I believe The NY Times article, which seems about right at less than 2500 (at least for a woman). That's more than a full day's worth in itself. More than that, you probably would get sick.

You often mention StriVectin and I have tried the SD Advanced Intensive Concentrate.

Wrinkle Resist Plus by DDF: Moisturizes + Minimizes Pores

The developer, Doctor's Dermatologic Formula (DDF), claims that "Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer moisturizing serum instantly minimizes the look of pores while it exfoliates and hydrates to continually diminish the appearance of wrinkles."

I bought Wrinkle Resist Plus in Sephora when there was a DDF representative present to demonstrate the products. I listened to the sales pitch and thoroughly enjoyed having two DDF products massaged into my face. As she touted the benefits and all the excellent ingredients, I looked at the Wrinkle Resist Plus ingredient list and had to agree.

Regarding the high concentration of the excellent cell communicating ingredient Niacimamide in Wrinkle Resist Plus, if I said it once I said it ten times, "just like Olay." I was duly impressed.

My First Pilates Reformer Bed Experience

I took my first Pilates reformer bed class yesterday and it was nothing short of amazing. I usually shy away from complicated exercise equipment. To me that means anything more mechanical than the abs roller I used for many years.

So, while I've taken many Pilates mat classes and exercised along with dozens of Pilates videos, I'd never gotten up close and personal with the somewhat intimidating contraption known as the Pilates reformer bed.

November is National Healthy Skin Month – the perfect time to refocus on maintaining healthy skin care habits. Dr. Bethanee J. Schlosser, MD, PhD, FAAD, assistant professor of dermatology and director of Women’s Skin Health at Northwestern University, shared the following dermatologist skin care tips on behalf of the American Academy of Dermatology.

The good news, according to Dr. Schlosser is that "it's possible to have vibrant skin at any age, as long as you take steps to properly care for your skin. For example, wearing sunscreen protects the skin from both harmful UVA and UVB rays and is one of the most effective ways to prevent wrinkling and sun damage."

Helen Mirren: New Face of L’Oreal

Helen Mirren Named U.K. Ambassador for L'Oreal Paris

I was extremely delighted to hear that L'Oreal Paris named 69-year old Helen Mirren to be its beauty ambassador in the U.K. My only disappointment is that L'Oreal didn't select Helen to represent their new image of beauty for the entire world.

In my book, Helen Mirren epitomizes what Ageless Beauty is about. She's fit, healthy, involved and full of life. We don't all have her genes, but she's an excellent role model for aging healthfully. Yes it's an effort, but the reward of a longer healthspan is well worth it.

In a Daily Mail interview, L'Oreal's general manager Elen Macaskill said she is thrilled to have Mirren represent the beauty brand, adding "She is brilliant, irreverent, beautiful, sexy and quintessentially British."

Helen told the Mail, "I am not gorgeous and I never was, but I was always OK looking and I'm keen to stay that way." She has reportedly insisted that her L'Oreal ad photos not be re-touched to make her look unnaturally wrinkle-free.

In another interview Dame Helen told Celebrity Health Fitness that her "fitness secrets are a portion-controlled diet and a 12-minute Air Force workout" incorporating stretching and calisthenics such as push-ups, sit-ups and running in place.

Haven't I been telling you that the new wave of shorter workouts with bursts of high intensity are the way to go? Helen Mirren is another terrific example of how well it works.

Helen Mirren also follows my eating mantra of "everything in moderation." She says she eats well most of the time but without depriving herself.

The Daily Mail called Helen, "the perfect poster girl for a new breed of older women, showing it is possible to maintain looks, vitality and energy levels whatever your age." I couldn't have said it better.

I thought you might enjoy this Ellen Degeneris interview for a glimpse of the "real" Helen Mirren. No pretenses, no holds barred.

What do you think of L'Oreal's choice?

What's your favorite Helen Mirren role? One of my all time favorite movies is Excalibur in which Helen plays the evil Morgana to a "T". However, I think the best role she has done is as Elizabeth I in the T.V. mini-series.
