I have been waiting for literally years to say this: N++ has a release date! We worked with Richard E. Flanagan to put together this fancy trailer for the announcement, so let’s let it do the talking.

Yes, N++ will be coming to your PS4 on 29th July, 2015. As a special treat for PlayStation players, it’s a whopping 20% off for PlayStation Plus members for its first two weeks on sale.

[Aside: This kind of discount will not be happening much, so if you’re looking to get N++ on the cheap, now’s your chance! Actually we’ll be raising the price when the first big update comes out (it will effectively double the size of the game). More info on that soon ;)]

But back to the main event: we are so excited N++ is finally ready for release and we can’t wait for you all to finally get your hands on it — it is challenging, satisfying and bursting with surprises. I can tell you with complete and enthusiastic confidence, N++ is the masterpiece we set out to make. It has turned out even better than we expected it to, and partly because of the N++ beta we ran over the past few weeks.

N++ has a built-in level editor so when you’re done playing the 2,360 levels in the game, you can go on to create your own levels. Every single level, including the ones made by players, has highscore leaderboards with replays. That’s a lot of data we needed to be sure works seamlessly!

The purpose of the beta was to help us test the massively complex server-backend component to N++, which will allow you to share your levels with every other N++ player on PS4 throughout the world, and also to view replays of people playing your levels. It’s a good thing we tested it, because there were a lot of issues we’ve now fixed so that when N++ launches, everything works perfectly. As an added bonus, you’ll get to play all the levels people made during the beta!

We also streamlined the UI, tweaked the graphics and added lots of polish. Beta players had great feedback, and it was really helpful to see how people approach the game. We were especially happy to hear only positive feedback on the way the game feels to play, which is something we’ve spent the last ten years very finely tuning. All in all, the beta helped us make N++ even better, and it’s almost time for you to see what we mean!

There’s way too much to describe in one post, so I’ll go into more detail about N++ in the next few weeks. In the meantime, here’s a cool short video made by PlayStation Canada that helps you get a look at what N++ is, who we at Metanet are, and why you’ve just got to get your hands on this game.

Ok mate. With a huge response from our first free psp game downloads, we are going to be offering some more games during this week.

We aren’t sure yet. But we will make sure that those who want it, will get it.

The last time we offered free psp game downloads, it almost blew up our servers. We apologise for this. And it also freaked us out. You see, we never expected so many fans, just like you and me, to want to download free psp games.

PSP Games Demo Neverland Card Battles

As you probably already know, Neverland Card Battles for the PSP has recently been released in shops areound North America. And if you’ve played it before, you probably know that it combines card based gaming with strategy RPG mechanics.

So what does that mean? Well, it means all card gamers will find this pretty cool. You see, what you got to do is play the part of Galahad. And then you got to strategically cover as much territory as possible and disperse legions of card spells and stuff. You see, you need to banish the evil deity Hellgaia to the Cardinal Arc shrine forever and save Neverland from judgment day.
Sounds confusing?

Well, it’s not when you can play the psp games demo of it! Yeah. That’s right. You see, they have just released a psp demo version of the game in the Playstation store. But I guess it’s only for North American gamers at present.

Anyway, Neverland Card Battles psp games demo is worth trying out, just to see what it’s like. You see, in this demo, it has stuff like the opening cut scenes, a tutorial mode, and a full level where you will go up against the Dominator Egma. I guess what they are trying to do in this demo is to get us hooked on the game.

For some, this psp game will be addictive as sniffing glue. (Joking there !!!) While for others, it won’t cut it. But I guess you won’t know if it’s good for you if you don’t play it. Especially when it’s free and so easy to download.

PSP Games Releasing November 10

With Christmas only a few weeks away, here’s 2 psp games you’ll probably want to think about getting. You see, annual sports titles are something which I know many sport fans have been waiting for. And that is Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 and the WWE’s Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 psp game.

So 2 psp games to be released isn’t too shabby for NA.

As for Europe, well, they do get a few titles. But staying on the soccer theme, they do get Football Manager 2009. Good game for soccer fans. Anyway, here are the psp games to look out for this in Europe.

Over the last week, we’ve got emails from new psp owners wanting to know how to watch Youtube and other videos on their psp. Now, there’s been some good homebrews to do this. But they’ve been hard to use. And install too.

