During a recent trip to New Symrna Beach in sunny Florida, I captured these images on my Nikon D40x DSLR. Being a novice photographer, I used this opportunity to test out the 70-200m Zoom Lens that came with the kit. The trip was not for relaxation (I was helping a friend move the entire time I was there), but I got a chance to witness some very fascinating sights when the day was done.

I got a few compliments on the piece in general, but one individual commented highly on the frame Vimeo chose to represent the video. This piece was created in Adobe Photoshop. The entire background is a digital painting. I photographed the "No U-Turn" sign and digitally superimposed it on the painting. Total render time was 2 hrs. I have prints and postcards for sale at Imagekind.

Park Bench

The most simplest of things are sometimes the most exquisite. I pass by this bench almost every day, but today something was different about it. Maybe it was the way the failing light lay across it's slats, or perhaps it was the bareness of the trees that surrounded it. Whatever it was, this ordinary bench looked like art to me. Since I've been subconsciously featuring restaurants in the last two posts, I figure, why not one more! This is the famous Pizzeria UNO on one of my most favorite streets in Chicago. There are many awesome views on this street (notice Trump Towers in the background). On my trip, I got a chance to walk around downtown with my father and do some reminiscing. Good times.... good times!!!

I wanted to take some time to pay my respects to my favorite Chicago eatery, Al's Italian Beef. I got a chance to visit this establishment when I went back home this past holiday season. I was very grateful (and so was my stomach). If your ever passing through downtown Chicago, make sure you stop in - you definitely will not regret it!
