We visited the Amalienborg Palace in Germany, one of the excursions we booked on our cruise. The coach is big enough for the 18 of us and at the end of each trip, the leader would present two red packets, one for the driver and one for the tour guide. Well, as for the palaces, you see one, you see all... hahaha... perhaps only for us. We are not historians nor a passionate one. Anyway, if it is part of the excursion, so we have to go along with it. As Asians, we are more interested in Food and Shopping, don't you agree? LOL.. Oh, of course, taking lots and lots of memories in our photographing....

The second day or was it the third day, (I forgot) we followed the private tour excursion to Copenhagen. From the port, the bus waited for the 18 of us and the first place we stopped by was the Little Mermaid statue by the waterside. Used to see this image in movies and in books, this time it was for real... Anyway, we just stopped for 15 minutes to mark our presence by taking turns to take the famous icon and then continued on our journey to the next destination.

Took one with her but it did not turn out well....

First Day Cruise Skagen Denmark

SMOOTH CHECK IN AT THE PORT....

We went through the immigration process smoothly, each of us were given a small button to put around our neck, that small badge will be our ID on the cruise. Whenever we go out from our ship and getting back aboard, we have to use this small button/badge and it is most secured around our neck. Oh yes, we don't have to carry cash onboard... anything we need to purchase, that small button is our ATM too!

Our bags were already right outside our rooms after we had our first lunch meal on board...

This is our room for me and my sleeping partner... two single beds...

For appetizer, I had clam chowder....

One of my siblings had this...

Mussels and shrimps as appetizer...

I had roasted beef for main course...

Followed by two scoops for ice cream...

And a piece of cheese cake....

Actually we had buffet for lunch...

And fine dining for dinner....

I did not take any pictures of the buffet unfortunately...

For the next 14 days, we had almost the same food...

The next morning, the Princess stopped at Skagen ...

We went down for a walk around the small town...

Quiet town.. mostly tourists...

Docking Princess Cruise At Southampton

AS MUCH AS WE WANTED TO GO SIGHTSEEING, we cannot deny that we were looking forward to the day tour to end. Our physical strength has almost reached the limit, more than 24 hours has passed without getting a proper bed to lie upon. LOL... Flight to London took almost 24 hours, stopping half way at Dubai for a few hours transit, than straightaway from Heathrow to Salisbury, Bath and finally reached Southampton to stay for a night. We did not go out for dinner, thanks to my sibling who brought along 6 cups of maggi mee, we truly ended up enjoying our dinner in the comfort of our rooms.

We woke up the next day feeling very refreshed...

Just have to take a short 5 minutes drive where we embarked the ship...

Breakfast is included in this hotel...

I had a hefty meal....

From that day onwards... continental all the way!

Beautiful Bath in UK

BATH... It is my second visit to this city, famous for its hot springs and history with stunning Georgian architecture. The tour guide told us that the Netflix series Bridgerton was filmed here in this beautiful city. We passed where the Lady Danbury "stayed" and those who watched this series will know who I meant. :)

The first time I visited Bath, my kids and I just walked around the city and had lunch here. This second time, we went inside the famous Bath, where the famous Romans really bathed in this place below. Well, is it worth paying the expensive ticket to go in? Unless you are really into Roman history, otherwise, please skip. LOL.... As for our group, we had to go in cos it was included in our excursion. No joke, we paid quite a hefty sum for this day tour in UK.

Our First Stop Stonehenge

I AM BACK AGAIN... but for how long, I dare not commit... LOL...

Come May, I went for a two weeks cruise called Baltic Sea cruise which covers a few countries namely Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Norway. I hope I got them correct but definitely not in sequence though.

My siblings and I booked this cruise nearly a year ago... yes, a year ago because we wanted to sign in early to get the promo rate. LOL.. I had not been on a Princess ship before and I heard good reviews about it so without hesitation, I joined the cruise.

A year later, all the six of us flew to London a day earlier before the cruise started. We joined another group of Malaysians, one of them who is the organizer of this trip. Everything went on smoothly at the airport and in no time, all 18 of us were in a coach bus taking us to our first destination, Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire...

Blur blur or not, we managed to keep our eyes open for the first excursion.

DON'T KNOW WHY IT IS CALLED SECRET TUNNEL....

Maybe they got the name from up north, Thailand cos the food served are mostly Thai food....

But at that time I did not order Thai dishes, there were only two of us, both seniors, cannot eat a lot especially during dinner time. LOL... Now I understand why those days my ex-colleagues who retired used to tell me that they eat only half portions... That time I did not understand cos I was still working and I could eat one full portion by myself... Now I know! LOL...

Blogging was a trend then, I was in my late forties, I was still working and I updated my blog each day in the office. I remember going blog hopping too, from one blog to another, making friends with bloggers from the Philippines, Singapore, Europe, United States and of course, from my own country, Malaysia. Blogging was my passion during those years until I retire in 2014 and still blogging now in 2025 though not as frequent as before.

AND I ALWAYS DO THIS .... after parking my car, I snap a picture of the nearest pillar with the details....

I experienced not remembering where I parked my car and had a hard time rewinding and retracing the steps, wasting time looking high and low, last resort was to seek the help of the poor security guard who hunted down the car using his motorbike.

It did not happen in Ipoh, the malls here are small compared to those in Klang valley and Penang. Each time I go to One U, the first time after getting down from the car is to take a picture... now play smart, eh... rather than depending on my "hard disk" which is rather obsolete nowadays...

Another way is to remember the entrance we go into from the car park... and that too, sometimes I cannot remember! I better play more mahjong, someone used to tell me... I don't mind playing provided there is enough "kakis" (players) ... unfortunately, I do not have another three partners who are keen in playing. Anyway, mahjong is not my craving type of table game, I prefer Gin Rummy anytime.

Life nowadays has taken a turn... since my favorite girlfriend has left me, I do not go out on a eating spree much. I am now taking care of a cute baby, from second month onwards and now going on four months. Yes, I have become a temporary nanny.... LOL... For now, I enjoy the blissful days of feeding, changing "kaya greenish paste" diapers, bathing her, cooing.. singing... and laughing at her cute expressions. That is my life for now.....

CHINESE NEW YEAR... fifth day....

The place is called Camper1991 and during this festive season, no reservations are allowed. Business is brisk over here, so I heard. Normal days, we can call and book, but on this fifth day of Chinese New Year, we were told to just walk in... and .... wait....

As usual, it is best to be early diners if we do not want to wait in line. We reached the Campers1991 before 6pm and there was two tables left. So happy to see that... it was my first time visit to this place and from reviews, the food is good and the price is reasonable!