But that’s all changed now. You see, there’s this new homebrew called PSPTube Version 1.3, where you can watch all the latest Youtube and Google videos. And also another 19 video sites too. That means there’s something for everyone.

Sony PlayStation Portable PSP as the name implies is a portable gaming console. Sony PSP is a sleek handheld gaming console offering impressive graphics and numerous exciting games. Sony PSP comes with TV output and a built-in Skype as well as great media capability.

Latest PSP, PSP 3000 comes with 4.3-inch TFT 16 million-colour widescreen display, providing better colours than older models.

Sony PSP has a built-in Skype used for online communication, as well as a built-in microphone for the same purpose. Internet connection is available via PSP built-in Wi-Fi.

The game is in its Alpha stages, but already has quite a few things. Just recently it was given lots of new stuff, as stated in his release:

I've created a few new levels. I've added lava (damage, visual, and liquidyness). You can now pick up any upgrades that I put in a level. You can travel from one level to another (I don't have a loading screen yet, but it is relatively quick to load each level).

I've added a few sound effects, but they are slow to load, and I've had some crash problems with them. I haven't changed the screenshots yet, but I will later.

In 0.25 I've added the door shield that can require any attack type to open. I've implemented the missile pickup (you start with 10 I think each tank adds 5 more.) I've created the first boss, but he is not playable until the next update.

Here's what else he has planned for the game:

Create a story-line.
Create a menu screen.
Add a save feature.
Add doors that only open based on the attack that is used against them.
Add more monsters.
Add a few boss monsters.
Add zones that have different affects (water slows jump, move, and gravity speed, etc. etc...)

I wonder if he'll also add the secret ending... but anyway. Here are the controls:

L-Button - Jump (later I will have a system where you jump higher/further based on how much you do it).
R-Button - Shoot, hold for charge beam (shoots missiles when in missile mode, appears to charge but has no effect on the fire-power when in missile mode)
Analog-Nub - Aims the gun (moves the camera)
Triangle - Moves forward (move speed will vary based on how much you move)
Square - Strafe left.
Circle - Strafe right.
Cross - Move Backward.
Select - Switch between missiles and beam mode

Sort out Issues with Sound, Graphics, Speed and Drive Space

This article offers advice on coping with the gigantic database which the new Football Manager game contains, providing useful tips to enhance the running of the game.
With a new 3D pitch feature and over 50 playable leagues, it’s no surprise that 'Football Manager 2009' requires a powerful system in order to perform at an acceptable level. However there are ways and means of ensuring that the game runs as quickly as possible.

Installing Football Manager

Different PC's will allow for different speeds, and it's important to make sure that the settings of the game are not too powerful for the PC, otherwise you will encounter problems before the installation is even complete! Sometimes uninstalling other games from a PC can be effective, as doing so means that there is more space available for the FM database. Check the amount of hard drive space left on your computer by selecting 'File > Properties' in your C: Drive, as this will ensure that you are not cramming a massive amount of data into a small amount of space.

Once installation is complete, it doesn't take long to decide whether the game is running at a desired speed or not. If the game is not running as quickly as you would like, there are a few adjustments which can be made to the games 'preferences' in order to increase the game speed.

Before starting a game on Football Manager, an options screen will appear, providing options such as 'New Game' etc. In the bottom right of the screen there are a few options, one of which is preferences. Once selected you will automatically arrive at the 'General Settings' menu, where there are several game features which can be adjusted and reflected in the game play.

Adjusting General Settings

From the General Settings menu it is wise to select the 'Processing Fixtures' option and change it to 'Fastest (Can't Interrupt)'. As the title suggests, this will prohibit the use of the games menus when fixtures are processing, and as a result the fixtures will process that bit quicker.

Display Options

Use the menu on the left side of the screen to change from the 'General' options, to the 'Display & Sound' options. This is where many changes can be made to ultimately increase the game speed.

The most effective changes are listed below:

Display Mode: Default (Ensure that 'Use Skin Cache' is checked)
Show Players and Staff Pictures: None
Show Graphical Attributes in Profile: Unchecked
Show Badges/Logos: Unchecked (Depending on the quality of the PC's graphics card)
Show Background Pictures: Unchecked
Show Unique ID's: Unchecked

Adjusting the Graphics

The newest feature of FM 2009 is that it now has a 3D pitch, which is accountable for a large part of the waiting which is entailed in playing the game. Although it's a trendy new perk of the game, after a while it will most probably become more of a bother than a feature. At this point return to the 'Display & Sound' menu and uncheck 'Enable 3D match cameras', and ensure that 'Graphical Detail' is low. Ok, so you have to return to the standard 2D pitch, but the game runs much more quickly!

