

Here is a guide to some of the camps you are likely to see in action:

Team Lakay Wushu

Home to Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon and Roy Docyogen Team Lakay Wushu is undoubtedly the premier MMA camp in the Philippines. As the name suggests every fighter comes from a Wushu background which makes for some unconventional striking techniques.

With his professional boxing background Belingon is quite a technical striker. Folayang’s last performance against Vuyisile Colossa at Martial Combat, when the Filipino appeared to lose his composure a little and start swinging for the fences, was an ample demonstrated as to why virtually every elite level mixed martial artists favour Muay Thai over Wushu or Sanda for their stand up training.

The Team Lakay Wushu fighters have a strong wrestling base, which is a key component of Wushu, but tend to favour ground and pound and don’t boast many submission wins. This camp produces the best fighters in the Philippines but the question is whether they have a good enough ground game to cut it at an international level.

Tiger Muay Thai & MMA

Tiger Muay Thai has established itself as the most successful of Thailand’s many tourist camps. A number of high level fighters such as Roger Huerta, Mike Swick, Phil Baroni, Brian Ebersole and Jake Shields regularly stop by to work on their stand up skills.

In the last year Muhsin Corrbrey and Joe Ray have both won MMA fights for Tiger with the latter going on to secure a multi fight deal with Strikeforce. Being located in one of Thailand’s tourist hot spots fighters tend to come and go but BJJ black belt Ray Elbe, Wiktor Svensson and female MMA and Muay Thai fighter Claire Haigh are the mainstays of the fight team.

Tiger also boasts an exciting Thai prospect in Ngoo Ditty who has a blue belt in BJJ and is on a two fight win streak.

Legacy Muay Thai

Located up in Ubon Ratachatani not much is known about Ole Laursen’s camp. The Danish fighter, who was born in the Philippines, was one of the stars of Martial Combat and conducts his entire fight camp in rural Thailand.

Malik Mawlayi, a BJJ purple belt, also spends several months a year at Legacy and like Laursen was unbeaten in last year’s Martial Combat series. Other fighters to represent Legacy include Alex Niu and Isamu Himura who have always given a good account of themselves.

Although Legacy is primarily a Muay Thai camp it tends to produce fighters with surprisingly good submission skills.

Evolve MMA

This is where i start my love for martial arts. This is where i start my first muay thai training and widen my love and knowledge about this art. They are the best gym in singapore. Evolve MMA is the top MMA camp in Asia and is widely regarded as the "Greg Jackson’s MMA camp of Asia." No other MMA academy in Asia, and possibly even the world, can boast of such an impressive team of world champions, instructors and fighters. Evolve MMA has authentic world champions across every major discipline of MMA. DREAM Lightweight World Champion Shinya Aoki is probably its most well known fighter as is UFC’s Rafael dos Anjos.

Evolve MMA has no fewer than 49 instructors, many of whom can lay legitimate claim to being the best in the world at their specific discipline. On the stand up side, there are Muay Thai legends Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn, Anuwat Kaewsamrit and Orono Wor Petchpun among a roster full of other Muay Thai world champions. These world champions work with the MMA fighters regularly to improve their striking.

On the grappling side both Zorobabel Moreira, Leandro Issa, Alex Silva are a few of the BJJ world champions alongside co-leader of the Evolve Fight Team, Rafael "Gordinho" Correa de Lima, a highly decorated, a BJJ Mundials Blackbelt winner and five times national champion.

The Evolve Fight Team is also littered with rising stars such as Leandro Issa, Brian Choi, Zorobabel Moreira, Mitch Chilson, and Yodsanan Sityodtong as well as hot prospects such as Eddie Ng from Hong Kong and Tipsuta Wongkhamma from Thailand.

Werder Bremen's German international defender Per Mertesacker is set to undergo a medical at Arsenal.

The 26-year-old centre-back is captain for the Bundesliga side and although he is on international duty has been allowed to travel to London.
Arsenal's pursuit of Mertesacker, who is 6ft 6in and has 75 caps for Germany, could end their interest in Bolton defender Gary Cahill.
But the Gunners are set to sign Brazilian left-back Andre Santos.

There is no question that the crowd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium will be rooting for Rahman. However, if Ghosh can upset them by defeating the hometown hero, it would be absolutely huge for Indian MMA. Alvaro Pereira trying to force a move to Chelsea

Uruguayan defender Alvaro Periera is trying to force a transfer to Chelsea, according to A Bola.
The Premiership club have opened talks with Porto for the 25-year-old few weeks ago, but are still unable to reach an agreement.
Chelsea raised their bid to €25 million after their opening bid of €18 million had been rejected.
However, Porto are adamant the player can leave only if a club match his €30 million release clause.
The player himself has been angry with Porto chiefs for rejecting the latest bid and he is now trying to engineer a move to Chelsea.
According to A Bola, Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa still holds a grudge against Chelsea for tapping up coach Andre Villas-Boas and that is the main reason why they are not prepared to sell Alvaro Pereira to the Blues.

Arsenal snatch Park from under Lille’s nose

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of forward Park Chu-Young from Monaco, according to L’Equipe.
The Korea Republic international had already agreed personal terms with Lille and even passed the first part of the medical at Stade Lille Metropole on Friday.
However, the Korean then received a call from Arsene Wenger and was persuaded into joining Arsenal instead.
The Gunners managed to agree a transfer fee with Monaco on Saturday and the 26-year-old is now on the verge of completing a move to the Emirates.

