noreply@blogger.com (Vassago) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 13:41:59 +0000

Connory.

Yeah, totally.

Second Lazenby.

Who the fuck's that?

 George Lazenby.

Never heard of him.

After Connory, he did A Majesty's Secret Service. Only did one film.

Never seen it. I have to see it.

Yeah, it's good.

He's an Aussie.

An Aussie Bond.

Aussie Bond, mate.

 Fuck off.

Yeah, serious.

You can't have an Aussie Bond.

 No, he's Aussie.

Really?

All right.

So, that's two.

What about number three?

I don't mind the guy playing him now

What's his name?

What's his fucking name?

He's number three though.

Yeah, he's three, right?

Number four.

 I didn't like Moore.

Don't like the old Roger.

No. No. Too snobby.

Really?

 Polished.

Yeah. I didn't like him.

I like the old Roger.

Yeah. No, I didn't like him.

 Okay. What about Brosnan?

  No, I'd put Brosnan last.

Don't like Brosnan

 last.

 I'd go Connory

 Lazenby.

guy playing him now.
 Dalton

Moore

 Brosnan.

. I'd go Connory

Moore

Brosnan.

Guy playing him now.

Dalton.

Bond really needs to be rugged, have a strong body to do the things he does A Naval Officer, he is a proper sailor and as a 00, basically also a commando Connery and Craig made that work Dalton did to a certain point Moore and Brosnan seemed too slight, almost wimpy Lazenby did OK

Autumn's really here now. You can feel it in the air.

Birds are gathering all along the telephone wires. It's almost time for eiderdowns Velvet curtains and roaring fire. They're burning leaves in the park today. New smokes blowing everywhere. We saw a gray squirrel carrying nuts and our dogs growing extra hair The sun's still warm, but it's not so bright. The days are shorter than they were. We saw tortoise settling down to sleep. And our cat's growing extra fur . His homemade jam cooling in the jars. The apple loft is lined with hay. And so a mouse creep into our sal and we wore extra clothes today

Superman 2

noreply@blogger.com (Vassago) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 13:23:07 +0000

In the Donner cut you see them arrested and taken away, now without powers, presumably to a human military prison Which could be a lot worse if they went there to get experimented on Look at Tal Roh Morgan in the show and Sasha Supergirl in Flash film Lester did not use that bit Most people interpret them not being killed, they go down a slide to a dungeon then get put back in the Zone Even if you see this as Superman kills Zod, he didn't kill the other two Lois hit Ursa and the Doofus fell in himself Although ... Superman could have flown at super speed and saved them It's down to your interpretation

Does make you wish Jay had taken Ronnie out a year earlier so he could never boast about equalling Haney and beating Arnold records

could only say he equalled him at 7 not beat him at 8

As stated, Arnold could have gone on and won 9 or even ten if he wanted -

then watch Haney lose to Dorian trying to get to 9 like Ronnie did when he lost to Jay

Arnold at that stage was unbeatable - Haney and Ronnie were not

Neither Haney or Ronnie could ever have got to 9 - Arnold could have, he just didn't

Sabrina

noreply@blogger.com (Vassago) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 12:58:51 +0000

We saw Sabrina and Nick have that brief but intense under the cover sex scene - cut with their performance of Total Eclipse wearing nothing but her headband - stark naked having sex, but keeps on the headband Anyway we next see Gavin in Sex Lives Of College Girls, having sex with Pauline Chalamet, Timothy's hot sister - it is uncensored so they are both totally nude for this, and we see his bare buttocks clenching as he thrusts into her - and we see lots of different positions (If Sabrina had just agreed to have the sheet off for hers - more Spartacus level sex as this is Netflix ) We never got a Sabrina Caliban sex scene, but you know it would be just as athletic Watch the Sex Lives scene - now picture Gavin as Nick, and this with Keiran rather than Pauline for scene one - then edit in Caliban Nick's place with Sabrina for scene two Where is that AI prog ....

Superman is what I can do - Clark is who I am

noreply@blogger.com (Vassago) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 12:55:58 +0000

For years, including the brilliant Chris Reeves films, we saw Kal El as Superman where Clark was the disguise

This is how it is described in Kill BIll, the way Tarantino sees it In those films we see Superman, who Kal El sees himself as, the omnipotent god flying round in his Kryptonian suit When he puts on the suit and glasses we know it is Superman in disguise - Perry, Lois, Jimmy all think Superman and Clark are two different people - we know this is Superman dressed up and messing around, acting clumsy, doing secret bullet catches Chris Reeves never played "Superman and Clark" because there was no Clark We see the younger Smallville Clark played by Geoff East, hiding his powers while racing trains The adult Clark is just Superman in disguise This show is the first time we see this flipped as a live action - there is a run of comics that uses this Clark is who he has been all his life, the person he is - in this version Clark Kent is the real personality and Superman is the disguise Superman is the suit that he puts on to allow him to use his powers in public "Superman" was never meant to become a character, an identity, that Clark had to play - and in the first series, the first episodes, we see him having difficulty with this, how to "play" the character now known as "Superman" when he has to speak in public Clark is who I am, Superman is what I can do - to flip the phrase the other way If he has never put on the suit and the "superman" character developed as we saw, he would still always be Clark, who he was raised to be

---------------

The balcony scene in Batman v Superman after the bomb that vaporises everyone and leave him unmarked He says to Lois "Superman was never real"

-------------------------

Writer John Byrne started a new run of the comics in 1986 that uses this premises - Clark is the real personality and Superman is the disguise

Glitch

noreply@blogger.com (Vassago) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 12:44:32 +0000

You are on your way out of the door and you reach for your keys

They are not there, not in their usual place, not where you left them

You go looking round the place for them and can't find them anywhere

You get back to the front door and there they are, in their usual place, where you left them

Everyone has experienced this, everyone recognises this

It is a real thing that happens

What you want to call it, or describe it, or relate it to, is up to you

Maybe it is a "glitch"

But it is a real thing

You know that story where a child gets trapped under a car and their parent finds the superhuman strength to lift the car and save the child's life

noreply@blogger.com (Vassago) — Sun, 18 Oct 2026 06:00:00 +0000

I always wondered if that was real.