Sound Settings

The sound settings can have an impact on the games performance, and if the sounds aren't important to your gaming needs then simply do the following:

Select 'None' on the Sound Cache option
Ensure that the 'Play Sounds' option is unchecked

What Will The PSP Do In 2009?

[With Sony's PlayStation Portable software sales still arguably not meeting expectations, Gamasutra's Matt Matthews predicts how Sony will change its handheld strategy in 2009 -- expecting an even more drastic shift towards online software distribution, a new UMD-less PSP model, and possibly even a PSP phone.]While Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP) is clearly the most successful non-Nintendo handheld game system ever sold, few would argue that it has lived up to its potential.The system continues to post strong hardware sales figures, but few software titles have sold well, and only three titles have broken a million units in sales according to recent reports.Sony has been dropping hints about the future of the PSP.

Responding to a report on declining PSP software releases published on Edge Online in late September 2008, John Koller (SCEA director of hardware marketing) explained that Sony had been evangelizing the system to publishers, stoking the hardware sales fires, and preparing to push the system harder in the coming year.So far, we have few concrete details on Sony's PSP plans in 2009. However, the company's actions in the last year, both on the PSP and on the PS3, provide plenty of room for reasonable speculation.Before we dig in, keep in mind that the points outlined below are from the perspective of the U.S. market.
The PSP has a stronger standing in Japan -- where Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise has helped tremendously -- and in Europe, the PSP has seen a decline in popularity in the face of outstanding Nintendo DS sales.Now, on to the predictions.

1. Online Software DistributionIn the coming year, Sony will likely shift from a brick-and-mortar retail strategy to a business model more akin to the model used by Apple for the iPod and iPhone.
The best evidence of this was the discreet Thanksgiving release of PBR Out of the Chute, a PSP bull-riding game developed by D2C. The game itself isn't as important as what it represents: the first third-party game released exclusively via the PlayStation Store without a corresponding disc release (Out of the Chute was also released at retail for PlayStation 2 and Wii in late October 2008.).Before Out of the Chute, the online store served mostly as an outlet for first- and third-party games which had previously been published on UMD, the PSP's proprietary disc medium.
Most of the third-party PSP titles on the PS Store are lesser-known properties, although the recent release of D3 Publisher's Puzzle Quest on the service has raised the bar.By deprecating UMD sales, Sony achieves several important goals for the PSP platform:- Reducing the barriers to entry for smaller developers, having removed the physical medium publishing issue.- Encouraging owners to tie software directly to their system, reducing its resale value.
Downloaded software has no resale value, and users will be less likely to abandon the investment they've made in the system, much as users are loathe to abandon the iPod after investing in music purchased from the iTunes Music Store.- Meeting the lifestyle preferences of teenagers, the system's target audience for the past two years.The experience with Out of the Chute will serve as a testbed for third parties, but Sony can already point to its first-party games that have been launched exclusively on the PS Store: flOw, echochrome, Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, and Ape Quest.
The last of these was an experiment in for-pay downloadable content, a relatively untested business model on the handheld.If prices are competitive, Sony may even stop some fraction of the casual piracy that has plagued its system through a string of firmware hacks.

2. Parallel PSP And PS3/PSN DevelopmentThe PSP versions of flOw and echochrome -– which recreate the experience of the PS3 games on the handheld screen –- suggest a possible new model for development for Sony platforms. Many PS3 games distributed via PSN could potentially be implemented on the PSP with few alterations.Consider, for example, popular PSN games like
The Last Guy, PixelJunk Monsters, and Bionic Commando: Rearmed. Not one of these games is so detailed or complex that it couldn't be handled on the PSP with modest modifications, at most.This relationship could work both ways. Since there are lower expectations for PSN-distributed PS3 games, games which originally targeted the PSP could be simultaneously ported to the PS3 and reach a larger audience.
The PS Store itself could offer bundles with both versions, for owners of both systems.Lest it seem too much to extrapolate from just the PSP versions of echochrome and flOw, keep in mind that the PS3 titles Everyday Shooter and Super Stardust HD (renamed Super Stardust Portable) have just been released for PSP, offering much of the functionality of the originals on the smaller handheld system.