Parker nears Tottenham switch

Tottenham have opened negotiations with West Ham regarding Scott Parker, the Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has revealed.
It was no secret that Spurs boss Harry Redknapp was keen on the England international, but it looks as though Tottenham’s latest injury crisis has seen the experienced manager finally make a move for the veteran midfielder.
When asked whether Tottenham are in talks with West Ham over the move for Scott Parker, Sam Allradyce replied:
“I am not in talks with them but there is some dialogue going on at the moment. That is all I am aware of,” Allardyce was quoted as saying in Daily Mail.
”As in terms of what level it is at, I certainly know that a deal has not been struck by any way, shape or form at this moment in time about Scott Parker.
“Whether he is here on Wednesday depends on whether someone reaches the owners’ valuation.”

The transfer window shuts on Wednesday and as always the rumour mill is in overdrive.
When a transfer window is about to shut there is usually a huge flurry of last minute deals being done.
Here I take a look at players who could be on the move before that transfer window shut.

Gary Cahill
The England centre-back has been linked with moves to bigger clubs for the past few seasons. Arsenal had been heavily linked with the centre-back and are believed to have had a bid for him turned down earlier this week.
Arsenal are in need of a centre-back though and are expected to return to Bolton with a bid of £12million for the former-Aston Villa defender.
Wanderers may have to consider a bid in that region because Cahill’s contract expires next summer. It’s likely that he could make a move before the transfer window shuts. Liverpool are also believed to be interested in the 25 year-old.

Craig Bellamy
The Welsh striker is hugely talented but he also has a reputation for being difficult to deal with. Bellamy has fallen out of favour at Manchester City and spent the majority of last season on-loan at home town team Cardiff City.
However, Bellamy is now back at City and is unlikely to see much first team action this season. Even at 32 years of age Bellamy is still capable of playing in the Premier League. He is the sort of striker who never gives the opposition a minute of peace.
Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham have both been linked with a move for the striker. He is likely to leave on a free transfer, due to City wanting to get him off their wage bill.

Shaun Wright-Phillips
Wright-Phillips is another player who has fallen out of favour in Manchester. The winger has been frozen out of the Manchester City squad so far this season and is sure to leave the club before the transfer deadline.
The former-England winger has been linked with a host of Premier League sides, including QPR, Bolton and Stoke. The Hoops are currently favourites to capture his signature after the club were handed a financial boost by new owner Tony Fernandes.

Peter Crouch
The lanky England striker Peter Crouch has been linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer. Stoke City have been linked with the England international but its unclear if the Potters have yet made a bid for the 30 year-old.
Crouch will face increased competition for a place up front at Spurs after the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor on-loan from Manchester City.

Luka Modric
The Tottenham midfielder has been constantly linked with a move to Chelsea this summer. If media reports are to be believed Spurs have turned down numerous bids from the Blues for the services of the Croatian international star.
Modric has stated he would like to move to Stamford Bridge but the Tottenham hierarchy have stated they will not listen to anymore bids for the player. It looks like he could remain at White Hart Lane.

Phil Jagielka
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sees the Everton defender as a possible solution to his central defensive problems. Wenger has already had a bid of £12million rejected for the 29 year-old but could return with a higher bid to capture the England international.
However, it looks as though Wenger has moved his thoughts away from Jagielka towards Bolton defender Gary Cahill.

Scott Dann
The Birmingham City defender is highly rated after a good couple of seasons in the Premier League. The Liverpool-born centre-back has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool this summer. It seems he is sure to move on before the transfer deadline, his destination is less unsure though.
Liverpool look to be strengthening their defence with Uruguayan youngster Sebastian Coates. So it seems that Chelsea or Arsenal are the more likely destinations for Dann.

Surprises
Every transfer window there are usual shock transfers that take place. Some of the biggest deals can happen on the last day before the deadline, just like they did on the last day of the January transfer window. There are sure to be some surprise moves between now and when the transfer window shuts on Wednesday.

One Fighting Championship set to be Singapore's biggest MMA event this September

16 of the world’s most elite mixed martial arts competitors will fight it out at the One Fighting Championship happening on Sep 3 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Named Singapore's biggest martial arts event of the year, the championship will be broadcast live on MediaCorp Channel 5 and ESPN STAR SPORTS , and will feature the fight team from Evolve MMA, including Singapore's Radeem Abdul Rahman.

To all sports fanatics and enthusiasm.. Hello and welcome to my Blog. First I introduce myself.. My name is Wahid. I'm a Singaporean and i'm 28 years old this year. I love sports from i was a small boy. I love soccer very much. the sport that i've tried were dragonboating, skateboarding, rollerblading, touch rugby, golf and many more that i unable to tell all because it's a lot. i like to try out each sports and see how it feel and intrest me. But as me im more intrested in contact sports. I've tried out brazillian ju jit su, submission grappiling, mix martial art, boxing and muay thai.

Well to me now my real hobby is only muay thai and soccer. I am not training to go for fights, i just train as part of my hobby and keeping myself fit and so do soccer too. Because of my intrest and enthusiam about sports... I wanna share and blog about it. I will be posting a lot of soccer news and updates or histories, and also posting events on MMA's and updates about fighters, etc2.. Thats not all.. I will be blogging about other sports too.. like tennis, cycling, running and many more. so stay tune.. =)