If someone I cared about was hurt or trapped, would my instincts kick in?

Would I know what to do?

Would I lift the car?

Jump in front of the bullet?

Would I be able to beat somebody senseless?

I like to think I would.

When someone you love is in physical danger, finding the strength you need to save them is easy.

But sometimes the threat isn't physical.

Sometimes, it goes deeper, in which case, no instincts can save you.

No superhuman strength, no adrenaline rush.

You can't power your way out of the crashing car.

All you can do is sit and wait and wish things were different.

Studies show that doctors who report signs of burnout have enlarged amygdalas, the area in the brain that regulates fear and aggression.

But burnout isn't an academic exercise. It's an all-consuming, systemic condition. It's your entire body sending you one clear message. Something has to change and it has to change now.

Put simply, burnout comes from a deep imbalance. Too much stress with too few rewards.

You're exhausted. Depleted. You no longer have patience, pleasure, or serotonin.

This is the end.

Unless you turn it into something else and find your path to recovery.

Pick the pieces you want from your life and find a new way forward.

No matter how remote you are or isolated you feel, there's hope.

And help is usually closer than you think.

It's not always easy to ask.

But with a little courage, if you look, you'll find what you need.

Your family, your friends, your community, lifting you up.

Before the 20th century, drug safety studies were not required.

Narcotics were sold under the counter.

Teething babies were given serums laced with morphine.

A medicine for strep was made with anti-freeze.

No one was responsible for distinguishing between medicine that heals and medicine that harmed.

No one studied side effects or adverse reactions.

All you could do was roll the dice.

Recommendations, rules, guidelines.

Ideally, they exist to save you from unnecessary pain.

Have fun and stay safe while doing it.

But rules only work if you follow them.

But sometimes the rules you've been following turn out to be flawed.

All bets are off.

You're completely on your own.

In the 1940s, while stuck in bed with tuberculosis, biochemist Karl Link read a book on rodent control.

Karl created a rat poison from an anticoagulant he'd discovered while trying, but failing, to treat sick cows.

Later, a soldier trying to end his life ate Karl's rat poison, which, unexpectedly, helped lead to its use as a blood thinner in humans.

From multiple failures, the compound warfarin was born, and it's been used to treat and save millions of people.

Whether in science or life, the road to discovery is rarely a straight line.

We take two steps forward, then fall three steps back.

We veer off course and have to find our way back.

Surprise detours lead us to unsuspected places.

Places we never imagined were possible.

James Harrison, an Australian blood donor, was nicknamed the "Man with the Golden Arm."

His blood contained the rare antibody necessary to make a life-saving medication: anti-D.

Anti-D injections were given to pregnant mothers whose blood was incompatible with their unborn baby's.

James donated over 1,000 times.

What he could survive without saved over 2 million lives.

What we find important to keep in our lives changes over time.

Things break, hobbies age, and dreams evolve.

You learn from experience to narrow down what really matters.

And who you want standing by your side at all times.

And once you do, you hold on as tightly as you can.

“You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.”

When patients leave the hospital, they're often taking home a brand new regimen of medication, physical therapy, and aftercare.

Ideally, every patient would do exactly as they're told.

But reality has a different story.

Too often medication costs, memory lapses, and poor health literacy impede patients' recovery.

For the doctors, there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

In other words, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

It's easy to judge people for their actions but you don't always know what's driving them.

You don't know what they're born into, the struggles they faced.

Sometimes we make rash decisions with no idea why.

But often it's fear pulling the strings behind the curtain.

Fear of failure, of being let down, or, one of the old favorites: fear of happiness.

It's all too easy to be your own worst enemy.

And the damage we inflict can take a lifetime to undo.

At all costs, we avoid negative experiences.

We ignore pain. We steer clear of the unfamiliar.

We lie when asked about how we feel

A recent study found that marriage actually has health benefits.

Married people live longer, have fewer strokes, and fewer heart attacks than people who are single.

Happily, there are other studies that tell us the real truth about the health benefits of marriage, which is that the benefits have nothing to do with marriage at all.

Because those studies have shown that staying in an unhappy marriage is the worst thing you can do for your health and your children.

So better health is a direct result of healthy relationships.

You don't need a spouse, you just need someone you can trust. You need someone you can talk to. You need someone who will celebrate your wins and grieve your losses. You need someone who can forgive you.

You need someone who will show up, no questions asked, and walk with you through every unexpected twist and turn life throws your way.

We define ourselves by our actions,

but it doesn't mean we have to live by that definition.

We can change our own story.

We can refuse to accept the way people define us.

We can work like hell to escape a bad reputation, only to wonder if we succeeded.

It can be hard to shake the mistakes of the past. They'll always come back to haunt us.

But one thing we never do. We don't stop. We don't quit.

We get up and rejoin the fight