3. Finally, The UMD-less PSPEven though the PSP-3000 just launched, Sony will consider a new UMD-less model in 2009. Freed from a mechanical drive and corresponding battery drain, Sony can choose to slim the system down further, offer extended battery life, add functionality (such as solid state local storage), or some combination of all of these.
In lieu of the UMD, local storage would be essential. Even 4GB of on-board flash memory would be sufficient for a base model, and high-end users could supplement with 8GB or larger Memory Sticks Pro Duos.The death of UMD will also mean the death of the UMD movie.
Fortunately, Sony's PlayStation Video Store is positioned for access directly from the PSP or via the PlayStation 3, so the PSP will continue to serve as a portable movie device.

4. Possibly A PSP PhoneSony has made some moves that suggest the possibility of a PSP phone, and such a device would put the PSP more in competition with Apple's iPhone than with the Nintendo DS (or even its successor, the Nintendo DSi).With its multimedia capabilities, integrated online store, and built-in Skype, the current PSP is further away from the ideal dedicated gaming system than it was when it first launched.Would the addition of cell phone capabilities, Bluetooth, and a touchscreen to the PSP make it a strong competitor in either market? This is a difficult question, and the future of a PSP phone is far from guaranteed.In just 16 months, the iPhone reached about 1/3 of the global hardware base of the PSP, and any PSP phone would need impressive technology and strong marketing to position itself as a viable competitor.

5. Fresh Retail StrategyOne of the more interesting comments that Koller made to Edge Online in September was this one: “I think going into next year, we’re going to see significant growth. We’re counseling retail to be ready for it.”If Sony pushes the PSP as a product that gets it content strictly online, that doesn't mean it is abandoning retail. Quite the contrary, Sony would seek different relationships, ones that benefit both Sony and the retailers.One could imagine a new retail strategy that focuses on these key areas:- High-margin hardware bundles, which have constituted the majority of PSP hardware sales since 2007, at the least.- Vouchers for PSP games to be downloaded via the PS Store, similar to the manner in which The Lost & The Damned is currently being marketed by GameStop (The Lost & The Damned is the exclusive add-on content for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV).- Vouchers for PSP movies to be downloaded via the PS Store, in lieu of the current retail UMD releases.- Higher visibility for PS Store cards, for those key teenage consumers without access to credit cards.These changes would be relatively easy for big box retailers like Walmart and Target to implement, with consumer and sales associate education being perhaps the most significant impediment.

The PSP sections at big box retailers have been shrinking of late, but vouchers and bundles would easily fit within the existing space or be modestly expanded to accommodate a growing array of vouchers.For specialty retailers like GameStop, however, these changes would mean the end of used game revenue. Make no mistake, that would be a bitter pill for GameStop to swallow.
Sony might need to provide greater incentives, such as exclusive hardware bundles, to keep these retailers on board.All SpeculationRecall, this is just speculation limited to a PSP revival in the United States. Sony could simply stick to the traditional retail model, encourage third parties with standard incentives, and gradually upgrade the PSP hardware while retaining the UMD drive.However, Sony has made great strides in the past year both in its online service and PSP hardware capabilities. It is reasonable to think they will try to capitalize on these gains in at least some of the ways outlined above.

Before its launch two years ago, Sony's Blu-ray-powered PlayStation 3 looked poised to continue the company's dominance of the game industry. Now it's scraping for exclusive content.

It's no coincidence that all but one of the games on Wired.com writers' list were bankrolled by Sony itself. The maker of PlayStation 3 has ramped up its internal game development efforts in an attempt to differentiate its expensive, third-place box. And it's doing quite a good job at it, judging by 2008's software lineup. Will it be enough to save PlayStation 3's bacon in 2009?

5. Wipeout HD

The warp-speed space-racing game with the techno soundtrack has been around since the original PlayStation, and the latest one had the the same effect on me that the original did way back when: Sheer audiovisual overload that made my jaw drop. The levels may not be new, but they are astonishing in their high-res, richly detailed splendor. And if you can play it without Pilot Assist turned on, I salute you. -- Chris Baker

Come for the clever arsenal and vibrant alternate-history atmosphere, stay for the 60-player fragfests and sprawling cooperative campaigns.
